  1. Haha yes I forget. Brilliant films.
  2. I live in New Zealand (that country near Australia), in Tauranga a coastal city, moving to Hamilton though for Uni. Both 'cities' are in the North Island and yeah. It's a swell place. A warm place, never gets too cold. Never snows, rains on and off nothing excessive. Hardly anyone I know is into Sanderson though. Just people who I introduce it too. But for an exception, awesomely, my English lecturer and tutor are great fans of Sanderson. Though never got to discuss much with them.
  3. Pokemon and Skyrim and some AoE every now and then =)
  4. My favourite book so far would have to be The Harsh Cry of the Heron by Lian Hearn. Beautiful book, haunting, tragic, powerful and just exhausting. I admire Hearn's command of language making every sentence a soft breeze even if that soft breeze does sometimes punch you in the gut. There may be moments where she cheats with too much telling and the like but these are small things. This book is the last ,in chronology, of the Tales of the Otori series which are all good but this one is the one I will never stop going back to. Just beautiful story from start to finish. But a warning Hearn basically goes all Martin on her characters so deaths are frequent and the ending though not entirely bad is much more in kin with a Shakespearean tragedy than "they lived happily ever after,".
  5. Just because no one had commented for three years... =) Been into it since 2007 I think, so David Tennant My favourite thing about Doctor Who is the Doctor himself his energy no matter who plays him is just captivating. Always loved smart heroes too. My favourite Doctor is... well maybe Matt Smith's but normally is the most recent one for me. They're all awesome anyways. Weeping angels in Blink, were ace horrors but since their continuing reinstatement they've grown less so. The Silence and the Vashta Nerada on the other hand, scaaary!
  6. I absolutely loved this book. It was exhausting, rewarding and absolutely epic. Of course I do have some misgivings, I know some people believed too many characters met their ends, but I have the opposite opinion, I was absolutely convinced that one of the ta'veren boys had to die, that all three came close just to spring back miraculously seemed to make light of the gravity of the situation. The other thing was the zero build up of Fain's end battle with Mat, of course it's been foreshadowed enough through out the series but there was nothing in the book to suggest Fain was even active until he sprang onto the scene with a new name. But really these things do not bother me overly much and with further re-reads I will definitely come to see why it ended up like this. The very ending itself I thought was perfect, just open enough to let the world breath (and the theory boards still rolling) but final enough to bring closure. Amazing end to an amazing ride.
  7. Just something interesting I found while exploring Skyrim.

    RAODEN & IEN

    Painting I did on Photoshop.
  9. Lord Redeem... not the Lord Ruler sorry for the confusion. He's a very minor character that is mentioned in Elantris but never on screen.
  10. Yeah well this will either provoke zero discussion or crazy suggestions as we have really no evidence for any of the worldhoppers other than Hoid, Demoux and Galladon. But yeah I just thought it would be interesting to see what other characters seem suspicious to people. I'm supremely suspicious of Lord Redeem just by virtue of his incongruous name and his random mention in Elantris. Anyways my only excuse is that if there were any place for wild speculation it's here in the wacky and wonderful den of the 17th Shard =)
  11. Great info as always windy =) Yeah I was thinking the same thing about the Fjordell ignoring other places and Teod can sort of be counted as part of the continent even though it isn't really just by association if that makes sense? And where does the red armoured ambassador fit in all this? Does that mean the fjordell empire is still going during Emperor's Soul? Sorry heaps of questions but yeah just curious. Great ShardCast too by the way and you couldn't really tell it was late =) Oh and annotated version... what's this?
  12. Thanks for getting back to me that's super helpful and cleared up everything =) But yeah I won't be getting involved until I have steady internet access again. But yeah it's awesome to have so much great help. And I look forward to it =)
  13. The themes from Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood bar two and most of the Adventure Time tunes and a cool little album called Defining Moments by This Armistice.
  14. Wow... wait, what? How do we know this? Haven't heard anything about Demoux being in Elantris before...
  15. Post something for Shard's sake =P

  16. However you pronounce the two aons that make it. So according to Brandon however you want really. But I pronounce it Ear-ra-Do-me.
  17. Keep it up I really love listening to these. Makes my own re-read of Elantris that much more engaging and indeed humorous =) You guys are awesome!
  18. Well I joined not long ago and was reading through Elantris (my first Cosmere book, now on my reread of it still just as good) at the time. So I wanted a name made from the aons. And I also like Doctor Who. Ire means time and well Domi really means love it is the name of their God which sort of gives it another meaning of Lord in being used that way. So yeah loosely my name means Timelord. And that's that in my long winded broken English.
  19. Yes I noticed the similarity of Vasher's contemplations to Ruin and Preservation too having read them all around the same time. Has there been anything about how Shards may influence the overall Cosmere or was the "shadows" thing the only thing we have about this?
  20. I looked into it a bit more and apparently there are going to be two more books, a prequel and a sequel which will both delve deeper into 'dust' I think. I for one would like a more focused story residing exclusively in Lyra's world without all the inter-dimensional travel which I feel did not help the latter two books. The world of Northern Lights was enthralling and I feel it could be explored further.
  21. He's writing a sequel apparently which he started writing aeons ago. Any ideas on what he could/would possibly add to his story in the sequel? Or anything you would want to see?

  23. I think I would have to say my least favourite would be Iadon, just because he seemed like the most repellent character in the books. Somewhere close to being a bad guy but not really a worthy anbtogonist just really pathetic and sadistic to go with it. I'm not sure he was a badly written character but I just really don't like the guy. And to top it off he kills himself and doesn't even face his punishment. So yeah. There are my two cents thrown into an old unused well.

    Not Alone

Based off of the the original sketch I drew. I used the programme MyPaint since I can't actually paint. So enjoy... or otherwise =)
  25. I liked Adien but he wasn't a very fully fleshed character. But I would say Galadon was my favourite. I loved how he was the exception to his people, and he was a great counter point to Raoden.
