Nightwatcher Boon/Bane (Game)
Sirce Luckwielder replied to killersquirrel59's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Granted, but your body temperature fluctuates more than other people's. When you are in cold or hot temperatures you are even more hot and more cold then everybody else feels. I wish that Brandon would commission the best artists and painters in the world to make the most amazing scenes from his books into glorious paintings that are massive and incredible. I also would like a curse that doesn't hamper people from enjoying my wish. -
Between this forum and [Brandon Sanderson Facts] I don't have enough upvotes to give!

When the Heralds leave Damnation, the Desolations come to Roshar. I was just taking the view of that planet, which also be the place of the Tranquiline Halls. From Rosharian terms, I probably should have eritten it as: Are you are Herald? Because with you I can brave any Desolation.
-
If I had a Breath for every time I thought of you I would be the God King. Are you a Herald? Because without you I am in a state of Desolation. Are you Roshar's significant number? Because you are a ten.

When the NSA tries to spy on Sanderson, all they find is RAFO cards. Brandon Sanderson secretly holds the Shard of Devotion. His books are tests of strength to find worthy 17th Sharders to invest. Brandon only dictates his books in High Imperial. Brandon once got cut off in traffic and wrote an instant bestseller. In his yearbook, people didn't look at pictures, they just read the spreads that he wrote. The seventh seal talked about in the Book of Revelation is Dragonsteel. Brandon can't wear a Mistcloak because if he turns too fast the billow causes a highstorm. If/when he sleeps, his snores play out Requiem for a Tower. Brandon's real job is solving world hunger and finding s renewable energy source. He just writes novels in his spare time as one of his "minor hobbies." The atomic bombs weren't actually made with Plutonium and Uranium, they were just some books that Brandon decided the world wasn't ready for. Brandon once sent a worldbuilding outline back into time. We know of it today as the U.S. Constitution. Brandon is not allowed within 25 miles of kings, presidents, and ministers because they get mad from the attention he draws.

Nightwatcher Boon/Bane (Game)
Sirce Luckwielder replied to killersquirrel59's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
That was pretty good. Granted. But only thin air, extremely thin air. You must be at an elevation of at least 25,000 feet to summon books. I wish that Brandon wrote a lengthy book saga set in a world that the Shard of Sarcasm invested. -
Have I fallen into a chasm or am I just lost in your eyes? Are you full of Breath, because you Awaken me? I must have gone on a journey, because I have reached my destination. Have you reached the Second Hieghtening or have you always had perfect tone?

I wonder what my curse from the Nightwatcher is. I can already see my boon.

Nightwatcher Boon/Bane (Game)
Sirce Luckwielder replied to killersquirrel59's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Granted. Each curse you cast upon someone else is cast upon yourself. I wish that I had a legitimate longbow with arrows that are all fitted to me, draw weight, length, material, everything. I can still shoot it and I have a place to shoot close by and away from people so I don't accidentally hit anybody. -

That *sniff* was beautiful. I applaud thee. Granted. You must eat it as cernals of grain. No bread or even mush. I wish for Reeses Pieces for all mankind. (Anybody get the reference?) -
Nightwatcher Boon/Bane (Game)
Sirce Luckwielder replied to killersquirrel59's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
I am totally down with that. It is always pressed and it looks amazing, so I am fine with that. Granted. He also "misspelled" the rest of your curse as: "Granted, but the curseless stone shamans have bound you to Urithiru and you cannot leave. I wish for Brandon to find a drought of the elixir of immortality. He can not die and until the Cosmere is complete. He also still writes good and his books don't take to long to write. And we (including me) can all read them. -
Nightwatcher Boon/Bane (Game)
Sirce Luckwielder replied to killersquirrel59's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Granted. You must spend one day out of each week as a goat. I wish that I had an extremely nice, black, indestructible, self-washing, wrinkle-free suit with coattails, a tux shirt with cuff links, and those awesome black and white dress shoes that people used to wear. I can still wear it too, whenever I want. -

In Firefight there was something cut from Obliteration to make the bomb that almost destroyed Babylar. I was wondering if all Epics had this thing that could be used to manipulate their powers. If so, we could have made a teleportation device from Sourcefield, or a shield generator from Prof. Or a reality generator from Megan. Since Megan's powers show different realities and can bring objects from other realities into ours (her clothes when she is reborn at the end of the book), I wonder if her powers can be taken to create a device that can manipulate reality. This could basically give you the ability to know what will happen. Maybe in another reality a heist by the good guys goes off ten minutes sooner and looking into that reality the bad guys get wind of the plan with the reality machine and are able to foil it. I am not sure if this is at all feasible, but I think it could potentially be a plot point. Since Megan's powers are more than the standard illusions created by other Epics, I am inclined to think that Brandon has more in store than her resurrections. Her reality will have some part to play in the next book, I think. Any thoughts from the masses on this?

