The New Ending To Kaladin Szeth Fight
Kaladin al'Thor replied to Sasukerinnegan's topic in Stormlight Archive
I dont know if I agree with you completely on this point. I have a feeling Hobber will walk agian. -
Wow that took a long time to catch up on this post. How did I not know about this post??!?!?? Being the one who asked Brandon about Adolin's Blade? I personally think Dalinar will be given the Honor blade, who else would Kaladin trust to hold it? Plus Dalinar's spren not being willing to be a shard for him, it fits. We also know that a surge binder can hold the Honor blade without hearing screams because it is not a dead spren. You two brought up awesome points that I never considered. Mostly when I figured that his blade was previously an ED's I thought that Adolin had a tendency to "remember" those that may be forgotten by others so it might fit. Also I believe Brandon has said that the oaths are not exactly the same person to person even within the same order. It's more of the idea you convey. Adolin's 2nd oath can be different than Lift's. If you think about it Adolin truly does fit as an ED. Yea he could fit inother orders but to me they are just as much if not more of a stretch as ED. I didnt think that Adolin would become a KR at all, I feel that he is interesting enough that he didn't need to bond a spren, but on my last re-read a few weeks ago I noticed some interesting wording. Right before he lunges at Sadeas, it says something along the lines of" Something inside of Adolin snapped." The snapping is what was really needed for a spren to fill the holes(thats what she said, sorry). I do think that he will somehow find a way to revive his spren more than ever thanks to all of your comments! I love being able to get on here and read the ideas of people who are so much more intelligent than I am!! More great ideas! Sorry I forgot why I specifically quoted you. Just from my understanding, and I might be mistaken, just because Szeth and Eshonai get their own flashback sequences does not mean they will become KR. Brandon said that each order will have a focused book. and that 10 characters will have a flashback sequence. I dont believe he said that they would line up like the first two have or that they would be a KR. Also a fun tidbit, they also don't have to be alive in the main plot in the book their flashbacks take place. NO ONE IS SAFE! It has been addressed but I quoted you to say that he did not discard HIS blade, it was Dalinar's. and that Adolin is not in line to have his own book. i am fairly certain the 10 books have been confirmed, correct me if i am wrong. 1- Kal 2-Shallan 3-5 Dalinar, Eshonai, Szeth(unknown order at the moment) 6-10 Jasnah, Renarin, Lift, Shalash, Taln(or who we assume is Taln) Thanks for all the awesome posts on this thread! I am re-reading WoK at the moment looking for more signs of this and will pay more attention when I get to WoR.

I Need Help Fellow Sanderson Fanatics!
Kaladin al'Thor replied to Kaladin al'Thor's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Thanks for all of your responses! So he has finished Well and will be moving on to book 3 this weekend. He still thinks Brandon makes a lot of mistakes with his writing. When he finishes I am going to talk to him about what he didnt like and write down specifics so I can give you guys better details. You were right Curiosity, I am super enthusiastic about Brandon's books but I wasnt pestering him. But yea, I think maybe because of my enthusiasm he was let down because he expected more. I will get back to you guys after I talk to him after he finishes the series. At least he didnt just stop, maybe there is hope to get him to read WoK after all!- 31 replies

I Need Help Fellow Sanderson Fanatics!
Kaladin al'Thor replied to Kaladin al'Thor's topic in General Brandon Discussion
It wasn't even so much that he thought the book was bad, he said the story is mildly entertaining. But he said he constantly found things that he generally flags a bad author. The eye tatoos being described 5 times in ten minutes of reading at the beginning was one thing I rememeber him saying. There were others, i dont rememeber all of them. Not really caring about the characters. Them being "cartoonish". Constantly explaining what the characters were thinking instead of leaving him to come to that conclusion on his own by their actions was another. umm he also said that the characters come to conclusions that don't make sense. Like he understands how the readers would come to the conclusion but not the characters in the books. He said lots of things, like I said, he is a lot smarter than me so I just didnt know what to say. I was just baffled. I understand that not everyone will like the books I like, but to say he is a bad writer.. it caught me off guard. I thnk Brandon is about as good as you can get!- 31 replies

So hi, this is my first new topic that I have posted. I'm a huge Brandon Sanderson fan. I have read everything that he has released and will continue to do so until I am an old man. I have gotten at least 20 different people into Brandon's work so far. I basically recoommend him to everyone I talk to regularly. My strategy is to talk a lot about his books and slowly get them to agree to red one of them. I start them off with Mistborn and move them on to The Stormlight Archive (It's a lot harder to get people to commit to a 1000 page book without being a fan). So recently, I got a new job and I have been working my strategy on the guy who sits next to me. I got him to start Mistborn. This is what is baffling me, he didnt love it and he thinks that Brandon is a bad writer. Not describing enough of the world, not cring about the characters, he named several other things. This is just crazy to me!!! Mistborn was amazing! It got Harriet to have him finish WoT! So this guy, he is way way way smarter than I am. He talks about a lot of things that are over my head, he's like a literary critic! So what can I do to defend my favorite author? What can I tell him about the improvements Brandon has made as a writer to get him to read Way of Kings? I'm just not smart enough to debate with him, i need help! Thanks for anyone who takes the time to read my pointless post.

I think it would be pretty sweet if Adolin did become an Edgedancer. I don't think it will happen though, I feel like Adolin is interesting enough that he doesnt need to bond a spren. Also how many Kholin Radiants do we need? haha!
-
Okay so sorry it took me so long to find the time to post this but I was at the early release party signing and I asked a question about WoR: Me- So I noticed during my last read through of WoR that when Adolin summoned his blade, it formed from mist in the shape of vines. Does this mean that the Radiant that the blade was originally bonded to was an Edgedancer? Brandon- Yes, yes it does. (He also had a huge mischievous smile) Me- So I was wondering, if Adolin were to make the same exact oaths, could the Shardblade be revived? Brandon- Something more would have to happen. Me- So it could happen if something else also happened? Brandon- Yes. I don't remember the wording exactly but that's close. I didn't think to ask what that "more" is but I'm sure he would have just RAFO'd me. Anyways, those were my questions. I don't think they've been asked before.
