Democracy. An interesting word, that. Prior to the last Patrician getting offed, Ankh-Morpork had dallied with many forms of government and had ended up with that form of democracy known as One Man, One Vote.** But now that the esteemed Vetinari was gone, the Ephebian idea of ‘democracy’ seemed to have been instated, with everyone having a vote. Everyone. Had a vote. It was a horrifying change.*** One had only to look at the mass of people yelling at each other and trying to vote on who to kill to see that. Just look at what had happened with Death and A’Tuin! Who had even thought of the idea to let people vote on killing?**** Amidst the shouting and the arguing and the general cacophony of a city yelling at each other, yelling accusations, Cutting-me-Own-Throat Dibbler advertising his SAUSAGES IN A BUN, and Abec yelling at CMOT Dibbler, some of the citizens began to realize that they were less rowdy than they should be for a crowd this size. This was unacceptable.***** And so poor Yafeshan, who had been sleepily dozing in his corner, blinked his way awake to see a bemused skeleton in a robe waiting for him to wake. WELCOME TO YOUR FINAL REST Yafeshan blinked, deciding he like the sound of that, and proceeded to go back to sleep. And so the night began, with the shadows and whispers from day one’s writeup eagerly returning to take their places. Things certainly seemed poised to be more interesting tonight! **The Patrician was the Man; he had the Vote. ***The Ephebian democracy has been criticized for the fact that while people like Vimes or the Patrician had a vote, there was nothing in the rules that said Detritus or Dibbler or even...gods forbid, Nobby to have a vote... ****The Assassin’s Guild had conducted several (silent) strikes already, being extremely annoyed at plebeians elbowing in on their jobs. ******You see, to qualify as a real riot, they needed at least 15AARGHS of noise, in which one AARGH is equivalent to the amount of noise you hear when a piano is dropped on someone’s foot. Not that that’s ever happened in Ankh Morpok...right? Yafeshan has been lynched! He was a Pickpocket for the Thieves Guild! Vote counts Yafeshan (5): Wonko, Araris, Mage, Luckat, Clanky Aonar (2): Paranoid King, Nyali Silverblade (2): Ammanuensis, Kiwi Amannuensis (1): Silverblade Night 2 has begun! > Signups > Day 1 > Night 1 > Day 2 Player list (WITH ADVERTISEMENTS FROM THE ASSASSINS GUILD) Wonko the Sane - 150 Seonid - 150 Nyali - Grandma Nyawax - 150 The_Lady_of_Chaos - 100 Phattemer - Sergeant Jacksum - 100 Magestar - 100 Paranoid King - 100 Burnt Spaghetti - 100 Pestis the Spider - 100 Stink - 2 Aonar - 150 Dalinar - 100 Yafeshan - 100 JUQ - 100 Dankness Ascendant - 100 Silverblade5 - 110 kiwi - 100 Amanuensis - 300 Clanky - 150 Elbereth - 150 Luckat - 200 Araris Valerian - 40 Happy killing, stealing, and arresting!

@I_am_a_Stick It was a last minute stunt, brought to you courtesy of Khriss and Nazh XD. The two of us had been working steadily and silently towards our goals throughout the whole game, and we did not take kindly to the Children ending the game on us like that XD. So yeah, the two of us decided to kiss our faction goal goodbye and go out with a Bang. I spiked myself, and Hael went berserk on Harmony. We certainly did, didn't we? I'm laughing at how prominently my actions affected the whole game, and Hael is very proud of his fireballs.

MUAHAHAHAHAHA, I GET A SHARD That ending, that ending was amazing :D. And yes, all of you, that's what happens when the two best Cosmeric researchers get annoyed at everyone else :P. What, did you think researchers aren't dangerous? What do you think we do with our research? And actually, our goal was to untie the entire cognitive knot. We were literally two turns away from acheiving our final goal, when the Children ended the game, which caused Khriss and I to roll our eyes and...shall we say... Express our displeasure with extreme prejudice? Haelbarde, Khriss, we made a great team, and it was fun working with you! Nyali, thanks for not being mad when Hael and I threw our plan to hell and started plotting to kill Harmony, and me deciding to Spike myself, heh. Thanks for a frankly amazing writeup and a a killer ending to a pretty fun game! Even though Hael and I didn't win per se, we certainly caused a bang, didn't we?

A corridor at night, bathed in darkness and shadows. No sound or light broke the stillness. That is, until a figure dashed into it, running as fast as he can, mouth open in a silent scream. Blood dripping all over the floor. Spartacus was running, running for his life. Down a dark corridor, darting through the shadows. Gasping, he ducked into a side corridor, hoping his assailant was going too fast to slow. His plan had backfired horribly. He was going to die. Behind him, a figure grunted as it slammed into a wall. It had realized its mistake of leaving a Time Lord to bleed out when Spartacus had sprinted out of the room in a sudden burst of energy. Now it was going to finish the job. He knew he couldn’t outrun the figure. He was no Gold, while they were. He would be caught in a matter of minutes. And he was still bleeding out. Heavy footsteps behind him, growing louder. .He cursed himself heartily for being so rash. But at least he had left plans in place. People he trusted. He cast deperate glances around him, hoping for something to he could use. A hum as an Ionblade was activated behind him. The darkness was suddenly awash with a faint purple light. Turning, he fired a blast of the sonic into the corridors, hoping at least to disorient his pursuers. It was too dark to see anything! Hopefully that meant his pursuer couldn’t see him either. But he didn’t hold out much hope. A low laugh from behind as his attacker finally caught up with him. But the Healer was smiling. Laughing, even. You see. He had finally realized which corridor he was in. Among the dark corridor, lights suddenly began to flash, and a otherworldly groan echoed through it. The Forsworn skidded to a halt, confused and not a little frightened, as the alien sound wheezed rhythmically, lights flashing, until all was still. And Spartacus was nowhere to be found. All that was left was a simple box-shaped depression on the ground. _____________________________________________________________________________ The Healer was laughing. Giddily, in relief, as he flicked several switches, checked the scanners, and made himself a pot of tea. Another near death escape. He really should have gotten used to these by now. He flicked the dematerialization lever, having already set the target to the same corridor, but the next morning. Boy did he have news to tell the Faithful! And...yes. He would have to take Nyanah's body back to her homeland. And even...Danii. He owed it to Danii, even after what she had done. No one deserved to die alone in an alien world. The least he could do was give them proper burials. The time rotor finally shuddered to a halt. The Healer- newly patched up - walked over to the doors and pulled them open, glancing around. His face fell. Seriously? He glanced back at his TARDIS. She gave no reply. He was in the middle of a field of red. Mars, then. There was a house near him. Same architectural style as the place he had just left, only much more modest. So, same planet, approximately the same time period. Looks like the old girl had gotten the location right, just the time...a bit off. Then he saw the girl coming from the house to meet him. He face fell, and he looked at the TARDIS, yelling “REALLY?!” Then he just started laughing softly, realizing how everything fell into place in the end. Everything. Well, it's too late now. Let's just hope the other lancers are smart enough to do it without me. He waved her over, smiling kindly. “Hello there, can you take me to Tiberius?” He recognized the girl. It was Tia, but twenty years younger.

