Hey folks!!! Another music announcement because it's sort of why I've been less active recently:
I've been recording an album! It's seven tracks, mostly original stuff. It's for sale on bandcamp (link below!) and I really hope you'll check it out, and, if you're driven to do so, support me monetarily.
Thanks!!!

Ah, well, see, therein lies the issue: I'm 15 and broke, with no way of getting nice equipment. I like that you called my style acoustic, another word could be casual. I recorded the whole thing in my basement on Audacity, using a USB microphone.

Also, congrats! I hope it goes well for you, it's a really fun instrument!

Thanks so much!!!
Confession time, I don't actually own a bass. The bass you hear on the third track is just my Les Paul with the bass cranked up. Had I a bass (had I the funds, *cough cough*), you'd hear it a lot more. I'm always making music, though, so maybe I'll get my hands on one, one of these days. (I actually just today got a new old keyboard and I'll probably be writing new stuff soon...)

So according to the plaque at the library and a genealogy website, the first settler in our county was a man who built a cabin here to live in with his wife, eight children, and seven slaves.
This is disturbing to me. Aside from the obvious general badness of owning slaves, what the heck kind of simple cabin life do you live that requires seven slaves?
Also, during the Civil War his wife and eldest daughter together sewed the first Confederate flag to fly in the county. I should be surprised by that. But I'm not.

Hey pals! I just thought I'd log on to plug some excellent music.
One of my favorite bands, Penny & Sparrow, has a new album coming out this Friday, entitled Wendigo. I happened to get it on vinyl in the mail a week early, and folks... it's really good music. It deals with fear in a really profound way, stripping it back to reveal the hope, and deeper meanings within. There's a trilogy of songs that put death in the spotlight, telling the story of life from death's perspective ("Part One: Visiting", "Part Two: Smitten", and "Part Three: Moniker"). There's a song (as on all their albums) named after a character from Les Miserables ("Javert"). All the tracks are powerful and beautiful, and I highly recommend it. -

The ACT wasn't as bad as expected. I did not, in fact, die. Victory has been won.
