  1. Did you just pick the most active people? Or what was your reasoning for those two specifically? Also Hoid Slayer because I'm catching up on D2 and reevaluating my worldview ED1T: Yeah sadge, thought I was cooking but Hoid Slayer might be lock town for me
  2. I could find a better way to present the data haha, I think it might look scary when really it's a very simple game. Village just has to exe 2 elims every Loop or they lose the Boss Mask. Elims have to survive. Activity will get each side powers that can help them catch up or clutch. Could also be the game length sadly. I'm not exactly expecting people to write novels with their activity, but setting aside a whole month does seem like a lot, even if that is often the case with LGs (at least, for those who survive until the end game) If we go another week or so I could maybe create a more standard ruleset (probably my Tress game) and save this one for the future
  3. Sorry y'all, ended up having to work a double shift yesterday so I conked out when I got home. Now I'm up at 4am and can't sleep lol. I need to catch up on yesterday but I think I'll park my vote on Hoid Slayer.
  4. I was indifferent between TUN and Twin. I didn't see anyone coming to Twin's defense, so I felt like it was a low hanging fruit situation and decided to put someone else ahead. I don't know if Hoid Slayer voted before or after me, but people were posting as I was writing mine and at the time I thought it was just Araris and Gaia. After work tonight I will look at the people who were present and their reactions, as well as respond to Doc's RP (sorry friendo). My guess rn is i was a V/V situation but that's mostly because I don't remember why people were voting Twin in the first place, which is generally an indicator that it wasn't convincing.
  5. Yeah, that one is on me sorry TUN Gaea kill is interesting did a lot of people v-read them or something?
  6. I won't specify my Court, but I am in the one with Gaea and Polly, so can confirm KelsierApologist talked in doc when the game first started but hasn't popped up since (only claiming this since Gaea already did).
  7. Should probably bump this again and see if anyone that hasn't signed up already is considering
  8. Guess I'll tell you tomorrow then
  9. Thank you Joe, I was just in the process of fixing it; whoever did the VC after me was inaccurate and that carried forward through Araris. Also Penguin, TUN
  10. Your Polly take is interesting is it normal for V!TUN to force D1 reads like this? I am at work for another 1:15-1:30, so I think I will be back in time to change my vote. Can I get an updated VC from someone who isn't mobile?
  11. NGL I reread again and came around to Penguin, since no one else is voting and ties are better than not ties. This actually feels abnormally snippy, but I will be the first to say tone is hard to read from text. I would somewhat expect it to be shrugged off in a less defensive / rebuttaly way, which they kinda do after you elaborate? But I don't know. That "no biggie" contrast is doing a lot here, at least from my PoV. Feels slightly coached? Could see a world where a more experienced elim downplays the severity of your vote in doc and that cascades into this response. That all said, I am not familiar with Penguin as a player or their exact number of games; just have vague vibes I'm working from here. Good morning Gaea, thank you for the VC KelsierApologist/Zyvoxid: (2) Hoid Slayer, TwinStorm IcedOutPenguin/___________: (2) Araris Valerian, Amanuensis Hoid Slayer/Ekkar Loral: (1) BigBadBagsworth Doc12/Evi: (1) ThatOneWorldHopper Amanuensis/Kosm: (1) Doc12 Araris Valerian/Arlun: (1) IcedOutPenguin
  12. In a non-literal sense, it's like me keeping my vote on Polly so they are clearly in the lead. Whenever they appear, we might be able to glean something from their reaction to possibly getting exed @KelsierApologist Okay, so I read the rules. Couple things: I am the bottom most seniority in my Court, which I think means if I am tied with anyone with higher seniority, I'm the one that's exed, yes? @A Jo in the Bush (ED2T: I now see Seniority is in the player list, glad Araris is older than me ) I would be cool with the Elsecaller Court voting to give me her breath, although it's probably a bad idea given I expect(/hope) to be killed sooner rather than later On that note, whoever gets to make the new Court, feel free to pick me, if you've got the risk apetite Bondsmith Court is really interesting; we get to decide what powers come to us in what order, so maybe we could talk about our preferences in thread ED1T: Oh lmao. This makes sense now.
  13. I will say I did consider voting with you but I also think under a certain threshold of game experience (no shade at Penguin), that's probably NAI. Do you have any more inklings of suspicion or is this the hill you want to build your porch on for D1? (Fair to say no, there's a page and a half of low-info content and I basically got nothing rn) So like. I think the biggest thing I can say is there's no like pre-determined way to play the game, other than voting during the day and using actions where appropriate until only a single team is alive. We're really all coming in with our unique perspectives, and sometimes those perspectives may be skewed towards alignments. Generally the best way to play the game is coming up with topics for discussion that can reveal important clues and holding as many people's feet to the fire as possible to get a sense of their motivations. D1 is usually the hardest because we have no prior alignment flips / deaths to go off of, so often people end up throwing out weak early game votes and/or debating strategies with the known mechanics. I'll post this now and go read the rules again and see if I can come up with a decent example.