I guess I'm going to round up my reads so far and post them here before I go to sleep. Yknow, reading lynch patterns aren't really helping so far, are they? So far we have had two eliminators up, with no alternatives being offered up at all. Hopefully by next cycle, without a clear eliminator target, there might be more than one ongoing duel, and we can make more sense of the voting patterns. Who I trust for now - Lopen: - Daniyah: - Burnt. - Rae - Sheep I have PMs with all the above people, and so far they have been nothing but frank, and I am willing to trust them for now. Rae in particular has been transparent both in the thread and out, in terms of her Merit and her Ionblades. Daniyah has been helping me in regards to the players i haven't PMed but she has. Lopen suggests strategies with me. I consider them trustworthy, but of course, feel free to make your own reads. Again, confirmed good is not confirmed right. Who I'm watching - Darkness There's just something off about you, I feel. Yes, it might be your playstyle, which is jarring to me, the fact that you're just a generally chaotic player, what with role claiming day 1 and all. You have also switched Wonko's vote, which might be a good sign, but it doesn't really mean much when we all know Wonko is evil. I'm just watching you for now. Make a PM with me if you want to talk, or I'll make one. I'll see if I can spare the Merit. - Bard Same goes to you, Bard. the way you challenged Wonko so fast doesn't clear you from being Forsworn. Yes, you have role claimed to me, yes, I trust you a little because of that frankness. But I would still watch you. You understand, of course? I'm glad to see you're participating more, though, it'll give me a good way to readjust my reads on you Who I want to see more of - Jefry - Chaos - Stick - Jondesu - Assassin - Straw - Living Legend And yes, Stick and Jondesu, you two have started contributing more, and I'm really happy for it. I'd like you two to know I am willing to trust you two for now, and I hope you can continue to post more so I can readjust my reads. Chaos, Jefry, your Rp is sweet and all, but please start being more active in PMs and discussion, okay? Assassin, you're like Burnt, I think. You lurk. That might be your playstyle, I understand if it is. However, as you can see, even Burnt has begun to contribute more than just RP, so I hope you do the same, okay? As for Straw and Legend...well, not too sure. Legend has popped in once for some Rp, and Straw says he won't be participating much. So...yeah/

“Rabbits! Two wild rabbits on the loose!” Spartacus jerked violently at the cry. What? No. It can’t be. Unbidden, flashes of memory flared across his mind, causing him to stagger. no….NO…. A quiet, peaceful village. Red eyes. The Rabbit of Caerbannog...Little tapping footsteps in the dark. Screams. Little bunny Foo Foo…laughter....blood...One of the rabbits leaping and tearing out his throat as he gurgled a scream through the blood Spartacus shook his head violently, trying to clear those traumatic memories. Rabbits...His wild eyes darted to the woman who had screamed. She looked just as distraught as he was, shaking and grabbing people’s shoulders. And she would be, if he was right and they were the same rabbits. Spartacus threw a glance back at Gregor and Sanis, but decided ultimately to run towards the woman. He touched her shoulders, stilling her trembling, making eye contact. “Don’t worry, you’re safe now, you’re with me, don’t worr-” He had seen the gleam in her eye. Violently, he pushed her back, just as she cried tie things!. Not a moment too soon, for all color drained from around the woman - Danii - as her sash leapt towards him and tried to ensnare his hand. The rope whipped around him, and if he had still been standing close to Danii, he would have been helpless. As it was, the sash only trapped his arm. He cursed, then flicked out his razor. Like a snake, the sash wound itself around his torso and started squeezing, pinning his arm to his body. Mocking laughter. Trap things! Beat things! An ornamental suit of armor rose to life, some rope on the floor contrived to tangle his feet. The Healer muttered some more violent curses. Gasping for breath, too late. The rope wound around his neck and squeezed. Breathless, he fell to the ground. The world went dark. Finally, the pressure loosened, and Danii knelt beside him, taking her Breath back from her items. The cloth around his neck went limp. And that was when the Healer surged up, grabbed Danii’s throat and slammed her against the wall. Useful thing, being a Time Lord. Having a respiratory bypass just meant he could hold his breath longer. Before Danii could say another word, The Healer stuffed her sash into her mouth. Spartacus looked steadily at Danii, who gazed back at him in frustration. Danii. a rabbit hopping out of her sleeve, sniffing the air Dimsari. He knew there had been something off about her! ugh He had NO time for this, he needed to make sure Sanis did not escape. He shoved Danii back again, hard. Growled a warning. “You are not forgiven for the massacre of that village. I will save Tiberius. Focus on saving yourself, for I will. Come. After you.” With that, he released her and stormed back down the hallway where Sanis had gone. Once again, I'm putting in a request to meet a Telemanus and a Lune. I need to talk to both of you. Currently, the only players I trust are Lopen, and Rae. Lopen, because so far his posts have all been clear, relevant, and most of the time, and like Rae said, he was distrusting of my plan at first. Rae because she has still been transparent with her merit and her blade. Maybe not so much with the Pulseshield, but that's understandable for now. I would still watch her, though. As for Stick and Sheep, they have roleclaimed to me, and I am willing to trust them for now that they are what they say they are, and not Forsworn. Assassin, Lady of Chaos, Jefry, Bard and Jondesu have not posted nearly enough to make me want to clear them. Good RP, Daniyah, but more discussion please? Current inactives seem to be Magestar, Bard and Straw. Well, hopefully Bard wins tomorrow. Are any of you going to buy items this round? I really hope I don't die tomorrow. I'm still enjoying the game so far, haha.

