  1. I would love this
  2. Kyrian was dead. Galen wondered how he felt about the issue. On one hand, Kyrian had been an unpleasant and annoying suitor for Riri's hand. On the other, their families had been friends, even allies, in the past. Lord Ruler, if it hadn't been for his insistence on courting Rhiannon, they might even have been friends. The man's fascination for rhythms and music matched the intensity of his fascination with the past, and he had quietly admired him for that. Lord Ruler, Riri is going to be devastated. Two of her suitors dead in the same night. But he was dead. As was Variel, and one other noble. What did it mean, that the skaa were now apparently willing to move so boldly? Or was it worse than that? Had a House War started again? Galen clenched his fists so tight his knuckles turned white. A House War. No, that couldn't happen. It couldn't. All his life, he had been running from the responsibilities of House Aurette, hiding and dipping into books to duck the responsibilities of being the heir to the house. Somehow, he had always thought that someone might come to take that responsibility away from him. Someone who didn't have his head in the air and avoided socializing like the plague. Rusts, even Rhiannon could do a better job. But if war was coming... he would have to take up his mantle, and guide his House through. Oh Lord Ruler... Lord Ruler, grant me strength... Galen Aurette finally stood. He picked up his dropped book, and gently returned it to the shelf, running his hands over the spines as if to say a final goodbye. Letters would have to be written to the other Houses. Before any action is taken, investigation must first be undertaken to find if any house would claim responsibility for Kyrian's death, to find out if it truly was the skaa who had killed him. If any house knows who killed Variel, let a representative message Galen Aurette and confess to the crime. Action would not be immediately taken against that house, but the gesture would be appreciated and would clear the muddied waters to see if a House War truly was necessary. The skaa who died yesterday had been an infiltrator of one House. He was certain that each House had now been compromised, even his own. There is at least one skaa among each noble house. It was now of utmost necessity that each House conduct an investigation into its own affairs and root out the traitor among their midst before nobles begin killing nobles. Politics can wait. This was maintaining the natural order of things. He had been idle, unaware of his surroundings. He only prayed he had not awoken too late. He called for parchment and quill, then paused. Yes, all this was important, but he had almost forgotten his other duty. He had to find Rhiannon. Maintaining the natural order could wait... This was his sister. @Ookla the Rae
  3. Footsteps in the square. Galen looked up from his book just in time to step out of the way of a stranger determinedly striding past. A small smile curled over his lips as he watched the man disappearing into the mist, trailed by a hapless skaa with a parasol. The man had been dressed in crème and white, sharp and spotless. White. In Luthadel. How he pitied the skaa who was in charge of that man's laundry. Good fashion sense though, he had to admit. Maybe he could send Riri after the stranger to offer him House Aurette's catalogue. In any case, he stepped further back away from the center of the square to avoid any more mishaps, just as Variel stepped into the square. Hidden as he was in the mists with his camouflaged robes (two can play at the game, sister dear), he glared daggers into the back of Variel's neck. Suddenly, a bundle of robes came rushing into the square, crashing straight into Variel. He stumbled backwards, just as the bundle began to babble- "Vars, thank the Lord Ruler you're here. I saw this really sketch man in an alleyway, and he had a knife, and -- and --" Riri stopped to regain her breath. sketchy man? knife? Book tucked into his pack, Galen drew a knife of his own, and emerged from the mists, making Riri yelp. She scrabbled for Variel's knife Ah...he was still hooded. and holding a knife. Holding out his palm, he pushed back his hood, exposing his messy hair and sheepish smile. "Hello, sister dear. What's this about a guy with a knife?" @Ookla the Rae
  4. Hearing the creak of a closing door, Galen looked up from his book. Riri. Sighing, he shut the thick tome, resting it on the shelf, before doing a quick check of his sister's room that confirmed his suspicions. She'd sneaked out again. Murmuring softly to himself, he pulled on his jacket and a hooded cloak around his shoulders. A small knife was concealed into a sheath by his side, and he strode to the door. He knew he didn't have a chance of finding her in the ash and mists. Rhiannon was small, nimble, and knew how to hide. She was not as good though, at actually hiding where she would have gone, or who with. He pushed the door open, then paused. It might be a long stakeout. He returned for his book, tucking it under an arm. Then he strode out into the mists. @Ookla the Rae
  5. Well, its a break for me, so I should be able to actually play, something I haven't done for a long, long time. I haven't decided on a name yet, but count me in if it isn't too late.