  14. Somewhere out of sight, Kosm felt a tickle behind her nose, then quickly manipulated her internal biology to quietly dissipate the sneeze. Had someone recognized her investiture? Or did she choose a form that was so generic, she could easily be mistaken for another? Whatever the case, Kosm hoped that whoever was thinking about her would prove to be an ally over an enemy or, worse, a forlorn lover or long lost relative. So if I am understanding this correctly, Kelsier Apologist is Polly, who now has 3 votes? ED1T: Purple text will be RP, black text is just me
  15. Kosm is currently asleep. Or, at least, in their chamber. Don't bother trying to open the door or knock as it's triple locked and soundproof. I am going to follow her example shortly, but first: Kelsier Apologist. I've always felt that Survivorists tend to be the selfish, murderous sorts.
  16. I'll sign up as Kosm. She is a quiet, mousy priestess who is usually overlooked due to her general 'unremarkability.' You probably don't know her name, but if you do, that's probably all you do know.
  17. Welcome, Inspector o7 Will your Terminian and Zora companion be accompanying you on our journey? I can definitely make that work Awesome I don't know if we've played together but I'm excited to change that Definitely understand where you're coming from on the length. I hope the game is balanced, but if it helps, there is always a chance of a clean sweep ending it in 9 cycles instead of 12 If you have any questions about the rules I can help clarify them. To put it simply, it boils down to the Village needing to vote out 1 Elim from 2 chances on the first loop, and 2 Elims out of 3 chances for each loop after, in order to win a Mask. Elims play the same as usual, trying to blend and deceive. Since there are no flips, you'll have to judge who's innocent and guilty based on which team gets the Mask at the end of every Loop. The power mechanics are just there to encourage activity, strategy, and game progression, so really you can get as much out of the game as you want to put in. The video game itself is a classic, definitely recommend playing or watching a good playthrough of it for your own enjoyment beyond context for the game. If not, I will be able to help guide you through the setting
  18. Got you! Looking forward to seeing what you cook up. Unfortunately we've only got 3 players at the moment, so sign ups will need to be extended until whenever we have a full roster and agreed upon start date. For anyone interested but is worried about scheduling, could you tell me what start date / play window is best for you?
  19. I am mobile RN so can't transfer the information into rich text, but I finished the final Day 1A RP Prompts just before I left for work, if anyone wants to plan their characters with the following information in mind. What you saw before was the rough draft. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1orThurYq4fYrPjRDHD_UN9xhg1GhCR2RcVnptDqsvHM/edit?usp=drivesdk ED1T: Here we go. Keep in mind that while I am a crazy person who's decided to invent a bunch of sub plots that I don't really expect any sane player to fully engage with on top of the mechanical game itself, they are a thing you can explore in RP as much as you want. I understand that it's a busy time with end of the summer trips before the start of school, so all that I ask is you do what you can and have fun
  20. If we are able to get enough people on board by the 21st, I made a simple calendar graphic to delineate the complete schedule. This should help anyone who's got plans like camping trips coming up figure out when they might not be available / decide if they'd like to play still and work around it. Table: Image:
  21. I'm glad you asked! There is a short answer and a long answer to this question, so let me give everyone both. The short answer is that, in the case of a player blending RP and mechanical discussion into a single post, I will decide if they get one or two depending on whether or not each component sufficiently moves the RP and discussion forward in a meaningful way. So long as there's a genuine display of effort, I will likely be generous. The long answer is something I will call: Daily/Nightly RP Prompts: Ideally, players won't need to resort to RP / discussion blend and can instead keep mechanical discussion separate, but I can make either work. One thing to keep in mind that from our characters PoV, they should not have all the information that you (players) do, such as the exact number of MoMs (or the fact that they even exist before Night 1-1). When it comes to things like execution votes, I would prefer to not write the usual mob-rule type write-ups and instead find new creative ways to remove characters from a Loop based on the current turn's circumstances. Does that help?
  22. I will say the main set-up for the narrative (assuming you did not read the write up) is that: The events of Majora's Mask are canon; after purifying the titular mask and freeing the Skull Kid, Link disappeared from Termina (returned to Hyrule) Enough years have passed (33) that the Happy Mask Salesman is an old man and has a granddaughter who is the same age that Link was (Ap will be your NPC guide / the Link stand in) Every year, there is a three day long Hero's Festival where the people of Termina come to Clock Town to celebrate the mysterious hero who saved them all D1-1 is the Dawn of the First Day of said Festival, which is going be a chill time mostly for RP, strategizing, and posturing (before the calamity kicks in and your adventure begins) The Hero of Time, decidedly, does not return, leaving our characters to fulfill his role by following in his footsteps For that reason, I would say it's best for the narrative that no one plays an overt Link nod, although it's perfectly acceptable for your character to be dressed as him (as kids often do during the Hero's Festival) and pretending, or having amnesia / a psychological break that convinces they're the Hero of Time (despite evidence of them being heinous with ocarina / sword / bow), or even Termina's version of Zelda (she is never seen in Termina within the context of the game) who much like her character in Ocarina of Time, could disguise herself as a male (see: Sheik). If you do go these routes, however, you may risk a chance (or we'll make a bit out) of Ap being confused with your character and vice versa. All in all I am fairly amenable to whatever, but I do advise people play a character they feel like they can get a lot of RP out of.
  23. Yeah, it's a long one! Going to definitely keep me busy until completion, so I don't blame you. Hope you enjoy your trip and can at least spectate the insanity while you're still around! Combination of the font I used in the doc (Merriweather) and the fact that I can only select 12 or 14 for the font size and not 13 in this box. I went down from 14 to 12 now and think it may be too small I might also just be getting old Can't wait to see what you cook up
