  1. Shardpools actualy are created by the presence of a Shard, with or without Vessel.... The reason for the Pit and Well currenty situation is quite a Mystery...maybe just a new Shardpool related to Harmony are spawning somewhere on Scadrial.

ok sorry. That was an assumption based on me only being able to recall seeing Shardpools in cases where a Shards Vessel has died. Can I ask how we know all Shards manifest Shardpools with or without a Vessel?
  2. What if it has something to do with strange power the IRE seemed to be tapping from the shard world kelsier seen when he touched there fortress. Maybe the power of a shard who's holders name is Vax? Just speculating here but maybe Ati was sensing Vax's power kelsier absorbed from the sphere device.

  3. I also think part of it may be because the Well was underground. That is how I interpret Hoid's use of subastral, as analogous to subterranean. I suspect that at ground level there is less danger of falling through, or at least more chance to catch yourself.

IMHO the term subastral meaning literally terestrial or (below the stars) refers to each planets individual versions of the cognitive realm.
  4. Yeah, but Khriss and Nazh were on the lake outside of Luthadel. Wouldn't they have needed to cross the real-world ground to get out of Scadrial's Cognitive Realm?

they probably follow the canals to the ocean. Then simply walk off Scadrial.
  5. I'm not sure exactly but I think they analyze the patterns of previous high storms to determine future ones. It seemed to me there was very complex pattern that one could only see by reviewing high storm activity over a long period of time.

  6. Where/when does this tradition originate? Is there any correlation between it and males not being allowed to read or wright? They are both imposed handy caps one physical the other mental. It seems like some one at some point instituted these traditions as a means of control or subjugation.

  7. During the Alethi party in the beginning of both books Szeth notes how the Alethi elite are at first hesitant to hear the Parshendi music but soon after hearing it lose all sense of propriety and decorum and begin dancing and partying with abandon and Jasnah seems to be absorbed in the music when she decides to halt the assassination of Elhokar's wife and play it safe for a while. One has to wonder if the music was influencing the emotions of those in attendance and if the Parshendi musicians were there to render the Alethi more docile in order for Szeth to have more success in his assassination of the King
