  1. Dorothy sighed. The puzzle in front of her had her completely stumped. “If only I had a brain instead of a head full of straw.” Glancing at her clock, Dorothy let out a gasp. She was late. Grabbing her purse and phone, she dashed out the door leaving the frustrating puzzle behind. Two bluebirds flew past as Dorothy rushed down the path. They went up and around each other in an intricate dance as they slowly flew over the rainbow that covered half the sky. When did it rain? Shaking her head, Dorothy sped up. She had no time to wonder about rain. Her husk was late.
  2. First of the Sun was largely my own doing. An immortal shard of Survival has gotta have some hobbies. Just out of curiousity, how exactly were you planning to use extra actions to bring about your wincon? You are still at least 3 turns from accomplishing it.
  3. Well, this is an interesting turn of events. You know, I did try to spice the game up, but for some reason, nobody was willing or capable of fulfilling any of my offers I had a couple of really funny ideas I was hoping to set in motion, too. Ah well, such is the curse of trying to think too many steps ahead and only ever doing so imperfectly. I never could in good conscience convert to a faction, but I think I played my part acceptably, in the end. With 2 factions a cycle away from winning, I doubt the game will continue past this cycle of day and night, and I give it 50/50 odds that the two factions on the brink of winning are working together. Congratulations to whatever factions are about to win (Stewards and Utility Company, methinks). I could be wrong, but it seems the end is in sight. If anybody did want to prevent the game from ending this cycle, I would advise them to pick carefully who they lynch. But from the looks of it, the current lynch has basically zero chance of stopping the leading factions from winning. My compliments to Dominion for arranging that; it was a nice touch. In any case, it's been an entertaining last shard game. Well done, Seonid, you will be missed. Well done, Joe. Good game, all. Goodnight.
  4. Well, I figure it's probably in my interest to lynch the person who wants me dead for no good reason. Heck, it might be in everyone's interest to lynch somebody who wants to make other people lose even when it has no effect on their win condition. Mouse. If Mouse has a faction, I have nothing whatsoever against their other members, and I hope they understand that this vote was not cast without provocation.
  5. Well, that doesn't make any sense to me. Why would you want other people to lose if it doesn't have any effect whatsoever on your winning? Sure, I'll try to make that happen sometime. Could I ask who are you claiming that Tuatara and/or Odium killed?
  6. Interesting. I am neutral, insofar as I am Survival, my win condition is to Survive, and that has not changed. I suspect you or somebody else must be mistaken on this count. Have you specifically gotten a clarification about your win condition, that an unaligned player counts as a faction, for the purposes of your win condition? Please do that, if you haven't.
  7. I am not a lizard. I am a birb. Some birds eat mice, although I am not one of them. Long live birdkind!
  8. I've been meaning to start some RP; I've got an unusual character to run with. Would anybody care to join me? The stranger stood outside the meeting, pulling the voluminous winter coat closer. She watched. As another came to the circle, it followed behind, waving without a word to the worldhoppers. Their counsel would likely decide the course of worlds. A war of the shards. She had neither the ability nor desire for such things. It had been more than a century since she had been in contact with another shard. She wasn't eager to deal with their clamour again. She was even less eager to meet her creator, though she knew her power now rivaled theirs, and had for what felt like an eternity. She wanted no part in this. She could not leave. Somebody had to be there. Somebody had to weather the storm, pick herself back up afterwords, show the humans how to rebuild, show them how to survive at all costs. She could no more walk away from this than any of the other shards could. She lacked the foreknowledge of her kin; she possessed only the vague and imprecise foreboding that this war would be different. Like a boulder crashing down a hill to its final resting place, the upheaval was building to something. Whatever happened here, it would permanently set the cosmere's course. And whatever happened, she would endure. She extended a gloved hand to one of the Worldhoppers in greeting. She would get to know these people. Not all of them would make it, and it would be the role of those who Survived to remember those who did not.
  9. Sorry I haven't been online as much. This is exactly what I was hoping to avoid; declaring my neutrality on the first cycle and then going inactive for the rest of the game without needing to do much of anything Unfortunately, I've had a lot more going on in life at the same time as this game than I expected when I signed up for it. I've been meaning to do more RP in this game... Mostly caught up. Between the options, I guess I'll go with Opal Lion. EDIT: Whoa. That's a lot of other votes coming in last second.
  10. Hi. Just checking in to say I'm still around. Just been a little busy. I need a good RP character I'll figure it out though.
