  1. "I confess I did not expect the game to be concluding today," Willam said, "though a good game to all. I had a speedy death, but all is well. "I'll save further thoughts for the second aftermath, but I will mention that I spent the first half of the elim doc thinking blue was Flamingo and red was the Obli-gator. The latter mentioned hockey which set my sights straight, but it was a confusing bit there for a second. I also think that doc clarified a certain identity for me, Kjell "...I don't think I actually bought your assertion on that particular player. Not really. I'd have been surprised if it were the case, at least. But now I'm almost sure it's not. This will certainly just come back to bite me later, but again, all is well. "To anyone who doesn't know what I'm talking about... it's a long story."
  2. "I don't think there's any specifics assigned with the adjective," Willam hypothesized, "it's just that moderate is stronger than light which is stronger than mild. "Personally, in my own lists, I make mild stronger than light. But it's entirely personal preference and is just a way of saying 'village, but less village than these people.' "For voting, I'd do some mixture of Dragonfly, Falcon, and Chameleon/Rhino, though Rhino is an odd one because they're just blatantly sheeping Meerkat and I. I'm not unsettled, really, by having similar reads to Meerkat, but I am about Rhino. Maybe I shouldn't be. "I still get a bad gut ping on Toucan that is unexplainable and also probably not deserved. Hyena... I just have no idea because if e!Falcon, e!Hyena makes a lot of sense but I also want to trust Meerkat's reads."
  3. “So your read of the manip is elim baiting? I guess that goes without saying. I’m not set on either way.”
  4. “Point of order— it was Ostrich, and I was the second vote. I never would have voted Falcon, and I doubt anyone else would have, if Ostrich hadn’t. “Though I say that with Falcon unflipped, so for all they’re village and there’s no credit that needs to be shuffled.”
  5. “That, or it’s like the Obli-gator mentioned and it’s only that the elims want us to think it’s e!Falcon. Unfortunately, it will be hard to tell the difference without just flipping Falcon anyway, but I do think the manip was more likely e than v due to the lack of it D1.”
  6. “That Smoker curse is no joke,” Willam said gravely. “A vote removed from Falcon is noteworthy when there was no manip on a close EoD D1, I think.”
  7. “I’ve mentioned multiple times today my desire to vote Falcon, but all those times they didn’t have any votes. Hyena definitely has that look, however obvious that would be, and if you’re right the two are just Ostrich/Hyena since it’s not me.”
  8. “I didn’t like all the Heron votes either, so maybe it evens out. And besides, it’s not as if Falcon has more votes.” “What are you afraid of?” Willam wondered. “Your vote on Falcon was pointless enough for it to be removed at the first chance of the train going over?”
  9. “I’ll second everything here^ “Dragonfly, Falcon. At this point I don’t have a preference between the two and will vote whichever has more at EoD. I think technically I’m turning a 2 vote Dragonfly train and a 1 vote Falcon train into a 1-2, so maybe that reveals a hidden preference.”
  10. Willam chuckled to himself. He definitely hadn’t said that only to get a reaction from Meerkat, why would you think that?
  11. "Don't effort clear us," Willam said with a wink. "I believe you're safe doing so today, but that's no guarantee for tomorrow." He paused. "Er. Figurative tomorrow. This isn't a conversion game, last I checked." Flamingo "Call me easy to sway. I think I mostly just like the lack of self pres." Dragonfly
  12. "I'm more inclined to read Weasel as village off the Dingo kill, since e!Weasel killing Dingo after the N1 debates seems a bit on-the-nose to me. I agree that e!Weasel doesn't happen without the elims thinking Dingo looks super village, and while I did read Dingo as leaning v after D1 it certainly wasn't my strongest read by any means. I also think it's possible that Dingo was killed after his post on e!Falcon. "About Toucan, I could see their comments in an e!Toucan world, but I'd be forcing it into my e lean of them, which wouldn't be ideal." "Yes, an e!Tineye2 world I think would make a decent chance of v!Rhino. I was speaking under that assumption, talking about that hypothetical, so it wasn't TMI, but thinking ahead. Impersonating another player would be a way to hide, but it's also using another player as a shield without consent. I, and I believe most other players, would sooner conceal their own identity by using an entirely different style rather than pretending to be someone else. I'd lament the case where Tineye!me pretended to be a low-profile player like Rhino, Rhino got killed for it, and flipped village Mistborn or something of the like." Willam walked briskly to a table, and picked up a sheet of paper where he had dictated his reads: Mild Village: Meerkat, Obli-gator Light Village: Swan, Weasel Null: Scorpion(-), Heron(+), Cham, Albatross, Flamingo(-), Ostrich(-), Mouse, Elephant(+), Penguin, Hyena(+) Light Evil: Toucan, Falcon, Lion Mild Evil: Dragonfly, Rhino "Disclaimer: The lower in the list you go, the messier it gets and the less I can articulate exactly why I think what I do. For Falcon, I think it's a bit of following Dingo's analysis of their post D1 and how it wasn't as good as it looked, but also I think that post of Dingo's might explain the Dingo kill. Dragonfly is a lot of gut, but I don't really want to give points for their three-reads thing and I don't like their voting history. "Rhino I'm divided on because I think that they're hiding behind their CR, but I also feel like that's too easy and I don't know how I feel about the people voting them. "I'm actually finding myself liking Heron's response, and Meerkat ninja'd me with an unvote on Falcon, so I'll tie it up by voting Flamingo to see what happens. "Don't be surprised if that vote changes. As you may have noticed, I read people as more evil than Flamingo."
