Mid-Range Game 8: Highborn Intrigue
RavenRadient7 replied to Renegade's topic in Sanderson Elimination
At this point, it looks like a three-way tie. I'd still like to hear from Alvron, though I'll end up moving my vote if the focus stays off of him for much longer. Kipper and Alvom, I understand why you're suspicious of me, but I'm going after inactives to test a personal theory of mine, though I'm not sure how well it's going to work. So far this game, we've had very few players stay inactive, and each time someone drops out of activity, someone else jumps right onto them. Alvom, I know you pointed me out for jumping onto Alvron, but Herowannabe has also been focusing on inactives over all else, if just in the form of "I'm playing this game with a focus on lynching inactives to keep everyone in the game." I suspect that all of the eliminators in this game are still active, and are trying to keep our focus on the inactives in order to take the focus off of them, as they are all actively playing. Of course, this doesn't help me look any less innocent, considering I've been targeting inactives as well, but I was hoping to get one more inactive confirmed as a villager before proposing this tactic, and the fact that, if I'm right, Hero is possibly an eliminator who's phrasing his plan in terms of "lets change gears towards lynching inactives" rather than making it obvious that this is a plan to distract us from the real problem. I don't know if I'm right or not. I could be reading the situation entirely wrong, but I am suspicious of Hero's turn to focusing on inactives, and I've been hoping to build up more proof before revealing my thoughts - a plan that only works if I wasn't a possible target on the block at the moment. If I die this round, not revealing my thoughts is more dangerous than revealing them. Of course, now that I've said all this, the eliminators, if this is truly their plan, have a chance to change tactics, making my vote on Alvron no longer viable in my strategy. I'm going to hold off placing my vote, which might be incredible stupid considering I'm a target this round, but I really don't suspect Araris like some other people seem to do, and I'd rather leave it as a tie at the moment. Edit: Clarification- 911 replies

Mid-Range Game 8: Highborn Intrigue
RavenRadient7 replied to Renegade's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Clanky, Alvom more or less summed up what I was trying to get across. I'm suspicious of those who went after STINK not because the assassin killed him, since I think we've more or less cleared the assassin as villager considering his kill against Ripple, but because we now know that STINK was a villager, and someone who went after him might have been an eliminator jumping on a player who the others were suspecting in order to get another villager lynched/killed. It's not a strong lead, I know, and I think we'd be better off looking at Wilson's accusers and targets, considering she was killed by the eliminators. However, I hadn't had the chance to look through the past thread yet, and I called out someone who I knew had gone after STINK. Alvom, in this case I meant that you and STINK were going back and forth on each other, pointing out flaws in each others logic and such, not that you ever voted for him. I got the sense from that scene that not both of you were eliminators, but that doesn't automatically mean one of you was an eliminator and one wasn't. It was just the only thing I could remember that stood out from the previous day cycles. Thank you for replying. Beyond that. I'm suspicious of Emerald, Alvron, and Bort, as none of them have posted very much. I'm less suspicious of Bort, considering that he was rather active in the last game he was an eliminator, so I am inclined to think that he is just ill, and unable to focus on playing. The other two haven't really given great explanations of why they are out of the game. Araris' name has also come up in the discussion, and I know Wilson was also suspicious of him. But, at this point, I think I'd rather put my vote on Alvron, as I would like to know why you haven't been very active in this game. Edit: Color Edit2: Vote Change- 911 replies

Mid-Range Game 8: Highborn Intrigue
RavenRadient7 replied to Renegade's topic in Sanderson Elimination
So STINK wasn't an eliminator, just someone who disliked first day lynches. And Wilson was killed, which I've been half-expecting to happen sometime early on in this game. At this point, I'd look at those who were targeting Wilson and STINK, and see what we can find from there. Also, looking at those who Wilson and STINK were targeting might find us some leads, though it's probably not going to be as conclusive as looking at those who were targeting them, considering neither of them would have known that their targets were eliminators or not. I'll probably find more leads once I have a chance to reread through the threads, but off the top of my head I do know that Alvom was targeting STINK pretty heavily during the last day cycle. Anything to say about that? Edit: I'm going to be getting off soon, so I probably won't have time to go through the threads until later on this cycle and find any leads.- 911 replies

