Don't think I ever read Holes, might have watched the movie, don't remember.
-
They will probably still find a way to piss off anyone who read the books, I mean when does a movie go exactly like a book anyways?
-
I just hope they don't ruin the story
-
I don't mean nitpick as a bad thing btw I just mean I don't catch all the details and point stuff out

Sorry, I don't really nitpick into the cosmere stuff like everyone else here does, I don't understand a lot of things and I miss out on a lot of things when I read the books. I'm here because I love Brandon Sandersons works, especially anything so mere related, but, I'm mostly here to better understand what I missed and what I don't get. Naturally I would argue for whatever makes the most sense to prove my theory or whatever, but I'm not really here to contribute, since it seems like I'm not able to convey my thoughts well enough anyways. I mostly just type stuff as I make it up and then fix it when I am done. I'm hoping I've got many years ahead of me, which will include the reading of Brandon's future books, and hopefully I will understand it better then. I'm also hoping Brandon will live to be an immortal master story teller.

Ok, so I am probably using investiture too often and wrongly. What I am trying to say is that when Raoden fell into the lake in Elantris he essentially told it no, and so it didn't dissolve his body or whatever. You can't take breath from an awakened object that you didn't awaken, I think, so how could you use an awakened object as fuel for one of the three metallic arts when that would probably involve absorbing their investiture, if that is the right way to put it. The awakened metal is sentient, and unless it's command allowed for it to be used up then I don't think it would want to be used as fuel. If you somehow consumed it and we're capable of burning it, would that make it dead, and it's investiture your own to claim? I don't know, but I don't think so. So if the metal is still awakened and alive and was not awakened by the allomancer who wanted to use the awakened metal as fuel, would the metal need to give their breath up, like returned or anyone else who has breath? Or if not, then wouldn't they need to somehow allow it. I don't know if I made sense to you, which I probably didn't before either, which might because I'm not as into this to cite my sources and reasons why, I just ramble on and on...

that makes me wonder if someone could be spiked on Scadrial with an awakened metal anthem hear two voices, or if a the terris woman could perform feruchemy with an awakened metal. But wouldn't the invested metal need to give permission to have its investiture used, like the lake in elantris needed permission to kill an elantran. But the breath is like the life force of the metal so I would assume the metal would become like a dead returned when they lose too much breath. We will probably learn about it during the third trilogy.

Demoux is the only Scadrial native worldhopper we know of right? But he can only burn atium, which isn't in production any more I don't know if you could even awaken it.
-
What do you think would happen if an allomancer burned an awakened metal, assuming that it is possible? I have a feeling it wouldn't be easy because that metal would probably not want to be ingested but I don't think that the allomancer would get the breaths, because I think it is like killing someone holding a lot of breath, or killing someone like the God King. Only with the benefit of allomancy. But it also makes sense that the investiture could be transferred like that, or maybe the breath is used as a fuel, resulting in a very powerful use of investiture in the form of allomancy. What do you think?

The deepest ones are probably some different category of shades, because it seems they can still provoked, just not often, and way more dangerous. Silence probably has seen one herself otherwise I don't think she could truly fear them as she seems to have in that one moment.

I agree with this, the island itself seems to favor the birds, so maybe the birds co evolve with the worms.

Sixth of Dusk timeline/ones above Brandon Answers [Maybe spoilers]
Lopen replied to ninch's topic in Cosmere Discussion
but once they travel they cannot go back because they are too far from elantris, and probably the shard itself. Wouldn't this also suggest they couldn't travel infinite distance. Also, couldn't the ones above be surge binders or whatever the ones that can "fly" are called? ( sorry, read WoK+WoR too many books ago to remembers) but Brandon said they could exit orbit with enough healing power+Stormlight. What if the ones above were just gravitation surge binders using massive amounts of densely stored Stormlight- 50 replies

Like measuring Spren, and then the Spren staying that length maybe the fact that they created the simple rules makes the shades behave in the way that they described that they should? Does this make sense? And I don't think this place could actually be Hell, because they can worldhop, so they are still physically alive. At least I believe we have heard of a worldhopper from threnody

Hey I'm relatively new to using the forum and I wish to become an active part of this awesome community. I was wondering what that green thing under my name is that says "2 Darkeyes"?

What do we know about The Ones Above Us? I assumed they were just world hoppers but I was thinking they could be the space travelers from the third mistborn trilogy, becuase Brandon said that space travel would be powered by allomancy. This is probably wrong but I just wanted to say this and please tell me if I am wrong. Or maybe the people of the First of the Sun can see on the cognitive plane instinctually and the Ones Above are traveling using vehicles in the cognitive realm? That probably doesn't make any sense because they are said to sail the stars or something like that, and would stars appear in the cognitive realm? Also on a side note does the Conservation of Mass theory apply to the cosmere because I read that Nightblood makes stone disappear upon touch which doesn't seem to make sense. I know I am rambling but thanks for looking at this.

Now I am confused is Chronicles of Amber part of the cosmere? Am I missing something? I'm kinda new to this cosmere thing I have only read SA and all the mistborn books and am currently reading warbreaker.
-
Oh! Ok, thanks for the clarification. I knew something was wrong with that, becuase I was looking through the Coppermind when I looked at that. Thanks again.

Ok, correct me if I am wrong but Demoux was seen as a world hopper in the Stormlight Archive, but he was also a noble in the mistborn series who was being imitated by a Kandra? How can this be possible? Wouldn't Ore Seur need his bones, meaning he is dead? Does that place the Stormlight Archive before Mistborn? I thought that Stormlight was after Mistborn? Or was Ore Seur using a fake corpse left by Demoux before he time travel/world hopped? But I also thought Kelsier killed Demoux to get the bones for Ore Seur, or that was at least implied. Thanks, and I'm new here, I would appreciate any clarifications and answers.
