  1. First, any target other than Wilson is best to protect, mostly because of the IKYK factor. Secondly, maybe the lurcher hoped that the lynch wouldn't just be 48 hours of 'die Dalinar' >.>
  2. But you can't, because there are also villagers that think that Dalinar is good. >.>
  3. All those votes on D1? I've already stated that the value of a D1 Lynch is mostly that it's the first lynch, and is the only lynch for a while. As soon as we start the D2 Lynch, the D1 Lynch is basically meaningless to me. And when I read D1, I honestly did not understand why people were voting for Dalinar. And as for finding insight into who says what, there's you and Madagascar. Everyone else seems to be saying 'he didn't die, let's lynch him anyway.' So for this lovely insight, D2 discussion was nearly killed, and if not killed, focused back onto the issue of Dalinar. And there's always going to be clues about who the eliminators are in any lynch, so I could use that for like any lynch, so it doesn't just apply to the lynch on Dalinar. All of your posts this cycle have said that Dalinar should die, or that Dalinar is evil, etc etc. If you were to die right now, we'd only know that you wanted Dalinar dead. No other suspicions? Joe did the same thing, and I think he did it before you. But he can't say that he hasn't played in a while.
  4. RP's taking too long, so rip the cr. What do we learn if Dalinar is lynched? That everyone bandwagon'd on him, and that someone tried to kill him? So if he's good, then any elims that voted for Dalinar won't be found, because everyone has bandwagon'd. And if Dalinar is evil, then we learn that what? He didn't want to die? That's almost nothing. This Lynch is basically a waste of time. The Only Joe. Now, I've already explained some of my reasoning on voting for Joe, so I don't feel the need to explain this vote again. Now we just wait and see if anyone is going to even bother with this vote when you got 'DALINAR DALINAR DALINAR' in your head.
  5. Oh, could you also try not to contend for best person with insane cosmetic role, Meta?
  6. Alright, Madagascar wanted to know what a WGG is, and while the SE Lexicon made by the mods does say it (quoted underneath), I thought I’d expand on it ‘cause they asked so nicely ‘Acronym for Wounded Gazelle Gambit, sometimes referred to as the Princess Gambit. This is when the eliminators attack one of their own, but the attacked eliminator is somehow saved from death (usually due to protection), in an effort to get them trusted by the village.’ So, as explained there, the most important bit of a WGG is that it is an elim attacking another elim, with the knowledge that the attacked elim will live. This is usually used to try and gain trust, as villagers would be inclined to think that anyone attacked by an elim must not be an elim, but everyone on the Shard is very paranoid about WGG’s so it is always raised as a possibility when anyone doesn’t do to the elims. Now, another key thing to note about WGG’s is that they might also be used simply to create confusion in the village. For example, (well, this game might be a good example depending on the results) the elims might decide to do a WGG on N1 knowing that it’s unlikely that the target will lose or gain trust, but instead focuses most of a day’s discussion on whether it’s a WGG or not. While this might not look as beneficial on first look, it is important to remember that the elims thrive on a disorganized village, and this only contributes to that. ----------------------------------------------------- ^ Not that complex of an explanation, but that’s only ‘cause the WGG itself is quite simple I would expand these notes and focus on elims controlling the narrative and how the village should respond, but that would take a while. Anyway, to continue this rare OOG post, I'm going to comment more on the state of the lynch, and I'll put the TL;DR at the top. TL;DR: D1 Lynches are rarely substantial, and I'd advise people to not take it too seriously. What's more important is that we focus on learning something new on D2, and move on as a village. So a D1 Lynch in my experience is usually either 'This person hasn't posted yet, so let's just kill them' or 'This person did something slightly suspicious, but because it's D1 and we don't have much to do, we might as well kill them.'