  6. So... Rae just contacted me on facebook to ask me why I haven't been on. I'm ashamed to admit it, but...I completely forgot about this game. I'm sorry. The past few days have been insanely busy for me, and midterms are still coming up. I am very sorry for signing up for this game and becoming inactive. I was asked to by a friend, but I should have said no then. So. I really can't promise a post in the next two days, as I have two exams on Friday, so I'll be further inactive. If anyone with a kill is willing to clean up an inactive, I'll be willing to die to remove deadweight from this game. I'm sorry, and if I am still alive by next week, I'll try my best to return to this game.
  7. Can't be here long, but it feels like this very well could be the final cycle of the game. The active players are Alvron, Orlok and Jondesu, and now Manukos, and the relatively inactive ones are Brightness, Sony and Mestiv. The impression that Straw gives me is the same impression Orlok states - that he is distancing himself from the discussion. Of the active players, I do not yet know if I can trust Orlok. He was attacked twice, yes, but Orlok is known as a forceful and persuasive player, and a very effective teammate to have trusted. If I was on the evil team, trading two early kills for having a powerful piece on the board in the late game would be worth it. On Alvron, yes, we have grown to be able to read the gist of his messages, and it is easy to be amused by him and disregard him, to be happy enough with figuring out his messages that we don't think further on whether these messages are valid. On Jondesu, he became active in the past few cycles, and revealed himself as a noble. Somehow, he is not dead yet. I wonder if you could tell us the number of nobles still residing in the doc, @Jondesu? How close is the threat of having the eliminators control the noble kill? Right now, I know the need for a unanimous vote, so I'm going to go with Straw and hope my trust does not doom me. I'll try to be back before end of cycle.
  8. Well nice to see I've been missed I have posted in the other game I'm in, but I've had a crazy weekend full of homework, and am currently stealing time off that to participate in this game as a favor to a friend. So...why exactly am I being targeted? I know you want someone to vote on, but your reasons are really, really flimsy. You say that the Seer role should be given to an experienced player. I remind you of LG2 where the Inquisitor role was given to a new player. Besides, there are many players here who precede me in experience and reputation, so why would I be picked out? Other than the reason that there's already a vote for me, which... is really not much of a reason other than that you really want to see someone dead fast. Poke votes are nice, sure, and you say you want to back up your threats. What is your threat? We said we were going to kill someone, so we're going to? The lynch is not simply a mechanism for killing people, it's for generating information, and killing someone just because is a horrible reason to vote. I'm currently torn between Aman and Orlok's arguments. If you must poke vote someone, I suggest changing the tone of your threat. Instead of we need to kill someone because we should back up our threat, actually try to generate information by asking a question? Lynches make a player talk, make him reveal connections to other players or their views on the game, and that's what is important. I agree with Aman that currently the lynch is pretty much useless for finding an eliminator, or for revealing connections. Seriously, our chances to hit the eliminator are low, and the thug claim would come out anyway. Ask a player what they feel about another player? Of course those feelings are going to change, it's a conversion game, and it's day 1. There is a very high chance that we'll hit a villager, and the Seer would thank us for making his job one step easier. However, Orlok has a good point in that making a player state their views on the game. I would like to ask what kind of views he is searching for, however. Today has already been good for bringing out different player's views of a day one lynch. What other information do you seek to find by advocating a lynch today? After considering, I am abstaining from a vote today.
  9. I'm so sorry I've not been posting, the weekend has come with a flood of homework that I did not anticipate and I am stressed beyond belief. I stayed up to three last night working on two separate papers, and the load is not letting up. It does not excuse me for neglecting my promise to myself to post here, and I promise that I will be back. Perhaps not this cycle, but I will not abandon this game entirely and be inactive. I'm truly sorry, but I do not have the time to actually read through yesterday and today's discussion and analyse it. If I am spared, I will come back next cycle, I promise.