Mid-Range Game 8: Highborn Intrigue
RavenRadient7 replied to Renegade's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Kipper, I'm not entirely sure what you mean when you say I' taking a "middle ground" approach. Yes, I've been wavering back and forth on the plans that keep coming up, but that's as much because I don't feel like I know which is the better side in those events. Other than that, both of the people we've lynched so far hadn't come up as suspicious to me, so I haven't been exactly all "hey, let's go lynch them." Is that what you mean? At the moment, I'm suspicious of STINK and/or Alvom, considering that I doubt both of them are eliminators after the way they went after each other last round. Honey Badger's last minute vote seems a little odd, though I can understand his given reason. Other than that, I know people were thinking about Araris, but he's never seemed very suspicious to me.- 911 replies

Mid-Range Game 8: Highborn Intrigue
RavenRadient7 replied to Renegade's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Why would the worldsinger/con artist move a vote off of Winter? She wasn't going to get lynched, no matter what. To me, it seems like either the worldsinger/con artist either posted their vote early in the game, and didn't bother changing it, or wanted to draw attention away from Winter, or wanted to try and make it look like Winter was an eliminator. Personally, I'm thinking the first one, as early in the game, moving the vote off of her might have made a difference, and would have made her look more suspicious. Other than that, mailliw was innocent. Where does that put us? I know some people had some information they thought this vote would confirm, but I honestly had trouble following their logic. What does his innocence suggest?- 911 replies

Mid-Range Game 8: Highborn Intrigue
RavenRadient7 replied to Renegade's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Clanky, I am concerned about this Worldsinger plan not working out, but I think that any information we can get out of this lynch, including not having a change in vote, would help get information. The "pseudo lynch" thing could work, but there is the problem of people not voting for the people "voted" for in the thread. I'm not seeing any problem with revealing that the person was "not corrupt," but I'm probably missing something.- 911 replies

Mid-Range Game 8: Highborn Intrigue
RavenRadient7 replied to Renegade's topic in Sanderson Elimination
...Wilson, I keep forgetting about ties. I'm still way too used to last game, where a tie meant one of them would get lynched, and it was random. And, like I said, I'd rather have Mailliw lynched and get the information from him rather than not. As for "jumping right onto the vote," I've been watching this thread basically constantly, and we're nearing the end of the cycle. I saw Venture add his vote, and when I didn't get a great response as to why back, I placed a vote that I thought wouldn't mean much, to point out that I suspected him, rather than just leave it alone. Okay, I've changed my comments on this post at least three different times before posting, as new information comes in. I'm more than willing to leave the vote if you think that it would help tell about the Worldsinger issue, though I would also be willing to remove it if we want to make sure mailliw is lynched, rather than leave him possibly alive through a tie. I'm leaning towards removing it just to gain the information from Mailliw's lynch, but I'm willing to follow your lead if you think we can get more information from leaving it and dealing with the consequences of a tie. Lopen, thank you for the reminder of Venture's patterns. Last time, this is exactly what he was doing, and it frustrated me as much then as it does now. I'll keep that in mind for future interactions. Edit: Clarification- 911 replies

Mid-Range Game 8: Highborn Intrigue
RavenRadient7 replied to Renegade's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Venture, that doesn't seems like a good reason. I know that I was avoiding voting on Mailliw because we already had three votes on him, and a solid two-vote lead above any other candidate, making it unlikely we would have a Worldsinger able to change the votes on him. Adding a fourth vote at this point seems excessive. Alvom, I have no idea if Mailliw is innocent or not, and some of the others are having good points. I don't mind if we happen to lynch Mailliw, unless he comes on and gives a good reason why he hasn't been talking much, but I don't think Venture really has a good reason to add a vote. At this point, considering the lateness of all this, my vote is more a statement, rather than an actual attempt to lynch Ven. Winter, I agree with you. If Mailliw turns out innocent, or guilty, we're getting information about his actions, and we might have a new target to follow after this. I don't remember what people we're saying Mailliw's guilt or innocence would say, but we might be able to gain more information about Ven from this.- 911 replies

