  1. I just realized that I won't be on tomorrow, so I should probably vote today so I don't make myself into a liar. So I although I don't have a ton of stuff to go off of, I'll vote on Paranoid King. His quick vote on Rand still seems kinda suspicious, even though he did take it off and clarify later. It could just be an attempt to cover his mistake. Or he could just be innocent. In which case, I do apologize, but I do want to vote and you're the person who I think could do it. Razor Shard noticed a flicker of movement from the edge of his eye as he rounded a corner around the foalcare center. Suddenly wary, he kept track of what it was and it soon revealed itself to be a pegasus, soaring down the streets close to head level, head swiveling as though they were looking for something. Or maybe it was a changeling disguised as a pegasus, and it was looking for a someone. Holding his breath, he made his way to the next corner, and timing it properly, leaped out just as the strange pegasus flew by, crashing into them and sending both into a tumble along the ground, resulting in them both fetching up against the wooden edge of a nearby house. After taking a moment to recover, Razor Shard made his way to his hooves and stared down the suspicious character, who looked like a female Pegasus with a cream colored coat and glittering purple hair. "What are you doing, who are you searching for? Do you work for Chrysalis? Talk!" He glowered down, before recognizing the canvas gripped tightly in her hooves, held protectively so it didn't break or rip in the tumble. He immediately deflated. "Oh horsefeathers I'm sorry. Sorrysorrysorry-" Still apologizing, he held grabbed her hoof with his own and yanked her onto her feet before making a quick inspection. She didn't seem too injured, but the very fact that he had attacked a pony who had probably seen him next to her painting made him positively mortified. "-rrysorrysorry." He finally took a deep breath before blurting out what his still partially panicked mind could think of. "I'll make it up to you, just say whatever you need and I'll do it!" He clapped a hoof to his chest and tried to show his commitment. "And while I'm not that bright and have issues, including unprovoked assault with how things are going, Razor Shard does not go back on his word." He tried to make a sort of bow, but wasn't quite sure he'd pulled it off. "Please let me make it up to you, I'll just feel awful until I can!"
  2. Razor Shard had found the strange new pony with his hoofs over his eyes; getting schooled at his own shell game by Princely Beggar, who wore a smug grin as he pointed out the correct hiding place of the token, including once when it had been tossed into the river. Somehow. Afterwards Razor Shard took his time asking the conniving pony about his reasons for being in ponyville, accompanied by unsubtle unsheathing and resheathing of the small spike in the harness. He was able to discover that the money-grubbing pony had wandered into town "on business." Most likely that meant he had been chased out of the last town he had been in by the residents and was looking for a new mark. After it seemed like he truly didn't have any malicious intentions of kidnapping towards the ponies of Ponyville, he moved onto the next topic. About what would he happen if he found him attempting to scam the ponies here once more. While the two talked, Razor Shard idly stabbed the tree nearby a few times with the spike. Then drew a smiley face in the bark. Then stabbed it deep enough that it took him a moment to work his hoof free. By the time he left, he was satisfied that the greedy pony had gotten the general idea. There were visual aids. He would still keep an eye on him, of course. His explanation filled in the holes of his appearance, but they could still be lies, an attempt to save face. A little more investigation couldn't hurt... But until then, it didn't seem like there was much more for Razor Shard to do. The accusations had calmed down, and now it seemed that most ponies were simply suspicious, instead of full out panicking. As Razor Shard passed through the main plaza where the Princess had given the speech that caused so much trouble, he noticed a painting, apparently abandoned in the center of plaza, depicting the moment the declaration had set in. Wide eyes, suspicious looks, screaming, calmness, and... had that pony fainted? It seemed accurate, and drawn in a way that showed a dedication to the artist's work. He would have told the artist themselves if he could, but they didn't seem to be anywhere nearby. He wandered back to his smithy and began to prepare to get things ready to close. He doubted anyone would be coming that day. So it seems like things have calmed down somewhat now, with vote retractions and less accusations. But still no one pony who seems suspicious. At least that I can tell. Right now it's a bit more of a stalling game, seeing what happens. But I would advocate people to keep replying to the thread and be active. It'll help you in the game, and help other people figure out their suspicions. The biggest new development is PK's post, which explained what I had already assumed he meant, so that's really nothing new to me. I do want to get things moving in the game though, so I'm going to ask @Seonid and @Quiver to get on and share some more if they can. Seonid had a quick post at the beginning that I'd like to hear more about, and Quiver had a really cool patch of RP, but no actual comments on the game. Still no votes, since I'm not sure those would help, but I would like to hear your guys' thoughts.
