Yeah, I read The Emperor's Soul just yesterday. I think I kind of understand. Now I have another question. Let's say you're immortal by default, like Hoid maybe. And you ingest Lerasium. Would you eventually lose Allomantic powers?

I'm sorry. I don't get it. Why should he tap more youth? Isn't he still Connected? In fact, I think the Connection increases over time, so I'd think he'd need to tap atium less. Because more Identity=easier for him to exist in all three realms, right? (In Secret History, they say Allomancers can stay longer in the Cognitive Realm because they are more Connected to the Shard, so...)

I really, REALLY wish he wrote one or more books as a prequel to Vin's trilogy... With Alendi or Rashek as the MC. It really bothers me that nobody has bothered to explain how and why the Terris had oracles and prophecies and also how (and why) Preservation and Ruin never knew about them. And why do only the Terris have Feruchemical powers?

I think the Balance is necessary for any Investiture in the cosmere. Take atium, for instance. When you burn atium, it doesn't just vanish. It returns to the Pits of Hathsin. The Balance also explains why Preservation was "weaker" than Ruin. Preservation used part of his consciousness to imprison Ruin, so that power was lost. Even in Warbreaker, Breath (if the person doesn't give it to anyone else) after a person's death returns to Endowment. -- Well, your first explanation makes sense, but how can you do the same for tin and pewter then? Unlike steel, brass, zinc and iron, they're internal metals. So, you'd have to absorb power directly from the Mistborn, which I think isn't possible, probably unless you use Hemalurgy.

If copper absorbs Investiture, where does the absorbed Investiture go? Definitely not the Smoker. Because, he can't use the Investiture, and it would go to waste. It's like energy is being wasted. This disturbs the Balance, I think. Also, if it absorbs Investiture, how can you still use Allomancy within a Coppercloud? Sure, you can't Soothe or Riot emotions, but you can still Steelpush and Ironpull, can't you?

Ashyn is in the Roshar system? Is it WoB or did I miss something? First of the Sun doesn't have a Shard on it? Well, there's other reasons I think it's Allomancy. Well, you know how Vin's Mistborn trilogy takes place several years before The Stormlight Archive takes place? We also know that Brandon plans on writing a Mistborn series far in the future, with space travel and everything. He also mentioned that this future series will be closely tied to the cosmere and Dragonsteel than any others. So, what if "The Ones Above" are Allomancers? And since it's in the future, what if Harmony has found a way to leave Scadrial but still provide Allomantic powers to people. It also explains why The Ones Above can track Aviar. What if they realized that Allomancy doesn't need metals, so they invented a device that can track Allomancy (based on Copperclouds) anywhere, in any form. Yeah, there's some Feruchemical metal that can store Investiture, right? So, maybe the bird Kokerlii acts like that. It stores Dusk's Breath.... -
NOTE: Please DON'T spoil Shadows of Self, Emperor's Soul, Bands of Mourning, Secret Histories, Hope of Elantris, Shadows for Silence in the Forests of Hell. Also, I deeply apologize in advance if this has been posted before. Also, there are spoilers from Mistborn 1, 2, 3, The Way of Kings and Words of Radiance. . . . . . . . . . So, I'm reading Sixth of The Dusk and a thought occurs to me: "Hey, aren't Sak and Kokerlii like.... metals?" We know that Allomancy doesn't need metals as the source of power, but rather as a catalyst. So, I'm thinking... Maybe, in this world (which btw, reminds me of TSA, mostly the Reshi Isles part where Rysn goes in WoR), instead of metals, these Aviars are the catalysts. I mean, Sak's power is like burning atium, but it only shows warnings and Kokerlii's is like burning copper. Except, Kokerlii shields minds instead of Allomancy. This is obviously related to the Cognitive Realm. What if Allomancy just works differently here? Like how Lift can convert food into Stormlight.

The mists can't do it to any Mistborn? Why not? What's so special about Vin except that she was born Mistborn? Before Vin Ascended, wasn't Preservation held by someone else? A black-haired man with a strong nose or something. The one who speaks to Elend and dies. So, I don't think the mists were EVER autonomous. They just had a weakened consciousness for imprisoning Ruin. -

I'm reading Alloy of Law and I just thought of something. We know that Preservation tried to help Vin several times, but couldn't because of her earring, right? But why didn't the mists reach out to Elend like they did to Vin at the end of THoA? I mean.... Vin was using Hemalurgy, so I get why the mists couldn't help her. But they could have helped Elend in THoA, right?

Do all kinds of Investitures follow the Balance? The Breath Investiture from Warbreaker is a little sketchy. If someone dies, their Breath dies with them. So, when someone is born, where does their Breath come from?

So, can Lurchers Pull objects hidden in buildings. For example, I'm standing on a street and there's a huge chunk of metal inside a building. Can I Pull on it? I finished the first three Mistborn books, but I forgot about this.