  13. “It’s been said before, but I’ll say it again— When the Obli-gator said that there was vote manip, he was referring to the flipped Rioter. Thus, vote manip is in the game.” Willam took a glance at Lion’s summary. “Do you have any thoughts about C1 after rereading it?”
  14. “I would say that I read the Obli-gator as village, Elephant as null, and Toucan as elim,” Willam responded. “I would second the request of more of this, though without responses to each set of reads this won’t do much to help the thread. “So, that said— Dragonfly, is your elim read of Heron enough to be persuaded to switch?”
  15. Willam stared at the posts thusfar. "I swear I'd made one before," he mused. "Guess not. I've just been PMing." He regretted the oversight, but he'd had a busy day. "Some thoughts: "-I think Dingo could have been killed to implicate Weasel, which is shown with Dragonfly and Albatross, and as such I am a little more suspicious of them both because if that is why Dingo was killed the elims would want to follow that setup. "-Additionally, I think there is a decent likelihood that Tineye #2 is an elim. Their message appears to be trying to impersonate Rhino, and I don't believe any well-meaning villager would try to impersonate another due to the chance the elims might want to off the Tineyes at some point. I also don't think Rhino would be so obvious. "-Speaking of Rhino, them and anyone else who is hiding behind an anonymous playstyle has earned my watchful eye. I don't condemn anyone for playing into their CR, but there's a point where that can be used as an excuse to not do analysis or attempt to solve and I'd like it not to get to that point." Willam then considered the votes. "Right now, I'd be happy to add pressure to Mint Heron."
  16. "Ten minutes till and five minutes after, yes. In the middle, on a different tab doing different things. I blame my poor sense of time "
  17. "Of course not; 'inactive' is not synonymous with 'stupid'," Willam gently clarified. "Just, you only posted once yesterday and it wasn't one of game relevance, so saying 'Oops, I missed rollover' isn't as applicable whereas someone who contributed to discussion yesterday could say that and have it mean more." Willam cleared his throat. "Sorry I missed rollover, everyone. Though, I don't think I would have shifted my vote had I been there."
  18. "Guy missed a lot more than just rollover," Willam noted. "The problem with someone like Iguana dying is that we don't get a lot out of it. The standout to me would be Toucan's straight-up sheep of the Iguana vote, though I don't know if I necessarily read that as evil. If so I'd be interested in what the trains were at the time that follow occurred.
  19. "I find this post to be in a strange disagreement with this post in a way that doesn't sit right with me. Also, I've cooled off on suspecting you and don't really feel like adding to any of the other trains I can think of." Willam supposed that he couldn't simply leave that hanging. "@Onyx Flamingo, what made you vote Penguin in one post, then come back later and RP about what a villager Penguin is without referring back to anything else you've said?"
  20. Willam nodded in understanding. "Responding in RP is hard. Unless you just put everything you would say OOC in quotes and have your character cheekily break the fourth wall every other sentence. "" Knitting his hands together, Willam thought to add a disclaimer. "That being said, I wouldn't recommend this course of action to everyone. It somewhat takes the fun out of RPing, and is only useful if you don't particularly mind that. I'm the kind of person who has a character but doesn't do anything with them, and this forces me to, even if functionally nothing changes." Willam's eyes had glossed over somewhere during that sentence, and he blinked, coming back to his senses. "My, my. Where did that come from? No matter... returning to the response: "I'm not sure if I can agree with your first sentence there, as how it is framed changes rather a lot. I'm not sure what makes you think the Spiked would be so obvious about their TMI. I would say 'especially spiked!me' but, well, that wouldn't mean anything to you."
  21. "With regards to those mass-PMing," Willam began, "my first thought was that one and only one was Spiked, but I confess that line of thinking is completely unjustified. I don't think it's likely that two Spiked can be found in [Pearl, Hyena, Ostrich I think was the third], but there's really no reason they can't all be villagers. So I won't use it as reasoning, but, well, it's a feeling." He decided to next give some more reads. "Falcon I want to read village but I appreciate Dingo's picking apart of Falcon's post, as it subdues my desire to village read anyone willing to post a big analysis as of now. That being said, I do village read Meerkat quite a bit at the current moment, and I like the thinking behind their Heron vote. "As for the Obli-gator, I do village read them but not as much as advertised. I inflated my read of them to see how people would react; see if anyone would bite, and, well-- "Someone bit." Willam paused for dramatic effect. "While I don't think this is entirely condemning, I don't think Hyena suddenly pulling out an easy elim read after dodging the same question earlier looks good for them. "For clarity, I initially strong village read Obli-gator and asked for other opinions. Hyena commented on that post but avoided mentioning my village read, only now coming back to vote me for it after I've vocally suspected them. That's worthy of note, in my estimation." Willam raised a finger. "I can't say I particularly agree with Heron myself, but I will point out that Taltin Kerriel resembles an Iguana far more closely than a Scorpion."
