So far Electrum, Cadmium, Bendalloy, Nicrosil, and Chromium steal attributes which we do not currently know about. That means there are 11 metals which we already know what they steal. Have there been any recent updates that say what any of those spikes steal? I had a theory that Electrum stole temporal Allomancy and in all the metal categories two attributes, Feruchemy, and Allomancy are stolen. However, until Sanderson does another reddit Q&A, this is all I have to go on. What do you all think the others Hemalurgic metals steal?

It's not what you think it is. We know that Adonalsium was split by the now shards and it was also said that there was a force that opposed Adonalsium. Sanderson considered a group of people to be a "force", implying the original shardholders. Also, the weapon that Preservation was talking about was the Atium cache which would be burned by the Atium Mistings, denying Ruin's means to end the world. The sixteen part is also a reference to the number of shards split from Adonalsium and the number of metals in Allomancy. The number 16 is a constant in Sanderson's Cosmere and shouldn't really be thought about too hard. If there really was a weapon like that in the cosmere, it would be too much of an investiture beacon and probably would've already been found by now. And finally, in regards to the boiling point of water, that wouldn't work either as that can change depending on atmospheric pressure, as atmospheric pressure changes depending on high up you are. Also unit changing is also a problem. Preservation realised this and decided on 16, as it was the cosmere constant--something He thought they should recognise, but at that time His mind was also pretty much gone. If I can find the interviews which I got this information from, I'll edit this and post them below.

Well if you really wanted to get technical, all shards if invested enough on scadrial could make a god metal which could be alloyed with the 16 base metals and pre-existing god metals, so there is far more than 34. All Lerasium alloys have the power to turn those who burn it into Mistings, and all Atium alloys have temporal effects. Also (as a side note) all shards have the power to see the future via the Spiritual Realm but some are better at it than others, probably due to their intent.

We know that the combination of Ruin and Preservation is called Harmony (a name taken by Sazed), but what other names do you think might exist for other possible Shard combinations like Ruin and Cultivation? You could even throw in a third one. Obviously, some of the Shard won't go as well together as others will. Post what you think below. That part about the Blessing's being a pair was something I was already kind of aware of, but thanks for the clarification. Nice to know the sentience is just a natural result of changes done from Hemalurgy. Quite aware of what the Blessing's already do, but nice to know they could be used by anyone. Thanks also.

So in Hemalurgy, the metals Iron, Tin, Zinc, and Copper all steal attributes that can be given to people, and turned into Blessings for kandra. It's also said that kandra Blessings are created specifically for kandra. A friend of mine was saying that the properties stolen for blessings were different than the attributes stolen for a spike. Hemalurgy is intent dependant, so no one can create a Hemalurgic spike on accident. Is the special preparation needed to create Blessings the intent to create a kandra Blessing? Do kandra blessing have a slightly different effect than a spike filled with the same attribute that is not a blessing? And is the gaining sentience from a Blessing a biological effect of a being a kandra/mistwraith, or is it a fundamental property of the Blessings themselves?

So I can understand why Lerasium, which turns you into a Mistborn as a "side effect", would be categorized as an Internal Pulling metal. What I'm confused about is why Atium is an External Pulling metal and Malatium is an External Pushing metal, when surely they should be the other way round. Electrum (allowing you to see your future actions) is a Internal Pushing metal, and gold (seeing your potential selves) is an Internal Pulling metal. So surely Atium would be an External Pushing metal, while Malatium would be an External Pulling metal? However, I am getting this from the Mistborn: Adventure Game book, and it is the only thing I have seen so far that even attempts to categorise the god metals. It is quite possible that it could be wrong, or it could be a print error.

So in Mistborn: Secret History, there is this part where Kelsier finds the fortress that the Ire are in and sticks his hand inside one of the stone's used to make it up. Upon doing so, Kelsier gains visions of the place the stone is from; he began thinking that green plants were normal, and a few seconds after even began to understand the language used by the Ire. That last part is similar to someone using a universal duralumin metalmind filled with connection, tapping it in a foreign land so that others can understand them and vice versa. However, even days after that, Kelsier is still able to understand them and the effects don't seem to have worn off. Is it possible that Kelsier has gained some form of permanent connection to the Selish System, and so by extension to Devotion and Dominion? Furthermore, does that mean it is easier to gain connection to something as a cognitive shadow?

How does the 3d landscape of a planet translate in the 2d-ish space of the cognitive realm? Does it have to do with how people perceive it which allows them to worldhop to other planets? How would you, for example, run from the North Pole of a planet to its South Pole in the cognitive realm? It's something that's never quite made sense to me, and I know that the cognitive realm looks different on different planets.
