Long Game 30: Journey Before Destination
Doc12 replied to Amanuensis's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Hithon wasn’t a fool. He knew that the steps up that platform would be steps sorely regretted in his future. It wasn’t a question of if, only a question of how. Shaking his head, he forced the darkness back, and tried to consider once more. He was an invisible man. Unless a man sought him in particular, he could stand still in a room and never be noticed. In a crowded marketplace? His pursuers would do best to wring their hands and give up. There was no power at work here, no Old Magic or...Radiant magic. He was simply a man who knew how to be unremarkable. It was a skill that had kept him alive. An invisible man had no business wanting to be a Knight Radiant. A soldier, a hero. To consider it was madness. The darkness laughed at him. He was no hero. The darkness mocked him, thrashing around him. Reveling in the perpetual dark. Hithon gritted his teeth. He would not fall today. He did his best to shut it out, day by day. That oppressive, leering darkness. Even though he had had to fight them every waking moment of his life, it never got easier. Even after two years. It was a torture that he supposed no man could ever truly get used to. It was madness. And yet. He found himself pressed between the crowd, feeling his way to the platform. It was not difficult to find his way. Highprince Kholin was on a raised dais, and while he did not shout, his voice carried. Orienting himself in the right direction, he found the end of the line of hopefuls. He felt the presence of many spren nearby. Awespren, anticipationspren, some gloryspren. He couldn’t see them, but their presence was clear. With every step he took, the darkness would thrash more, it’s frantic battering causing him to stumble more than once. And. the closer he got to the dais, the weaker the attacks became. This was why he strode up the dais now, why he allowed the eyes of the crowd to rest on him. Atop the platform, he felt the imposing presence of the Highprince, and stood at his best approximation in front of him. He looked straight ahead, and he knew the moment the Highprince noticed his eyes. His eyes that were a milky white, devoid of that spark of life. To his credit, the Highprince did not comment on it, and Hithon respected the man for that. Kholin touched his shoulder, merely asking: “Speak the words.” Hithon did not hesitate. “My Life before Death.” This was simple. Practiced. Any doubt he held he banished to say the next line. “My Strength before Weakness.” And finally. “My Journey before destination.” The rumbling of the Highprince’s voice. “Breath deep, and know your heart be true.” Hithon breathed. And he smiled. The cloak that the Highprince wrapped around him was nothing. The cheers of the watching crowd were worthless. The fact that he was now a Knight meant nothing to him. There was only one reason he had chosen to walk the fool’s journey. One reason why he had come to the Highprince and his men. When he had been working alone, the monsters would stalk him. When the Highprince had come, the darkness had drawn back. As the storm came to life inside him now, the shadows screamed and dissolved into the light. -

<Incoming Transmission> Oh, how honourable of ewe for that title, N. If not for the fact that ewe immediately proceeded to ram me in your following transmission. Well. I shall not resort to your methods. If nothing else, I retain the higher (OW) ...moral ground. I am not the one who fleeced all our agents and put wool over their eyes! (Oww. Okay, guess I deserved that) *sigh I'm tired. This prolonged war of attrition, this clash of good and evil between N and me is sapping our strength. Fortunately, she's geriatric (Dammit N! That hurt), and I'm in the prime! (Stop) of life! so I should hopefully be able to last longer. We'll see. Anyway, here are the missives for this cycle. Make of them what you will. [Message 1 begins] -MISSIVE 18B: Voted Lopen, because I think that Lopen/Bard or an eliminator, not contact. If anyone has proof to their innocence, please put it forward. They can prove innocence by making a PM between two players of your choice. Not their choice, as their choice could include a fellow eliminator. -Bush /END MISSIVE 18B: AWAITING REPLY [Message 1 ends] [Message 2 begins] Marshall law is still in effect. This cycle I have seen fit to report Lopen for treachery. He is one of the two contacts claims, which in of itself puts him under suspicion. Not only that, but as far as I can tell he is in contact with about half of the entire group, which is dangerous. Worse still, he has refused to run a test to see if he is really contacts, twice, from two different people. Also, if possible it would be nice if someone could give word to me if the other contacts claim has been tested. [Message 2 ends] [Message 3 begins] This is Agent Justin. Hopefully, we'll have caught and interrogated another Double Agent by the time you read this. If not, I fear the worst(that I've been silenced by Master Sheep). I suspect Desmond may be a Double Agent, but if so, he's a sly one. Difficult to get anything concrete on him. I believe Joe Bond and 39214 are likely our allies due to their roles, though I'm having difficulty getting info about 39214. Joseph is my target for tonight, as you'll no doubt hear of. Righto, back to training. *eats grass as instructed by the Sheep* [Message 3 ends] [Message 4 begins] Yiferien here. My vote's on Marshall. His PMs with me are too suspicious to ignore. He was too quick to cast suspicion on Justin Time only based on a small thing I told him. Seemed awfully like he just seized the opportunity to keep my suspicion on Time. And that's only one of the strange things in his PMs. [Message 4 ends] [Message 5 begins] I'm voting for Lopen, because out of the 3 people making PM groups, process of elimination says that Lopen is most likely to be an Eliminator. I also suspect Drake, Daniyah or Seonid as the final(?) Eliminator if Lopen turns out to be one. You should see analysis of why coming around in the next Cycle or two. Bard/ Buckbeak [Message 5 ends] And yes. On that note, I wish to thank agents Joe Bond and...(death glare) the recently retired agent Justin Time for their trust in me. You will pay for Justin's death, N. As to Agents Yiferien and Assassin, I can only say...You'll be back. Time will tell. Yes. You'll remember that I served you well, and return to me. Please. I trust you. As for Agent Seonid! Who intends to bring down both of us and establish himself as new head. Well. Good luck! I'm honestly curious to see how far you go. As for N...(don't you dare) and I, we will be here. Stay tuned for the epic clash of good and evil, when our agency will triumph over the forces of corruption and deception. Fellow agents. the price of freedom is high, it always has been, and it’s a price I’m willing to pay. And if I’m the only one, then so be it. But I’m willing to bet I’m not. Let's shear this sheep once and for all... ...Also we really need someone to get us out of this closet. N's starting to smell. Thanks. Stay sharp, shoot straight. -Mi9 out <Transmisson ends> -

<Transmission begins> That title though. Totally an abuse of position. Do you not see how biased the title is? Sheep is so obviously evil! Mi9. I’m. Not really in the position to say much here. I’m currently locked in a cupboard with the traitor Sheep staring at me. Sheep, Aries, N, whatever you want to call her. She’s glaring at me, and if looks could kill, we’d both be dead several times over. And despite what she's saying, she's the one kicking me. With those damnation stiletto heels. They HURT. Ahem. I’m counting on you agents to see the truth. Anyway. Messages begin. [Message 1 begins] [Message 1 ends] ...What the hell is this?? This is going to take ages to decrypt...Whichever wise guy who's been sending this, you must think you’re very clever… [Message 2 begins] Marshall law has been declared in this facility. All personnel should exercise extreme caution. I have intel that implicates Stick. Honestly, I wish I had a better lead, but its already cycle 3. It's sorta difficult to make a call on who is evil off second hand info, but the the time tested way to get more informed is to vote and discuss (or, in this case, post missives since we cannot freely discuss sensitive information). Anyways, stay sharp, spies. Speaking of staying sharp, I trust I don't need to identify myself at this point. Signing off. [Message 2 ends] [Message 3 begins] Report: Things have quieted down a little today. The reveal that Jason was a Double Agent has everyone in shock no doubt. I'm attempting a takedown of Stick for her vote on Jason. Looked to me like she was trying to make herself look good and not actually kill Jason. Still unsure of Joe Bond and Desmond. 39214 is my newest suspect, due to roles. Not making any new Contacts today. It might spook my fellow Agents if I get too well connected. Good read on John and Arin. Everyone else, not enough data. This is Justin, signing off. [Message 3 ends] [Message 4 begins] I'm a bit suspicious of Stick because of her vote on Drought. He was going to die anyway that cycle, so it might have been to gain trust. However, I forgot there was even an inactivity filter, so it could easily be an honest mistake. [Message 4 ends] [Message 5 begins] Claim time: I am Bard, and a Contacts. Voting on Lopen today because both the people I've PM'ed have expressed distrust of Lopen, he lied about who he intended to vote for last Cycle, and... he's claimed Contact, and could be an Elim using his PM power. (Hypocritical of me to say, I know, but true anyway.) "Buckbeak" [Message 5 ends] [Message 6 begins] I still have the contacts I started off with, one is Seonid, who hasn't said anything save for a hello. Might be a Double Agent, trying to avoid the filter, as someone else mentioned. I'm a villager.Go village. [Message 6 ends] And as to Aries' accusations, since when have I been distracting from the voles? YOU ARE THE LEADER OF THE VOLES: Hey, I have not been shy, I am just a spy in the private eye trying to do my best for our agency. I didn't wanna fight, but i won't apologize for doing what's right, Aries!" So you and your DOUBLE AGENTS are going down! To the rest of you agents. You have all served faithfully, men. Thank you. Except for Assassin. Traitor. (Ahem) You have all served faithfully, and I trust that you will choose wisely. Ow, Stop that! Mi9, over and out. <Transmission Ends> -

