  1. Correction, Ivory: in 9.5 someone pulled out and I forgot to submit the action. I wasn’t roleblocked. As for the Adolin accusation: Adolin has on more than one occasion been the aforementioned person who pulled out in the last minute, claiming that he got cold feet and tried to protect himself instead (it didn’t, and couldn’t, work). And while I have places where he’s claimed that he was undertaking different actions (like protecting Jasnah solo last turn) I don’t have any evidence of these actually occurring. So while I trust him not to work against me I think it’s entirely likely he could be the Peccant. (Tinfoil pays off.) There isn’t an ostracism this round, however. So instead I’d recommend that someone protect Klade, and perhaps someone could spy on our young Kholin.
  2. Agreed, Adolin. I think Action Spying has gone underutilized as of late, but perhaps using Protection actions would be more useful. I might be wrong, though - Spying could give us crucial info in time for the ostracism next round. Does anyone know if your actions are blocked on the round when you are killed? I know they are not during ostracism, but it might be different if you are assassinated. If so, then Tearim wasn’t responsible, or at least wasn’t working alone. If not, we’ll have to wait another round to find out. Furthermore, the continued accuracy of the attacks frightens me. Either someone has a really high success chance for killing, or there’s a multiple people working together. And yes, while any action can be achieved by one person, the fact that they can achieve it consistently indicates cooperation. I fear no man. But that list... it scares me. Time to get out the tinfoil. Jasnah and Ivory: nothing’s changed on my stance with these two. Although I’d like to confirm the outcome of Jasnah’s action - I do hate to be paranoid, but I’ve been burned by people pulling out of actions before and not telling me. (Ahem.) But I suspect they’re not lying. Adolin: he’s built up a lot of goodwill, and he killed Aesudan, but I can’t confirm many of his alibis, unfortunately. Thus, I am reluctantly considering them as a suspect. I just can’t bring myself to clear him on circumstantial evidence alone, especially since the list of suspects is so short. Wit: given that I know almost nothing about them, nor their motives, I am concerned that they may be playing the long game. Kelek’s vouching is great, and I sorta trust Kelek (I’ll get into that later), but I’ve still received far too little information about them to confidently clear them. Drunk Beggar: They’ve got a solid (and confirmed!) alibi, which means they couldn’t have killed Venli or Elhokar. So unless they weren’t working alone, I am confidently clearing them. Ash: inactive. Should everyone else provide a solid alibi, we’ll have to resort to lynching her as she’s the only person who I have had zero communication from in some time, both in the thread and in PMs. But the fact she hasn’t been replaced indicates actions, at least to me, unless I’m misremembering how long ago she last posted. Kelek: circumstantial evidence that clears them, but nothing solid - I realise that sounds odd, but I’m going off the information I have and not what other people say they have. I’ve trusted them up till now. There’s one thing that has been nagging at me, though, and I’m constructing a theory currently, but if anyone could confirm that they assisted Kelek in one of his protects that would be excellent. Klade: someone protected them - probably Kelek, as Adolin guessed, but again I’m not making assumptions. Most Suspicious (or at least the most mysterious): Klade, Wit, Ash. Sorta Suspicious: Adolin, Kelek. Least Suspicious: Jasnah, Ivory, Drunk Beggar. Me. Once I get PM responses, this list will definitely change. There are no good options here.
  3. “Glad to know that I am so unimpressionable that I don’t even warrant an entry. Thought I’d made more of an impact than that, Liss.” @SE_Tearim
  4. Let us mourn Elhokar, who was the greatest King we have ever had since 4 hours ago. (All hail Queen Jasnah.) On another note: both Venli and Elhokar’s deaths prove, unequivocally, that there are some bona fide murderers right now. Multiple. One has been killing off Parshendi, regardless of their activity and ability to affect the game - the other has been killing important people. So, tonight someone should protect Klade, and someone else should protect the person we find most likely to die. (It might be best to make multiple protects.) And we should start actively searching for the murderer.
  5. That was my guess. Occam’s Razor. To keep banging the same drum I’ve been using for the past hour, I (again) need cooperators for my four-person wincon. Someone roleblocked me during my last attempt. If you’re not planning an action, get in touch. Even if you might be able to assist, let me know; I’d rather get the message sooner than later. I’m planning to a Charm again unless anyone has bright ideas. (If you have a wincon that you want completed but not enough people to do it, having me lead it might be an option for you.) Also, it is important to note that roughly 50% of the original players are either dead or currently ostracized. Any more deaths will put the survivors in a minority.
  6. Their plans were coming to fruition. Jasnah and Navani had done something with fabrials, and Wit had contributed in his natural fashion. But all their attempts hadn’t worked. The Unmade had survived. Until now. Time to change the game. Time for a checkmate. “Voidbringer!” Ialai raised the glyphward aloft, like a soldier would lift a blade. “Tremble before the power of the Almighty!” With a firm hand, she grabbed a candle from one of the servants and began to burn the fabric. Any moment now, the Unmade would recoil and wither, leaving the others to place the finishing blow.