Alright. I'm going to have to put in another request. Can I please speak to a Lune? I have had some information, and I need a Lune to help me clear this. Forsworn Lune or Village Lune, both are welcome. Also, I would love to speak to a Telemanus. I love how of the five people who have given me role claims, four have turned out to be Thornes. Either some of them are lying or Aman was not very generous with his roles in this game I want to talk about items. By this cycle, people should already have gathered at least ten merit. Can people come up and talk about their purchases? Or if you're uncomfortable with that, tell me in a PM what you're going to buy.

Spartacus stood beside Lumina's corpse, silent. Wordless. What had happened? What. had. happened?? Things had been going so well. They had executed a traitor, and Lumina had exposed another. He had fully been expecting Sanis' death. Expected they could go to the next traitor. And now this. The one person who he only recently decided to trust. What. Why. Lumina… He placed a hand on her cold shoulder. I'm sorry. I wish I could have trusted you more in life. I will seek to avenge your death. He memorized her name, her face, and paid his last respects to her. Then he strode out of the medbay, face shadowed. He felt the same rage swelling in him that had caused him to punch Tiberius. A storm was brewing. With a thought, his sonic screeched so loud that all attention in the room turned to him. All doors in the palace slammed shut as his screwdriver hacked them all. Sanis was now trapped. With nowhere to run. Perfect. He walked softly, purposefully, straight to Sanis. With a contemptuous flick of his sonic screwdriver, Sanis’ flickering pulseshield died completely. Spartacus strode towards him as Lumina had done. Completely calm, unhurried. Threat lacing his every step. He. unsheathed his razor... Only to find that Gregor had already cornered Sanis against a door. "Hello. I am Spartacus au Thorne. You killed my friend. Prepare to- oh... Ah. Um. Get him, Gregor! Well. That was tragic. You can't really blame me for being wary, Elbereth, heh, but I do wish we could have been working together earlier. So what happened? Two possibilities. Was Wonko a Julii after all? He could have been an Arcos. The Pulseshield comment could have been to throw us off. Rae. I have not forgotten how you survived Elbereth's Blade. What's your excuse? Your explanation? Who did you attack last night, hmm? Either way. Two people survived when they shouldn't have. Now it's time to even the scales. Telemanus, on me tonight. I don't want to force anyone to do anything, or insist that I am fully cleared, but looking at Elbereth, it's not hard to guess that I'm next, if they're going after the vocal, cleared players. If I kill Wonko, I will get an Ionblade, and I will avenge her death twice over. Telemanus, I hope you consider my request. Ugh Ninjaed by Bard. I wanted to kill Wonko . Guess I took too long typing out this post? EDIT: yes, same argument as going after Tiberius. Wonko didn't directly kill El, but he hurt her enough that she died without further fight. Heh. So my character blames him for her death. EDIT 2: removed my challenge. Cheers Bard..

Sanis...had heard, right? The silence pounded against their ears. Was no response truly forthcoming? Spartacus could see some awkward glances being thrown around. Some of the other lancers began talking quietly among themselves, discussing how best to find the other traitors. Pierce burst into the room, grovelling, only to see that Tiberius wasn’t there. Nirgal walked in, took a look at the room, and went off shaking his head. Stick looked like she was highly enjoying the showdown between Lumina and Sanis. Khazad spouted his thoughts to anyone who would listen, then ran back to his corner. Nyanah showed off her new ionblade to some admiring lancers, and vowed to kill another Forsworn on it. Lucius muttered some of his suspicions on Nyanah and some other lancers for good measure, cheered Lumina, then faded into the crowd. Nyanah and Burganaa were throwing glances at Tia, the amnesiac lancer, who suddenly burst out with her suspicions all of a sudden. Chaos. And through it all, Sanis had not spoken. So...no more discussion guys? I'm tempted to suspect you again, Elbereth, for posting that, knowing it might inhibit discussion Also, I am sad that the RP battle has not materialized. So it's late on my side, and I won't be awake before rollover, so I'm going to take a page out of Burnt's book (Btw, great to see you finally contributing, Burnt, and your post is good) and post a full suspicion list! Darkness Ascendant - Has posted quite a bit of RP. Has always been rather chaotic from what games I've seen him in. I'm really 50/50 on him here. he implies he is Fabii. He has tried to redirect the lynch on Bugsy last cycle to Legend, and yet this cycle seems to imply that he might be shifting Wonko's vote to himself. An eliminator deciding again to bus another teammate to gain trust? Someone genuinely trying to help? I'm leaning on the former, honestly, but only because I still don't have much to go on. Daniyah - Another silent character except for the occasional RP. Suspicions? neutral, but it's going to rise if you don't start posting some discussion soon, Dani. Assassin - Also has been mostly silent except for RP. His one discussion post was him cheering Rae to avoid vote manipulations. Still not sure how to read him. Also hoping for more posts. Magestar - Has been quite helpful, especially in the previous cycle, where he contributed some discussion. Has been reserving his vote on both occasions. (Did you actually cheer El this cycle, Mage? You said you did in RP, but there's no color). Reading village for now, hope to see more of him. Wonko as Sanis - Does anything need to be said? Slice 'im up, El Jondesu - You're new, so I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt. Has mostly been asking game related questions such as how duels or lynches work. Supported Bard in directing a duel at Straw. reads mostly village for now? Would also like to see more AliasSheep - Has been talking to me in PMs. Has been transparent and open, so for the moment I trust him, and read him village. Also cheered for Rae I_am_a_Stick - Has started posting a little in response to my post calling out inactives. Guess I finally got her to err... stick up for herself? (You're not the only one with the puns, Burnt) Hope to see more of you Stick! You cheered for Rae, but sadly that's not much of an indication when Wonko did the same. Still, I'm reading village for now. livinglegend - Legend? what legend? I've never heard of 'im! Sadly, has not shown up since cycle 1. Impossible to say. @livinglegend? Bugsy6912 - Grrr Burnt took all the head puns. I may as well quit well she's a-head. (sorry not sorry) The_Lady_of_Chaos - Another silent one, sigh. Also new, also giving benefit of the doubt, but try to contribute a bit? Is anyone in a PM with her? Anyone can confirmt atht she's more active in PMs? I'm going to start suspecting her if she doesn't post more. Elenion - Len, Why didn't you cheer for Rae the last cycle after you said you would? You were the one who supported her duel on Bugsy in the first place, citing his use of pathos, and you were right. Why didn't you follow through? That said, you have been pretty active in discussion, and kept your points relevant. Village read. The Young Bard- Understand that you're busy with LG27, so I'm going to give you a pass for now. I'm not forgetting your duel with Straw though, I'd say minor elim read. You can correct me if you want. @The Young Bard TheMightyLopen as Priam - Posts rarely, but mostly relevant discussion. Village read for now, though there is Rae's comment about him not posting as much as he usually does. I've got no baseline to compare this with, so I hope you prove yourself. Burnt Spaghetti as Tia - Just posted a massive discussion post. Seems to be pretty clear. Still not fully trusting her, but much less suspicious of her now. There is, however, the fact that she claims she has not started any PMs except one. Might be true, but could be a lie, considering how active a PMer she is. Perhaps she doesn't need to create PMs because they were already created for her. Still, I'm willing to trust her a bit for now. Village read. Arraenae as Nyanah - What can I say? she duelled and killed Bugsy. She has also been pretty transparent about having a Blade and seems happy to help the village. But I'm always a bit wary of trigger happy vigilantes, (Sorry Rae). She has also been posting her merit counts, which for the most part tally with my counts. That's transparency there, i guess, so I trust her. Elbereth as Lumina - Fully cleared, what can I say? Unless this is some spectacular gambit, she is most likely a confirmed villager. Straw as Morsde - Says he will be dropping out? Pity. jefrywlfersn as Jefry - RP only, no discussion. Post more or I will be suspicious. Neutral read for now. G'night guys. Hope to see more discussion when I wake.