Shardic Number Theory Revisited (Part One - Shards)
Sirce Luckwielder replied to Tempus's topic in Cosmere Discussion
This is just a theory, but I think the Skadrial number is actually 2, or rather the powers of 2. Each metal is bound to another in a pair. Iron is bound to Steel, Tin is bound to Pewter, etc. There are 16 metals (not including the god metals) 2^4=16. There are 8 (2^3) basic metals and 8 higher metals. Each of the base sixteen metals are placed into 4 (2^2) subgroups, such as temporal, physical, etc. Each of these 4 subgroups contains 4 metals. For example: the physical subgroup contains iron, steel, tin, and pewter. There are two Shards on Skadrial (Harmony still holds both). So far as we know, there are only two major continents on Skadrial (I am pretty sure of this anyway). In Alloy of Law people can have up to two powers: Feruchemy and Allomancy. All of this is fine and dandy, this can all just derived from Brandon's categorizing. However, when I saw that the Well of Ascension refills every 1024 years that clinched this idea for me. 2^10=1024. 10 is most definitely a key number in the cosmere, not just on Roshar. There are, after all, ten Shardworlds, ten dominances in the Final Empire, and ten great houses. I don't know if this is on purpose or if I am pulling at strings. To me though, it makes sense. I'm not sure if there are more instances of the number 2 in the books, since it has been a while since I read them. If anybody has anything else to support this I am happy to hear about it. Maybe in the number of soldiers in Elend's army or other things?- 13 replies

Granted. I works well as a very nice cutting board. I wish to be a full Feruchemist with lots of pure metalminds that are easily wearable. -
Which Brandon Character Would You Date?
Sirce Luckwielder replied to Chaos's topic in General Brandon Discussion
I understand the scene, and the characterization that plays through it. My adrenaline was pumping during it both for Shallan and her father and I felt a big connection at that point. He had to die and it had to be by Shallan's hand. That scene still freaked me out though. She had other means to kill her father, but I do realize that they way she did it allowed her to purge all of the emotion from the years and finally break free of her father. I suppose that I need to repent in my judgements of her. I have never been, and hope to never be, in a situation like hers. I have no excuse to judge her without having set foot in her shoes. Thank you Bort for reminding me of what I should be. -
That's cool. I hadn't been able to find if anybody asked it, so I thought that I had a major victory there. Darn.

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Sirce Luckwielder replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
When you "accidentally" build a new game based upon the SYMBOLS of Mistborn. True story, I did that, so far I have spent fortyish hours writing rules, constructing cards, and using Photoshop to make it look literally perfect. I showed it to him at Comic Con this last Saturday and he thought it was pretty cool. -
Which Brandon Character Would You Date?
Sirce Luckwielder replied to Chaos's topic in General Brandon Discussion
I would have gone for Shallan until I read the scene where that is kind of freaked me out. I get that she was psychologically damaged by her family situation. I get that her father was a man who deserved to die. But doing it in that way just makes me cringe. Now Imwould have to say that Serene seems perfect. She is funny, witty, smart, thinks outside the box, and will always keep me on my toes in the best of ways. -
Was Hoid confirmed to be that guy in Alloy of Law or was I asking an already confirmed question? Anti-investiture is my favorite thing to think about in the cosmere. There are so many things that we don't know about it and what it can do. Who made it, what happens when it is combined, and is there an anti-investiture for every magic system are all great questions. If the Shadowlight in the Black Sphere is an anti-investiture of Stormlight, then there is more than one anti-investiture on Roshar. Which means that there is also an anti-investiture for every magic system on planets like Elantris that have one for each land mass. I wonder how anti-investiture applies to something that is non-physical like an Aon. There are just so many good questions that come from anti-investiture. I can't wait to find out more about it.

Cool, thanks a lot everybody. That is very helpful.

I just made an account today, but I have been reading 17th Shard for a long time. Way to go everybody and network and theorize the heck out of the cosmere. Bravo! Even though I have already posted a few times, I have a few questions on the more mundane aspects of the website: How do I add hyperlinks to my posts? How do I add pictures to my posts? How do I quote multiple posts or part of another post? How do I make spoiler tags? Sorry if these sre painfully easy to answer and they can be found somewhere else, I just haven't been able to find it as of yet. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I was wondering, if you used a Hemalurgic spike to give a full-blooded skaa (no noble heritage) a Metalurgic power, would he be able to pass that down to his descendants? Hemalurgy affects the blood and the person as a whole, physically changing who and what they are, so would it be theoretically possible? Any thoughts?
