  1. Ah I misread that. When it mentioned "the next cage over" I thought it was saying there were 2 occupied cages.
  2. I'm still of the opinion the visitor in the broadsheet was a Parshendi. Especially since what was described in the cage next to Allik sounded like one to me. Red and black skin with a too flat face and pits for eyes.
  3. Could the weakness he is referring to just be being open to Harmony's influence?
  4. I assumed it was the red light that Wax saw when talking with Harmony. Harmony seemed to imply it was what he was defending the people of Scadrial from. Based on the description as a red haze it could be some sort of nebula that is visible from multiple planets in the cosmere. It could also just be a manifestation of Trell, or some other Shard, or whatever is distracting Harmony.
  5. Would the gemstones be glowing with stormlight in Scadrial? Do we know that the investiture of stormlight would still exist that way on another world? It could be there were non-glowing gemstones in their beards. Also even if it does work, they have uncut gemstones, they don't glow very much or hold it for very long
  6. But it is mentioned that the skin has started to grow around Iyatil's mask. It doesn't seem like she changes it. I'm not saying its not one of her race, but I don't understand why everyone thinks its her. Nothing about her seems to fit with the description or the image. Also that picture seems to match a stylized Parshendi face pretty closely to me based on the descriptions of their faces. What about it doesn't look like a Parshendi to you Paradox?
  7. In another thread (http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/46015-shadows-of-self-tour-chicago-oak-brook-il/page-2#entry340620), this was mentioned. If it was not intended to be controversial, then it seems to me explanation given by the characters is correct.
  8. I thought it was said in the book that just before she used steelpushing she was switching spikes. I'm pretty sure she only had one at a time. It could have had the additional effect of letting her talk to spiked people. Especially since when wax gave her a second spike Harmony could take control. If she already had multiple spikes in that wouldn't have mattered.
  9. Apparently coating spikes in blood will keep them from degrading. I'm not sure where I read that, but it may have been a WoB.
  10. I think the beard makes it fairly obvious its a parshendi. WoR Spoilers
  11. The thick skull made me think of Parshendi in Storm Form. Could it be something that the spikes made of the new metal came from Odium and were Hemalurgically charged before they were brought over? I'm not saying its likely, but it seems like a fun theory.
  12. Since it mentioned them being somewhat animal like in appearance, maybe they were created using animals. Also I fell down the hole of an AMA with Brandon (http://www.theoryland.com/intvmain.php?i=979) and found this question that seems fairly relevant to which Shard the metal belongs to. Brandon response was the following. So that raises the question, has Odium now done these things to prepare Bleeder and the others that were spiked with this new metal? If so the metal could be his.

    Lady Truth

At one point in SoS Wax is listing off some Originators, and he mentions someone called Lady Truth. Who could this have been? The only major women I could think of that survived were Allriane and Beldre. Allriane doesn't really fit the moniker truth, but I can't remember anything about Beldre that would either.