So, at this point, it's looking like Mailliw is going to get lynched, unless a completely new name comes up in the next few hours. I'm not going to vote on him at the moment, considering there are three votes for him, and only one vote on any other name at the moment, but that might change if another name comes up as a target. Beyond that. I think that performing a "follow the seeker," as Winter keeps calling it, could be really dangerous. Sure, it could give us some useful information about the other players, but it's going to put a player in danger no matter what we try and do, and the death of that player could damage our ability to continue this plan. Kipper has already been hit once, and survived. Trying to have him be the safe role is only asking to get him killed, and we don't seem to have anyone else who anyone trusts well enough to continue this role. Personally, I think we'd be better off looking at the players associated with Ripple, and work off the information that we have there, rather than follow a plan that might kept us some information, and seems to have a high chance of getting "trusted" players or powerful roles either killed or corrupted.- 911 replies

Mid-Range Game 8: Highborn Intrigue
RavenRadient7 replied to Renegade's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I hadn't thought about the eliminators trying to manipulate us into getting us to work against each other, though it does make sense. At this point, though, I'm not sure what to think. Alvom and STINK tearing into each other makes me suspect that not both of them are eliminators, though either one could be, or neither of them could. Alvom's point about STINK deciding to place a lynch vote while disagreeing with Day 1 lynches does seem suspicious, but it's not enough for me to feel ready to place a vote. I'm having trouble following why people think Mailliw's suspicious, but I also don't have a good handle on how people "normally act" in these games. At this point, I'm not going to add a third vote onto him. Adamir. Winter is suspicious of me because of how I said that she was lurking when she wasn't (anything else I'm missing, Winter?), and I'm suspicious of her because she said I lied while at the same time admitting it could have been a mistake, but I will point out that she didn't vote for me this cycle. Last cycle, yes. This cycle, no. Current votes are as follows: Raven: Night Vote Shallan: Paranoid King Feligon: Herowannabe Winter Cloud: Adamir Mailliw: Wilson, Kipper Edit: Color- 911 replies

Winter, that's a good point that Ripples was trying to get someone else lynched, away from her, but she jumped ship onto phattemer as the second vote, meaning that she broke the tie between her and another, more or less ensuring her lynch if her new target wasn't lynched. That seems really dangerous for her, and unless it's a case of her being a new player and not noticing, I'm more inclined to believe that she had at least one person willing to back her up, and throw their own weight onto the new lynch. The short amount of time would make it hard to change lynches, making it even harder for her to not get targeted, but would also make it hard for phattemer to defend himself.- 911 replies

Winter, I never "switched" to you from Ripples. You were the first vote I placed, as a poke vote, and then I switched to Ripples, whom I left it on the entire rest of the day. Though, I am wondering why you seem so certain that none of the others in the lynch were eliminators, but don't give a reason. Though, I had completely forgotten that conspirers can't use the doc during the day, so unless Ripples had a PM open with a fellow eliminator, which seems like a dangerous thing to do in a game with Couriers, she couldn't have "gotten" her allies to jump onto phattemer's lynch. That doesn't mean none of them decided to join in to aid in protecting her.- 911 replies

... I'm sort of flattered that enough people consider me a threat to place an additional vote on me. Though, considering that Ripples was an eliminator Brightlady, and I voted on her last round, I wouldn't be surprised if she was a vote on me here. Which reminds me. Can someone get the additional vote due to just one vote, or do at least two people have to vote for the same person in order for someone to gain an additional vote on them? Good work, assassin. Ripple's death means that we've got the beginnings to work off of. Someone's mentioned looking at who she voted for first, and who voted against her, but we should also consider who voted with her to ensure phattemer's lynch. I doubt all of them were eliminators, but probably at least one of them were. Unless, of course, the other eliminators saw everyone jumping on the lynch train, and didn't see any reason to join in. Heronwannabe started it, followed by Ripples, followed by Alvom and STINK back to back, ended by Lopen. It seems odd to me that Ripples would jump to vote onto phattemer, when the votes were tied against her, unless she knew at least one of her eliminator friends would back her up. I'm leaning towards not Heron, because he seems focused on inactives and this seems more like Ripples getting her allies to help save her by jumping on a new name who wasn't protecting themselves. In that case, I'm looking at Alvom, Lopen, and STINK, though I'm not ready to put a vote on any of them.- 911 replies

