Yeah, I think you're right. I think it's most likely someone we haven't seen yet (wether it was orchestrated by Ialai or the Ghostbloods is definitely a possibility).

Aaaaaah I see now, yeah. Well the reasoning makes sense, but do we think that Renarin is capable of murdering even in circumstances such as these? He doesn't strike me as a warrior (nor a killer, but if we're entertaining the notion...) and it seems like such a hasty act that I'm not sure fits his character.

I don't think Renarin is a credible suspect; if he wanted to take the blame to cover for Adolin there isn't really a need for him to do any killing. e: Sorry for the double post, I did a dumb and completely missed the very clearly labelled multiquote feature

I actually don't think the suspect pool can be very large at all. It is either 1) someone extremely lucky who stumbled upon the body before bridge four/ Sadeas' men (which I believe is unlikely) or 2) Someone from bridge four or those important enough to have been brought to the scene of the crime.

I'd also like to point out that the culprit must be someone who either 1) Discovered Sadeas' body before everyone else did, or 2) Was present upon discover/ with Dalinar's entourage, as only someone who saw the body originally would be able to imitate it. This is gonna be really interesting.

If I was on Scadrial, I'd go full Mistborn: Allomancy seems to me like it's more go-getting, not to mention how much I fell in love with the idea of shooting around Luthadel in the mists, getting involved with the intrigue and politics of the Great Houses. In life as we know it however, as many others have said: Feruchemy; it's far more applicable to the kind of problems/ situations we are likely to face.

What happens when compounding Allomancy and Feruchemy? Does the Allomancy also consume the metal as well as the attribute stored in the metal mind? I can't find an easily available description of how it happens.

I think Sanderson was pretty much beat-you-over-the-head obvious about the love triangle. It's kind of gone past the stage where he could ignore it in the subsequent books, there've been multiple paragraphs from the perspectives of both Shallan and Kaladin about the other. At least that's the strong impression left in my mind after finishing WoR last weekend. Despite being as tropey/ cliche as they are common in prety much all media, I think this particular example feels a lot more natural to the context in the Stormlight Archives than in other books. So, as long as Sanderson paces it correctly and continues developing the characters as quickly as he has been doing it doesn't have to be one of those face-to-the-desk subplots that the general case often ends with.

So far we've see a fair amount of the surges and what can be done with them, however I'm curious about 2 in particular: Cohesion and Division. Has there been any insight into what these can do? We've seen one Skybreaker so far, but I think he was only using the Gravitation surge when he was chasing Lift.

I thought Wit's song about Fleet was some exceptionally captivating writing. The throwback to it towards the end was very, very satisfying.

Thanks! Is Secret History only in eBook before I go ahead and buy it? I'd prefer a paperback/ hardback but can't locate one. Is there actually a section for doing the science behind feruchemy/ allomancy? Sounds like a fun distraction to me. As for the cookie, I remember hearing that I'm not meant to accept... Counter-argument?

Hey guys, Started with Mistborn over the summer, got absolutely hooked by Sanderson's writing style and went looking for more after reading Alloy of Law. Began the Stormlight Archives and finished Words of Radiance on Saturday. I can't decide which I like more, but I can say that the Cosmere has to be one of the most compelling settings I've ever come across. Shadows of Self and Bands of Mourning are set to arrive on Wednesday! I didn't really intend to post but I'm currently sat in the most boring Thermal Physics lecture I've ever had to endure.