  10. Enter Rin into this world of treachery and fear. Orphan, skaa, beggar, thief. Silent, broken, tries to smile. Why is he trying - - trying to survive?
  11. Can I just say that you're all new to me? I've been away for so long I don't know who the experienced new kids are. This post annoys me, as really, it does nothing but promote confusion if you're village, and an silly one if you're an eliminator. Or perhaps you're drawing on the fear that you might be a jester to keep you alive. There are no known jester roles, and no known roles that would turn a lynch on you against us, so either you have a secret role, or you hold an item such as Pipe weed or the One ring (If Straw is to be believed). Either way, I certainly believe you're worth lynching to call your bluff. Wilson's WGG in AG3 has completely broken my trust in situations like this. I definitely am not crossing off Orlok from the list, nor those who would defend him. @Roadwalker, you acknowledged my point in the last cycle that you were not actually saying anything of relevance to the game, and you agreed you have overused this 'new kid' card. Sadly, I do not see anything changing with this cycle, with OOG speculations and more speculations on Isengard based on tags. Again, while speculations are well and good, I have the suspicion that your ramblings might be an attempt to distract us from the fact that you have nothing much to say, or simply to promote discussion on other aspects such as Isengard on which we have nothing to go on. If you really are trying to stop being a new kid, you'll know you have to do better. From this cycle, then, my suspicions fall on Roadwalker and Manukos. There is also a vote on Steeldancer by Alv and Orlok. I have yet to make sense of Alv's ramblings, but I'm beginning to see that his ramblings might not be as random as they first seem. Sadly, I am still unable to find the meaning in them. Orlok, on the other hand gave reasons very similar to why I am targeting Roadwalker. @Orlok Tsubodai Could you state your opinion on Roadwalker, and perhaps why you think that Alv's decision to vote on Steeldancer is one worthy of joining? For now, I am willing to try and get Manukos lynched, but if there is a compelling argument to investigate further into Steeldancer, I will change my vote. The Steward, dead. Struck by the hand of the Valar, they say. Ninor snorted at that. The Steward had likely died from sitting all day on the step and doing nothing at all. What did the Vala care for the affairs of men? Men who ran, men who did nothing as their world collapsed around them. A burning building, crunching wood. A man saved from deadly flame. No. Yes. That. that had been courage. The courage of a simple guardsman, running into the fire when he, an elf with far superior physical advantages, had done nothing. He could have. He didn't. And now he was shamed. Surely that one man did not represent all the men of Numenor. No, they were more in kin to the steward who had fallen over - falling without a sound, without making any impact to the world whatsoever. Yes. Numenor was the steward, decaying, dying meekly to the empty silence. He would have been content with that, except for the continued nagging of his conscience. Does one fat steward represent all of Man, then, when the courageous guardsman could not? Shadows take that logic. He could not deceive himself, not even if he wished to. Must he who had no need for doubt now begin to doubt? What was he to think of men now? What was he to condemn them all to hopelessness? He, an elf, one who would gladly quit this land for another fairer one, who was he now to judge those who had to remain, those who would still raise their swords in defiance of the shadow? What was this courage, that shamed him so?