You know, Wonko... You know what would have made me trust you? What would have made me stand and defend you against Elbereth? Why, if you've simply told me "I have an Ionblade." Not "i don't have any items to trade", or "I don't want to trade away my datapad". If you had told me that you started with an Ionblade, and Elbereth stole it, I would have believed you and defended you. But you didn't, and that was your downfall. The moment Elbereth revealed she had your Blade, I realized that you had not been entirely honest with me. Sure, I understand why you didn't. But I was just saying, if you had wanted someone to defend you, you made some mistakes. On the lynch/Ionblade discussion, I say we lynch Wonko. As stated by Elbereth, duelling comes before House actions In the Order of Actions, so duelling him effectively blocks him. I believe the same thing happened yesterday with Bugsy, having been intercepted by Rae's duel before he had a chance to make a kill with the Ionblade, which is why there were no deaths today. I also like the idea of a secondary lynch. Of course, while the Blade wielders answer first to themselves, and might not even kill the targets we ask them to, this generates more discussion. We caught a forsworn today. Brilliant. That does not mean that we can sit back and relax for a cycle. No. Wonko has already confirmed all our suspicions of him, and Elbereth looks all set to dispatch him with a duel (looking forward to that RP battle btw). Assume Wonko has already gone, and let's start looking for the next traitor. Some reads I have, based on last cycle's voting patterns. Bard and Jondesu tried to redirect the duel to Straw, and Darkness tried to duel Living Legend. Magestar seemed to agree with the duel on Bugsy, but has reserved his cheer on both cycles now. Rae I trust for now, even though she seemed a little uncertain right at the end. But she has been transparent so far, and I trust her Elenion pointed out an interesting thing I missed. This early in the game, only those who started with items would have any items, except for the person who bought the holocam yesterday. We can keep watching the shop to see if any objects are bought. That way we can keep track of the number of bought Ionblades circulating among the players, or see of anyone has bought pulseshields, ghostcloaks or fleshmasks. RP might come later, perhaps after Wonko posts his rp response to El.

Spartacus gave a violent start at the accusation, whirling towards Sanis, the violent twist of betrayal twisting his heart. "What? What?" An incredulous laugh issued from his mouth. Well well well. Well well well. And to think he had been more suspicious of Lumina. He rose to his feet from where he had sat, clapping loudly. "Well played, au Julii, well played!" He swung around the table, clapping softly, mockingly, as he walked towards the end, where Lumina loomed over Sanis like a silent, implacable angel of death. "Sanis au Julii?" He called, still walking, "Meet Lumina au Julii! Lumina au Julii? Sanis au Julii." Finally reaching them, he grasped both of their shoulders, smiled - too widely - at them both, then released them, watching Sanis with hooded eyes. "Go get him, Lumina." I have no words. No words. Well, now you know, people, the identity of the first Julii to contact me. Sanis au Julii. The identity of the Julii I gave my plan to. The identity of the person who leaked the plan to Bugsy. The person who claimed for the last two cycles to have no items to enact our plan with. With an Ionblade? Hah. Well played, Wonko. Perhaps in another cycle or so, you might have even gotten me to trust you entirely. Now it's very clear why only one Julii contacted me. I'm not surprised at all, knowing now who the second Julii was, heh. Perhaps it was for the best, as I've stated, I was more wary of Elbereth than I was of Wonko, and if they had both contacted me the first cycle, I would have trusted Wonko more. So that's interesting. But now, after what Wonko has told me and what Elbereth has revealed...if Elbereth is right, then Wonko is a liar. Good job Elbereth. if you're right, you did amazingly.

