  1. how do we know he can heal well (can't remember him doing it any of the books)
  2. @StormblessDave I was with you there - I assumed it was at least an enclave of cultivation's power (not exclusively where it was felt but more the center of the power (bit like Luthadel in the Lord Rulers day). but that's because the the Storms aren't felt there - so that the more benign environment allows "lazy" grass etc. So Honor's presence (the highstorms/stormfather splinter) was felt in the stormy areas but less prominent in cultivations area. No idea if the everstorm would hit Shinovar and destroy all the grass etc... waiting to find out in the new book. I kind off assume it wont though for the same reason - Cultivation is still alive and that's her stronghold..... am i totally wrong then @Calderis?
  3. many already mentioned Kaladin will return home to find father dead which will trigger another round of "why can't i protect everyone" doubts Andolin will have to leave Urithiru, Renarin will go with him possibly with some bridge 4ers, they'll get into some trouble - it'll look like Andolin has been mortally wounded, bridge 4ers will return to Urithiru to tell Shallan which will trigger her getting closer romantically to kaladin. meanwhile Renarin will save Andolin and "step up" becoming a much more dependable and resourceful individual and step out of his brothers limelight Dalinar's boon and curse will be revealed as the same thing - to forget his wife Shallan will get deeper into the Ghost blood folks and start to see the "good" they are intending Vasher will continue to be a minor part and will not reveal any magic skills Nightblood will only have a tiny part to play only mentioning he destruction of evil once
  4. I read them the other way around - stormlight first, didn't get any of the colour imagery or references to nightblood - but when I was reading the warbreaker book he's described in the same way, difficult to define his age but with "old" or wise eyes. Id just put down stormlight so it was weird to have the same descriptions, didn't even know about cosmere link at the time!
  5. I'm with Azul, I think it's as simple as he was in so much grief that he wanted to forget his wife (so he could feel more pain, or to be able to function from a lack of guilt etc) and that was the boon he asked for. Nightwatcher has the foresight to realize that he wont always feel that way, that grief goes through a cycle and whilst the memories bring pain/guilt right now they would also be pleasurable and left to his own devices he would be able to remember his wife fondly without pain. So both the boon and the curse were to forget his wife. If Night watcher gives in proportion to what she takes this would work out fairly similar.
  6. Thanks
  7. Cheers both, Zehel is the guy with the talking sword, Vasher I think - did he give it to someone though? Szeth or the woman who cuts up paintings?
  8. Haha, just written a question on that in the Q and A section, don't know if it's worth ready on a Kindle or I should get a paper copy for the graphic novel element
  9. Apologies have looked around but can't find a definitive answer. When Wit visits Kaladin in prison (WoR) he tunes a stringed instrument and comments something like "so much easier with perfect pitch". I seem to remember that perfect pitch was achieved with a certain amount of "breaths" on the Warbreaker world. We know he visited there (the warbreaker world) as a storyteller/historian. Does this mean he has these breaths and they work on the stormlight world? Is this what BS means by an easter egg?
  10. Hi, looking to read Arcanum unbounded (have finished Stormlight 1+2, Mistborn, Elantris and Warbreaker). I hear that part of it is a graphic novel ... will i be missing out if i try and read it on a kindle (old paperwhite version - not a colour one)? Maps, illustrations etc in the books tend to be pretty rubbish and i end up looking them up on the net
  11. Hello A year ago I Googled "what else will I like if I liked reading Game of Thrones?" - one of the first few series i stumbled across and high on most of the lists was Way of the Kings and the Stormlight series. Finished that and thought wow that was good... what else has he done - finished the 2 Mistborn series. Then read a bit more on the internet to see what next and found that they were linked... MIND BLOWN! Devoured Warbreaker and Elantris - and even managed to miss any Easter eggs in both of those! Now a fully fledged fan and can't wait for Oathbreaker.