<Mi9 transmission> (*panting) I notice you have done nothing to counter my claims, Aries, only playing the victim card. Now I presume that every agent here has seen Revenge of the Sith, one of the mandatory films in the academy. Manipulation class, I believe. Now how did Emperor Palpatine destroy the Jedi and take over the galaxy? By playing the victim card. By painting a giant conspiracy against him, he did nothing to counter the rightful accusations of the Jedi, and garnered the sympathy of the galaxy. (Godammit that hurt you little.....) I (gasp) trust you as qualified agents will see through this deception. I...fully admit to being prepared for betrayal. Batman did it, and everyone in the academy idolizes Batman! If Batman made preparations to take down his teammates, I admit I did the same. But I point out that I was fully justified in doing so, as SHEEP IS ARIES. He has been subtle about it. First he began talking to you in your encrypted messages. He tried to gain your trust. I hope now you see the extent of his manipulation skills. This is no longer banter. This is serious. Aries has made open war against me, and I am scrabbling. This is serious now. Make the right choice. Please. (aaaaaaaaaaaaaargh) Your country (wheezes) depends on you In Paranoia we Trust <Transmission ends> -

<Transmission intercepted> Attention all active agents. Yes, this is Mi9. I am aware that this transmission is unprecedented. But then again, we as an agency face an unprecedented threat. This is an EMERGENCY, ALL POINTS BULLETIN. We have uncovered the secret of the Double Agents. We have uncovered - their leader. I have found the leader - Gemini-Aries himself - engaged in secret communications with the Double Agents. And who is this Gemini-Aries? N. Gemini-Aries. Aries. Sheep. Now you see the extent of the deception laid before us. Now you see how Zootopia had been right all along. I myself am horrified, having worked with N for so long. Yet now that his treachery is exposed, he seeks to convert all spies to his cause. Our last hope is that the fleece has not been pulled over your eyes, agents. The country depends on you being not sheep, in that you shall begin to make your own decisions. As N and I are locked in a battle of politics and wits, I regret to say we are at an impasse. We are locked. (He has literally locked the both of us in a cupboard without our weapons). We are trapped. It is up to you agents. It is up to you And now, with the power invested in me by the Queen and Country as Mi9, I declare a new operation. OPERATION BLACK SHEEP Mission: Disavow Sheep. Continue your search for the Double Agents, but be aware at every turn of his treachery and his deception. Pay no attention to him. By virtue of his treachery, he has disqualified himself from the reins of command. With all the power I have invested in me, I grant you license to ignore N. I grant you license to kill N, and a pardon issued by the Queen herself. You are allowed clearance to use any weapon you come across in our arsenal. There will be those that Sheep has converted. You will be forced to take up arms against your brethren. I pray that you will have the strength to do so. You have the moral high ground, gentlemen. Even now, that Bellwether seeks to convert you to his cause. I have chased him through your communications as he sends his treacherous messages to each of you. Even now I suspect he has sent several messages to his sympathizers, the Double Agents which stand against everything you believe. Sheep has committed HIGH TREASON against Queen and Country, agents. He is a liar, a dissembler, and a consummate politician. My rough words have nothing on him, I admit. Trust to the truth of your hearts, and listen to reason rather than honeyed words. Make the right choice. I am sorry I cannot assist you further. Good luck agents. Good luck. And let it be known that I am very, very proud of you. It has been an honour. Eyes up. Wise up. May your instincts shoot straight, and your judgement steer you right. In Paranoia we Trust. -Mi9 Out <Transmission ends> Yes, Sheep and I have declared war on each other . Choose a side, agents. Choose a side. (Note: This should not affect gameplay, it's only RP . Do choose a side though!) Good luck agents! -

Anniversary Game 3: The Curse of the Koloss

Spikes. What had that been in the Terrisman's hands? Something that had Herwynbe had stayed behind to acquire, long after most of the people had left the site of Reginald's death. Rin had watched as the Terrisman made his way towards the corpse on the ground and plucked something long and straight from his shoulder. And he had been told the last words of that first death, that messenger who had collapsed inside their town. Beware those pierced by metal. There...there was a connection there. And lying in his bed staring at the ceiling wouldn't help him to figure it out. It wasn't like he had gotten any sleep the whole night. His tired eyes and sore mind attested to that. Swinging himself out of bed, he made his way to his second storeroom, which Nikki had appropriated for her experiments. Nikki, a stranger who had arrived barely days before the killing started, asking for spikes. Rin had no idea what she thought the spikes did, but...now that it had been revealed that these...saboteurs, these traitors... they had those spikes in them. He wondered if they were a sign of belonging in that...crew. or cult. or group. Something like a crew tattoo. If it was, then it was highly coincidental... Why was he thinking this? Was he looking for someone to shift the blame to? Someone who he could blame for forcing him to take a life? A new purpose for him as his old life and trade fled from his hands? Maybe. Well. Yes. Yes he was. He needed to find out why. Needed to know that... there was something evil he was fighting against, and not just a madman he had tricked into poisoning himself. And to find that out, first he would need to ask his new friend some hard questions. As I stated last night, I wanted to take a closer look at the people who participated in the Lopen lynch. Having Lopen hard cleared now makes it very likely that there was at least one eliminator involved in the bandwagon, perhaps hoping to sway our attention. Speaking of, why kill Lopen? Lopen was already drawing a great deal of suspicion, and I think a lot of discussion would have centered around him if he hadn't been hard cleared through death. Unless Lopen had been uncomfortably close to some truth? Or Lopen knew something that the eliminators didn't want getting out? I'm going to have to go through his posts on more detail tomorrow. Anyway, the suspicions that rise to my mind now are Rae, Joe, Manukos and Headshot. At a risk of repeating the exact same points from last night (which I'm a bit miffed that no one wanted to discuss), Rae was the first to direct the attention on Lopen. She basically said "Don't waste a lynch on Dalinar". With the fair assumption that the eliminators have a lurcher, this would have basically allowed Dalinar to escape yet another night. So yes, I find this suspicious. Secondly, she leaked the information about Lopen being a lurcher and connected it to the spiked lurcher. I believe this was the reason the coinshot (if he was village) went after Lopen last night. Thirdly is just the reasons she gave for accusing Lopen. Besides the entirely valid point of Lopen being a lurcher, she resorted to saying that "most people had a gut read on Lopen, so something about him must be tipping us all off", and the fact that "the theory was hardly as much of a stretch as Lopen's paranoid theory". These just scream "scrabbling for justifications to me". So yeah. Points against Rae being an eliminator? Well, we could say that she was the first to vote on Dalinar in cycle one. Though that action could also be construed as an eliminator who didn't know how much attention Dalinar would go on to attract. Secondly, she did vote on Lopen in the end, even when it was clear that Dalinar would lead the lynch. This makes me believe her claim that she only wanted discussion. Still. Her actions last cycle were highly suspicious, and I'm surprised no one has brought it up other than Nyali. Secondly, Joe. In terms of voting patterns, Joe voted on Dalinar on Day 1 to save Headshot from the lynch, admitting then and there that he just wanted to save Headshot on the grounds of him being a new person. After that, in the day he voted first on STINK on the grounds of voting for himself, then when the Lopen lynch came out jumped on it, saying he also had prior bad reads on Lopen. He did not vote on Dalinar, citing his respect for Wilson and El and deciding to follow their lead. I just find this interesting, and wish to point it out for everyone. Headshot. I've been suspicious of Headshot for quite a while, see my posts in the day for details. I'm surprised at after his near-lynch on day one, he basically dropped under the radar and no one has been paying any more attention to him. He has still been making the same kind of posts, voting on people without much reason. (I seem to remember a few posts where he was a computer and spat out a single name, followed by an error message and amending it with another name) He has mostly been posting RP, and as I have stated, flying under the radar. This plus him joining the Lopen lynch fairly quickly has only served to make me want to point him out more. Manukos. Checking his profile, he seems to have been active on other parts of the Shard, even without posting much here. What I find interesting about Manukos is after a few days of not posting much, he comes up and votes Lopen out of nowhere, saying he piqued his interest more than Dalinar. I find this suspicious, that a player who has been lying low for a few cycles decides to come up and vote. Makes you wonder what justification he could have eh? Why is it that Lopen would pique his interest more than Dalinar? Thoughts on other players Hero: Unlike Wilson, I consider Hero fairly cleared for being one of the most vocal players who have targeted Dalinar. Yes, I realize that this could be a bussing scheme to gain trust, but when he had first advocated Dalinar's death in night one, I don't think we had any idea how large the Dalinar issue would become. If he had called for a coinshot to attack Dalinar just so that they could have a lurcher lurch him, that would be just drawing attention to Dalinar, which they wouldn't really want, seeing as he would have been their most powerful asset. So yes, I consider Hero fairly cleared. Stick: Stick is interesting for some of her comments last cycle. She seems to be claiming to have a role. Secondly, she has been seemingly very certain about roles on the eliminator side, which I just find interesting, but not enough to call for her lynch. So for now, my vote goes on Rae- 1403 replies