Stifling a yawn, Spartacus took a look around the War Room. What a mess. A duel had taken place last night, between Nyanah the Rosharan (he finally remembered where he had seen the lights before. Plus, the sphere of leaking light kind of gave it away) He had arrived back at the medbay after walking Tia to her room, just in time to see Nyanah declare her challenge. Sevro had tried to run, but he, along with four other lancers, had stepped up to block his way of retreat. He had harbored suspicions of Sevro himself, after the lancer had leaked one of his plans to find the Forsworn traitors, and then had been the time to put them to the test. And now Sevro’s head sat on the table, staring sightlessly at a wall. Oh, he had been a traitor in the end. And Spartacus had been enormously relieved that he had not supported the murder of an innocent. But was it worth it? Sevro au Bellona. Tiberius' own son. His eyes drifted to Tiberius’ empty seat. His hearts ached for the man. In the span of a single day he had lost his favored pet, a loyal companion, been punched in the face by another friend, and now his son had been exposed as a traitor and killed. It was no wonder he had not shown up today. He’d expected to be relieved not to be confronted for the punch, but this… he had never wanted this to happen, especially to a person he would call ‘friend’. He took another long gaze around the room, wondering who he should approach... Right, Merit counts for Cycle 1. Bugsy himself has claimed to me he received 8 Merit in cycle one, and unless he randomly started with the Blade, or the Blade was passed to him by a Forsworn Julii (Which is not impossible, seeing as how Bugsy boldly asked to be scanned in cycle 2) and they're taking refuge in audacity, It means that the highest merit any of the Forsworn earned was 8. Now that is interesting, because that would immediately clear anyone who earned Merit above 8. For cycle one, those who earned above 8 merit were Elbereth and I. Those who earned less I will list now. Wonko - 8 Arranae - 7 Magestar - 7 Sheep -4 Lopen -4 Chaos -4 Elenion -4 Daniyah -3 Jefry -3 Stick -3 Darkness -2 Assassin - 2 Burnt Spaghetti -2 If my counts are wrong, I hope you will correct me. I fully expect my numbers to be off by at least one or two, but they should roughly be what you all earned, right? So yep, anyone on the list could be an Elim. Arranae I believe is cleared, as she was instrumental in killing Bugsy. The rest are still a little murky. I am especially inclined to watch the RP only posters, as I have mentioned before. It does look like Elbereth and I are cleared as a result of this, but I would remind you to be vigilant, heh. I'm still not taking my eyes off anyone, and I fully expect all of you to do the same. In other news, Rae earned the highest amount of Merit last cycle at 7 (plus around 5 from killing Bugsy), followed by me at 8, and then Magestar at 6 Now, on to the voting patterns. While Elbereth has a valid point about the eliminators deciding to bus Bugsy, and some of the people cheering for Rae could be Forsworn, I would instead look to those who promised cheers for Rae but never fully delivered. People who said that they might cheer for Rae, but did not in the end. I'm looking at those who said the lynch against Bugsy was half formed, and yes, I'm looking at Bard, Jondesu and Darkness, who might have been trying to redirect the vote by accusing Straw and Living Legend. Elenion, I like your points, and I do believe one and two are the most likely scenarios. I do hope it's the second scenario, and that the Forsworn are still trying to get themselves coordinated. That would be excellent. So. Anyone has any solid suspicions?

Well, Rae, another reason could be that Bugsy is Forsworn, but he's in the spotlight now, and anyone who defends him is automatically viewed as a bit suspicious. The other Forsworn might not want to put themselves in the spotlight, so they have decided to bus Bugsy. That's how I'm seeing things right now. I do hope we're doing the right thing though, heh, because currently this is the strongest lead we have. Anyway, some final rp before I go to sleep. Spartacus blinked. “Amnesia, eh?” he shook his head. “That is just. The worst.” This… this could mean that she was the same girl in the photos after all, only twenty years older… hm He was just about to ask how she was coping with it, when he realized Tia probably wasn't listening much to him, as she continued to babble a stream of words in an almost drunk manner. Heh. She seemed dead on her feet. Spartacus waited for her to finish, a slight smile tugging at the corners of his face at how the Tia continued to regale him with the story of the bird, finally finishing with a sheepish smile and “that's the story.” She gave him a quizzical glance, and he realized she was waiting for his story. He sucked in a breath, then released it in a sigh. “I punched Tiberius because he lashed out at a faithful man. I punched Tiberius because indirectly, he has caused the death of one of his most loyal guards. I punched Tiberius because despite him being the arch governor… he needs to have someone clear his head every now and then.” a yawn escaped Tia, next to him. Spartacus snorted, smiling softly. “Cmon, I'll walk you to your room. Six hours until tomorrow's meeting? You'd better get some rest.” Gnight guys!

That is correct, Jondesu. Those are the current two Duels. However, didn't I add my cheer to Rae? There should be at least be at least three cheers for Rae now, right? Spartacus snorted, a soft chuckle escaping him. “Naww, can’t wait. Why not get the TARDIS and hop forward six hours already?” The woman gave him a quizzical look, to which he laughed, “nevermind.” He fell into step beside the woman, noting her practiced, easy stride, contrasted with her slightly lost demeanour. This woman walked like a seasoned warrior, yet… there was something off about the way she carried herself. Also, this might have been his imagination, but he could’ve...could’ve sworn that he’d seen her picture amongst the photos in his room. But the woman gave no sign of knowing him. He sucked in a breath. “So what’s the story with the bird?” he asked. “Where did you even get a rotting dead bird that happened to be Tiberius’ favorite?” Then, realizing that he still didn’t know her name, extended a hand. “Spartacus au [redacted]”