  12. Please tell me you didn't use your ability just to tell us this So today's discussion seems mainly centered on the politicians and what factions they were from. After some thought, and because the fact that there were no votes yesterday essentially guaranteed a kill (If one politician did not know the other was also voting), I find myself agreeing with Orlok that it would be a particularly rash or trigger-happy villager to cast that vote. There's been a lot of speculation on this third faction, and yes, from a story perspective, Isengard would make perfect sense. It would certainly explain why there were two votes with intent to kill, without blaming the rashness of an innocent. This third faction would certainly not be a friend to Gondor either, but at the same time would be a threat towards Mordor. In any case, looking at the reveal this cycle of Lemon, I have decided to not place a vote on him. On one hand, his playstyle and how he missed the vote count could certainly point towards his inexperience and explain the killing vote. On the other hand, perhaps it can also be indicative of how he might have conceivably have slipped and didn't think his vote through. He certainly claims he gave not much thought to the vote itself. In any case, I would grant him the benefit of the doubt. A revealed role can be harmful or beneficial to the elims, but I do not think I want Lemon dead just yet. I would want to put pressure on people like Alvron, though. As much as we signed up to have fun, part of the game is analysis, and some thoughts scattered among your insanity would be very helpful. I am also watching Manukos and Roadwalker, who have both posted but seem to be just parroting what has been said without adding anything. Not that that is inherently suspicious, rather that being clueless can often be a good place to hide. I would like to hear what you have to say, and perhaps throw a vote. I'll be back with a vote by the end of the cycle.
  13. Ninor watched the madmen solemnly exchanging nonsense, shaking his head. Truly Minas Tirith was beyond hope if amidst death and lynching, all men could do was to sprout random words at each other. Or were they random? What if they were conversing in a secret tongue, passwords known only to them? And from that thought... Why would good, trustworthy men need to converse in secret languages? As for the lynch itself, he had no idea as to why the two characters had been targeted. None had expressed suspicion of any sort - indeed, there had been no accusations yesterday - neither outright nor implied. If one of the accusations had been sent by an agent of Mordor, it could at least be assured that the two accusations did not come from the same faction, as two politicians in the same doc could hardly have chosen two different targets on the same night. Beyond that, he had nothing.
  14. The nights seemed to be getting ever colder, and the Darkness from the West ever closer. Hunched alone at the corner of a tavern, Ninor kept a hand on his dagger, even as he drank. Gondor… Gondor. He remembered the Minas Tirith of ages past. Mighty Minas Tirith, beautiful and strong. How the city had wilted. Just last night, a body of a nobleman had been discovered, his body bearing witness to a savage, savage beating. Oh Nienna, how Men need your guidance. “Hey, you!” Instinctively, Ninor hunched down further, drawing his hood deeper over his face. Forced himself to relax his grip on his dagger. A hand landed on his shoulder. Rough. Friendly. “Fancy lute you carry. You a bard?” Ninor smiled tightly under his hood. “Aye, good sir. Unfortunately, I have no song for darkness and winter. At least… None that you should bear.” “Look around you, friend,” the voice pleaded. “The people are afraid. Is not now the time for song? Play us a tune, bard. Something to lift their spirits. Sing us a song of hope.” Ninor finally laughed. “Hope? My fine friend. Hope? You wish me to sing a song of light and air, even as Sauron - yes! Sauron, the Lord of the Ring, grows ever in power? You wish me to sing a song of beauty and peace, when his legions amass for the final battle?” For the first time, he turned his face towards the voice, and watched the man draw back in shock. He stood, pushing his hood back to reveal his golden hair and pointed ears. The tavern fell silent. “Very well. I shall sing you a song.” “When winter first begins to bite and stones crack in the frosty night, when pools are black and trees are bare, 'tis evil in the west to fare. When darkness falls and shadows shriek And cold suspicions bid you speak When brothers condemn their very own All hope is lost... You’re all alone.” Silence. Ninor took a breath, drew his hood back over his head, and left the tavern. Oh Nienna... they needed to know the truth...Didn't they?
  15. Tomorrow I will face a test I really, really need a rest! I'm keeping ahead in this race, But unrelenting is the pace And now my thoughts do fly apart As this game I'm forced to start! There goes all my time for sleep the price is steep and I shall weep! But my heart cannot, will not be swayed My grades shall fade, but the trade is made!

  17. Hey guys, Doc here. I've arrived in the States! Woo! I will still be extremely busy for a couple of cycles, so I do agree to hand off my title of Medium to Eternum. It is a grave responsibility I pass on to you, my friend. Perhaps you will find out why I struggled with it. The zeta realm wasn't really that interesting. Just a doc where none of us talked much in. I didn't even get a PM that I was attacked, which was interesting. I have not been converted into an elim, although I won't blame you for not taking my word for that. I'll be back soon, I hope. I promise I'm not going inactive, just that I can't oromise the same level of activity as earlier in the game Thanks! I'll come back later tonight for an analysis and lynch vote.
