  1. I'm no expert on Sel, but I do know that its Shards and magic are tied closely with the Cognitive Realm. Something to do with both the Shards being pressed into the Cognitive after being splintered and the teleportation displayed by Raoden at the end of Elantris. EDIT: This could tie closely with interstellar travel, as travel is supposedly easier in the Cognitive Realm
  2. They have a similar feel, but Davis feels less rigid. He's definitely Wax-ish, but he seems a little more corrupted, a little more willing to use a Snapshot for his own ends.
  3. I get the whole "guiding" ideal. But wouldn't Jezrien be a better fit? Like Ishi and Jezrien switched?
  4. I think that Bondsmiths on their own do not posses the power to change the nature of another being. They are meant to unite. Although you could unite a group under a cause you are favorable with, I do not see someone being able to unite by changing nature.
  5. Here's the one problem... Sazed has no obligation to be anything to his people. Currently, he is in the process of having his personality eroded by the Intents of the Shards which are in control of him. However, his inner personality still continues to shine through and attempt to create a better future. Sazed was never so inhuman to let people die simply because that was how it was. He stopped threats. To be the embodiment of Harmony would be to do nothing, which we know Sazed is against. His whole point of acting like he is less than a god is simply to fight the idea that he is some omnipotent spectator. The fact that he holds off whatever evil is threatening Scandrial shows that he has not truly become Harmony. He's doing his best to stay human in a very inhuman form, which is admirable. The only way he could be a "bad" god is if being a good Shard was being similar to one's Intent. At that point Rayse is the "best" God according to Hoid.
  6. I don't think they reduce Identity... Merely suppress emotion. Emotion and Identity in my mind are two very different things. Emotions are what you feel based on your Identity, while Identity is made up of experiences and the emotions surrounding them. Loss of emotion is not loss of Identity,
  7. This is kinda weird, but not at all. I'm kinda happy, too. Sometimes they are plot based and that is great, but the wonderfulness of the random dream can never be conquered. Some of my best ideas come from weird dreams.
  8. I was thinking of a world where the bowling alley above a coffee shop is actually a portal to anywhere. Anywhere. But you can only go that place once. After you leave, you don't ever find that place again.
  9. I didn't see it before, but I do now. This actually makes a lot of sense! But wouldn't that still grant Rock the ability to transform?
  10. Reading through old posts, I now find you three months my senior. This damages my confidence.
  11. Ha! The youth. A large gap separates us, bleeder. One month is a veritable ocean of time. Happiest of birthdays. Also, I got back from my trip to Philly, where I represented my school in the ILMUNC. If anyone else went, gimme a shoutout!

I'm not sure, but I think that was Marsh specifically because he had been an obligator beforehand.

That is both absolutely terrifying and wonderful at the same time. Take an upvote!
  14. "The law" is up to interpretation. Could be personal law, could be real law. We don't really have much evidence as we don't see any Skybreakers in situations where they could be forced to break their oaths. However, the idea of "holding up the law" doesn't really work on a large scale. Do you hold up the laws of the culture you are in, or from the culture you originate in? If it is the latter it would suggest some sort of internalized moral code.
  15. Skybreakers do not follow the law. They follow their own personal moral code. Many times Szeth broke the law but really he never stepped outside of his personal beliefs(that the Oathstone controlled him). He went insane because of it. Wax is very similar in this regard.
  16. Honestly, this is a great first draft. My only criticism would be that the paragraphs are too broken up. (Also it's spelled robed, not robbed).
  17. That makes me think Dominion. But there does seem to be a recurring pattern of, well, patterns in the cosmere. This fits with Sanderson's "scientific magic" where nothing exceeds the boundaries it was created with.
  18. Melthi has a very special place in the cosmology, however. It's such a huge Deus Ex Machina that I can't exactly have it lying around on a word where someone might find it (pretty rusting good idea by the way). But I get your meaning. I have some stuff like that with not only magic systems but also with cultures and stuff(they were all one interconnected universe for a while). Also thanks for the kind words! Brandon is special because he can make something like this work. I actually began thinking of something like this before I even read Brandon, but I did copy some stuff off of him to make things run smoother. I would really like to see some of your stuff some time!
  19. (A)Zinc, so I can do some really cool things with Rioting, (F)copper, which would be SUPER useful on tests, and (A)Tin. This combination would simultaneously enable me to have perfect memory(Copper), have exact recall of every detail and scent(Tin), and use said powers to properly Riot(Zinc) a person to achieve the desired result.
  20. You still live?
  21. I guess you could say that.. But its more like they don't bleed into each other naturally. They get forced together by beings who have knowledge of the universe.
  22. It looks really good! You seem to have really improved.
