  1. By far my favourite character I played was Astiel Scarath. The schizophrenic illusionist. I started the game as a bard, getting an 18 in charisma, combined with a couple of the home-brew magical items I found, and my proficiencies I was getting +16s in my persuasion, performance and intimidation. So most people believed what I said (much to the GM's disapproval) But here's the fun part My character was insanely schizophrenic, and had acquired a cursed item that made his hallucinations into illusions. That, combined with my deck of illusions made everyone in the party have no idea what was real and fake. Like the time I thought a trading ship was a lava Kraken. In an ocean. In our campaign we were at sea for most of it. And we rolled a Decimal Die for encounters, the GM then sends an encounter our way once every 6 hours or so, The GM ALSO controlled my hallucinations. So instead of the party seeing two trading ships sailing towards us. They saw a giant lave kraken in the middle of the ocean roaring and screaming bloody murder. After killing what we thought was the lava kraken (yes, we stayed and fought it cause we were idiots) The illusion vanished and we saw the bodies of the crew we killed and now we are wanted by several countries because things like that keep happening to us.
  2. Devaan grinned and Leapt at Typhoon, muttering to his cloak "flay those I fight" The aluminium tips glinted in the sunlight and began tearing into his opponent, attempting to force their way through the armour, slithering through any cracks and joints while Devaan attempted to rip off Typhoon's helmet
  3. Devaan heard the howl in the distance and grinned. Things were looking up, Akrasia was coming.
  4. Devaan stood up, barely a scratch on him after he was flown through the air. Those Aon's were incredible. "Veil. Good to have you here" "I saw what was happening and wanted to help, sorry about the roof" "It's fine. I'll bill you later" "Wait what?" "Follow my lead, be tricky. I want that armor off of him. If I attack from one side, you try pull a piece off from the other, and be careful about his shields. They can slap you around" Devaan gave his teammate a focus card. "Tap that" A white line formed between Devaan and Veil "It's like the spirit tether, but for healing" He told her Devaan then rushed forwards, throwing a bladed glove at the palm of typhoon's gauntlet then darting in under his sword, reaching up and using another card to stab his opponent through the eye visor. Hopefully that did some damage. He ducked under Typhoon's attempt to trap him with a grab and kicked him in the chest, It didn't do much, but it felt really good.
  5. Devaan stepped up and faced the killer. He was on his own, but he made some calls and sent the elantrian who recharged his cards to spread some words out to the right people. 12 hours. Then he wins the fight by default. He stepped towards the killer. The man who attempted to murder solace. And succeeded in killing Rashan, his friend. you ready? The spren whispered inside his head "yeah" Devaan said And then he ran straight at Typhoon, as fast as he could, combining his greatly enhanced physical abilities from Aon Dor with his feruchemical steel to run blindingly fast towards his enemy, he aimed low, keeping his guard ready and slashed with sethramir at his opponent's stomach in one fluid motion, darting back into a defensive stance.
  6. "My apologies" Devaan smirked "I never meant to imply that you were five! You are obviously a very, mature, smart and intelligent seven year old! Now go have a conversation with this Ralerin if you would. I'm sure he has very interesting things to say. Do you have interesting things to say Ralerin?" "Yes?" "Right answer, chop chop!" Devaan ushered Ralerin towards Mejin. "Now, Ethil, using your cadmium allomancy can be very powerful in conjunction with other teamates, I'm a founder of a martial arts that are made for various mistings and ferrings. In it, the discipline for allomatic cadmium is what's known as a stall discipline, locking enemies into a one on one fight with you in favourable conditions while the rest of your team get into position to take the opponents out. It can be very potent. As per the training course, I want you sometime today to lock Ralerin into a cadmium bubble, get your dueling canes out and have a go. Be unpredictable, drop your bubbles and change the time dilation often. confuse the enemy, and do your best to capitalise on opportunities when your opponent has commited to attacks, are off balance or have dropped their guard. Fighting with dueling canes relies entirely on dropping in and out of guard and abusing the lighter weights compared to broadswords and axes."