. I mean, I usually try to stay out of the D1 lynch completely, seeing as nothing good ever comes out of it. You're most likely to get a Villager and instantly get punished, which makes no sense if you think about it. I mean, I'm gonna presume that most people on D1 have only the slightest of reads on alignments (elims not counted) so already, any lynch cannot really be analysed. But then to turn around after that lynch and all say 'Oh it was these guy's faults we know who they are know' makes almost no sense too. All of a sudden, a lynch based on what is always essentially stupid reasoning gives you great insight into their alignments? It doesn't, and neither does it give you great reason to react to their deaths with 'Now we've learnt even more!'. Coinshots, I'd simply advise you to not kill anyone this cycle. Activity is alright at this time, and if you kill a villager, then that isn't good (but that goes without saying, even though I just said it.) And Joe, who's asked the Coinshots to either kill HH or Dalinar, and then goes on to say who the Lurcher should protect, is personally the most suspicious person to me right now. Just that post alone has sent a fair few warnings. It's not a good attitude to respond to a lynch with 'now let's kill those involved in the lynch'. Otherwise, you're just letting the elims control the narrative about the lynch, while they go on to kill those not involved. In fact, simply suggesting that we kill those involved while you yourself had no vote whatsoever is just a bad attitude, imo. While it's easy to think of this game as 'Me (and a few others I might trust) against everyone else', it's really 'Village against Elims', so anything that the Village does reflects on everyone. That D1 Lynch? Anyone complaining about it that didn't vote could easily have changed it during D1. The lynch against Ecth reflects on everyone, and I do feel like I should have tried to change that. So, I'm gonna start to be more pro-active again, even though it hasn't seemed to do much during previous games. Was I fine to just chill and talk to people who PM'd me? The answer to that was yes, but now I'm gonna make sure that this discussion on D2 does not devolve into a situation where everyone comes out suspicious, which right now is what it mostly is. See ya all during D2, where I'm obviously gonna vote for Joe.
  7. There was so much potential in this place, William thought on his first time in Tyrian Falls. All these negative emotions, almost floating in front of his eyes. All he had to do was reach out and smother the lovely ones. That sliver of joy you get when you see a friend? Gone. Overpowered by the jealousy of how they managed to get away with whatever you couldn't. Lovers might instead feel no love, and with nothing to replace the spark, slowly untwine apart until their relationship is 'just friends’. And would it be the work of William? Hopefully, it would be. All the bright, lively emotions were disgusting. You think the world at heart is a happy place? Animals live to make more animals then die to someone stronger. We might think that we've rised above it, but that’s an illusion that I must cast down. But William had never seen something like this. A man dying in the middle of town, causing friends to accuse friends of murder? And this quickly? Truly, someone must have meddled with this town before William. However, there did seem to be someone that wasn’t joining in the chaos. In fact, she seemed to almost be ignoring it! The dim-witted fool must not be aware of what that could mean in this town, what with all these murderers. Well then, it would be William’s duty to turn that smile upside-down. And actually make her sober, while he was at it. ---------------------------------------------------------------- @Madagascar, William has officially challenged you to a Conversation! I propose that this Conversation takes place in a PM, with an RP Post from the both of us at the end of the Conversation. If you do not accept the challenge, then William will win by default. A great start. Anyway, in terms of lynch targets, I don't think Dalinar should die. He's a cool guy right now, I mean that long post? Some good stuff right there. Keep it up! And I've looked over the other lynch targets, and well, I don't like any of 'em. STINK.
  8. Oh, thank you for the clarification then! Maybe everyone's forgot about me then? Which is completely fine, cause there must be an even more important thing to focus on! And now that I've said that, does anyone know if you can Sooth distractions? I'd like to be able to focus on writing my RP as Noah, but some people just keep thinking that saying stuff that my character shouldn't know is bad or something! I'm sure that it won't happen again though, and everyone can have fun again! Speaking of, can I get out of these shackles please? While I do appreciate the drawing of me, and the effort you put in, I just have to give people hugs and can't in this thing.