Anniversary Game 3: The Curse of the Koloss
Doc12 replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Rin slumped back against his chair, playing with an empty vial in his hands. He had killed a man. Well. Sure. He hadn't administered the killing blow, and yes, he had been in the crowd who had agreed that Reginald needed to die, but to be the sole cause, even indirectly, of the death... Sure, Reginald had turned out to be evil after all, but still. Every day he worked to make sure his metal was allomantically pure, every alloy meticulously mixed to the last percent. He worked with the knowledge that if he slipped up, he could be held responsible for a death. There had been some mishaps at the beginning of his trade, but nothing fatal, thank the Ruler... ...He had never intentionally botched up an order before. Never. In his eyes he saw Reginald screaming on the roof as he tried to burn the tainted metal, his mouth frothing, eyes wild. The scream trailing off into a shriveled-up gasp, and the man falling backwards with a deceptively soft thud. Looking across his shop at the rows of vials neatly sorted, his boxes of metal flakes and his tools both heavy and delicate, he heard them screaming at him, him who had betrayed his honor and his trade. And now...what was left for him to do? And even as the Terrisman entered, and his eyes noted Nicki's eyes lighting up and her suddenly furtive movements, he felt nothing. Nothing at all. Okay, RP aside, I felt honored to have a hand in the spiked death I had been meaning to mention it in my earlier posts, but I somehow kept forgetting. I have always enjoyed your writeups, Meta. They are a particular highlight of the first few SE games on the forum and the AGs after that. The way you manage to involve the players and their little quirks into the narrative is amazing, and thank you for those! Now, onto discussion, So Dalinar was spiked. Excellent. From this, we naturally begin to look at the Lopen lynch from last cycle, which seemed to have risen in an attempt to throw off the village. For this reason, it makes me slightly more inclined to trust Lopen. Those who participated in the Lopen lynch last cycle I find suspicious. Arraenae, A Joe in the Bush, Hemalurgic Headshot, Manukos and Elenion. Let's take a look. Rae I'm not too sure about. She was the first to accuse Lopen (with some poor justification, which I pointed out last night) and call for a coinshot to attack Dalinar. This I find suspicious, seeing now that Dalinar was spiked all along, and the fair assumption that the Eliminators would have a lurcher ready. On the other hand, her vote on Lopen did not come out of nowhere, having repeatedly expressed suspicion on him. But still. Revealing a lurcher.... Other thoughts were that she was the first on Day 1 to call out Dalinar, who up till then had been going relatively unnoticed. Of course, It could also be the action of an eliminator who didn't realize how Dalinar would go on to hog so much of the spotlight. For now, I'm going to be quite a bit more suspicious of Rae. Currently leaning more suspicion than trust. Begins Suspect. Suspect more. Manukos and Elenion I have less of a read on. Elenion doesn't seem to have been posting all that much, and has been happily bandwagoning, so I can't really fathom his reasons for joining the Lopen lynch beyond bandwagoning. Manukos has also been notably absent. What I find interesting about Manukos is after a few days of not posting much, he comes up and votes Lopen out of nowhere, saying he piqued his interest more than Dalinar. I find this suspicious, that a player who has been lying low for a few cycles decides to come up and vote. Begins to wonder. So yes, I might be tunneling, but some of these players have been ringing bells in my head. I'd be happy if we could discuss them tomorrow. Oh, and Rae? I'm pretty sure I was one of the people advocating we discuss people even on a decided lynch, Rae. I voted on Headshot within my very first post of the day...- 1403 replies

Anniversary Game 3: The Curse of the Koloss
Doc12 replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
You're not alone in noticing how quiet El and Wilson have been lately. However, their quietness has not been confined to this game. El was mostly inactive in LG27 as well, if you remember. I'm willing to trust that it truly is real life interfering, because I believe @Elbereth would not stoop to feigning inactive to escape suspicion. At least, that's my hope. Same goes for Wilson. She's repeatedly stated how she would not be as active in recent games, and I respect her decision on that. So their quietness doesn't indicate anything about them. Hopefully El gets on before the end of the cycle to give her thoughts. As for Wilson, I think I quoted a post from her later which I will get to. Thank you Headshot I just want to note that Rae is strongly advocating that we allow a Coinshot to take out Dalinar, even with the possibility that a lurcher would just pull the same trick and protect Dalinar again. I agree with Mage that it is safest to just end him in this lynch. A lynch cannot be protected from, while a coinshot attack can be. And yes, we aren't really getting much information because of all the tunneling, which is why I'm advocating discussing other people even while lynching Dalinar. I have to say, Dalinar's frustration seems really genuine here. Still, how many times have players voted on themselves this game? I believe it's Stink, Madagascar, and now Dalinar. We're setting some kind of record here guys I'm not sure what to say about this, but I'm flagging this post as interesting. Perhaps it's the firm beliefs he mentioned. At this stage, who really can have firm beliefs? ^Agreed. Joe...I have to say, your voting doesn't make much sense, sorry. As Stink later pointed out, you're basically voting on him for his Role play. So far he has not actually claimed any power that I know of. Look at Rae role playing a Thug, or Headshot now RPing a Mistborn. Are you going to go after them too? Your argument on Stick makes more sense, but has Stick really been sticking hard to it? If she is, then I have missed it, and I'm sorry. My impression was that it was just something in day one. Lastly, I feel your choosing to follow the lead of El and Wilson seems a little...contrived. I'm just saying my thoughts here, so no offense. Firstly, on the role distribution, that's an interesting avenue to consider, I guess. Seonid and some other players have been discussing role distributions, almost always bringing up past Meta games and how it's almost impossible to outguess Meta. I feel that the discussion on role-distribution shouldn't take priority, however, as up til the moment of the death of the last eliminator, we have no way to know for sure what roles the eliminators have, and guessing on that repeatedly doesn't really do much. I agree that anticipating different scenarios could turn out helpful for the village, but we have no way of knowing how many of our scenarios are correct. Thus, discussing role distribution seems to be a dead end other than acknowledging the fact that we cannot jump to conclusions from the metallic actions manifested so far. Secondly, as I mentioned above, yes, as long as we are focused on Dalinar there is no threat of a lynch on any other player. I strongly believe it doesn't mean that we should give up discussing other players entirely. It's okay if you and Stink don't feel like directing it elsewhere, but I honestly feel we could begin discussing other players other than Dalinar instead of waiting until Dalinar goes. I recognize that you might feel a discussion without threat of lynch might be fruitless, but I feel that any discussion might help. For example, my mentioning of Headshot has gotten me his thoughts on the three players I am not sure about. So I don't feel that it's fruitless to begin discussing other players. Thanks Okay, this is interesting, so Lopen claimed Lurcher to you? Huh. That's interesting. I guess what I'm looking at you at is you pointing out that collective gut read thing. It's interesting, and it almost feels like you're using us other players who have felt something vaguely off about Lopen as further justification on your vote for him. It's like the situation with Joe where he used El and Wilson as justification for not voting on Dalinar. It just feels...weak. This added with the fact that you've admitted your theory is a stretch, and yet went with it on the basis that "It can't be more of a stretch than Lopen's theory." I'm not saying your gut read isn't valid. I'm just saying you're justifying it poorly. The semantics are a bit more valid, I agree, and the slip-ups could be genuine. I do note that I have been suspicious of Lopen for a bit, but due to further events, I will not be voting on him yet. But Rae, are you willing to put a vote where you accusation is? A bit more valid than your suspicion on Stink, yes. Are we looking at the people who brought up the ideas of WGGs now? Because technically the first person to speak on Wilson's death was Len, who didn't think it was helpful, and Elbereth, who disagreed and said we should look further into Wilson's attack. I find myself agreeing with Mage quite a bit this cycle. This lynch on Lopen is forming up fast, with little justification. Let's recap. 1.Rae accused Lopen for claiming Lurcher, and the semantics of his earlier post, plus general bad gut reads. 2.Len places the first vote on Lopen based on this. 3.Joe places a vote on Lopen for being the first to bring up a WGG but not commenting much on it, plus his own bad gut read. 4.Headshot places a vote on Lopen for claiming Lurcher. Three votes placed pretty fast, and with shaky ground at best. Mage said it best above. We assume there's a spiked Lurcher. Lopen claims Lurcher. Everyone jump on Lopen! This actually reminds me of the first day's vote, where an acceptable target was thrown up just as it seemed another was well on his way to being lynched. Don't get me wrong, I'm still not trusting Lopen, but this bandwagoning seems awfully suspicious to me. If you actually did have a role, this claim is fairly unwise Also, that's an interesting theory on Dalinar's post. I'm going to be keeping that in mind. TLDR 1. I am becoming kind of wary of @Arraenae, with her insistence that we allow coinshots to take care of Dalinar, and her accusation of Lopen. 2. I do not believe that Elbereth or Wilson would stoop to lurking or feigning inactivity to go unnoticed. 3. I am suspicious of Joe for his voting reasons. 4. I am still wary of Lopen, but I feel that the building lynch on him is fishy. 5. I believe that every little bit of discussion helps, even if the village already seems bent on lynching a target. Anyways, I'll be going to bed, and probably won't be on in time to change my vote. I'm changing my vote on Dalinar (Headshot) for now, as tho I don't particularly feel anything towards Dalinar, I'm leery of a counter bandwagon forming up. I'm still hoping Headshot will be more discussed the cycle after this. G'night guys!- 1403 replies