  7. Devaan looked towards Ralerin "Hey there! you come over here and take a look at what Ethil did wrong!" "Uh..." "Exactly! He let his guard down! Rule number one here is to never let your guard down!" "Now Ethil, good instincts on your part, but you have to be aware of opportunities to counterattack, I went for a straight, low lunge, a stupid move. If you sidestepped left, away from the other cane in my right hand, you could have landed a hit on me. Try lunge at me as I did, right hand extended, straight. All the power and speed, and I'll show you what you can do." Ethil performed the move that Devaan showed him Devaan sidestepped quickly, and struck him in the back of the neck with a dueling cane, immediately darting in and out of a relaxed guard. "Did you two get that?" "Yes" they both said in unison "Good, Ethil, I want you with me as I teach you how to use dueling canes properly, you are fighting too passively to exploit your strengths." "Understood" "And you, what's your name?" "Ralerin, sir, I'd heard of this place and need training in one on one combat. I'm a second Ideal sky breaker" "Ok Ralerin, you go over there and look at the weapons and chat up your lady friend who's been watching us on the edges of the training ground while I slap Ethil over here around a bit, you got it?" "Ok!"
  8. "Dueling canes it is!" Devaan gave a pair to his new pupil, and took a pair for himself "Lets see what you can do" He pointed his weapon at Ethil, and ran at him and made an open lunge for his opponent's stomach, dropping his guard entirely step one, see if they can capitalise on counter-attacks
  9. Devaan watched as Nearmen flew herself into the wall. Devaan couldn't help it, he laughed, and his teammate glared at him "What! It was funny!" Devaan told her "What is that?" "Aonic Shielding, funnily enough, it's not one way." Devaan had to give her credit, whatever martial arts she just used had power, that dance showed strength, and she was brave enough to stay, when others had left Devaan ran over to Naermen, his body blurring, he wasn't even tapping any steel, the power of AonDor coursing through him made him fast enough to blur around. "Here, get back inside we need to stock up, this will help with the pain" Devaan tapped a hidden Aon that sent waves of calm through him and all those within, smothering the pain with a sense of serenity, not too much to limit active thinking, but enough to make people more relaxed. Leading Naermen to a weapons rack, filled with Hatchets, swords, daggers, staves and several other different types of weapons "Pick a weapon if you feel like it, I've got my own here" Devaan tells her, gesturing to sethramir.
  10. "Well ok, come and see what weapon you would like to wield" Devaan lead the man to a rack of weapons sitting outside his house, an array of Swords, staves, whips, chains, knives, hatchets, spears, javelins, lances, etc, etc. "Pick what seems right to you" Devaan said
  11. Devaan saw Hazekiller running towards the door. How could he get here? how did he know? "Anyone who wants to get out of here, go with solace to the alley verse, here's one of my last Tia cards" Devaan said "I'll stall him" He noticed Hazekiller was still decaying, flaking away. He only had to stall for 12 hours till rigor mortis would set in, paralysing him. Devaan flipped a lever. This Typhoon dared to fight him in his own home? An Aonic shield grew around the house, stopping Typhoon in his tracks, other sigils around the house lit up, each of them keyed to enhance Devaan's strength, speed, endurance, healing, mental abilities and reaction timing, each of them being funnelled from a direct connection to the Dor due to the stack of connection minds powering each individual Aon. Devaan began to glow softly with Aonic energy as he watched Typhoon stare at the Aonic Shield. the only way to get through that was to undergo Dakhor training.
