  1. They are the closest to Honor of the Radiants. So they have protect others, protect even an enemy if its right, and protect "myself". So why not keep it simple and true to what they stand for. "I will protect life with Honor"
  2. Sandersons non-cosmere books are great. Rithmatist, Reckoners and even Alcatraz were good fun. Although Id be jumping onto Jim Butchers Dresden Files as well. They're a great read!
  3. Maybe the power of the shards latched onto the personality types closest to their Intent? Ati might have been an anarchist, Ive known a few of them who are lovely people. Thus Ruin who was a kind man. Tanavast may have been the most honorable? Maybe married to Cultivations vessel? We know they were an item. The honorable husband and his cultivating wife maybe. We know that Odium was a hateful man before the he took the Shard. Although thats Hoids (if he is the author of the letter) opinion of him so that might be biased.
  4. So by "rejecting the rest of us and stop interfering" can we make an assumption that he was unhappy with what they were doing and regretted his inaction? Just wondering because Im running on the theory he wants to re-assemble Adonalsium.

    Shardpools

I thought that atium and lerasium were just a natural by-product of their respective pool. Im fairly certain that Ruins pool was below the pits and atium formed from what "bubbled out" so to speak. Sort of like what the Tears of Edgli do. They only grow naturally in one spot which has been speculated (not confirmed to my knowledge) to be near Endowments shardpool. I always thought their would have been more lerasium beads forming if the pool was left full. But since it was constantly refilling only to be drained again it rarely happened.
  6. Thanks guys and gals. Yeah I've been racking my brain trying to figure out what effects burning different god-metals would be. Harmonium just seems like a massive tease. "Heres a metal of 2 Shards but you cant burn it, ner ner!"
  7. I just remembered the problem of identity though. Vin tried to burn Sazeds coppermind. She could sense the power but she couldnt tap it. This might apply to shardblades as well since the Spren and the Radiant would be invested in the blade giving its own identity. Unless said Radiant was a feruchemist and removed its identity I dont think it would be possible. Compounders burn invested metal. But only their own.
  8. 1. You cant destroy power in the cosmere. In the Q&A's Brandon said that Rayse destroyed the Shards on Sel by putting all the power into the cognitive realm. This is what makes worldhopping dangerous on Sel. Thats why Kelsier had to hold the power of Preservation for Vin after Leras died. All hes said is bad things happen when the power of the shard doesnt have a vessel to contain it. 2. Usually yes Im guessing. Im just speculating here but in all cases when the power is splintered the vessel is dead. Although I have a theory that Cultivation is Splintered yet alive but thats another issue. 3. Currently unknown. Im guessing that maybe another Vessel could gather the wild power together but seems outside the reach of the average joe. So if Harmony visited Sel he might be able to pull all the parts of Dominion and Devotion back into order. But since all the Shards we've seen seem to be tied to their planet of choice this is doubtful. Thats my take anyway so dont take it as canon. A lot of this is still speculation at this point.
  9. Yeah she wasnt actually able to burn it. She could sense the power it held but couldnt tap it. That would be due to its identity. So I guess you wouldnt be able to burn a shardblade for similar reasons. It would hold its own identity through the spren and the radiant. You'd need a feruchemist radiant to remove identity like the bands of mourning to achieve the desired results. Just speculation though.
  10. Did Harmony deliberately make harmonium react violently with water to stop people burning it? As a god-metal of both shards it would have properties similar to lerasium and atium so was this Harmonys way of limiting its potential use?
  11. Oh good one! I didnt think of what effect that would have on the spren? I wonder if the Mistborn would hear it scream like a Radiant who holds a "dead" blade?
  12. Thanks for the answer guys and gals!
  13. Hey pretty simple question but I cant find any answers for it in the Q&A's. Did Hoid oppose the splitting of Adonalsium? I know that time and anything to do with Hoid is usually RAFO'd but seeing as he was there and knew all the people involved but didnt get a shard seems to imply that he was either a bystander, missed out on a shard or against what was being done.
  14. TLR and Marsh could probably pull it off although the problem being the damge the shardblade would do to your spiritweb. I wish Sanderson would visit Australia again so I can hit him with another round of questions. Hehehe then just for good measure add another Duralinum flare. Still curious on what abilities other god metals give when burned.
  15. Hi Bugsy, currently read through all released mistborn, both stormlight, watbreaker, elantris, and emperors soul. Also rithmatist, all the reckoners, alcatraz, and legion for good measure though theyre not cosmere. Currently missing just the short stories and novellas.
  16. Hi guys Im new here but been floating through reading all the theories for a long time. Met Brandon years ago when he visited Melbourne, Australia and bombarded him with questions and really hooked the cosmere addiction deep so here I am. Wanted to run a question by you. Mistborn is stabbed by a shardblade. Now its been confirmed that you dont need to ingest a metal to burn it, so my theory is could the Mistborn flare the metal of the blade as it enters and essentially hurl himself into the spiritual realm like Elend did with his Atium/Duralinum? Essentially using a highly invested god-metal (could be wrong but Im fairly certain a shardblade could be counted as god-metal). Now I know the quantity of metal doesnt really work so lets just say its a shardblade rapier like Yasnah uses and only just the tip (hehehe). Just to avoid that argument.
  17. Also sorry just realised this is not the place for theories. My bad.