  11. I already clarified once that no, it does not end the game. If it did end the game, I would definitely consider that to be a non-neutral win condition, because that would most definitely and severely hinder everybody else by causing them to immediately lose the game. I admit I am a bit surprised by the shard's general attitude towards neutrals. It doesn't feel like that long ago that the shard was, if anything, a little too overly protective of neutrals. I strongly believe in a healthy distrust of neutral claimants. But I also strongly disagree with executing neutrals merely because they claimed neutrality, especially in a faction game. But I digress. Actions speak louder than words, and I am going to find a way to make a neutral and open-ended role interesting and a positive part of the game.
  12. I would be happy to open communications, and I will swear to strict confidentiality with anybody who contacts me with sensitive information. However, be advised that I will probably not agree to help your faction in ways that would harm other factions, as that would sort of defeat the purpose of being neutral. I would be quite willing to play a role as a mediator in cooperations between factions, however. For example, if any faction wants to contact me with their win condition, I will put them in touch with other factions whose win conditions seem compatible, provided both involved factions consent to my sharing this information with the other. I gain something from this exchange, since I get to learn about other people's win conditions, but it is also potentially a valuable service for many of you. On an unrelated note, does anybody have any interesting suggestions for RP? I am lacking in inspiration at the moment.
  13. A clarification has arrived. I believe that should speak for itself. I made a straightforward claim first thing after logging into my anon account and viewing my role PM, and I for one find it improbable that anybody could have fabricated a significant lie in that timeframe. It is extremely reckless to falsely claim something along the lines of Survival without any prior knowledge, because all previous games suggest that Survival is a possible role in this game, who could immediately counterclaim me and cause my immediate demise. Tangentially related to all of that, I would like to point out that I was not the one who spun this affair into a discussion of any sort, whether or not we want to call it an unproductive one. In spite of your calling for a shard to kill me on the first day, I do not yet consider myself to be your enemy. If however you continue to act like I am already aligned against you, I will probably become aligned against you, because I would have no other choice. As it is, I am fairly committed to remaining nonpartisan.
  14. That would greatly hinder the win conditions of every other faction, so I should think not. If it were my objective to cause everybody else to lose, I would not be publicly announcing that on the first cycle.
  15. ...small wonder the cosmere has been burned by neutrals, if this is how neutrals are treated. Perhaps I should clarify, because some of us are getting hung up on semantics: I am the sole member of my faction, and the faction of which only I am part of has a win condition that does not hinder in any way the win conditions of any other factions, to the best of my knowledge and reasoning.
  16. Hi. Just checking and saying I am alive, and I will try to read up on things soon. Also, I am a neutral role, unaffiliated with any other faction, and not in opposition to any other faction. I see no reason why I should not reveal this from the start. I will make sure to find some ways to keep playing as a neutral role entertaining.
  17. "Actually, I think the odds aren't as much in your favor as you want us to believe." Vanna had made her preparations to leave, but then the unexpected happened. Somehow the murdered had failed to overrun the village, and one of their number had finally been caught. "If you could have done a repeat of your attack on axolotl, you would have done so today. So whatever it was that allowed you to do so is unreliable at best, and used up at worst. No, I think that, if you aren't done for, you'll at least pay for your victory."
  18. Elephant I'll be attending a LARP event over the weekend, so this is probably my only contribution this cycle.
  19. Ehm, Mauve, if you aren't an elim, then who is? Kangaroo, Albatross, elephant and Mouse have been confirmed, and I assumed you where one as well, as you where on the axolotl train.
  20. Vanna'd been wrong. The painting wasn't all shadow and Darkness. Most of it was, but int he very center there was light. This was not the light of hope however, but something much harsher. Her hand shook as she added the final brush-strokes to the work. Near the door her pack waited for her. It contained what water remained to her, as well as everything else she'd need. As soon as the painting was done she'd take it and head into the wilderness. The high-storm would be the next night, so she'd have to hide out for a day before she could make her escape. The decision to leave was a hard one, but she didn't see anything she could accomplish by staying. This place was done for, but there might be other pockets of survivors out there with better chances of survival. Certainly no good would come from her dying here. She hoped she would be able to convince herself of that before sunrise.
  21. Tension permeated the air. Villagers where looking at eachother suspiciously. It seemed like everyone was waiting for something to happen. Vanna wasn't sure what she feared more, the sudden rush of the murderers trying to break mouse free, or the lack of such an attempt.