  9. Am I the only one reading what Rae said as 'A is more useful than B, so don't protect B.'? It makes the most logical sense after all, and we can't all be looking for reasons to kill someone on D1. Don't know about you guys, but George prefers having friends over enemies. Also, why hath George been getting no PMs from all you lovely people? I'm only a Seeker, can't open any PMs like one of those Tineye's.
  10. Well, first I'd address PMs. Dunno about others but to me, having it so that the village can only have one on one PMs but the elims can ahve group PMs is just a little awkward. However, it looks like this won't change much from the resistance so I'd just say to get rid of group PMs as a whole this game, and have everyone use single PMs. Minion as a name for elims is perfectly fine, in fact I'd say you shouldn't change it Item number 3 on the agenda is that you haven't actually said what the win con for the two teams are. In the Resistance, it's amount of missions passed so I'd assume you would go for that as well, but the mechanic of lynching and the elim kill doesn't slot in so well if no changes are made, so do you want the win con to be around killing elims or passing X missions? Item number 4, I'm assuming people on the mission can still PM, yes? Just double checking. And for general advice, if I was the one making the game (and I do have a resistance game if I ever feel like GMing one) then I'd leave how this currently is as the 0.5 of the game, and start designing a new one from the ground up, with clear intent of what the win cons are and various other stuff. So based off what you currently have, you could end up with STINK Version 1: Reckoner stays exactly the same, has win con of passing X missions (where X is determined by how many players sign up) Minion: Starts in a doc with other minions, and can either pass or fail a mission. Win con is to kill the Reckoners. Day Cycle: Lasts 48 hours, with the leader of the next mission announced 8 hours before rollover. There are lynches. Night cycle: Lasts 24 hours, with the people on missions not being able to post or PM. Each votes on whether it succeeds or not. If the mission fails, a random villager (doesn't have to be on the mission) dies. ----- And then from there, you can see that it is very similar to your game, but isn't quite the same. 'Course, this was made on mobile and I couldn't check what Wyrms game was exactly like, and it would need to be different from Wyrms. (Such as my one not having deaths in it) Anyway, no idea how this looks cause I hate posting on mobile but there should be at least something substantial here.
  11. Wait, we’re up against people with past lives? I need to get out of Tyrian falls, ASAP. I mean, what else does he know? He could be anyone! The Lord Ruler died recently, was he defenestrated? I need to find a way to check who has ever died to falling from a window, right after I get out of this horrifying place! Everyone’s just standing there talking about what they could be, instead of actually being someone, as if they know something I don’t! Can they change their characteristics so easily? You can’t just tell someone ‘You could be a mute’ and leave it at that, waiting for their approval or denial to what should be something you would know about yourself! I looked for the nearest metal to push off, but there wasn’t any good angles. Sometimes I just wish I was a Lurcher so I could pull myself away from people, and at least check if anyone was going to chase me while I was leaving. Instead I just have to push and hope that no-one stabs me in the back on the way out. Doesn't sound good does it? Wait, were there no angles because someone had made it that way? Was anyone about to get me with who-knows-what in this forsaken town? I’m still almost paralysed by the mere thought of what this guy knows, and more importantly, can actually do. Who goes around asking to be defenestrated? Is it a ploy, or the act of an actual madman? Actually now that I think of it, I could always try and knock myself out. That always works, well, ‘works’. I go from facing someone with a knife that would actually kill me to waking up in the morning, at a completely different city. That’s how life is for everyone else though, but I have always wondered why it’s happened. Ah well, if there’s not a good angle to push away from Tyrian Falls (almost as if we’re trapped), then I might as well find a good angle into a wall. The sooner I get away from this guy the better. I’ve only got myself to trust.
