I wish for the power to always have a nickel in my back pocket, and no one can ever remove it

Ok. You now become useless. just like that nickel. and in a few years the canadian government will decide the nickel is redundant, and since you can't take the nickel out of your back pocket you will be forced to sit on a useless nickel for the rest of your life. It becomes an analogy of your life.

I wish that I could time travel with unrestricted freedom.

Granted, you are the nightwatcher. The Nightwatcher gets annoyed at you for trying to steal her name and forces you to live up to your new name by watching Sharders and Sanderfans in the night. You never get much sleep.

I wish for...a misshapen spark that suffers the judgement and pain. And it can't hurt me.

granted. but everything else hurts you. Including breathing. And existing.

I wish my chemistry class would end.

  3. back to the original question, no I do not believe the dawnshards are Shards. They are the only other thing to have destroyed a planet or at least damaged it, but they are non sentient. The Shardcast people came up with the theory that the dawnshards are on Akinah, part of Aimiah. I happen to agree. If you wanna find out more listen to "Aimia and Akinah" shardcast episode.

    Goodluck

  4. Better question would be could a Larkin take Breath from someone without them noticing. That would be interesting, cause then the Trader girl from the interludes who has a Larkin could steal people’s stormlight!

  5. Ok, we will see how this goes, but I saw that the Church of the Stick is a thing. But very little is done for the Matchsendi, so here is a battleground. Basically I want you to start your comment with declaring a side, then make some witty insult to the other side. Make sure to upvote your fellow Stickbinders and Matchsendi!

    example comment

    I am a Stick

matches have little sticks on them. Therefore all Matchsendi are just baby sticks. Hah roasted

    or

    I am a matchsendi

I eat sticks with my tongues of fire. Hah roasted (see what I did there? Fire roasts sticks! Hah I’m witty!)

  6. I liked it

I will point out that we really are lacking information on a few of the radiants to really have acurracy.

i got Elsecaller which is a little funny since I hate study or pursuit of knowledge. I’ve always identified close to what little we know of the Willshapers. Variety

    Spoiler

And murdering sadeas. He deserved it.

    But it was really cool!!!

Oh.  That is nowhere near as disturbing as I what I was thinking.  (This feels like a certain scene from The Emperor's New Groove...)
Bad brain!  <smacks forehead>  Why do you always leap to the worst possible conclusions?!  Shame on you!
...If you really want to know what I was thinking:

      Reveal hidden contents

Be warned, you cannot un-think it...

      Reveal hidden contents

I was thinking Zweiss was the only RWBY fandom ship more disturbing than Enabler.  GACK.  Now excuse me while I go scrub my mind clean with a wire brush.

Also, I know Apollyon already granted this, but... <stage whisper> I had Kelsier call you Shock 'cause he was "shocked by your presence." </stage whisper>  Eh?  Get it?  Get it? ...Yes I know.  Not very creative.  I was starting to run out of imagination juice there at the end.

Granted.  The Staticspren looks like a dust bunny.  Its name is Phtephen (with a capital "Phthphthph").  After swearing the Second Ideal of the DoNothings ("I will do nothing today that can be put off until tomorrow"), you are granted the surges of Stupidity and LackofTui.  You and Phtephen enjoy many long hours of rubbing helium balloons against the carpet and then zapping each other with the static electricity this produces.
It's the simple things in life...

Your bane is that you are now allergic to magazine subscriptions.  You'll have to go to your local library for your monthly fix of... whatever magazine you enjoy.  (Sports Illustrated?  People?  Forbes?  Backpacker?  I dunno, I'm not too familiar with popular magazines).

I wish to be a Brass Ferring: a Firesoul!

Granted, sadly you develop an allergy to brass, and get terrible rashes when you are hot. You are forced to live in an igloo all by yourself because you become too grotesque to look at when you are too warm or too close to anything made out of brass. Really dude, just don’t ever go outside. It looks terrible. Your face gets really red and blotchy, you skin gets covered in a rash. You are constantly scratching yourself, you sneeze constantly near brass, and get a terrible rasp in your voice. Your skin tightens and you are forced to slough terribly. You make horrible hacking noises.

i wish to have more Breaths than Susebron the God King

(Anyone know what heightening Susebron was? 10 or 11?  I can’t rememeber what it was)

Indeed, I think Nathan Fillion and RDJ would both do a great job. I don't think it would be difficult at all for Fillion to change his usual persona into something more vengeful. The difficulty with Kelsier is that he's funny, but he's also dangerous. But, I would have no doubt that Fillion could pull it off.

However, I think RDJ could inhabit that personality better.

I don’t think RDG is anyone other than Iron Man! He did all that other stuff, but I don’t think he can “inhabit” any other role than the billionaire, playboy, philanthropist (all things Kelsier hates Btw). He seems too old, and doesn’t really feel suited to being Kelsier

  9. Nice I missed that part Ruin said. No, Shards generally don’t use Avatars but they do. They don’t because it is their greatest weakness, it seems to leave them vulnerable. Such as Preservation finally dying when he appeared in the Physical Realm. But doesn’t Vin use one more often because she is new to the power?

i strongly believe that either Kelsier has picked up a shard himself, and is just limiting himself to hide, or is strongly associated with one. Brandon’s term to allow “survive” to associate with this shard seems to great of a clue, so I will stand by Kelsier either having a shard or getting one in the near future. If he really didn’t want us to think about Kelsier, then he would have corrected Seonids terminology.

    btw I’ve enjoyed this discussion.