Anniversary Game 3: The Curse of the Koloss
Doc12 replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
"There's a corpse in my shop," Rin observed. "Yes, there is." Nikki agreed, with a look that just dared him to disapprove. Rin nodded absently, peering over the clothespeg on his nose to the body of Kip lying on the wooden floor. "You do know I'm going to make you clean up my shop after you're done here?" Nikki proceeded to ignore him, as they started to sponge the corpse. It was not out of any particular respect to the corpse (Nikki was planning to experiment on him after all), rather a concession to their noses and Rin's need of hygiene. He was sleepy. Again, he had overslept the previous day, and had only woken in the evening. If he didn't watch himself, he was going to get another label of "Rin the Late". Lying back, he continued to sort his thoughts on the previous three nights. He supposed it was too late to conduct any sort of analysis on the past three days, but he could begin sorting out what he thought of different people. That could help My current sort-of trusts. El - Rin actually liked El a lot...from a distance. He had often watched her in the apothecary's and admired her insight and quiet skill. He had just...never talked to her much... I am still cautious around El. She was the first to put a vote on Len, for dismissing the Wilson attack easily. I can see where Ecth and Drake believe that she was directing the discussion to Wilson's attack. I am also not a fan of how she began sorting players into who would be more likely to attack Wilson, which prompted Joe to do the same. Still, I am willing to have a village read on her now. Rae *(NIkki)...right. She was one of the most interesting of all. She had come to him, blatantly asking for spikes. A cover? or innocent? She amused him, anyways. Anyways, she had offered advice on day one, which some people disliked as she had advocated revealing the number of mistings between us in the village. She was the first to vote on Reginald on day one. She has been talking a lot, and this gives me a slight trust read on her. She has been an advocate of coinshot kills, which does seem pretty normal, but that doesn't indicate anything about her alignment. Matilda...what to say about her? Behind her drunk, cat loving demeanor lurks a sharp mind She's been highly active and has actually been contributing a lot to discussion. She also has been very active in encouraging discussion, which seems like a village move to me. So far her votes have been poke votes, and tying the vote on day one, which still can be justified as Reginald admitted to asking her to do it. . So yes, I still read village on Matilda. Stink has been expressing his exasperation at the fixation on Reginald, saying that we get no information from a bandwagon. Has voted on Joe. His exasperation at a bandwagon seems village, unless of course Dalinar turns out to be an eliminator. We'll see. My current distrusts Headshot was an interesting man. He spoke a lot, and accused wildly, often without much substance. He was called out on this repeatedly on the first day, leading to many people calling for his death, but he was protected by several others who argued against killing a newcomer on the first day. The argument for protecting a person on the first day I understand, but with the rapid vote switching at the end of the cycle, I can't help but feel that he knows something. Also interesting is the fact that after being one of the primary lynch targets for day one, he has managed to drop under everyone's radar again. Lopen (Sothe)- Many people have expressed suspicion of Lopen, such as Nik, Reginald, Aralis, Joe, Cassius and many others. The main reasons being that he seems to agree easily without saying much of his own. I think the general idea of suspicion on him seems to be him phrasing things weirdly, or responding weirdly. i find his paranoid theory very much of a stretch myself. I'm just watching you. People on whom my trust is contingent on further proof. Herwynbe the put-upon, but never snapping Terrisman. Rin respected him very much. The Terrisman had been gunning hard for Reginald. His reasons make sense. Either Reginald has had extraordinarily luck, or someone has a very vested interest in keeping him alive. And it was likely that those keeping him alive had less than pure intentions. If Dalinar turns out to be an eliminator, Hero is justified. Dalinar (Reginald), the thief, the lucky, the man who just wouldn't die. Not much to say about him here that hasn't been covered by everyone else. People have a vested interest in keeping him alive, having been saved by a Rioter, saved by a Lurcher, and then surviving an attack with Pewter. Has claimed Mistborn, and has proven it so far. If he is spiked, it would explain why the eliminators are trying so hard to keep him alive. If he isn't, then the eliminators are laughing at us. If he is to be lynched this cycle, I would be okay with that, though we should certainly begin discussing others as well. Little Wilson (Whistler)- I'm still not drawing any conclusions from the attack on night one. Wilson has expressed suspicion of Hero for starting the night vote to perhaps direct the coinshot to a target they could protect and thus influence discussion. Wyrmhero (Wyl Sharpe), the jaded private detective. Rin swore he heard muted violins and sax whenever the man walked by with his hat over his head. One of the more vocal players who believed Dalinar was innocent. Again, Dalinar's alignment might shed light on his. People who have spoken too little to get a read on Elenion (Cassius). when he wasn't surrounded by a crowd of admirers, he liked to join bandwagons. He joined the Terrisman's contribution crusade on day 1, going after Mr. Hoid, then going after Reginald. Self-confessed to following the crowd. On day 2 went after Stick, but switched back to Reginald. He suspects Stick and Lopen. Seonid (Lord Conrad). As usual, no one had caught much sight of him except for his servant Rolan posting flyers everywhere. He has also been rather silent. Not unusual for rich, eccentric noblemen. Still, he would have thought the crisis on hand would warrant more attention from a supposed noble in charge of the town. He called for Headshot's death on day one on the grounds that Headshot sounded off, and the same for Reginald's death on day 2. Made no mention of his earlier suspicion on Headshot. Has made some mention of possible role distributions, but nothing much other than taht. Joe (Jack Tormander) was an interesting man. New to Tyrian Falls. Eyes old and weary, as if he had seen a lot. He had been among those involved in the chaos of day one's final hours, voting on Reginald to tie the vote between him and Headshot. Expressed suspicion of Stick, Lopen, Dalinar and Arinian. Has been vocal in trying to identify soothers and rioters, asking every member of the town to vote to find them, and has vowed to vote to prove his vote is sound, even though that logic was called out by others. Ended up not voting. Jondesu (Remart). Rin had to admit a repulsed fascination at watching the man eat. Supposedly, his stomach had even protected him from death. He was one of those attacked last night. Self-claims to be a Thug. Voted for El on day one for bringing the discussion to Whistler, then poked the Abundance Orgaization. He has been suspecting the Terris steward for some time. Though. Rin thought that if Remart had been eating all his food all the time, he would be inclined to kill him too, so if the Terrisman was a spiked, he could see why they would have gone for Remart. Anyway, Remart had voted on Herwynbe on the grounds of subtly trying to influence discussion with the incentive of treats, and has been one of the most vocal in calling for Reginald's death. Other than that...the man just ate. Stick. A nice, if forgetful girl Was part of the group which Ecth messed. Thought Whistler was evil. Has been poke voting. Not sure what to think of her just yet. Nyali (Nyah), a superstitious, but well meaning girl. Clashed with Rae on day one on Rae's advice post. Convinced herself that the lynch on Dalinar was worth it. I would read village on her for her reasons for voting on Rae, and her pointing out a flaw in Lopen's plan, but I know how well Nyali can act village if she wants to. (Consider it a compliment if you're village) Also, what do you mean the vote shenanigans hard clear me? I'm not too clear on that sorry. Magestar (Carmichael) - A compulsive gambler? Was the one who pointed out that even if Jack voted, he could be framed as a vote manipulator easily. Voted on Reginald for information, although stated that the lynch felt contrived. On day one voted for Nikki as he thought some of her advice was weird, but retracted it after he realized he had misunderstood her sentence. Araris (Aralis) the old man, had voted on Nyah and Nikki for their 'superstitions' However, he has also voted on Lopen for only posting agreements and not much analysis of his own. Drake (Felix) - A pretty good kind of fellow, scholarly enough. Rin would have liked to talk more with him. Felix was one to find balanced solutions, wishing for a tie on day one, and only voting on El when pressed. Voted on Dalinar on the belief it would give more information. He brought up an excellent point on Dalinar not claiming Mistborn on day 1 when it seemed like he was about to be lynched. Bugsy (Annix) A reclusive Terrisman whom he had not seen. He likes ciphers. Was suspicious of Rae on day one, thinking she might have copy-pasted advice from elim doc, which I think is a bit of a stretch. After that he retracted his suspicion, saying he realized it was unfounded himself. Gamma (Grumbles) - The grumbly innkeeper who hasn't been seen much of. Then again, Rin wasn't one to frequent bars. Suspects Lopen, Matilda and Headshot. Voted on Headshot the first cycle.Has expressed that if Dalinar is a village mistborn, revealing himself made him less useful. Is of the opinion that mistings should use their abilities at their own judgement, and is wary of spiked smokers and lurchers. Assassin. The Jaist. He seemed a harmless enough man. Voted on Dalinar on day 2, and offhandedly called for Coinshots to attack Dalinar. Voted for Dalinar again today. The man hasn't said much otherwise. Not that he was one to complain. The Silent ones Orlock Tsubodai: Locke Tekiel- Has not said much. Yes, he has said he's going to post soon, which is good. He still gets to stay here for now. Wonko the Sane: Abundance Org - Has not said much other than a vote on Headshot on night one, and a response to Dalinar on how important posting is for the village. Arinian - Another dreamy fellow who doesn't talk much. Voted on Dalinar. Has said he wanted to switch his vote to Wonko. Sart: Another silent one, with only a vote on Conq and Joe. Drought has not said anything at all other than some brief rp and reasons for being inactive. Conq (Mr. Hoid). Forgetful indeed. I've rarely seen him on. Silverblade Ryth. Another silent one. Manukos (Enias)- Has been active in other parts of town, but has not contributed much to discussion besides asking for information on alliances between villagers. Ugh, that took far too long. Rin cracked open an eye, wondering where Nikki had gotten to. The body of Kip lay still on the ground, currently covered by a sheet. Gingerly, he stepped around it, grabbed a loaf of bread from his pantry and headed towards the mansion where the rest of the village should be gathered. He supposed it was time to place a vote. It would have been difficult for his voice to be heard among the press of people, and honestly he didn't feel like forcing his way through the sizable crowd there, so he just eased himself into a corner and brought out the tiny handheld catapult he had built the night before. It was a simple contraption of arranged sticks, a throwing arm, a spring, and a trigger lever, one of his experiments on being able to shoot coins like a Coinshot which had never really worked out. Anyways, winding the spring, he placed a bit of paper in the cup of the catapult, aimed it carefully, and pulled the trigger lever, sending his vote onto some random person's head. There was an indignant yelp. Allowing himself a small smirk, He sank backwards against the wall to rest against the floor, vowing he would not miss any discussion this time. The piece of paper simply said: "For the moment, my vote goes to Hemalurgic Headshot." I want those who called him out for sounding off such as @Seonid, @Wonko the Sane and @Gamma Fiend to see if his posts still do sound off to you. I'm hoping that @Hemalurgic_Headshot will give us his thoughts on Hero, Lopen and Dalinar. On the topic of Hero, I'm unwilling to lynch him until I know Dalinar's alignment. It does seem like Dalinar will once again be leading today's lynch, so we should get results soon. Guys, Even though Dalinar seems to be on track to being killed once and for all today, please discuss other people as well. i've managed to give my thoughts on all players, so any players who don't like what I said about them or wish to clarify something please say something, or if you disagree with my read on another player, say something. Thanks! And ugh, this post took forever to get done...- 1403 replies