  3. I'm new? First game I played was QF 9 (If I remember correctly.) I've been here for about 2 years. So I think I'm probably past the new phase by now, although it's always nice to be called young. My reasoning was wild speculation, and I knew it when I posted it. And is this the speculation of "or something more nefarious?" because I think that's all I did against you. Keep in mind that what my pony does in RP and what I say outside it are different. In my RP Razor Shard was concerned about causing a panic during a crisis, which doesn't help anyone. My views of your actions are not the same. And then I defended you slightly afterwards. I'm not trying to poke fingers or such, just saying what I see. And so far I'm seeing lots of votes without too much evidence. Thank you for clarifying that it was a poke vote though, because otherwise actual votes tend to be taken quite a bit more seriously. Last comment is that I do plan to vote, but we still have over a day to do so. So why try and rush it and do it now? I'll take my time and actually vote when I have suspicion or time is about to end. Otherwise I'll communicate and show my suspicions through words. Razor Shard was finally able to catch up to the panicking pony and finally recognized him as Schitzo, he'd heard that he was a hypochondriac, so he probably did believe there was some kind of sickness going around, and was honestly trying to help. Mentally rolling his eyes, Razor Shard sauntered over and put a hoof on his back. "Hey Schitzo, right?" Without waiting for a reply he continued. "So I've heard that there's a disease going around, and it might be contagious. But we don't know that for sure yet, and there are colts and foals that could start to get scared if there's word of a dangerous disease going around. So go ahead and get yourself checked out, then maybe do what you can to help people. Just don't go spreading it around so quickly, alright?" Giving him a pat on the flank, Razor Shard moved on back the way he had come. Now that he knew the panic wasn't intentional, he could focus on the next target. The newcomer. Maybe he'd see if he'd heard anything from outside of Ponyville. And possibly warn him away from the town. Between the elements, the changelings, and the slightly... odd people, there was no reason for someone to be coming in. Of course the people already here would be staying. It might be boring and populated by weirdos, but it was their home. And where they kept all their stuff.
  4. Both of those last votes are actually in Brown, not Red. Do they still count as votes, or are they closer to showing suspicion and it's just a new thing I missed.
  5. Or maybe he just doesn't see helpfulness as being an evil trait? Saying that he gave good advice that didn't make him feel like an eliminator means that he himself is an eliminator? Why is everyone so quick to accuse people this game? I get that we tend to want a Day 1 lynch, and there's not a lot of evidence, but seriously, it's really kinda flimsy. And it's a MR game, not a QF, so we have more time before the rollover. While trying to track down the crazypony, Razor Shard noticed a pony with a grin far too wide slamming his head against a tree, while Elder Berry stood behind him confused. He hoped the possibly insane pony wasn't trying to scam the poor dear. Her mare had died gone into the great pink beyond a few years back, and she hadn't quite recovered from the nasty sickness that had come about shortly afterwards. She wasn't really his friend, but that didn't mean he was willing to simply allow her to be swindled if he could help it. He mentally catalogued the new pony's cutie mark and put him down under "investigate later." Whether he was a con man, a lawyer, a changeling, a real-estater, or whatever, he wasn't needed in the town. And a new pony coming into town at the same time the elements of Harmony were announced to be hidden inside it? A little too suspicious for Razor Shard's tastes. But he would deal with that in time. First he had to have a discussion with a certain panicking pony.