  18. Honestly? Koru was feeling more than a little useless. What he needed to do was to continue his inquiries, understand the strength of both the Forest and the Court, and plan what needed to be done. This meeting... He did not particularly care who, if anyone, got lynched at all, and so had felt no inclination to join into the lynch discussion. In the Forest, at least, he could have observed the cat and mouse game between the Giilite and the Gunnerkrigg, and draw conclusions from that. In this meeting? They were staring at each other, hesitant to reveal too much to the other, and the accusations came slow. Small interactions peppered the day, but he wondered if truly anything was being done at all. Out of the corner of his eye he watched Medium Small Large, and truly hoped that he would prove more communicable this night. On top of all this, that idiot Centaur had just burst in, caused a big drunken mess, and actually asked to be medium. Overwhelmed and disgusted, Koru turned and left the hall. He needed to be alone. Uh, hey, so this is an announcement from me. Tomorrow night, I will be flying from my home country to the US to study there, so I will be unavailable for an entire day. I believe that would be during the night cycle, unfortunately. I should still be able to post in the early hours of the night, but I'll be gone for at least 24 hours after that, and maybe even more time as I find my way around the States and get to college for Orientation. So, please don't be surprised if my activity takes a sudden dive. I promise I'll be keeping up with the game and trying to be the best medium you've ever seen. Woods people, if you think that I can not serve this role as Medium in my low activity, you are welcome to pass it on to someone else, but I hope that you will reconsider me when I return. Thanks!
  19. *Sigh* I'm going to break character a little for this. My apologies Stink for trying to sound professional. 'Mysterious Doc' is perhaps a mixture of the formal tone that I've elected to use as Koru's main speech and the vagueness of my posts. Stink, what do you want? Are you still aiming for the win condition of Medium? Because I am, and I'm committed to that. Part of the reason I've been so vague is simply because I have been unable to discuss a plan with you, and thus I do not have anything set in stone. Mysterious Doc is because Doc does not know what Stink is doing, but thinking that we were partners in this. j Get some consistency? I'm sorry, what have I been doing? I do not think I have deviated from what I have been saying? I have however been finding out new things, and forming plans, thus being able to reveal more to people. Is that what you mean by being inconsistent? Would you want to have a discussion on what we as mediums should reveal and not? Because right now us being at cross purposes is of no use. Lastly, about Stick. I do trust her. She's the only one I can truly rely on to try to keep me alive in this game, and I trust her. We conflicted slightly in this cycle, and that's on me for not clearly communicating what I was aiming for with her last cycle. That's on me, and it's not because I do not trust her. So please, my friend. Should I apologize for taking my role seriously? I understand that you took the medium role to have some fun, and I don't fault you for that, but please try not to make sweeping generalizations of your 'partner' without asking them why. All you have done is revealed that we aren't working together as well as we'd like. Would you want to actually discuss things over with me in tonight's PM? Please? Thank you.