Anniversary Game 3: The Curse of the Koloss
Doc12 replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Augh. Finally, finally caught up. Took me a good few hours, I can tell you that. So for most of yesterday and the day before yesterday, those of you who are on Discord and those of you in LG29 would have known that a very close friend of mine is handling a personal tragedy, and though I have been on the Shard, I have refrained from posting or doing more than just skimming. I should be more active now. Sigh. For now I shall refocush me catsh onto the tinker/Rin/Doc12. The catsh are vicioush creaturesh and are more than capable of tearin' him to piecesh if he don't pet them. Rin blinked an eye open to see a nightmare two inches away from his face. His eyes bulged, and he flailed with a wordless yelp. This of course, led to him overbalancing on his chair behind the counter, where of course he had fallen asleep the night before. He had been leaning back, fiddling with some new device or other, chair balanced on two legs with his legs propped up on the counter. And yes, flailing had disturbed the careful balance he had negotiated with the chair all night, and now predictably? This led to him landing in a crumpled heap on the floor, groaning. He cracked open his eye again, and the nightmare screaming at his face resolved itself into old Matilda the mad - no less nightmarish, but explainable at least. Sighing, he propped himself up, and his groping hands found the device by the floor, slipping it into his pocket. Matilda was still going on about throwing her cats, and he groaned again to let her know that he was alive. Finally, he stood and dusted himself off. He must have been more tired than he thought, judging from the too-bright rays of afternoon sun attacking his eyes from the open doorway. Taking a quick glance around his store, he noted that some vials were gone, but there had been some money left on the counter. (Not enough to account for the amount of missing vials, but that was people for you. Some were honest...some werent) Aaaand what was that noise outside? Surprisingly, Matilda dragged him to Lord [mystery person whose name I should probably be aware of] manor, where it seemed the entire town was gathered shotting over something or other. It seemed to be getting unusually heated. Were they...calling for people to die? That was...unusual, especially for a sleepy town like Tyrian Falls. What...was going on? Matilda had limped up beside him, and was cheerfully talking away in her quaint slur. He knew for a fact that the woman wasn't always drunk, and was actually a good deal sharper than most people gave her credit for. He rather liked her, to be honest, even if she was currently listing all the ways her cats could have ripped him to pieces cheerfully. From her, he learned that he'd missed a lot while sleeping. Firstly, there had been a messenger last night who died after ranting about some koloss, after which Lord [mysterious person whose name I should be aware of] had actually opened his home to the villagers (Yes, he was jealous he had missed it), followed by some villagers torching down Whistler's shop. Whistler had claimed he saw several figures who had attempted to kill him before he was saved, and now everyone was discussing who the arsonists and attempted murderers could be. ...Now...now what? Okay, so I've finally read up on the monster amount of pages, and I'm ready to contribute. I'm not sure how to do this in RP, so I'll analyze here for now,. the first vote of the game was placed by Elbereth on Len, for trying to brush off Wilson's death. She gives some possible thoughts into what this might reveal, and whether the decision to kill Wilson on night one would exclude any number of players from the Eliminator team. This launches a lot of discussion on whether there would be an experienced player on the elim team, and another whole lot of discussion on the likeliness of this being a WGG. For the record, I don't feel that it's a WGG. Something I've noticed about her lately in the games I've been with Wilson is her frustration at how her rep affects how players view her. And what she says later, that if she did try a WGG, she would just be drawing a lot of unnecessary attention to herself. Anyways, moving on. This is followed by Rae posting on the roles in the game and her own advice to each role. I do have some problems with her advice. As many other players have pointed out, getting the tineyes to reveal their number, or any other role, for that matter, only tells the eliminators how many they have to kill to cripple our communications. Other than that, I also feel that her advice is sound enough. As for Nyali's disagreement with her over the vote manipulation, I think what they have come up with is that vote manipulation, if used, should not be used randomly, but should be used to ensure decisive lynches or to save people they are sure are innocent. After this, Madagascar comes in with some excellent art on the inactives (of which I should no longer be included, thank you) and kicks off the first vote on Conquestor. Bugsy gives some thoughts on ciphers and expresses distrust of Rae for giving information which asks roles to reveal themselves. Nyali follows up on this by putting a vote on Rae. Nyali recommends that vote manipulation and vig kills to be used at own discretion, and Seekers should create trust groups. Kipper then tries to put a stop to the discussion by pointing out that there are equally valid motivations for a villager or eliminator to save Wilson, and that the attack on Wilson in no way sheds any light on her alignment. Wilson then comes in with a post on her own about why she would be the last person to pull a WGG on. Joe comes in with a tier of people who are likely to not want to kill Wilson, and those who might, which frankly I find not very helpful, for as another player points out, the team is not a single voice, and just because one might have been very opposed to it, it does not mean the entire team would follow through. Mage puts a vote on Rae due to misunderstanding her post about killing inactives. Araris puts a vote on Lopen for not seeming helpful. Lopen puts a vote on Nyali for allegedly trying to make Rae's post seem more evil. Headshot and Ecth have a quick back and forth on why Headshot finds Ecth suspicious. Dalinar and Straw pop in with quick short posts and votes. Ecth brings up a point that i agree with, that the eliminators are going to want us to focus on the attack on Wilson. If it was a WGG, they want it discussed. If it wasn't, it distracts us. Votes on El There's a series of posts clarifying Rae's original post, which leads to Mage retracting his vote. A crusade on Conquestor forms. Multiple people find Headshot's posts off. Drake agrees that El seems to be trying to direct the conversation.Rae comments on Dalinar's post, which leads to a bandwagon forming on Dalinar. I do agree with Drake and Ecth that the people directing the discussion to the attack on Wilson might be eliminators trying to direct our attention, but for now I don't think it's El. As she stated, El would be extremely reluctant to kill Wilson. She would kill her if it's practical later in game, but I think El cares for Wilson enough to put her foot down on attacking Wilson night one. On Headshot, I'm not quite sure. He's a new player, so we're bound to be unaccustomed to his playstyle. For now I'm going to watch him, but I'm not going to vote on him yet. On Dalinar, however, I do find myself agreeing with Rae's post. He lists down a number of people he vaguely suspects, then chooses to throw a vote on Conq, a safe vote. He would be the vote I'm most likely to join. My impression is a series of targets rising and falling. First was the lynch on Conq, which garnered four votes pretty quickly, which died off when he posted, followed by a series of votes for Headshot, which then began to subside. the current lucky winner of the bandwagon is Dalinar. As it stands, the votes are very heavily divided now, with no signs of a clear lynch. So I'll solidify the vote with a vote on Dalinar. EDIT: Just so you guys know, I started typing this post when Hero's post came in, and was still working on it when Nyali's post came in >> EDIT 2: Also, apparently no one wants to talk to me I haven't received any PMs at all I'll probably start a few, but I'd love to talk with anyone that wants to.- 1403 replies

