  1. So I have been wondering lately, how we are going to fill some of the holes in the back stories we have seen so far. In particular, I'm looking at some of Kaladin's relationships which are mentioned in both WOK AND WOR, but are not explored in his flashback sequences. These would include Tarah(a possible lost love), Tukks and the Takers, Goshel and the slave escapes, etc. I am of the belief that most if not all of these characters are dead and will probably not make an appearance in coming books. Also I can,t imagine whose flashback scenes would intersect with these events. Other back story holes I would be interested in learning more about are:- Why Shallan's mother wanted her dead and who her mysterious friend was. How did Szeth come to be in the employ of the Parshendi and how did taravangian end up with his oathstone. Why does Jasnah feel she is responsible for Gavilar's assassination. What is Gavilar's, black stone and where did it come from There are many others, and I wonder how Brandon will get back to them.
  2. I'm with you Moogle, especially those last 100 odd pages in WOK. For me, the pacing was better also, with the bridge 4 storyline holding things together. Of course, I loved WOR as we'll, but it felt like it had a little too much going on at times I've seen many comments saying WOK was too slow, but it just worked for me.
  3. Hoid is also referred to in TES as a court jester(I think), but doesn't appear on screen. He initially had been written in by name, but Brandon removed him in the final draft. Also, I don't know much about Khriss, having not read any of the unpublished works, but I haven't seen him/her in any of the published books. I'm reasonably sure he/she is the recipient of Hoid's letter, and would be capable of worldhopping, but not sure if we can confirm as yet.
  4. Thank you all for the warm welcome, I'll pass on the sweets though, I've always preferred the savoury snacks. WOK is still my favourite, though they are all awesome and I eagerly await more. Kaladin would be my favourite character, but I would love to have a few ales with Rock and Lopen. I reckon I'd wet myself laughing
  5. The rescue of Dalinar's army was probably my absolute favourite moment in any book ever. I also loved Kaladin's early army days, and when Dalinar traded his Shardblade for the bridge crews was so unexpected and Shallan calling out Jasnah not needing a soul caster..............dammit I loved the whole thing!!!!!
  6. I discovered Brandon's work by accident a few years ago when I picked up WOK before a flight,(it was the largest book on the shelf). The climax of that book gave me goosebumps, something very few books have been able to do, and I have since become obsessed with all things Cosmere. I'ts nice to know I'm not the only one.
