  1. They seem very golem like to me...Kolem? Kondra have the ablity to make muscles extra strong right, so could they not strengthen their bones as well, given more material to consume/digest? Could they be from another world? The broadsheet kept referring to other worldly beings and even described a pool which I am guessing is similar to that on other worlds in the Cosmere. Perhaps that would explain why TenSoon could not smell them, they are from or of another world. Do the dark eyes give us a clue that I have missed perhaps? They must have been given some instruction to not attack unless they left the room with the 'puzzle' that was intended to distract Wax. This did seem to contradict her entire argument of Freedom...
  2. Pick up on so many things each time you read! There is just so much happening. The WoB/interviews have been very helpful. I am looking forward to new books so that perhaps I might have some new input to share as well.
  3. I CANNOT WAIT FOR SoS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. What happened to all the Kandra that did not remove their spikes at the end of HoA? Is there any info on that? Perhaps this is their doing...the second generation was really not on board with the firsts. I would like to point out that Idashwy's body was found intact (other than the hole in her chest) in chapter 6, so Tan could not have been at the party as her, she had to have killed the people at the party, then her power was stolen...
  5. It just seems like it would follow the same plot, but the other side of the coin. So would we end up with Ruin winning? It is not a bad theory, but IMO it does not make for a great story (at a high level). I love Wax and Wayne and will read until the bitter end, but it would disappoint me if Kel is now Ruin's mini-me. I still have a lot of WoB to read before I can come to any sort of conclusion myself. I still think there is something new that we have not yet seen.
  6. From the way Wax and Wayne discuss Idashwy's body they are placing her time of death before the killings :“The killer used a spike to steal Idashwy’s Feruchemical talent, then employed that ability to kill Lord Winsting and his guests." However, From chapter 1 " Aren’t you frightened, Winsting?”... He didn’t recognize her. Slender, with short golden hair and a doe-eyed expression, she was uncommonly tall. As someone else stated that her body was not digested, therefore, she had to commit the killings (or at least some of them, perhaps she thought she was exacting revenge for her brother's death and unwittingly provided someone with information about her abilities) and that someone, broke into her home and Spiked her. Wax saw Bloody Tan just before they got the tip to Idashwy’s location, this is the secondtime he has seen him. I remember in HoA that people who are on the edge of sanity are easier for Ruin to gain control over. Even if there is another force that is tapping into the magic of Hemalurgy, it would stand to reason that the magic itself would follow most of the same rules that it did in the pre-Catacendric world. Which would have made Tan an easy target, so perhaps he had been spiked prior to AoL, and had an atium Spike (is that a thing? is that stuff still around?) which could explain how he knew where to move Lesie. If he has a Gold spike he could easily heal himself from the bullet to the head. Sorry, getting long and making a lot of assumptions, I will stop...for now.
  7. "waiting painstakingly for the third Stormlight book as well" Aren't we all? Welcome to the party
  8. " Emotional Allomancy can control Hemalurgic constructs." Assuming Hemalurgy was not changed when Sazes re-made everything, I agree it sounds plausible that Idashwy (love it!) could have been spiked and is being nudged by an emotional allomancer. The only reason I don't 100% think that is true is the visions. Emotional Allomancy does not create hallucinations, maybe it is a combination of a Khandra that has gone wrong, or been taken over by emotional Allomancy? But the Hemalurgy theory would make Marsh's words in his diary no longer true "Hemalurgy is good now, I figure. Saze is both sides now, right? Ruin isn’t around anymore." We don't really have enough info yet, maybe her brother is not really dead? This made me think back to (and perhaps this is in another thread) when Wax was chasing Marks he thought that he saw Bloody Tan, could there be new magic on Scadrial? Or is suffering from PTSD...
  9. He does mention to Kal that when he arrived the shadows disappeared. I am not sure that these are what they appear to be, meaning that they don't seem to be as well intentioned as Pattern. Or perhaps Elhokar is just too scared to get past their strangeness...I think he wants so badly to be better as he states inWoR. I hope he can manage it!
  10. I fanticised that he was Mraize....But that is apparently not true. As far as actual information to support Helleran being alive, I got nothing. And I agree that resurrections have reached the limit.