Mid-Range Game 19: Return to Urithiru
Doc12 replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Was it not the greatest of ironies that the man who never spoke would be the man who would save them all? And he had saved them all, hadn't he? As the sun rose and the people gathered, he had been waiting for them in the square. Glowing. His brothers behind him. He had to admit his respect for Sani. For her flaws and her indiscretion, the woman certainly knew how to make the best out of a horrible situation. Not a single Diagrammist had been lost, even as the Sons and the Ghostbloods agreed to kill each other in the name of peace. And as they arrived, he saw the shock on their faces. Him? No one had even thought him of being the Bondsmith, had they? Interesting how that worked. The sky rumbled ominously. He gave the heavens a tight smile. He spread his arms, trailing Stormlight, watched as Ghostblood and Son of Honor stood side by side, exchanging hesitant smiles and talking about how they did. Idly, he wondered if he had even needed to use his Surges to unite them. They were already desperate for peace themselves, none of them had even tried to betray the pact. He wondered if they had been worried. He had been worried. Turns out, he didn't have to be. Are you going to do it or not. The Stormfather. Finally he speaks. But back to the people. No, he probably did not need to expend any of his Surges. He supposed that there wouldnt even have needed to be a real Bondsmith standing in front of them - they were so ready to agree to this alliance. But there was a real Bondsmith, and now, he closed his eyes, feeling his connection to the Stormfather strengthen, and he did it. The assembled throng stood straighter, they turned to each other, and it seemed that their previous factions fell away. No longer at a headways, they were all now united in a common cause. A cause they all believed in and would now die for. And that cause would be the Diagram. The perfect Diagram. All is as the Diagram wills it. May the Almighty have mercy on our souls. So yes, that was an interesting game! I have to admit I was really excited to have the chance to be evil again, only to be severely disappointed when our identities were leaked on the very first day. I was looking to being subtle and scheming and all... Even though we won, I admit I was slightly disappointed by the outcome. This had looked to be a really fun game with lots of potential for scheming and backstabbing, and all of that went away on the second day. Even going for the Bondsmith win felt slightly cheap to me, and I only decided to fully commit to it when Joe and Drought told me that they had committed to it without planning a betrayal. Even when the Bondsmith win was decided to be the condition all of us were going for, I was forming contingency plans, fully expecting the pact to be betrayed by either the Ghostbloods or the Sons. What can I say? SE has corrupted me already Anyway, I do hope this game gets run again, Wilson, and I hope you aren't too disappointed at how early it ended It really did seem like a fun game.- 329 replies

As Stick put it, who the storms tried to attack me?? Ahem. Anyway, yes, there have been three 'Hoid' accusations being thrown around today, so let's examine them, shall we? Hoid 1: Arinian Accuser: Drought Reason: Has been encouraging other players to be active. Suspicious because he might be Hoid looking for active players to convert. Objections? There are still plenty of active players in game. Only true inactives are Darkness, Elodin, Straw, Dalinar, Rubiks, Zephrer and Kas. I don't think they've been posting. All the other players have been posting through the cycles. Also, Arinian has claimed Survival, and so far no one has challenged him on that. Hoid 2: Bard Accuser: Elenion Reason: Elenion has claimed Odium, and claims to have attempted and failed to Invest in Bard. Elenion claims this cycle's failed attack on Bard also. Thus, Bard is a Shard/Hoid. Seeing as Odium's attack did not shatter Bard's alleged Shard, he must have been protected by Honor/Knight Radiant/Lifeless Commander, which points to him being Hoid. Objections? There could be the simple fact that the person or Shard protecting Bard is not 17th, but a person who trusts Bard, which would poke a hole in the 'being protected means he's Hoid' theory. I'm surprised Bard didn't bring this up. Bard could also be Survival, the Shard with extra lives. Hoid 3: Elenion Accuser: Bard Reason: Non given, except he suspects a ploy from the real Hoid to get him lynched. Objections? Well, Elenion is trying to get Bard lynched... Out of these three, I'm going to go with Bard. 1. Elenion's accusation. If Elenion's claim of being the village Odium is true, then his accusation would make perfect sense. His reasons for believing you are Hoid are pretty solid, except for the holes I've pointed out, being that 1. You and/or your protector might not even have been 17th, but just trusting each other, or 2. You're Survival. 2. However, you did not bring either of these holes up. Instead, you started wondering why Len was going after you of all people, and simply asked the village to pick a side, claiming Autonomite in the process. 3. Your claiming Autonomite is immediately dispelled by Alvron, who calls you out on it. 4. Also, as Len said, you did not claim Survival. Out of these four reasons, the one that sticks out to me the most is reason 2. Instead of responding to his accusation or explaining how he survived, he merely wonders why he's being targeted and asks the village to pick a side. A side which another claimed Autonomite has said he's not on. So yes, I'm hoping you respond to this, Bard. Anyways, some other thoughts on the other players. I find it funny that when Len was first accused of being Odium by Aonar, replies "Your logic is very very wrong", but in his next post basically admits he's Odium after Aonar gives his reasons for thinking so. He reveals himself to be able to lynch Bard. I find this very interesting indeed, because his tone seems sincere in both posts. What conclusion do I get out of this? That Elenion might not be Odium himself, but midway he decides to claim Odium. This is only speculation on my part, due to his abrupt change. Secondly, Drought and Dalinar are posting again! Nice. Drought exchanges some words with Arinian about inactivity, and comes up with a vote for Arinian based on his self-declared crackpot theory, while Dalinar wonders if Cultivation would be kind enough to unshatter a Shard. Currently, the only shattered Shard in the game is Devotion, so...are you trying to tell us something, Dalinar? If Preservation had still been in the game, I would have suspected Dalinar of being 17th due to his desire to unshatter Shards, but for now it seems innocent enough. Thirdly, I am now currently trying to figure out how exactly Bard survived. The writeups themselves seem to be giving hints to how people survive. When Sart was attacked, many people guessed he was a Feruchemist from how he was described surviving. And now that I was attacked, I'm revealed to be a Lifeless Commander due to the dead lifeless hint. Reading into Bard's scene, 'something within him changed' doesn't seem like much. Bard, could you elaborate? That's all for now, I guess. ...I'd still like to know why I was attacked