  20. Greetings. There seem to be a lot misconceptions and misunderstandings about Small Medium Large and I running around, so let my put a rest to this confusion I must admit that communications between Small Medium Large and I have not exactly been the best, which I see has caused some confusion. Firstly, I did not know that Small Medium Large was going to call this meeting. I was uninformed of this, and am as taken by surprise as you are. Moments before the night ended, I was in discussion with Orlok on whether I should call a meeting, and had agreed to call one as soon as I could. Orlok requested that I call a meeting to help facilitate the free flow of information, and I was not opposed to this at all. Thus, I was surprised when a Meeting was called, as I had no warning from Small Medium Large on this. Similarly, yes, I did ask Medium Small large to not divulge any information about our win conditions until we have gathered more information. We still do not have the required information, but I believe we have settled on some agreement. Please do feel free to ask questions, and we shall answer to the best of our ability. Now, about our win conditions as Mediums. Stick, I am surprised at your statement, for it is patently wrong. I suppose what you mean to say is that our win condition is not to know every role and alignment. This is true. However, our win condition requires knowledge of this. No, Stick. I maintain that knowing the roles and alignments of every player is vital for our win condition, and I for one will endeavour to continue this mission. This is why I have requested alignments from all who I have been speaking with. There exists at least one neutral role not of Zeta's making, and we are also endeavouring to find them. On the question of whether our win conditions conflict. I maintain that Medium Small Large and I are not directly opposed to the win conditions of either thread. I am not opposed to you Gunnerkriggs wiping out the Giilite from the Court, nor will I be opposed to the Giilite destroying the Gunnerkriggs in the Forest. Vice versa, an eliminator win in either thread does not worry us. Lastly, this statement is directed towards the Giilites, who have been thinking of using the Medium role to semi-clear eliminators. I do not believe it is a wise idea. The eliminators would still be finding out information on roles and alignments, but using them explicitly for their own factions. This, at least, I promise I will not do. I have no more interest in promoting the Giilite win over the Gunnerkriggs over another scenario. I hope that clarifies any questions you might have. Please, of course, feel free to ask any more questions, and I will answer to the best of my ability. Medium Small Large, my partner. I hope we do communicate better for the rest of the time we are partners. Thank you. Your Forest Medium, Koru
  21. Greetings to all who reside in Gunnerkrigg Court. I hope we are well met. Despite the ugliness that has happened in the forest, and will soon spread into your court, i hope that with the aid of my counterpart Medium Small Large, we will be able to bring about the best possible outcome. You must be wondering, what exactly are we now? We are Mediums. No longer Gunnerkrigg, or Giilite. I am afraid that I cannot state it right now, unless Medium Small Large has been less tight with his secrets, but we do not win with Gunnerkrigg or Giilite. That is all that I shall say, until I discuss this matter more with my partner. Now, to assuage you, before I stated my win condition, Medium Small Large told me his own, and it matched mine. With both of us sharing the exact same goal, I think it might reassure you that neither of us are your eliminators, unless you count the theory that both of us were eliminators. But no matter. As I have said, we have attained a new win condition, and we shall work to bring peace. We will ultimately be working for what is best for both sides. Please, feel free to PM me, as I would be most delighted to hear your stories, as well as your plans and capabilities. This is part of the reason I chose to take the Medium's path, to be able to listen to the stories of Court as well as the Forest. To learn and converse with people of both sides. Please, i would be delighted to know all of you better. Fare well, and have a good night. The Forest Medium, Koru
  22. Greetings one and all, and a good evening. Thank you all for your support, and I pledge to serve the Giilite woods as best as I can with my new role. Firstly, I wish to apologize to the Inspector, for it seems that my accusation of him was mistaken. I was watching the accusations further in the day, but did not feel the need to retract my accusation, as I did feel that he has been suspicious. However, my suspicions were wrong, and for that, my friend, I must apologize. Now. Most of you are undoubtedly wondering what my new win condition is. I am afraid that I cannot state it right now, but I am no longer Giilite, but I am not Gunnerkrigg either. I now do not win with either side. I can confirm that my counterpart from the Court, Medium Large Small, has the same goal, one that he stated first before I did mine. Make of this what you will. Until I work out a plan with my counterpart Medium Small Large, I will not say more of this goal. Please know, however, that we will ultimately be working for what is best for both sides. As to what is happening tonight, messages are now free. Please do message me, and I promise to answer every question as frankly as I am able. Now. Let us discuss a plan of action. Shortly before night fell, as the Inspector was slated to die, he chose to move his vote from me to Marv (headshot). This is most curious. Until then, his vote has been on me, and while he was incorrect in his accusation, I cannot say his vote was