  12. Sorry to interrupt the killing on, but this is just to inform everyone that I have finished the rest of the write-up after what was apparently a 24 hour long dinner (please read it and like it and all that cool stuff)
  13. (Due to how the last post wasn't even an hour ago yet (at time of writing), we're gonna keep Charlie for this one) ---------------------------------------------- Do you have any idea how boring Tyrian Falls is? I wish I could describe it to you, but I’d need to be good at writing for that, and if you haven’t realised yet that I’m a one-trick-pony, then you’re probably a bit like me. But at least someone wanted to make the day interesting, right? “Charlie?” I thought of responding, maybe they actually wanted to talk to me! That’s a rarity. Why talk to Lurchers when there’s Coinshots? Add in the fact that Charlie’s got to be a popular name, and well, they were most definitely not talking to me. “Hey! Person! Human being that is standing over there that I am quite sure can hear me! Unless you are deaf! Or ignoring me!” Hm? Maybe it was me after all? Should I risk embarrassing myself and talking to whoever they were? I mean, at least I could always get away if the situation got too embarrassing. And on the 0.1% chance that it goes well, then at least I get to say I know someone else? That is how normal people make friends, last time I checked. But what do I even say? What’s even fine to say when you’re talking to yourself? Eugh, this is too much. What’s life without risks? Well, safe and alive, but we’ll ignore that answer. So I simply decided to turn around and say, “Hi there fellow civilian of the Empire!” Eh, could’ve been worse.
  14. So first, some OOC (out of character) stuff. My character for this game is insane. Not in the murdering way or the hates everyone way though. Basics of their insanity is that they are a mistborn, but have many distinct ‘voices’ in their head, with each ‘voice’ having a metal associated to it. Due to this, they can only use Pewter when Oliver’s ‘voice’ is the strongest in their mind. Each voice also has a primary emotion, but I ain’t telling you them (bar one) Anyway, I roll for what voice is strongest for every post I make, so the one thing I can tell you is that the voice for this post has the primary emotion of trust. Shouldn’t need to do more OOC stuff, or have I not already said that I’m signing up? Oh yeah, actually this first post is an exception with having 2 personalities instead of 1, just to showcase it even better. Does kinda make the actual RP bit small though ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There was certainly an odd group of people making themselves known in Tyrian Falls for some reason. It most likely had to do with the mysterious deaths, right? Ah well, doesn’t really matter in the end. One maniac can surely be stopped by our new crew of friendship! And my senses were going crazy with all the metal being burnt! We must have at least one of every single Misting out here, ready to hunt down the villain with George the Seeker! I slowly made my way toward them, not being able to do any of the cool stuff like Lurchers or Coinshots could. Only walking or running. Can you imagine what’d it be like to nearly fly above everyone, and more importantly actually be able to fight? I can’t, what with Seeking just being ‘Oh they’re there’. Useful for finding where people are meeting, and then that’s about it. But then on my way to everyone, the worst thing happened! I failed to notice a little pothole on the path, and only went and banged my head! Not only did it hurt, but I started to hear other people’s voices, like some kind of crazy guy. I’m sure it doesn’t mean anything… … … Why did I have to walk to this Tyrian Falls place? Everyone seems to think that being a Lurcher means you can fly and be this cool guy, but that’s really the Coinshots. Lurchers are just the sad alternative. I’ve only ever really used my ‘lucky’ power to wake myself up by smashing my face with various objects. Shows how sad my life is when that’s a highlight, doesn’t it? It would be nice to be able to do something else though, maybe even save someone’s life! Then at least one person would appreciate me, and help me write an autobiography about how sad Charlie’s life is. Doesn’t really matter in the end though, who would even want to read an autobiography about a Lurcher? Being a Lurcher doesn’t even really mean anything... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If anyone wants to try talking to the insane mistborn and have one of 8 responses, then just have a try!
  15. Okay, so you find none of the people in the lynch super suspicious. Do you: (A) Suggest another person to lynch that you find suspicious. (B) Go 'Eh who cares' and let it go to chance. Don't know about you, but one certainly looks more evil than the other. Also it's not a 'try' at whatever you think I'm doing, more I just don't understand at all why anyone would go 'let's just leave it up to chance'.