Silence. Deathly silence from all around. Spartacus’ hand was throbbing, and it hurt like hell. He might as well have punched a stone pillar for all the emotion that Tiberius showed. The man hadn’t even moved from the force of his punch. That’s good, that’s okay. There had never been any intention of actually hurting Tiberius...he had just been trying to get his attention. Tiberius turned to look at him, his eyes drilling into Spartacus’ own, and Spartacus began to wonder if he had made a mistake. It had been a rash, emotion filled gamble, trusting in his future self’s friendship with Tiberius, that Tiberius would take the time to understand him, if only for the sake of their friendship. Still nothing was said. Around the corridor, no one watching dared to even make a sound. Suddenly their silent confrontation was broken by the offworlder, the woman with red-gold hair. She had run up to them, breathlessly, saying, “Whatever quarrel you have with your leader, you can talk it out," she said. She took a breath. "Attacking him won't solve anything." Tiberius finally moved. He made to turn away, then looked down, frowning. The floor...it was glowing, and both his and Tiberius’ feet seemed to be glued to the floor! His eyes shot to the girl, realizing it was her work, realizing it was the same glow that had infused Sanis’ cloak earlier. The girl seemed to notice Spartacus’ scrutiny, and looked at him defiantly. The glow vanished as if it had never been there. And without a word, Tiberius turned his back on them and stalked off, all quiet dignity. Spartacus made to move after Tiberius as well, only to realize that the girl had not removed the glue by his feet. He could only watch as Tiberius strode quietly away... ...Leaving him standing there, cradling his broken wrist in the middle of the corridor, feeling profoundly stupid. That had been very, very rash, even if it was well intentioned… He supposed Tiberius would confront him at the meeting tomorrow. Somehow, he found himself dreading it. Oh good job, me, very good job managing to piss off the person you're pledged to protect...The girl finally left him, the glow by his feet vanishing. Wonderful. He sighed, shaking his head and heading into the medbay to get something for his hand. It hurt. He should get some sleep. There were only six hours until they were scheduled to meet at the War Room. That was, of course, if the other lancers would let him have peace for said six hours... The thought that the Forsworn might be storing Ionblades worries me. But then, if they are storing blades, hey, it increases the chances of a successful trade by the Julii, doesn't it? I assume that there is going to be a kill tonight, made by the Forsworn who earned the highest number of Merit last cycle. For now, it's impossible to tell who has it, sigh. Telemanus, choose wisely, I guess? Anyways, I'm about to head to bed, and as no further defense has been forthcoming from Bugsy, I'm going to hold to my promise and cheer for Rae. RP, Bugsy? really? You're being accused and on the lynch, and you RP instead of defending yourself further? I just really hope that you're Forsworn...Also, I'll be on before Rollover, so if you do hope to get me to rescind my cheer, you had better start finding some very good reasons why we shouldn't. Anyway, if we want to solidify the lynch on Bugsy, and prevent a Forsworn Fabii from changing the outcome of the duel, I would suggest more people start cheering. Also, I'm glad that some of the RP only characters have begun posting discussions too, such as Darkness, Stick and Jondesu. Hopefully more will follow. @Chaos, @Assassin in Burgundy, @jefrywlfersn, @Burnt Spaghetti... Still waiting for you to join in @Straw, @livinglegend, please post before rollover.

Popping in really quickly to give some thoughts on other players other than Bugsy. So I've just gone through day one again, partly to try and estimate how much merit each person has. I haven't checked with Aman, but my numbers are close enough to the few people who have revealed their merit counts and mine. Off by one or two, but close enough, *shrug. Anyway, I made a list of who has been contributing actual discussion, and who has only been doing RP. Discussion Doctor - Came up with the Julii plan. Wanted to have a way to clear roles. Talks about importance of PMs. Has promised to cheer Rae Elbereth - Has made several detailed posts responding to other players. Helped to modify the Julii plan to soft clear after it was spilled. Has made several good suggestions. Cheers Rae Bugsy - Well... Spilled my plan, obviously. Has made arguments defending why he tried to find out the plan, and argued that the plan is now the better for being shared. Lopen - Has doubts about provability of the Julii, stresses importance of PMs, advises to buy information gathering items, pointed out possibility of Forsworn initiating duels to avoid participating in discussion. Arranae - Questions viability of Julii plan since Faithful can have Ionblades. Has accused Bugsy to duel him. Suggests keeping track of each other's merit. Mage - Some thoughts on the lynch, argues that it is better to keep your items secret. Claims will buy protective items. Has idea to clear roles using two Lunes. Elenion - Accuses Bugsy of using pathos. Cheers Rae Sheep - Has asked several questions to Elbereth and me concerning Ionblades, vig kills, and the Julii plan. RP only Burnt Spaghetti Lady of Chaos Jefry Jondesu Wonko the Sane Dankness Ascendant I am a Stick Daniyah Assassin in Burgundy Has not posted The Young Bard Straw Living Legend. So, some thoughts. The most active in discussion has actually been Elbereth, with 8 discussion posts to 4 RP posts. Elbereth and I earned the most merit last cycle according to my count, but I had 5 discussion posts to 7 RP posts. Obviously, my numbers are not that accurate, as Merit is calculated by Aman, but it's close enough. I hope me or Elbereth can be soft cleared soon, because Elbereth so far is our most valuable player discussion-wise. Secondly, a very large portion of the plan has revolved around my Julii plan. Sure, there were talks about lynch mechanics and items, and Mage brought up a half-hearted idea of there being two Lunes who would scan each other, and then lynching one to hard clear the other. Elbereth, as I have said, has proposed some ideas that she shot down for being too dictatorial. The point is, the plan might be a good one, but it's worth branching out to discuss our other options more! Thirdly, I want to look at those who have only been posting RP. There have been quite a few people who have only been posting RP, and while RP is fun and I'm loving all the RP we have had so far, I really hope that you guys will start contributing a bit more in game discussion, suggesting ideas of your own or critiquing other people's ideas. Posting RP frequently is another excellent way to seem active in thread, but not actually helping all that much. Nothing's wrong with a lot of RP. Just don't post only RP, as for lack of better ideas we might start targeting the people who are actually not contributing anything. Case in point, currently I suspect that more than one of the RP- only people are Forsworn lying low and hoping they won't actually be called up to contribute if they post enough RP to keep people happy. Not to say that all the discussion people are suspicion-free, but at least they're provoking discussion... That's all for my thoughts. Hope you can make something coherent out of that... EDIT: I concur with Elbereth's point. Is there really only one Julii in the whole game? That seems...weird.