unjustified. I did accuse him first, and for him to accuse me back was natural. However, his switch to Marv occurred without explanation near the very end of the day. Why did he do this? Had he found a more compelling target somehow? My Lord Coyote, I notice that on death, the Inspector was remembered as a loyal woodsman. I would like to know, however, if on death your true self becomes visible, that we may know the true role of a spirit? Was the Inspector roleless, or are roles simply not revealed by death? I ask this because I wonder if the Inspector had had a role, specifically that of the air elemental, that allowed him to find out something. Marv, ( @Hemalurgic_Headshot), Would you be kind enough to enlighten me if you had a PM with The Inspector? Failing that, I would ask that the Air Elemental to please contact me so I might know discount or validate this theory. Because of this incident, I am watching Marv with an air of curiosity. When Straw proposed to lynch Joe, Marv was one of the people that followed. Marv in the day voted for Straw, and Straw voted back. In the evening they both agreed to retract these votes. Is there any significance in that? I do not know. If there are Shadowpeople present, it might be interesting to see what they do this night. Looking at the votes, I see no evidence of vote manipulation, unless you count Araris' medium vote, which was on Flash but is nowhere to be seen. @A Joe in the Bush is this intentional? If it is, there might be Anwyn or Wisps at work, or even Reynard. Now, of all of us assembled here, Sean, Rendren, Fess and Centaurus have been nowhere to be seen. Centaurus and Fess, however, have been known to be reasonably active in hunts, so I hope they shall join us soon. If by the third day they do not arrive, we might have to consider them inactive. The Lady of Chaos has also stated that she will be inactive. This saddens me, as it seems one third of us are not able to join this hunt. For now, we shall not consider them, but in later days might have to consider vigilante killing them. To work, to work, my friends. All of you with roles to play, play them on your suspicions. I believe our most important asset right now is the Shadowpeople. Follow people, and report back on what you have seen.
  23. groan *surges forward and lifts Bart by his neck You're right, my good friend. There is no 'culture' in the wood save for what a spirit takes upon himself. I have never claimed to be nice, or cultured, my good friend. What I am, however, is a creature of the woods that honors the rules and the ancient traditions. And you have just challenged me to a duel. *drops Bart, dusts off your front as an apology for roughing you up We are of the Giilite woods, friend. Think of that before you speak so rashly again. Now, to business. Ysengrin, pleasure to see you again...if it is indeed you, of course. While outing yourself for no reason and basically telling the court members "I can kill you" is very Ysengrin, you have not always been a fool. And revealing yourself like this is undoubtedly a foolish move, as you have painted a target for the Humans on your back. Instead of being able to plan your kills strategically, you are now forced to defend yourself instead of others for fear of the humans deciding to destroy you before you destroy them. If you however are not Ysengrin, you have much to gain by diverting our attention to you so early in the day, perhaps drawing debate and discussion away from someone else. I will move to this point soon. But if you are not Ysengrin, then watch out, for you have exposed yourself. I call upon the real Ysengrin to settle this matter. If Noah is lying, and he is not the real Ysengrin, may Ysengrin strike him down tonight, for he is a liar. This should easily prove whether he is telling the truth. if you are Ysengrin, we still have no way of proving your alignment, but know we will be watching you very, very carefully, my friend. I am not responding directly to anything you have said, friend Canuck, but you have intrigued me enough to take a look at our friend the Inspector's posts. And I am disquieted. Friend Inspector. You do not add up. Nothing you have said separately is wrong, but the compiled weight of what you have been saying does not add up. Let's reflect upon your reasons for appointing me. 1. You thought I was the right person for the job, despite me not having posted or declared my intentions to campaign 4. You wanted an active medium, again before I have had the chance to show my activity And now, your justifications, 1. You first offered to decline the role of protector to deny the accusation that it was a court gambit to elect a court medium, which proved nothing 2. You say voting early for me was easily drawing a connection between us, because if we had both been court you would have waited to allay suspicion 3. You chose early so that the court would have no chance to influence you 4. There was a higher chance of hitting a villager this early in the game. Inspector (Paranoid King), I am sorry, but what I see here is not just an impulsive vote, which normally I would not condemn, but an impulsive vote with very weak constructed justifications. I do not know why you chose me, but if you were a court member, it becomes clear that you might have wanted to be the first to elect a medium from the forest in order to have the favor of a influential forest spirit. Answer for the accusations I lay at your feet, or prepare to bleed, woodsman. @Paranoid King EDIT: I forgot to answer the question of my activity rates. Well, friends, I am from the country of Malaysia, which is in a far different time zone. So I will be active while most of you are asleep, and asleep while most of you are active, but I promise you that I will be as active as I can for this game, thank you.