  6. But your logic for picking out Hemalurgic Headshot doesn't make any sense! I posted shortly after him and right before you, and also had no analysis or discussion! So why pick him instead of me? Was it a random pick or... something more nefarious Razor Shard looked up as a pony galloped by, yelling about something called donkeypox and accusing some poor pony with no eyes of having it. The pony in question looked perfectly fine to Razor Shard, albeit a little annoyed and confused, but that was perfectly allowable given the circumstances. Was the strange pony trying to incite trouble? Maybe distract ponies from the more pressing concerns of the changelings? Razor Shard decided to wander over and have a little... talk... with him. Maybe get some things cleared up. He casually slipped a small spike into his hoof harness just in case things got dangerous before he began trotting off after the panicking pony. And hay, a little more information couldn't hurt. Much.
  7. Hoofs up if you listened to the MLP theme song while reading that excellent writeup! Razor Shard stood there in the square, ignoring the ponies milling about and panicking, of all the things to do. He was thinking about what the Princess had said. Changelings have been infiltrating our society, we don't know for how long. But having a weapon capable of threatening ponies would be invaluable for their army. Could they be the ones that took my father? He looked around at the crowd, twitching his eyes to look from person to person without moving his head. Any one of them could be an infiltrator. But there was no way to tell for now. He backed out of the square and slowly headed back to his humble shop, nodding and smiling to ponies he passed, but seething in outrage inwardly that any one of them could be planning to kidnap him or someone else in the town. He didn't really have friends, but that doesn't mean he would be willing to let an innocent pony suffer. Arriving at his destination, Razor Shard used his teeth to pick up a pair of pliers and place a glowing hot chunk of metal onto the anvil. It was dripping slightly, as he'd left it for a little too long to hear the Princess' announcement, but he ignored the small splatters of overheated metal as he began to pound on the ingot with a hammer inserted into a specialized harness on his right hoof. A swing that may have been too enthusiastic flattened a disk in the center of the ingot down about half an inch. Sighing, Razor Shard prepared to place the ingot back into the fire and try and buff the mistake out. Blacksmithing was no place for misplaced aggression. But he couldn't restrain a thin smile at the thought of another pony, the ones who kidnapped his father, underneath the heavy blow. If the changelings had been a part of it, or even if it was merely a possibility, there was still only one solution. He'd just have to hunt them all down and find out. Rules Clarification!: If a changeling kidnaps a pony, do they know if they've kidnapped an element of Harmony or not? Or do they just have to keep on kidnapping ponies until you say the game ends. Just curious.
  8. Note to self: Apparently BrightnessRadiant enjoys witnessing extreme psychotic breakdowns. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Unless it's shown it a light that makes it look more like a positive character trait and less like something to be incredibly wary of. So still on the fence about it. And is it just me, or has MLP: FiM's art style not changed at all over the years? I guess it's pretty staple by this point, but I'm still kinda surprised to not see any changes in a series this long-running. But maybe it has and I just haven't noticed it? I guess the castle guards look individual now...
  9. Please note, I have a problem with seeing spoiler boxes and reflexively clicking them. I spoiled the end of Alcatraz 5 three months early due to that. So if you want to share opinions in a PM or something, that would be appreciated, since I haven't seen The Flash yet and if I do at some point I'd rather not have accidentally ruined it for myself. Thank you for your (hopeful) co-operation.
  10. I did. Couldn't figure out how to include the picture in the post. And even with it, it's not about having the pony picture, it's about how awesome they are at drawing! When I was younger, I spent days practicing drawing a mouse. I was so proud of myself when someone could recognize it was a mouse. I was 12. My skills have almost deteriorated since then. So thank you guys for being such good artists, because someone around here has to do it, and we're all doomed it it was up to me.
  11. Is this about BrightnessRadiant? If so then I ask that question as well! And if the answer is that marriage is possible, I will take steps! You won her from me only because I died last time, and I won't give her up so easily! I will fight for her love if I have to! And my pony has a sword. Think about that.
  12. So I can have the sword... I just can't kill anyone with it? That works for me! A mysterious father disappearance could work as well, now I'm just searching for the "kidnapper" as well as for any news of my father, so a possible other RP option. You're awesome man!
  13. Fine then. I can make it work. It's a stun baton then. Non-lethal and all. Just hurts a lot. And it wouldn't be violent anyway. Just quick decapitation. Not violent at all. Thanks though, it means a lot to have a GM willing to improvise on the fly for stuff like that.