Some questions, and some observations. Vote to come later in the cycle. 1. @Sart. This is just out of curiosity, but the writeup said you had something very important to tell us. Was that just flavor, or was there actually something? I just wondered after seeing the writeup, and seeing you post, but say nothing about your own survival. 2. Anyone know what action Sheep took before he died? 3. Len, I'm just curious as to how you've seemed fairly certain that I might have been turned by Autonomy. I'm just wondering where you drew this conclusion from. And moving on to observations. 1. Elenion's claim of being an Elantrian I have to say, this is convincing evidence. Seeing as no one else is refuting his claim of changing those two votes, and those two vote changes are consistent with the targets he has been attacking, added to the fact that his life was on the line in both lynches, this makes me believe that he is telling the truth about being an Elantrian. On the second part of his claim, I also have to find myself agreeing. If it was him that moved the votes to Mage, then he has chosen to remove Preservation from the game. It still could be a gambit, the 17th having chosen to forsake that primary win con, but at this stage in the game, it makes no sense for one of them to decide to burn the bridges for that first win con. For that reason, I don't think I can accuse Len of being 17th anymore. 2. Speaking of the Mage lynch, I believe that those who voted on Mage are soft-cleared of being 17th, mostly with the same reasoning that it still doesn't make sense for the 17th to forcibly deny themselves their primary, easier win condition. Mage had made it very clear he had Preservation, and so I'm inclined to look more favorably on those who voted on him. 3.Speaking of Mage, I don't believe he was 17th after all, despite what Alvron said about him trying to trick Cultivation into unshattering Preservation. If he had truly been 17th, there was still time in the cycle for him to have passed the Shard to one of his teammates when it became clear that he was going to be lynched. Of course, he might not have been online when the lynch tipped, but still, when there was a chance of him dying, he did not pass the Shard, which would have been wiser for him to do. Thus I'm inclined to believe he is not 17th. We'll see. 4.In this cycle, Arinian's claim of being Survival. Many players have already noted his indecisiveness in voting, and above, Aonar has made mention of how Arinian seems to be trying to conform to the general opinion to stay alive. His actions seem consistent with his claim for now. Arinian, I suggest you start looking to pass the Shard, for by revealing that you have a Shard, you've just painted a target on your back. 5. Speaking of Arinian, he seems to have a fixation on Aonar. He seems to have asked after Aonar a couple of times in the last few cycles, specifically Aonar, such as the time he mentioned Aonar twice in day 4 And he starts off this cycle by trying to poke Aonar. I'm not sure what to make of this, but this seems oddly focused. 7. The Ruin and Odium kills. Yesterday's Ruin kill was a bit of a surprise, considering it had been a while since he last struck. Similarly, Odium's kill was unexpected this cycle as he had not killed since he struck Jondesu. This leads me to believe that the Vessels are either villagers who are very cautious about their vigilante kills, or more likely, sporadically active villagers. This makes me look at people like Araris, Aonar, and Bard, who have been on intermittently, enough to have swept over the thread and put in an action or two and stay caught up with the information. Sart, Stick, Rubiks, Assassin and Drought have also been generally on and off, which might make the intermittent kills make sense. That's about all I have to say for now. As of now, I have no active suspicions to act on just yet, but I will be voting in this cycle.

Mid-Range Game 19: Return to Urithiru
Doc12 replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Silence did not react when the his name had been mentioned along with the other Diagrammists in the crazed Edgedancer's accusation. Disappointment. Frustration. Anger. He did not react when the Sanis stood and started shouting her true nature to the heavens. Anger. Then people started standing and shouting and talking one over another. And he realized that an alliance was forming. A small smile tugged at the edges of his mouth. All will be in accordance to the Diagram.. Watching for a moment later at the chaos that ensued, he turned with a little sigh. Even if it was hard to see how. He only trusted. And for that reason he was calm. He turned to leave. Before he melted into the shadows again, he whispered a single name: Sart. Then he left with only the shadow of a sound.- 329 replies

Anniversary Game 3: The Curse of the Koloss
Doc12 replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Rin fixed his eyes on the koloss currently standing in his store, palms still raised. Okay, it wasnt actually a koloss, more an exhausted girl with a wild look in her eyes and crazy requests. But hey, strong, doesn't like words, resorting to force? koloss. Oh, he had to needle a pewterarm. Just had to. Couldnt resist, could he? fantastic. Eyes still never leaving the girl, he spoke. "You wanted spikes. Fifteen spikes. Now, what is the only thing in Scadrial known for having lots of spikes?” He held up the copper spike. “One or two? Eh. Maybe you wanted nails, or something. Ten spikes? All of different metals?” He looked her dead in the eyes. “You’re experimenting. And you mentioned you were doing this for your father. Either he wants to be an Inquisitor, which would kind of explain the wits that his daughter inherited…” He paused. Perhaps it was better not to further antagonize a girl who could break his leg with a single stomp. Hastily, he continued “...or he’s currently an inquisitor, and you’re curious to know how it works. In which case… I have no words." Looking at her, he saw her start at his second guess. Wow. Wow. That degree of idiocy... But. He supposed he couldn't blame her too much. His own parents had disappeared when he was a child, and he understood that drive to do anything to want to help them. But still. An Inquisitor. The girl was still watching him with narrowed eyes. Learning how an Inquisitor works. It was insane. And yet. He couldnt deny he was curious. Blast you, Rin. Blast your endless curiosity. You think yourself too clever for your own good. Just. Turn her down and send her to Luthadel. or somewhere. Somewhere where a less wise metallurgist might be able to help her...unlock the secrets of an Inquisitor. yes. He was going to say no. "I'll do it," His mouth said. Damntation take you, mouth. No. dont smirk. Stop smirking. He looked the girl dead in her eyes, watching her eyes light up. "As long as I get to come along." ...Sigh. Rin, tinker, with a touch of neat freak thrown in. Wanted to go scholarly, but finding a book quote for every single post? Daunting- 1403 replies