  24. I apologize, my Lord Coyote, it appears I have made a simple error. In light of this new revelation, I shall have to rethink my arguments and restate them. Thank you for your correction, my Lord. This has shaken me. So much so, that I must do it...I must. break character... Right, so Doc's an idiot who did not read the rules well enough. Bah. Anyways, what does this mean for balance? This is so confusing >> So,if the Gunnerkrigg villagers are taking a beating in the other thread, technically we do not have any motivation to go over, as we would then have a 60% chance of becoming Gunnerkrigg villagers, when in fact we would be able to win by staying Giilite. That make sense? Vice versa, if a Gunnerkrigg villager comes over, there is a 60% chance that they would become a Giilite villager. Is it worth it to try lynching them to see if they've become instead a Gunnerkrigg eliminator? I think that we should treat anyone who comes over with a healthy amount of suspicion until they're cleared, perhaps by one of our scanning roles. Hm, regarding the escape route plan, technically, it still remains an option to those who cannot escape a lynch. Let's see, if you die are a Giilite villager who's in danger of a mislynch, and you choose to die, you will be resurrected as a Gunnerkrigg villager. Not too bad a deal, to be honest, unless you had a unique role. If yo're a Gunnerkrigg eliminator who chooses to die, there's a chance you would be resurrected as a Giilite eliminator in the other thread, but who would trust you then? Those are my thoughts for now, I guess. Don't go over to the other thread unless you feel as if you've no other choice, and treat anyone who comes over with suspicion. Any thoughts on this?
  25. I have heard murmurings from the Court on the dual nature of our hunt, and I for one do feel the need to discuss this. This, my friends, is precisely why I seek to take on the role of Medium, that I can discuss these proceedings directly, as well as be aware of what is happening on both sides. Now, our people are positioned in the Court, risking their lives to expose its lies. We know that if they are stamped out, the Court would have won, no matter how well we were doing in the Forest. We of course, must not allow this to happen! My friends, if it appears that our allies in the Court are faring badly, is it not our responsibility to the Coyote that we take the Test, and support our brothers on the other side? Is it not to our benefit and to a satisfying hunt that we stop the Court from putting an early end to our little game? Now, of course, there are some problems. Namely that if one of us takes the test and dies a loyal spirit, we would be resurrected on the other side with a 60% chance of remaining a loyal forest spirit. I do not think the Court would take the 40% chance that we have converted to our side. It would be extremely difficult to gain trust, and if sides must be switched, I recommend doing so only when the Court is not chafing and searching for a target. What shall we do, brothers? This question is linked to the next, and perhaps by answering that question we shall know what to do. This next question pertains to those members of the Court who seek to take the Test as well. Brothers, are we to take the chance that they have fully come to our side, or are we to trust in the 60% rule that they are likely to remain what they are after death? Do we immediately seek to lynch them? For this, I move a resounding yes if they died a loyal Court member. We have a 40% chance of losing a new recruit and a 60% chance of denying the Court another member into our forest! Of course, this also brings in an unusual application of the Test, that is, to escape! Brothers in the Court, I lay before you this proposition. If you are of us, and you are on track to be lynched and destroyed, take the Test, and return to us, where you will be safe. It is an escape route, but only use it if you are certain there is no escape fro the lynch, for you would deny your team in the court a member. The Lord Coyote having answered my question, I shall put in my vote Koru To the Inspector, my friend! How noble of you to choose to deny any offer of being a Protector. However, I must point out this proves nothing if we were indeed on the same Court team, for there are bound to be more of us, and you choosing not to accept the Guardian role does not stop me from choosing any other member of our hypothetical team. In short, your offer does not prove anything.