I'm inclined to agree with Haelbarde, and say this was mostly a new-player lynch train, but Lopen has played before. And placed the last vote. Of all of those who voted for phattemer, he's the one I'm most suspicious of. Other than that, I won't be on for most of this cycle. I'll be checking in every so often for the next few hours, and then I'll probably won't be on again until after this cycle ends.- 911 replies

Wilson, I understand where your coming from, and I can understand why it tripped your suspicions. Honestly, I'm not sure if lynching inactives or actives is better: that's why I've thrown out both possibilities at different times this cycle. I do believe that lynching an inactive gives us less information than lynching an active, but that we might have eliminator hiding among the inactives. At this point, I really don't feel like I have enough information to make a decision. At this point, I don't see any point in moving my vote. Right now, phattemer has a majority, and I'd rather not jump on a bandwagon, especially when the target is inactive. Of course, this might come back to bite me if phattemer is an eliminator, but that's that.- 911 replies

Mid-Range Game 8: Highborn Intrigue
RavenRadient7 replied to Renegade's topic in Sanderson Elimination
At this point, I'm not entirely sure who to vote for. It's at a tie for Ripples and Honey Badger. Ripples has been more active than Honey Badger, and STINK's name has also come up as suspicious. At this point, I'm not ready to change my vote. I will be leaving this thread in a few minutes, and I don't know if I'll get back on in time to change my vote. I suppose we'll see what happens.- 911 replies

Mid-Range Game 8: Highborn Intrigue
RavenRadient7 replied to Renegade's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I have no idea if that's a good idea or not. I think Clanky has points about lynching an active, to try and get more information out of them. I also think lynching someone who isn't doing anything means we're not going to hit a player who's trying to participate. So, no real thoughts here. Though, someone who's only posted once or twice might be a good medium between the two ideas. Edit: I agree that lynching someone who's been on, but not active, is a better choice than lynching someone who hasn't been on at all.- 911 replies

I don't blame you for being flustered, Ripple. Happens to me, too. Really, at this point, I'm not sure who to lynch, and I suppose lynching an inactive would be as good as any other choice, considering we have little to no information to go off of. I'm going to leave my vote on you for now, Ripple, because I would really like to hear from Honey before we try and lynch him, but I should be back on just before this cycle ends, and I might change my vote depending on what happens.- 911 replies

Mid-Range Game 8: Highborn Intrigue

I think I'm figuring out the pattern for this thread. I'm watching it closely, barely nothing happens. I leave for a few hours, then everything happens. Or maybe I'm just so focused I don't notice just how much is happening. Beyond that, though, Ripple, do you have a reason for voting for Honey Badger that isn't just bandwagoning? I agree that Honey is suspicious in pushing for a vote and not helping ensuring it goes on, but I was wondering what your thoughts were. And can someone do a vote analysis? I'd do it myself, but I only have about half an hour before I'm away from this thread again, and I really don't have the time. I'm wondering who has what votes. Edit: ....And I get ninja'd. Thanks, Alvron.- 911 replies

Probably, especially since a few of us have said that giving up role information would probably be a bad idea. But who really knows, in this game. Along those lines: are we allowed to reveal who we're in a PM with, or not?- 911 replies

Heirs to the Final Empire: Roleplaying Thread
RavenRadient7 replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Inactive RPs
Ryna sighed, looking across the mess of papers covering her desk. Schematics and half-abandoned plans took up the desk, covering the official documents and letters. Whatever she had expected from moving to the center of the Empire, this was not it. The advent of the Steel Ministry had complicated things, and her husband had taken to hiding himself away rather than trying to deal with the mess. If he wasn't still showing up for dinners, she would have guessed that he had returned back to his childhood home. Ryna sat down at her desk, and glanced out the door where her daughter was doing...something. She loved Kela, but the girl seemed distant on the best of days. A brilliant mind, but Ryna worried she wouldn't be able to keep up with the politics of it all. Digging out one of the papers at the bottom of the pile, Ryna frowned. Allomancy was more important than she had figured it would be, here in the capital. Much more important, indeed. Maybe that was something to work on.- 868 replies
