    BrandonSanderson.com appears to be malfunctioning right now. I'd really like to read the State of the Sanderson 2020, since I didn't get it in my email either.

    Check out their only other post. That's clearly spam. This is a camouflage post. And who uses a 16 year old phone anyway? And just cause I find this interesting... no bluetooth, but it does have infrared! It would be fun trying to get that to work today.

    Just finished the first book in The Risen Kingdoms trilogy. Highly recommended. We get a peek at just a few, quite original magic systems (using your shadow to kill). Lots of world building. Anyone else here read it? What did you think?

    I think the real reason Kaladin didn't say the Words is that Brandon didn't want us to see what that would look like in Shadesmar.

    I imagine "attaching" a fabrial with a captured flame spren (in a ruby?), which allows me to shoot fire! Or an electricity spren, when that's eventually discovered, so I can shoot lightning.

    Fox has the movie rights to the Reckoners series. And Fox has just been bought by Disney, who basically owns nearly all the Super Heroes in film. I wouldn't be surprised if they nix this deal due to the cognitive clash.

    If this is what you're talking about, the color is important because it affects soulcasting the 10 essences. I see SL loss as a function of half life. A good cut increases half life, size does not. I don't know how color affects it, independent of size and quality.

And from what I interpret in those WoB, SL cannot be transferred from gem to gem by direct illumination. But that is a bit of a stretch, I admit. Could we make that a question for him?

    Do we know if gems lose stormlight (SL) at different rates? I assume larger gems can store more SL at first, but then do they then lose the SL faster so different gem types all go dark at the same time? If gems are stored together and shielded from the outside, do they keep their SL for longer? I am thinking of the diamond gems used in the surgery for light.
