Ok, well here’s my two coppers on Hoid... He is like Gandalf for those of you who understand that particular archetype. He is not one to directly intervene unless it serves his direct purpose. It has been stated he is on a quest of some sort. Most will guess that’s the downfall of Odium but it might not be... But the main area he is pertinent is that Hoid in helping the main characters would draw Odium’s attention. Enough of these andHoid would be spotted so he helps in little ways, usually behind the scenes to avoid further scrutiny. He can play on Rayse’s hubris to a certain degree but if he shows up too much one of the Fused or Unmade is gonna bring it to their master’s attention then Hoid will either have to step out or step up. At this point it seems to be too soon or Hoid isn’t far enough in his quest to actually do much about it yet. We know Hoid is going to be the main protagonist eventually (MB era4, which has interesting connotations itself if Odium is his target...) but before then I doubt we will see him interacting as anything but a sideline coach...

Well if his desk collection is any indication he also had a suspicious vial of white sand up there with all his other oddities...

To Govir, Ahhh you are right I was getting them mixed up, I keep forgetting he’s only at three. But I still think spending time with them has a relationship to the Windrunners fourth ideal... which still irks me that we won’t be seeing Kal in his shardplate anytime soon, if the other two books formulas for ideals is any indication we will probably have to wait until the fourth book for his plate...meh

Just a guess but something will occur to make Shallan think she is not good enough for Adolin, putting him up on some kind of pedestal because he’s not a radiant he wouldn’t be safe with her as she falls further into her disassociate state. This probably occurring almost simultaneously as Adolin speaks his first oath, with all of this occurring around an important event that “seals the deal” for one of the already introduced mains down the “path of good intentions” that ultimately culminates into one of them becoming Odium’s champion. My bet would be Shallan, due to the nine shadows hint...she’s already got three so far, perhaps more with her bout with midnighty mom in the underbelly of Urithiru...

Isn’t the importance of this tied to his next paths, “I will protect even those who are my enemies”... or something along those lines?