RP Spartacus had been smiling, talking. Kavax au Telemanus was a large, boisterous man, his laughter infectious, his movements enthusiastic. Kavax had roared at the sight of him, smothered him in a hug, and punched his shoulder almost hard enough to dislocate it. Brother! he had roared, It has been too long! His laughter rang as he began regaling the surrounding lancers with an obviously very exaggerated tale about a battle, which apparently Spartacus had played a large part in as the leading strategist. The big man described in vivid detail the fights, the tension, and the drama of it all, and how Spartacus was one of the best strategists he had ever had the honor to work with. Through the conversation, the little fox that the big man carried around had jumped into Spartacus’ hands, seemingly comfortable with him already, nuzzling his pockets for treats. Until today, Spartacus had never met Kavax, but he already felt like he had known him from ages. Then there were footsteps. Heavy, almost angry footsteps. Spartacus turned to see Tiberius towering behind them, shaking with pure rage. Those listening to Kavax fell into a shocked silence as he was hurled to the ground, his skull cracked open, blood staining the spotless floor. His future friend, a man who called him ‘brother’, had lain bleeding out in front of him, through not a single fault of his own. Why? Why? Then the final blow had come. On his way to visit Kavax in the medbay, he had heard Tenebrum’s scream, and realized what it meant. By the time he had gotten to the medbay, it was already too late for his friend. Sophocles, Kavax’s little red fox, was already bereft, mourning the death of its master. He was gone. This friendly giant, a man brimming with loyalty and joy and life. A man who would have defended Tiberius at the cost of his own life. Whose loyalty could never ever be questioned. Gone, for laughing too loud. For failing to notice his master’s anger. WHY?? Tiberius had come in shaking with rage. Now it was Spartacus’ turn to shake with rage of his own. He saw red. Blood pounded in his ears. He looked up, and his eyes found the ArchGovernor looking impassively at Kavax’s corpse. “TIBERIUS AU BELLONA!” he roared. Ignoring the scene he was creating, ignoring how every eye had swiveled to him, he marched himself straight up to the Archgovernor - who was just beginning to turn - and decked him with everything he had. Discussion You know what's interesting? The idea of 'fun'. It's been brought up many times. Namely by Elbereth, who started by mentioning she could dictate everyone's actions, mentioning the passing items plan she did for the Shades of Threnody quick fix. She then retracted it, saying it wouldn't be fun for the players. Fair, it's a fair point, and I do not fault her for it. I do want to have fun, and mayor games may not be exactly fun. But Elbereth, I am not ruling out the possibility that you might be an eliminator trying to seem helpful by proposing a good plan, then retracting it. It makes you look like you are contributing a lot with possible plans, but at the same time those plans are not likely to be implemented in the first place. Of course, you have helped to vary my original Julii idea into a way to soft clear the Faithful, and I acknowledge that, which is why I still trust you, to a certain extent. I still hope that you're not an eliminator, because you'd be terrifying if you were. We need a faithful El on our side, heh. So! Our first duel of the game. As Elenion has pointed out, Bugsy has also been bringing up the idea of 'fun'. Appealing to our pathos was the word that Elenion used. I can't say for sure that Bugsy is Forsworn. Perhaps the fault also lay with my Julii contact for spilling a secret plan. But there is still the fact that Bugsy basically had to cast suspicion on me in order to get the Julii to tell him the secret. This is, as Rae has pointed out, suspicious. What's interesting is how badly he wanted to find this out. It was as if he assumed that I wasn't going to share it at all, and I would just be telling all the players to lynch someone without suspicion. What has Bugsy to say in defense? Well, he has said that he would not have trusted any target that I and the Julii came up with unless presented with absolute proof. He could be a villager, and this could be true, but he's assuming that I wouldn't have shared my plan at all. Under this assumption, it would have been scary for the eliminators, knowing that there is a secret plan out there which could topple them. This fear is sheathed in a meta-worry of there being a Mayor game, in which the select few with information direct the actions of all others. While I could say that I would not have done this, his worry is impossible to truly refute, as the plan is already out, and saying what I would have done or should have done is useless. Bugsy has also expressed his fear that I may...heh...doctor the information (sorry not sorry). Again, it is something that ultimately cannot be proved or disproved, as the plan is already out. I can't argue with this point. Bugsy's final point is that there has been a net benefit in sharing the plan, as it has been improved. Perhaps. But would it have needed to be improved if it had not been shared in the first place? Why did it need to be improved? Because now the plan was out and the eliminators were aware of it, it had to be changed to soft clearing Faithful instead of catching Forsworn. Bugsy, it may honestly have been a mistake, and you might really be a villager, but if you are a villager you have set us back. If this duel does take off, and you have no further defense, I will add my cheer against you. You know, those of you who are Telemanuses should prepare some RP mourning the death of your patriach, and post them at the end of the game :P. And if there's a Telemanus among the Forsworn, shame on you. Dishonor on you. For those who don't know, House Telemanus is basically a family of giants who are fantastically loyal and brave. They may be called simple or stupid or even brutish, but they have an undying loyalty and once you have earned it, will die to protect you. This is why the Telemanus role is to die to protect someone. So I find Tiberius killing off Kavax to be a horrible, horrible thing Also yes, I punched Tiberius. I punched the GM. Bite me EDIT: To make it clear, Tiberius did not kill Kavax, I acknowledge that. But if Tiberius had not lashed out in his anger and knocked out his most trusted bodyguard, said bodyguard would never have been killed in the first place. So indirectly, my character holds Tiberius responsible for the death of Kavax.

Thing is, only one Julii has contacted me, which is confusing, as I think that there might have been at least two of every role, unless there are a lot more Thornes than I thought. I was initially hoping for at least two Julii, one of which would have been likely to be forsworn so that I could at least keep an eye on them. But yeah, only one has contacted me, and believe me, Lopen, I'm not that willing to trust him/her this fast, especially with the way the plan was leaked. (If you're really faithful, sorry julii) Thing is, it's the only solid plan we have so far, though. Besides the lynch, I really haven't seen a solid tactic to start clearing people. If anyone has another idea, I'll gladly listen, but perhaps it might be better to PM it instead of post it on the thread...