  16. You don't mind letting the RNG decide, because then you can just handwave any innocent's death that you were involved in by saying 'roll of the dice'?
  17. Not an alignment causing playstyle change, if you were wondering. Look, the whole suspicions thing isn't actually that great, 'cause all of them for the most part are like 'When he's evil, we know that A and B are also evil!', which makes most suspicions fall apart when it turns out you lynched an inno. I mean, we've had people seem to focus on Arinian and stuff for what, most of the cycle? There's always other reasons to people's actions. And as for Rae having no chance to kill Alv, that's a lie. There's always a chance, especially if you're pointing out that an experienced player just blatantly bandwagoned and then everyone else is under suspicion for it except him. Well yeah, but it's not unfair to so many people. It's more of 'everyone is focusing on these two people for the whole cycle when they shouldn't be wonder what's going on there oh look rae just continued to do so for like no reason at all'. Desperate enough to risk having two eliminators die on C2? That's reaching for straws, and very thin ones at that. Maybe you're evil and you want us to think that you're not working with Rae, as Rae the experienced player told you about this great way to gain trust or at least hide connections between each other and this whole time has been instructing you on what to do and what not to do. Oh wait that looks weird doesn't it? Let's not continue with this whole experienced line of thought. The elims are gonna be randomised. Might as well make a trust list while I think of it: Trust: 1. Kynedath Neutral: 1. Everyone not mentioned. Distrust: 1. Rae
  18. Don't know if you've realised yet, but this whole lynch is 'off'. Too many people going gung-ho. Wanna know the logic behind this? Rae's voting for you primarily because of the reasons that Alv can also be voted for, but seeing as Alv is much more experienced than you, I don't see why Rae would focus specifically on you. Unless there's an ulterior motive or something. As for you not playing well, I'm seeing mistakes that others have made, so again, I don't see why you're being focused on. I can see how you expected the heat though, seeing as there were mistakes And I'm not erratic. Because the lynch C1 was a total mess, and now you seem to be blamed as the primary contributor to that mess. Just unfair, is all. If I was an elim, I would like to think that I'd do something so heroic for one of my teammates C2, but I actually wouldn't. Now I'm gonna get analysed for saying hi to people. You know your whole theory could also apply to you too, right? And if our votes line up with each other suspiciously, then it's still nothing compared to the blatant bandwagon votes on various people. Also why couldn't I vote for you? I can do whatever I want to As for swinging the vote completely, I'm gonna repeat myself here yet again, but it's because the lynch as it is right now is supposed to be how we get discussion and all this stuff, but instead it just seems like everyone is going round and round and round the same thing, with the elims recording it and about to post a youtube video entitled 'Greatest Prank of 2016'. You're wrong. That looks blunt, doesn't it? But I'm not one for flowery language.
  19. You guys all need to chill out lol. I'm willing to say that Kynedath is inno, and that Rae is evil. Now, some of you might be thinking that STINK is insane! What reasoning does he even have? And to answer, I'll say that I have better reasoning than the vote on Kynedath. For one, it wasn't just Kynedath that voted for Ecth and kept the vote on before the whole item thing, and in fact seemed to be mostly following Kas in terms of 'we need a better lynch target'. So now, you'll say that Kynedath was bandwagoning and should die, right? Well, they might have been bandwagoning, but do you know who completely flat out bandwagoned and was also a deciding vote fairly late in the cycle? Alv. So Rae, why aren't we seeing a focus on Alv? A potential teammate maybe? We'll find out when you're lynched, won't we? So yes, this is me asking everyone to change their votes from another lynch where everyone is voting on people because they feel that they have to vote on someone or something, as the reasons for Kynedath are also reasons for more experienced players. So yeah, looks to me like you all just wanna dominate the lynch for some reason. #VoteRaeForLynch