  12. "Of course, but allow me to fix Rashan first, my card is done, my elantrian friend couldn't stay after taking my precious coin, but he charged the card." Devaan put the card in Rashan's hand, it glowed with Aonic Energy as he reflexively tapped it, he gasped, alive and looked down at his chest, where his shard blade wound was not too long ago "I'm... Alive?" "Yeah." "How?" A spren flitted around Devaan, he looked to it and smiled "I remember those who have been forgotten"
  13. "So, what is it that you wish to learn?" Devaan asked, hopping up "Do you wish to command armies? Or quietly stab people in the back, undetected. Or do you wish to be able to stand against many enemies with a smile on your face, knowing you can win? Do you wish to fight with a partner? on your own in duels?" Devaan walked over to him "I need the answer to that, and what magic you can use"
  14. "So, which one of you two are gonna go and keep rashan company?" Devaan said, walking into a secret room by opening a hidden door disguised in a bookshelf His card-making lab. He set to work, melting the nicrocil, he had to call in some favours from an Elantrian, thats gonna cost some so he can charge a focus card.
  15. "Naermen? I've heard about you. someone tried to assassinate Solace, and succeeded, while we were trying to save him, someone who I assume is a TUBA assassin came to finish the job. We got him out, but the assassin is practically unstoppable, Rashan tried, and got stabbed in the chest. I need someone to get into the cognitive realm and keep charging his shadow with investiture. He should be walking with Harmony as we speak. I need about 4 hours to make a soul bond card and bronze spike, what investiture do you have access to?"
  16. Devaan instinctively used his stormlight. Time spent practicing with unsealed metalminds paying off, he slid off of Typhoon, frictionless. Grabbed Solace, LiTaiRu and Rashan by tapping almost all of his steel reserves. Get out of here He heard a voice whisper in his head all the gemstones around the room were broken, that storming bird. He used one of the cards he put up his sleeve, just in case things went as bad as they did. He tapped the card dry completely, and Devaan, Li, Rashan and Solace vanished. "Where are we?" LiTaiRu asked, they were standing in a wooden cottage, there was a dining table surrounded by leather chairs, there was a corridoor to the left of the dining room that led into what appeared to be bedrooms "My home. It's hidden away. no one knows of it but us, I have beds and food, you are welcome here so long as you don't tell a soul"
  17. Devaan saw Hazekiller coming, and the loss of Rashan was smothered by rage. Hazekiller was exceptionally well trained. But Devaan dodged the attack by jumping back. Devaan threw a bladed card, then launched himself at his opponent, sethramir extended, Aon Sheo trailing behind him. He collided with Hazekiller, slicing his arm with sethramir. and then detonated Aon Sheo a wave a death spread out from Devaan's right hand hitting Typhoon and sending him flying backwards. the Mistcloak attempting to rend him to pieces. His opponent would slowly decay until he died. His work was done here. He just had to live until he expired. And then Hazekiller pinned him to the ground, and stabbed him in the gut. The Shardblade went straight through. Devaan let out a gasp, then collapsed, drifting towards death. Fighting to stay alive. He looked to Rashan. He was skilled, he was strong. what would happen to him in the grand scheme of things? He could have been great, but now he's dead. Forgotten. Abandoned. no That wasn't Devaan's voice in his head you will remember What was that? It didn't matter, he had more pressing things to worry about say the words Words? what words? the words A lightning bolt ran through Devaan's spine. "Life Before Death" Devaan said, glaring at Typhoon "Strength Before Weakness" Devaan stood, shard blade locked in place, buried in his gut "Journey before destination" "Thats the problem with you, you kill, then you forget. I remember all the faces. All the screams." Devaan looked to Rashan "I will remember those who have been forgotten" And then inhaled all the spheres left in the room, those in Rashan's pouch, those used as lanterns to light the room, those that solace is holding on to. and ripped the shard blade out, healing immediately. Rashan's wounds began to heal as well. The tether! of course! he might still make it, with his Veo as a link, he could return. Devaan Looked towards the decaying Typhoon "Lets dance" Devaan said, rushing forward with a flurry of quick, measured attacks, darting in and out of guard with sethramir.
  18. Devaan dropped the bubble. With white light connecting the three fighters, Devaan raised his blade. "I'm not gonna lie to you. This is gonna hurt" He said to Hazekiller