Mid-Range Game 19: Return to Urithiru
Doc12 replied to little wilson's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Silence said nothing. He rarely put his opinions outright. He waited, he smiled. But he watched. He watched, and he took notes. The day had started innocently enough. As the hubbub in the market stall had died down, Sart had been the first to speak, threatening to hang Bzeth unless he spoke. A typical start to a day in Urithiru, he was sure. Then Seonid had spoken up, stating the possibility of the two factions hidden among the crowd, and the evil third faction, to win together with the help of a Bondsmith. The question of whether allying themselves with...the other faction, and the diagrammists, guided by this Bondsmith, was picked up by Ryth, and after that, everyone who spoke had an opinion on whether a truce would be negotiated, or a time and place for all to die. This discussion had then been brought to an abrupt halt by Sani, who had reminded the listeners that this plan would require total honestly among all three factions. Hah. What do the Ghostbloods/Sons of Honor/Diagrammists know of honesty? They were secret societies. There was also the fact that this plan would require each faction to sacrifice some of their number to achieve this goal. And so, the discussion mostly stopped. Secondly, the question of how each faction would have been organized in terms of numbers was brought up, first by Drak, although it mostly went unremarked on until Seonid picked it up. This line of thought had also been rapidly picked up by the other people here, as everyone gave their thoughts on this math. This was until the Lady Berelen noted that this discussion was irrelevant and distracting, and the discussion stopped. After that, discussions of note would have been Davis and Sani having a discussion on the merits of having a hanging this early, after some people expressed doubts on their ability to analyze, namely Seonid and Mr. Hoid. There was also a brief conversation on the abilities of each rank to create messages to those under them when Ryth misunderstood some rule. Finally, Velez had given some ideas on how each faction may set their Radiants to find the Diagrammists. Trusts. Who could he trust? He did not even know if he could trust his commander, with the possibility that someone in the higher ranks was a spy. But for now, as he watched the crowd mill around, he decided that he was inclined to trust Sani and lady Berelen, for their recognization of distracting topics and heading them off. In terms of advice, Sani had been one of the most outspoken, joining in on every discussion and giving practical advice. Velez, too, has been the first to actually give advice to the people around on how best to find the Diagrammists. His ideas were sound, and would even serve to cripple the diagrammist's organization. And so Silence was inclined to trust Velez. As for things he had noticed. He had noticed the attention on Nelop. Lady Berelen had first called him out for lurking in the shadows, and soon after that Drake had thrown a vote on him. It was interesting to note. Of course, Lady Berelen had called out several other lurkers. It was just curious that this newcomer, Drake, would settle on him as well. For now, he would only watch Lady Berelen and Drake. He had no particular thoughts on Ryth. It had not been Ryth who had first started the Bondsmith discussion, but rather Seonid. He did not understand why it was on Ryth that the others were focusing on. Quintus...why had he voted on Sart? From his memory, Sart had only spoken twice, once in the morning to poke Bzeth, and once again to defend the intentions (or lack thereof) behind that vote. There seemed to be no reason to vote for the man at all! And now, finally, as his thoughts gathered, he decided he would vote. Yes, he would vote on the person that had headed two of the distracting topics that day, the Bondsmith victory and the organization within each faction. Once was a forgivable mistake. Twice could be coincidence. But in a time where no one could trust each other, he supposed that coincidence was better than nothing. Finally, finally he opened his mouth. "I will vote on Seonid," Then he retreated back to watch.- 329 replies

Firstly, welcome back, Sheep! Secondly, good on you for surviving the attack, Mage. Better pass the Shard quick, though. You have a large target painted on you currently. Thirdly, as per the suspicion I posted last night, I will be placing my vote on Elenion. The charges I bring against him are 1. Seeming to want to keep the 17th Shard out of the spotlight 2. Seemingly knowing Lopen was Odium despite not being able to present convincing evidence. Len, you have not responded to my suspicion, only posting a list of your own suspicions. I'm hoping everyone else will pitch in and judge the validity of my evidence for themselves. Now to some other thoughts. Mage, I have to admit I now have a suspicion of you. I understand your reasons for obfuscating the truth, of course, but still. I'll be waiting for that promised elaboration. Arinian, I'm a little confused as to why you retracted your vote on Mage. You gave three reasons for wanting to lynch Mage, them being 1. He is claiming roles erratically 2. He is the Shard of Survival 3. He is just a bad guy. You asked Seonid a question about Shattered Shards and what happens to a holder, and after he answered, you retracted your vote, despite Seonid's answer not having any direct relevance to those three reasons you voted for Mage in the first place. So I'm curious, I guess. Lastly, Rubik's question seemed a little curious, but I have nothing much to say about that. Oh, and Len posted a suspicion list last night, which I went over, And I might be biased because I think you're 17th, Len, but currently I'm going to watch Araris, Mage and Straw a little closer :P. Based on past games, you do tend to be a little audacious when posting your gut reads. @Kasimir, when you get on, I'm wondering if you could explain why you Forged Araris, and the results you got. Mage, I'm already watching, and I haven't really seen Straw around lately... I realize that currently I'm currently holding a bias and might not be completely objective, so don't take this last section too seriously. Hope to see more discussion when I'm back.

I disagree, good sir. I feel that your debate with Kas has been most enlightening, and has given me two very strong reads, so thank you for that! So, if Lopen was Odium, then you would have pointed at Lopen correctly. However, as has been pointed out in the last cycle, your main argument against Lopen was the seeming use of a RNG to determine kills, and the fact that it would be a more experienced player who would use that tactic. I believe Kasimir or Alvron pointed out that Lopen was not the only experienced player in the game, at which point you came up with reasons why the other experienced players were not likely to be evil. To me, that sounds a little off. You state that your reasons are the kill patterns, and gut read. So at this point, I'm wondering 'what logic?' I don't mean to cause offense, but frankly, your given reasons for voting on Lopen were basically gut read and the aforementioned kill distribution, which cannot really be used to pin down one specific player. What does this mean? Well, if Alv was right and you had successfully pointed a finger at Odium, with nothing more than gut read and a generalization, it makes me feel that you know a bit more than you're telling us. As a player in our World PM stated, you might very well be someone who started with knowledge of the Shardholders, and was hoping that being the first to accuse Odium and help the village lynch him would engender you into a position of trust. Kas has also pointed out how you have been seemingly keeping the focus on Odium instead of the 17th shard, and I am inclined to agree, for now. There is also the votes last cycle. When I went to bed, Len and Lopen were the main targets for the lynch, and as I went to bed Len was leading the lynch by two votes. When I checked the thread the next morning, Lopen was in the lead, with only two votes on Len. Reading over the last cycle, there was a fair bit of vote switching near the end of the cycle, and an un-subtle bandwagon, as Bard pointed out. It's just something which makes me feel more and more convinced that Len is a 17th Sharder. Possibly Hoid himself. So that's something I've noticed, my suspicions out in the open. If I die tonight, well, you'll know my final suspicions. If i get converted tonight, heh, it would be a little harder for me to switch stances, given that I've flat out stated my suspicion, and to change it would be immediately obvious. Goodnight, all!

Silence decided he had done too much living up to his name... =o=o=o=o=o=o= Well, this game has been hard to keep track of...I apologize for being a lurker. I am not inactive, I have been keeping an eye on what happens in the thread, but with a dead world PM and no other PMs to speak of, it's easy to sit back and watch. In a large game like this, with so many different variables, I gave up trying to analyze and summarize posts, and it became easier every cycle to stay quiet and harder to break into the discussion. But yes, just confirming that I am not inactive, and watching. Anyways, I'm hoping to worldhop today, and I'm hoping to worldhop to an active world. If someone could point me at a world where people are talking, that would be very nice. A thought I had that might be useful. To find Autonomy, look over the last day's thread and see who was in favor of saving Joe. I doubt that Autonomy would actually want their Agent to suicide. I'm not saying that Autonomy is sure to have spoken out in favor, it's just what I'm doing to make notes on players....I really should start making notes on players. Okay, onto today's topic. Of the three people up for lynch today, I will say I have absolutely no interaction with any of them, heh. Len is on the same world I am now, but as the PM has been dead since I got there, I haven't learnt anything. So. I might go back and read over their posts from the last few cycles, but from this cycle? I find myself agreeing with Kas about Len's logic being shaky. The use of the 'random kill pattern' might be true, but to direct it at an old player at random seems strange. Your later post after Kas corrected you about older players sounds like justification thought up to cover the fact that you actually wanted to target Lopen. Elenion. Sound evidence is hard to come by. I have no idea what Lopen is, and I have no evidence to offer you. For all we know he might be, as Alv said, someone the village needs gone. That's okay, if that's true, we might be able to find out more tonight. Right now, what evidence I have is watching you accuse another player with evidence that doesn't really hold up. I am not questioning the validity of your gut reads, I know everyone has them. The one thing that makes me hold on to my vote on you is the fact that, as stated above, you seem to be trying to validate this read with a generalization and not really considering other avenues. I do still have some reservations, I am not fully sure on this action. I am not likely to change my vote, however, unless there's some discussion that sways me. I respect you for trying to start up discussion again. I hope I'm making the right choice.

Hey guys, I'm sorry for not posting the last day. I had mistakenly assumed that the night cycle would last 48 hours and planned to post on night one. We see how well that assumption turned out for me :P. I. don't really have much to say. Sheep and Joe were the most active the last cycle, and to me, both sounded sincere in what they did, and to be absolutely honest, I wanted Joe to stay dead so we could see his alignment and figure out where to work from from there. I'm in Nalthis this cycle, I worldhopped there away from Taldain because it was too silent there, only to find an equally silent planet on Nalthis :P. I'm not going to place a vote just yet, but I promise to be a lot more active this day cycle.