  7. Ialai scowled. “We all know what you believe, Jasnah. Perhaps the Almighty will let you repent in the Tranquiline Halls. While you all try to capture this creature with science, I will be here doing the work that actually matters. These glyphwards could save all of our lives!” She began to ink the first glyph, muttering about heretics and fabrials.
  8. Watching the creature coil around the room, Ialai narrowed her eyes. “Can we go back to the distraction plan? I believe we are all underestimating the power of glyphwards. I shall start scribing one now - perhaps Jasnah can help to light them. Let the power of the Almighty bind the Voidbringer while we strike it down! We’ll never kill it any other way. A chull could dodge a strike from that unwieldy weapon.” She began to get out her brushes, planning to draw the glyph for Power. “Anyone else going to help here?”
  9. “Distract the Unmade?” Ialai considered the prospect. She wasn’t much of a scholar, but it seemed to make sense. “Perhaps Wit has some particularly innapropriate tales he can tell it. Or maybe someone can start up a shouting match in the corner. What sort of distraction were you planning, Navani?”
  10. Ialai could not believe her eyes. First, she had hallucinated an inky figure speaking to her throughout the night - now the queen was dead, having been possessed by a Voidbringer! Clearly, Wit had spiked the wines again. There was no other explanation. “Gather around, everyone,” she said. “We need to find a way to kill this... thing. Maybe one of these... honourblades that others are speaking of may help. And sorry, Elhokar, but I think that dealing with a Voidbringer might be a bit more important than your sudden and pressing eligibility. How do we know that you have not been possessed as well?” In truth, though, the reason she was rebelling against the duel was because of Torol. His death has only been a few hours ago, and the wounds from that were still raw - how could Elhokar move on so quickly from a far more horrific and heretical fate?
  11. It is interesting to note than @SE_Venli also placed a vote against me some time ago, apparently misinformed - when I and others corrected her, she did not retract the vote. Not enough to ostracise me, but it appeared to be an effort to do so nonetheless. I am not yet calling for ostracisation against her - it’s just that I would be interested to hear her reasoning as to why she is placing such votes. Should no suitable answer arise I may consider joining Aesudan in her vote.
  12. I can confirm that the Herald group was not involved - I was discussing being part of the plan, and when we realised we didn’t have enough people at that stage we decided to postpone instead of going ahead and possibly botching the plan. I encouraged this, because it suited me to assist this turn. As far as I am aware the decision to postpone was not motivated by any other plans in any way.
  13. I was very confused about the Herald thing until I remembered that anonymous messages existed. In terms of finding the killer, I like the method that Liss has provided. People can be ambivalent towards a kill but can provide assistance in order to be on good terms with an ally, for example. In terms of people who have been vouched for: murders take at least two people to carry out effectively, so something like this would probably require three. Thus, there would be ample opportunity for all of the accomplices to vouch for each other. If someone suspicious has been vouched for by an equally suspicious person, that doesn’t take them off the table. Not all alibis are created equal.
  14. I worked with Dalinar last turn, and passed him some Infused Spheres. And, I agree, we should Item Spy on some people - the Parshendi would be my first guess, but it’s entirely possible that someone redirected another kill or one of the dignitaries had less than savoury intentions.
  15. Ialai swirled the colourful liquid in her cup - she had downgraded to a yellow after some consideration - and pondered the situation. Perhaps she was hallucinating the oiled creature, or its prismatic sheen, but it had some interesting things to say. ”Jasnah, dear. I should think that keeping Amaram in the palace might benefit us if he could be persuaded to find a different target. If someone were to have a suicidal wincon... well, that would all work out nicely, wouldn’t it? And I’m sure that someone besides your dark-skinned friend who you seem so fond of has crossed Meridas at least once.”
  16. “I understand if you condemn me for my actions. I have suffered terribly because of them.”
  17. I’m going to come out and say it: I know who killed Torol. I did. Let me explain. At the beginning of this turn, with the conclusion of my passive wincon (avoid any actions taken against me), I got a new directive: to kill any individual. I chose a target, and got some help. However, I got redirected, and my action killed Torol instead. I would like to emphasise that I bear no ill will towards anyone here - not even the person I originally targeted. Torol’s death, while a tradgedy, still fulfills my wincon, and as a result I will not be targeting anyone else. I would also ask that people should not vote against me, as I have received my just deserts as a result of my actions and pose no threat to anyone else. Although I am understandably frustrated by the event, I do not blame the redirector either as it is likely they had no idea of what would occur. Torol was one of my closest allies and collaborators, and his demise was an accident. I shared this information because I believed that I could trust others to make the right decision in light of these events. I hope I am right.
