  1. To be honest Oathbringer just blew my mind. I mean, every time you think the story will go somewhere you can cmpletely understand Brandon's like "Confusion before clarity! Journey before Destination!" and we're back to square 1. Why else do you think he had Dalinar, I don't know, fuse freaknig REALM'S together???
  2. Think about it... You're in a battle which you're struggling with, and you might lose. Out of nowhere appears Saitama...err Szeth...flying in the sky and holding a blade bleeding smoke and destroying your enemies, in all his bald glory. Would you really stand up and say "Get lost bro, I don't need you"?
  3. TBH Dresden Files and The Aeronaut's Windlass were pretty good, but its not like we can compare them. I mean, on one side there's a lone 600 page book and on the other is a series with, what, fifteen books and thousands of pages... Scale breaks, right?
  4. BURN THE HERETIC! BURN HIM! DESTROY HIM! DEESTROOOOYYYYY HIIIIIII... *pulled away by the moderators into a closed room...*
  5. Brent Weeks is better known for his Night Angel Trilogy but Lightbringer is waaaaaay better in my opinion... Please don't shoot me
  6. If you trust me on anything, trust me when I say that Night Angel has so many flaws it almost isn't worth your time, and if you decide not to read it you'd be better off.
  7. It's worth mentioning at this point that burning someone else's hemalurgic spike causes a splice between your DNA and theirs, according to a word of Brandon found...somewhere on Arcanum
  8. Era 1 Spoilers: Lerasium for Era 1 because it is God incarnate and God's word is law
  9. Nah its Glokta that really had me hooked. I mean, who wouldn't want to hear the iner thoughts of a crippled fifty-year-old torturer?
  10. Thanks bro/sis (this gender accomodation is painful), I might just push on
  11. Problem here is that I'm broke and I had to wait two weeks until the local library bought it. My pocket money as a fifteen year old did nit suffice. That said, I'm almost done anyway... PLEASE DON'T LET IT EEEEEEENNNNNNNNDDDDDD
  12. Currently shooting cute bullets in Enter The Gungeon and still trying to get past The Keep...oh, I'm also playing Asassin's Creed 1 all over again because my PC downgraded (Don't ask)
  13. Why the hell is anybody posting here at this time of the year? OF COURSE we're all reading Oathbringer...
  14. Really? I mean it is slower and less eventful and more lackluster and stranger and more confusing and has almost no characters with anything special, but its got to have some positives... Nah not really, I take that back. Except for maybe Amakusa Shirou Any reccomendations?
  15. Currently just started reading Malazan, due to the prodding and pulling of some very obvious sources... However, I'm finding the pace a little too slow, the way he presents some groundbreaking information too subtle, and some things we needto know are unexplained (how warrens work for example). I'm still going to read it but does this continue in book 2 because if it does I might just delve into the wiki
  16. Wow... You straight out put way more effort into that than I did...It's so nice to see someone with so much raw awesomeness
  17. Not really my creation but I ran into it while watching anime and I was like "Recreance!!!!". From Fate:UBW
  18. From the album: How I imagined the Recreance

  19. Guess who's back, back againJasnah's back, tell a friendGuess who's back, guess who's backGuess who's back, guess who's back
  20. i've lost my path, so guide me, Ye who guide the lost and save the weak... What in the bloody hell should I listen to now?? I am always lost when it comes to this topic. I listen to anything that captures my interest, play it on loop for about three days straight, then lose ibterest and find something else. My hope is that by asking for recommendations from people I can find a genre or artist that captures my interest permanently, so please recommend some songs...
  21. I hate to break all the boundaries here but I'm watching Shokugeki no Soma: San no Sara, Fate:Apocrypha, and Code Geass. It's kinda a hobby for me to burst into discussions about western TV series and bomb the participants with a really nerdy anime or manga reference (not that I have anything against Western TV shows).
  22. Finally, I meet another Gentlemen Bastard fan. The world is a bit lacking on those at the moment... Any update on when Thorn of Emberlain is scheduled to release, or if Lynch got over his depression?
  23. Is the wheel of time realy worth my time (pardon my pun)? I mean, I've trid to read the Eye of the World, but the pacing felt a bit slow to me. Does the pace get better?
  24. Read The Lies of Locke Lamora, a beautifully imagined story and world filled with witty theives and daring heists. Trust me, a journey you'll never regret. PS: I feel like an ad now. For the record, I'm not a publisher or something
  25. To be honest, I give most books a try regardless of the author. But in the other hand, i can drop a book so quickly if it doesn't hook me by the first hundred or so pages. My criteria is very strict. The book has to be creative, have an intense plotline, and a writing style that is not too detailed (Hobb or Erikson) or too dissonant (Stephen King and Lian Hearn). However, if the book brings alot to the table, I can overlook the writing style (all mentioned books except Lian Hearn's). Probably my favourites are books where the characters are witty (or they could be Wit, anything goes). A top here is Gentlemen Bastard Sequence. Oh, and once Rothfuss writes Doors of Stone and I read it, I'm never reading his books again, for fear that he might suck me in then take ages to write a sequel