The silence was getting awkward. The man had not yet responded to him, seemingly lost in his own thoughts, leaving his hand hanging awkwardly between them. Spartacus took a long look around the room, wondering whether to retract his hand, or to try speaking up again. Then fortunately, fortunately, he was saved. A woman strode forward, looking just like any other Gold, with typical golden hair and a sly smile. She snapped her fingers at Shawl man’s face, then met his hand with her own, watching him carefully. “Nice to meet you, sir,” She smiled. “Enjoying the party?” Spartacus shot her a relieved smile, shaking her hand. “Thank you, for that. Spartacus au {redacted}, at your service. And you are?” Even as he asked, he noticed that she was one of the three offworlders he had vowed to keep an eye on. There had been three… The girl with the red and gold hair, who carried arguments with the air, and the smiling twins. She was one of the twins… Offhandedly, before she replied, he shot off a question. “I noticed you taking a glance at Sanis’ cloak before you came over. I’m guessing you noticed that glow. Have you any idea what it was?” Because @AliasSheep might have missed my response. @Daniyah, @Assassin in Burgundy, I look forward to exposing the both of you for the murderous, rabbit wielding Returned that you are...

Aman has told me he counts RP by the post, not by the word. I asked him that myself after posting a thousand word RP of my own The goal of the merit was to encourage interactive RP, so while you can post RP exceeding a thousand words, it doesn't do much on its own, and gets only one point, see what I mean? So start actually approaching people! Start a conversation, heh. Anyway. through this, Merit can easily be tracked by post count, although it can be hard to determine ourselves exactly what counts as analysis.

I'm fairly annoyed at you right now, Bugsy, but not enough to start a duel, I guess. Suggesting that I might be a serial killer is a low trick, and frankly, I'm wondering why you're already lying so early in the game and being so eager to learn the eliminator plans. Note that I'm not accusing you so far, merely saying I now have my eye on you. Moving on, I do like El's plan. However, one potential problem with El's plan is that it might cause the forsworn to hold back their post count, so to speak. Their goal isn't to get the highest merit, merely the highest within their own group. In a way, this could be encouraging the forsworn to lurk, as they do not want to draw attention to themselves by having a high post count and merit of all players. It doesn't matter how little merit they earn, for the blade will automatically go to the forsworn with the most posts. See what I mean? Sigh, this is why I didn't want this plan to be revealed this early in game.

Right, and there's my plan out in the open. Yes Bugsy, that was the plan I wanted to share to the Julii. No everyone, Bugsy was not the Julii that contacted me. My plan went like this. In the order of actions, Julii comes before any other item. And while Julii cannot intercept the forsworn receiving the Ionblade, they can trade the Ionblade away for a Harmless item the next cycle if we manage to pinpoint which of the eliminators gained the most merit last cycle. For example, a forsworn sent in a kill, boom, his ionBlade is traded away for a holocam. The forsworn is revealed, and a kill is prevented. I didn't want to reveal it in thread, but since Bugsy has already brought it up... Shrug By the way El, Fabii and Julii are the roles that can be used to directly combat eliminators. Technically, Telemanus can, although at a much higher cost. I would suggest all Telemanus start investing in some protection. So yep, that's my Elim hunting plan.

I certainly agree about PMs being a very important mechanic , Lopen. Elbereth had said that she doesn't believe that the eliminators will be able to coordinate this quickly, but I wouldn't place too much hope on that outcome. Never, ever underestimate your enemy. Elbereth, you asked me why I wanted to be able to confirm roles. I have already been contacted by a Julii, and I have shared with them a plan to hopefully cripple the eliminators. Don't worry, if I die, it's in my whisper gem so you will know if I have been betrayed. Being able to prove roles is useful, because it allows the faithful to coordinate our actions. Or course, as you say, the forsworn have no reason to lie about their role, but if they do not accomplish what they claim they can do, then we would have caught them out. So as you see, the ability to prove roles is an important one in deciding who to trust. Going out of game for a moment, in the last cycle of qf18, Chaos was caught between Daniyah and Ecthelion. How did she know who to support? Because Daniyah had claimed red to her, and they killed Mark together, proving Daniyah's claim right and her loyalty. If we faithful are going to band together, we need to be able to trust each other. Speaking of PMs, I have not made any yet this cycle, although I have received one from the aforementioned Julii. (more are welcome). What I want to know is, has anyone else sent out their PMs yet? I myself might send up to five PMs by the end of this cycle. More important than items is our ability to communicate. What else... Right, the whisper gem. If you have started any private messages, start updating your whispergems. The whispergems work like the wills in Town of Salem, and provide information even after you die. Tiberius has promised there is no way to hack PMs or whispergems, so those messages can be trusted. How many people you contacted and who? Put it in the whispergem. If you are discussing a plan, put it in the whispergem. If you have any suspicions that you voiced only to one person, put it in the whispergem.i have already started updating mine. Anyway, analysis over, time for rp Hearing a voice, Spartacus turned to find a man dressed in a crimson red and jade green shawl addressing him, asking if he had given his vows yet. That shawl...looked stupid to be honest. Although, he didn't think he was qualified to judge... (BTW sheep, I base myself more on twelve with a bit of eleven than I do on ten) "Yes, yes of course, I've given my vows," he said. Couldn't question his own judgment, could he? Inside his room, he had found a box hidden with a perception filter, observable only to him. Opening it, he had found the notes he had left to himself in his own handwriting, a picture of him smiling in battle armor alongside Tiberius, some more photos of him with other young lancers, and a piece of paper with 'Protect Tiberius' scrawled on it. Naah, couldn't question his own self's judgements. On the bright side, the face had been the same as his current one, which he hoped suggested that he wouldn't die for a bit longer. It did explain why some of the older servants had asked if he was getting cellular regeneration therapy. An awkward silence. He shook himself out of his thoughts, realizing that the Lancer was waiting for something more and looking at him awkwardly. He forced a sheepish (ha) grin and extended a hand. "Spartacus au [redacted]. Well met, my friend"