There isn't a Survival Shard. There is a Shard that just wants to survive, yes, but "survival" is at most tangential to its intent.

Also, given we know Kelsier's going to play a role in MB Era 3, and we saw his difficulties in picking up/holding a Shard in SH, it's very unlikely that he's "currently" holding a Shard.

The only reason he could hold Preservations Shard was because, as Leras says, he isn’t Connected enough with him. So that shouldn’t hinder him from being connected from another shard! The only reason I truly connect Kelsier and The possible survive shard is A) Survive was his fricking motto!!!! He literally says it all the time!!! And B in BoM we see what I believe is Kelsier, so this means he “re tied his string” or got a cool new power (like maybe a shard???) he then supercharges the Bracers with a whopping amount of power! Pretty good indicators he somehow came across a fair amount of power. Oh and he also says he will be back for them, indicating at least functional immortality. All of this could be wrong, of course, if it turns out the guy at the end of BoM isn’t Kelsier

heck!! Kelsier is part of Era 3!!! I’m so pumped up now!!!!! My friends are gonna go crazy for that!

  11. Yea, personifying wisdom is a very old and sacred authors trick. Solomon uses it in the bible, Victor Hugo uses it, Michael Scott uses it. If those great men used it, i think Brandon Sanderson is plenty qualified

haha. But to be honest I’m still freaking out about the whole “survive” shard! Is it Kelsier? Does that explain why he came back to life? And filled the Bands with so much power (at least I think it’s Kelsier, it seemed so very Kelsier like)

  12. Now I know you are all probably gonna be bored but I have a thing for language so hear me out

Why is it that all the languages across the Cosmere are so similar!

i don’t mean the overall language, I mean things that are specific to a language, like usuage of pronouns and such. For example there is a slumlord on Nalthis named Ashu. Ashu is incredibly similar to the Aon Ashe! I know I know, Brandon was probably running out of names, but there are more too! Ati, the many millennia holder of Ruin, is an Aon! My theory on that is that he was Arelish but I have no way to confirm that. And IaIai has an Aonic name too! Aon IaI corresponds too closely to her name to be an accident. I believe Brandon is trying to show that these planets have been subtly influencing each other, at least they did at the past. Also because most of the names seem derived from Sel, I’m led to wonder if that is where the original humans resided.

Anyway that’s my theory or thought provoking thought, however you wanna view it. Please post comments if you find any other names that seem to be spread across the Cosmere! And if I’m wrong on anything please let me know!

Since we're talking godmetal names, might as well mention 'Trellium' which is the mystery metal that appears in Shadows of Self. Brandon has said we can use that name for the time being and it is from a Shard that we know. And it's very likely to be Bavadin's godmetal, but not confirmed ad such.

Bavadin was confirmed to be on Taldain last time I checked, so unless Coppermind is wrong...there is actually a very low chance of Bavadin being on Scadrial, especially since Shards can't leave a planetary system if they are Invested in it.

  14. So I have a few questions and potential answers

    1. The perpendicularity to Threnody is caused by killing aperson. This is indicated by Hoid in his appearance in Mistborn: Secret History. He comes riding on a corpse and claims it is his raft. Khriss also mentions in Arcanum Unbounded that the perpendicularity is "morbid". Which would be a heavy indication of this. My question how do you kill a person and cause a perpendicularity? Is it caused by using certain abilities? Is it similar to Hemalurgy?

    2. The evil is likely Ambition. My question is how did Odium cause such damage to the shard, while not causing the power to disapear? It apears primal, but also is alluded to have specifically tried to kill humanity. Whereas the shards of Sel seemed to become uncaring, and unalive. Requiring human intervention. But why is Ambition able to still operate to some capacity, while other shattered shards are left mindless?

I just hope it's not lined with Aluminum...

    that wouldn't be fun...

Also, what would happen if Lift ate Aluminum? I think she would implode.

I love it, I don't think she would implode though. Her innate ability to turn her food into investiture would probably burn the metal, and subsequently cause her to starve. Probably would steal all her fat deposits. No calories for Lift = no stormlight!

I actually do think that Adolin will become a Edgdancer, either that or he will become something new. A Radiant who doesn't swear the oaths, and can only use the Shardblade

The problem is we recived from books the prove of her growing up.

She had her first period between WoR and Edgedancer, this alone implies her physical and biological grow.

She actually asked to remain the same to the Old Magic but that was simply something the Old Magic can't do.

Someone believe She was Cognitivelly stuck (as Old Magic's effects are Cognitive in nature) instead of physically stuck, so her mind will have a weird development over the years...but She is still too young to try to find this

I thought the first period was an assumption or was there a confirmation to that?