  11. Just read in one of the Mistborn novels, WoA I think, while Vin is in Rashek's room in Kredik Shaw, she sees a wooden flute among his posessions. I assume that this is the instrument that Wit gifts to Kaladin. Did I miss anything else in the room of worthy note?
  12. Didn't Vasher (and what's her name?) create nightblood? And he uses breath when he is unsheathed. Because he is created and contains some sort of investiture I think that means he cannot be a spren. It will be interesting to see how he works on Roshar where, presumably there is no way to obtain breath. I agree that he won't grant Surgebinding abilities, but how will Szeth survive using him?!
  13. Not related to the original question, but I am pretty sure that Vin's sister was a misting seeker and her 'messy' death was the result of the mother's creating a hemalurgic spike (aka Vin's earing)...
  14. Is it possible that the type of metal that is used in the spike has something to do with this? My initial reaction is, oh that does sound like a conflict. However, I am re-reading/listening to Mist Born and am on HoA and just finished the part where Marsh remembers when he was made an inquisitor. They threw a screaming woman on top of him and slammed the spike threw her heart and into his eye and then others after her. In HoA there is much talk about the type of spike used, the timing of the spiking (if a spike sits for days it loses power), the placement of each spike, etc. So I think it highly unlikely this is a conflict. Could it be that Marsh's spikes are a little different than a normal inquisitor's? I recall somewhere that it said Marsh is 'special, but don't recall specifically why. I have not made it back to this particular scene yet, and might go back to see if I can pick up more specific details. Great question!
  15. I figured that I might actually be able to physically read The Emperor's Soul! Will soon be in possession of a copy and can't wait to get started. Thanks for the other suggestions!
  16. I would have to agree with you!
  17. Is it possible to pick a favorite!? If I had to pick (shard to my neck) it would probably be WoR. I love the stormlight characters so much, but mistborn is a close second. There is so much happening on Roshar during WoR. I have read (technically listened to b/c I find I don't have enough time to read these days - so please pardon any misspelled names, etc) Elantris, Mistborn (all 4) Way of Kings Word of Radiance Warbreaker The Wheel of Time books as well (that is how I discovered Sanderson) Suggestions on what to read next? I have listened to all of the above at least twice, in some cases 3 or 4 times. I need some new material, I think!
  18. I don't know how much he knows. When we first met him, he seemed resigned to his life on bridge four. So maybe that is an indication that he didn't feel there was much hope for Roshar... He did seem very disturbed by Rock's story of their meeting. I agree that we can get an idea of Hoid by listening to what Hoid taught Sigzil. Originally I thought perhaps Sig did some world hopping with Hoid b/c of the mysterious nature of their relationship and him refusing to talk with Kal about Hoid. But I don't see any solid evidence for that theory. If Sig knew more about things, would he not have made some sort of effort to notify Hoid he was alive? And how the heck did he become a bridgeman in the first place?
  19. Curiosity, yes I am 'reading' via audible. However, I don't recall adding putting an O, in Mraize, I think my phone must have taken over. Thanks for correcting me!
  20. It will probably come up in a future book, but I would like to know what happened with the parshendi that escaped changing into storm form (or being murdered). I agree about Renard being a little shallow, but he did serve a purpose in revealing the character of his father and brother as well as Sadias (calling him unless). Also he came up with the idea to try to prove the visions were true. I didn't like that the shoemaker was killed (or so it would seem) but I suppose that was to introduce us to how cold blooded 'Darkness' is.
  21. I do think that it could be referring to Hoid. What I find interesting is Adro's pondering it to be Moraize. I thought the diagram and Ghost bloods were 2 seperate factions. Before this mention of the wonderer, Moraize refers to someone as a harmless old man or fool, I thought he was referring to King T. So, how does the diagram faction know of Moraize? Could he a plant/informant? Maybe I am reading too much into it...
  22. I am absolutely in love with Brandon's writing style and his characters. Every character has such depth. My favorites are too many to list. I love the point of views and the idea of the cosmere novels. I can't wait to read more. I have read or listened to everything I can and want more! I am thankful that Sanderson is able to produce such wonderful works so quickly! So looking forward to reading more. I love trying to figure out the mysteries.
