Perhaps but if it wasn't for him the gui, mouse would still be stuck at an obscure lab in Xerox. He may not have invented the ipod,gui, mouse etc but he certainly popularized it. It takes some real talent to turn ideas into products and market them successfully.

@Joe ST It was Dragonbone Chair-Memory, Sorrow and Thorn series. How far into the books did you go t get hooked ?

I have to recommend M.Y.T.H adventures by Robert Asprin. I challenge you to find a funnier fantasy book. Extremely addictive, a fast and light read. Sarantine Mosaic by Guy Gavriel Kay is very good. Actually anything by GGK is awesome. If you don't mind a heavy fantasy book the the Farseer series by Robin Hobb is good. But I gotta warn you it's pretty heavy. My mind was kinda affected by it for a week after I read them. Oh and about Mercedes Lackey, her Obsidian trilogy was decent but her Valdemar series and lot of her other works are not. Nobody would accuse her of producing literary works, and this comes with a lot of love from a former fanboy. It's embarrassing to admit but a few years back I went through this phase where I read almost all her Valdemar books and a few of her other series. I still think she is an entertaining writer but just not in the league as Brandon,GGK and co.

I got hooked on books at 7 when I read Harry Potter. I then graduated to Diana Wynne Jones(who i think is highly underrated ). I then read the Inheritance cycle when I was 15. Then an year back I read ASOIAF and bamn I was addicted to fantasy, there was no looking back for me.I devoured Jim Butcher, David Eddings,Guy Gavriel Kay, Robin Hobb, Robert Asprin and of course Brandon Sanderson. I badly wanted to get into WoT, Malazan and Tad Williams. I don't know if it was just me but I just can't seem to get past the first 200 pages. Can't wait for November when Alloy of Law releases though I wish Brandon would just drop all his other commitments and finish Stormlight Archives ! Nah just kidding Brandon you take your time, but seriously I hope he doesn't go the Stephen King way eh la Dark Tower series.

Oh yeah ! I would absolutely kill for an ARC of Alloy of Law or any other of Brandon's books for that matter ! Brass burn damnation you...I soothe you to let me win the give away !
