  1. I suppose that answers that question. Thank you sir. And I apologize for taking this off topic.
  2. Admittedly my understanding of the 5 scholars is limited and I haven't read any WOB on the topic but I still wonder if Nightblood was awakened using a full shard rather than just a lot of investiture. Does that contradict the "consumes but isn't strengthened by" statement? Could a shard consume investiture of another shard's investiture? Technically all of the Shards have equal power/strength (I think). So he wouldn't have to be getting stronger. (This sounds like stretch with the knowledge that I have so I defer to those who are better versed)
  3. Has anyone ever asked if there are any world hoppers on bridge four? It sounds like the kind of question that would be RAFO'd anyway but I thought I would ask. I am reading WoR again and I just feel like Bridge Four is such a prominent part of the books that there has to be something there that isn't blatantly obvious. Someone like Teft who has such a mysterious past and seems to be older mentally than he is physically. Then there is Lopin who came into bridge 4 with almost no fear or concern for what was going to happen to him. Then the way he talked his way into bridge 4. I think there may be more to him than what we know in these books.
  4. Completely agree. This wouldn't be true justice. However, I could see the individuals "perceiving" themselves as justice. Very similar to Nightblood. Which makes me wonder if Nightblood isn't a vessel for a Shard rather than just splintered investiture.
  5. When Pattern first tells Vivenna about Odium in WoR she also calls him hatred. "Odium." He spoke the word as if needing to force it out. Shallan wrote furiously. Odium, hatred, a type of spren? Is there such a thing as Honorable Hatred? A hatred for all things that are dishonorable. At this point honor spren seem to withdraw from anything dishonorable, but if they were combined with Odium it seems they would be more likely to destroy what was dishonorable. That sounds like Justice to me. At least a blind justice that is based on ones perception of dishonor.
  6. So much of what we know about the rules of breath came from Denth when he was deceiving Vivenna, which cannot necessarily be trusted. As we know now that there is a way to give a portion of your breath to someone else rather than all of it as Denth lead Vivenna to believe. We really need to sort through Warbreaker and determine what we learned from Denth and separate that from everything else we know.
  7. Are there any theories or information out there about shard plate for KR? Dalinar mentioned in one of his visions that the KR's helms seemed to disappear when he wasn't looking. This seems to indicate that plate, like blades, could be summoned and evaporate when called upon. Are there ideas of why this is? Perhaps once the KR reaches a higher level or when they speak a higher oath? Are the blade and plate the same spren or are they different? (follow-up questions incoming).
  8. Haha. This one sentence almost has more contradictions and incorrect assumptions than it has words. This is probably the saddest part of the post... I do love theories though. I wonder what the benefit of trolling this page is?
  9. Has Brandon ever spoken about Kelsier's return to the physical realm? The body that he has seems to still have the scars on his arms but also has a spike in his eye. I am wondering if cognitive shadows can be spiked with hemalurgy or if they can be stabbed and then that spike used in a body to put the shadow into it. If that is the case, what does that mean for spren in the cognitive realm? I am looking for any and all theories and information. Thanks in advance.
  10. Welcome. I too consider the Cosmere a discovery of epic proportions. What a wonderful journey we will all take for many years to come.
  11. Thank you both. I will take what I can get. Hopefully White Sand is fixed soon.
  12. Hey guys. I was told that I needed to request Aether of Night on here. Does anyone know where I might get it? I also signed up for the newsletter for white sand bit the link didn't work. I am just looking for anything I can get my hands on and I feel like there is so much that I don't know. Thanks I'm advance.
  13. You are absolutely not alone. I think there are about 2000 pages of that series that could be removed and the series wouldn't lose much. Sanderson did a great job of bringing it all together in the end though.
  14. Welcome to the group. I love Stormlight as well. My favorite character besides Khaladin is probably Adolin.
  15. Welcome. Cookies are ok but don't give away your breath for free. Even the Hallandren Gods paid their subjects for them at least. If you are a follower of the iridescent tones I would recommend asking for a years worth of food.
  16. It's not just Sazed, but all of the Terris people. Feruchemist have so much potential and yet they are so docile. I don't know how much of that goes back to pre-Final Empire and how much is forced upon them as they were hunted down and killed, but in a world of Emporors and Conquerors the Feruchemists could really make a big difference. As we saw with Sazed and Tindwyl.
  17. Rioting and Soothing are subtle arts. The most effective Mistings being those who can riot or soothe an emotion without being noticed. Soothing all but one emotion and rioting that same emotion would undoubtedly reveal the mistborn/mistings touch. Vin however, was exceptionally skilled and would sometimes help Elend by soothing his insecurity and rioting his confidence. This may be why she was so much better than Breeze who could only soothe emotions away and hope whatever emotion was left was strong enough to encourage action. So in answer to your question I would say it is definitely possible, but will only be effective when done by a Mistborn or a highly trained group of Mistings (like Breeze's group at the hideout) who is controlling both metals.
  18. Thanks to everyone for the upvotes. I just finished re-reading Warbreaker so while I may be new I am not so new as to see my breath's value as equivalent to that of a single cookie. Three or four maybe. My favorite character right now is a tie between Wax and Wayne. Those two are so perfectly opposite that they fit together like puzzle pieces and truly seem to get out of the most impossible situations. The complete trust that the have in one another is inspiring. May favorite book is probably Oathbringer because of the amount of information contained in it. It is such a fantastic set-up book. Sazed is a great character, though I have always struggled with the "slow to act" mentality of the Terris people. It is great for the book and sets up perfectly for his ascension to Harmony, but my brain wants characters with great power to use it.
  19. So I am wondering if Brandon has ever given any extra information on speed bubbles. To my knowledge, no one in the books has ever been caught halfway in and out of a speed bubble (correct me if I am wrong). I know that bullets gets deflected crazy ways inside of them, but what would happen to arms and limbs of people caught in a speed bubble. Is their speed dependent upon their connection to their brain? i.e. if the head is caught out of the speed bubble then the arm or leg would still move slowly in a speed bubble? Also, what manifestations (if any) are there in Shadesmar of bubbles?
  20. Hello all, I, like many of you was introduced to Brandon through TWOT back in 2010. I took a few years off reading other books before I made my way back to Brandon. I really regret it. I picked up the Mistborn series in 2016 and I have since read every Cosmere book twice. This concept is so intriguing to me that I find myself thinking about the Cosmere often throughout my day. I know that there is so much to learn from other readers here so I look forward to interacting with all of you.
  21. Thanks to all. I suppose the disconnect for me was the direct connection between Endowment/being a native Nalthisian as a requirement for a Returned. After all, I am beginning to feel that ANYTHING is possible in this cosmere. Obviously Wax does not show any of the signs of a Nalthis Returned but I was thinking maybe since Harmony is a different shard entirely that perhaps his Returned would be somewhat different/express different traits. Especially since we see that Nalthis returned can feed off of the investiture of other planets I thought perhaps they could all have their own returned as well. However, I see that Wax probably never truly died. And since Harmony is a fully non splintered shard who doesn't seem to have much information regarding the other shards I doubt that he would be mimicking Endowment. Thank you all for your information.
  22. I have looked around and I haven't seen this question asked yet so I thought I would throw it out there. What are the chances that Waxillium Ladrian is a Returned. During Lightsong's vision whilst imprisoned he remembers dieing and being sent back as a returned. I don't know of any inclination of Wax being Returned after choosing to come back, nor do I know any specific connection between Harmony and Endowment. So I am wondering if any of you have any information that could confirm or deny this possibility would be cool. Obviously Scadrial Returned would be different than Nalthis Returned as they have different investiture. What do you guys think?