  14. I'm not really into MLP as much as some of you bronies, but I can't pass up a fun game like this! (Also QF23 just ended so I'm still riding on the high from that one. Go El!) Name: Razor Shard Type: Earth Pony Cutie Mark: A black silhouette of a sword with the blade broken off Cosmetic Role: Not only was Razor Shard the first pony to invent the sword, (an actual weapon) he has also figured out how to use one by strapping it to a harness on his foreleg. Sadly his father was murdered by the same weapon he created, before it was stolen by the murderer. He now works as a blacksmith and keeps his secret hidden while watching for any hints of other ponies with bladed weapons... Acts kindly but has a core of cold steel in him that emerges when he thinks about his father's death and his awaiting vengeance. Most of his posts will have hidden agendas related to finding the killer. Has brown eyes, a dark brown coat, and a black mane and tail. P.S. GM. If you could add something related to the killer in the game, possibly an NPC or something, that he could look for, that would be really cool. Or if one of the eliminators wouldn't mind taking upon them the role of the murderer, that would help with RPing and possibly give you an advantage.
  15. Wow. Everyone hates me all of a sudden. ... It's Beautiful! I'm gonna tear up, guys. Honestly yes, the coloring was a mistake. I looked at the rules because I'd forgotten it said my faction at the top of the PM, which I already had open. I had been chatting with Joe over some stuff previously as well, so I would have had to scroll up and that's just so hard. (You know, as opposed to opening a new tab and navigating to the QF23 page from there.) So yeah, I'm totally innocent. I have done nothing wrong. Except for maybe have killed a spider. Does that count? I think that Yitzi was contributing quite a bit at the beginning, so I'm not too worried about that. I am somewhat leery of... people. (I literally sat here for 5 minutes trying to think of suspicions. I couldn't think of any solid ones.) But I do want to help kill someone as well... decisions, decisions. Lopen seemed rather helpful. Maybe too helpful... (Also if nobody else votes for him, which seems unlikely, then I haven't helped kill someone.) I will admit that part of the reason as well is that he hopped on the bandwagon against me, far enough that it doesn't seem like he started it, but close enough to it so it doesn't seem like he's trying to sneak a vote on the kill at the last second. I'm probably biased though. IPN: (Innocent Person Note) Due to a writing conference in the next few days, I will be inactive for the rest of the day, and probably will only be able to post once on Friday morning and once on Saturday morning.
  16. So I'm up in Utah for the next few days, and am going to be headed to the LDStorymakers Conference on the 11th, 12th, and 13th. I started this thread to see if I could find other people who were going to be attending as well. It is an event that you have to pay for in advance, you can't just show up. But I was curious about other possible aspiring writers that I might bump into there, more as a casual thing. So if you're attending (or want to know more information) reply and say what you're looking forward to the most. The Official Website: http://ldstorymakersconference.com/
  17. And on a high shelf, a small furry rodent gazed on with dark eyes. A click of his fingers, and an inferno burst into life. And Squirrelmort watched the world burn. The annoying spider that had been asking about cheese curled up in a ball, startled by the thead's disintegration. The orange fuzzball pointed and laughed. Oh yeah, there were weird Tallmanthings below, but they were beneath his notice.
  18. Well if we do try to go for a multi-kill, (bonus points!) we run the danger of vote manipulation being used to still only kill one person, as well as possibly killing someone useful. The day 1 lynch is handy do find out where people stand and how they might play, as well as what kind of people they go after. I feel we can accomplish that equally well with a single kill as we might a bigger one. Edit: I could go back and edit in red if you really want me to, Drought. Aren't I just magnanimous?
  19. I do agree with a day 1 lynch as well. Killing people is always helpful! In a completely platonic non-evil way, of course. But at the same time, I don't want to be the guy who his first word of the game is a vote. Which I almost did. And I actually did in a game once. I think I died in the second cycle on that one. Is it? One sec. *Goes and actually reads the rules* Looks like it's Free-Worlder. Ups. P.S. When I say "read the rules," I mean skim them for the proper term. I haven't actually read them yet. That's a librarian thing to do. And squirrels can't read. Obviously. Edit: Apologies for the double post. I thought the first one was between Drought and Yitzi. Not intentional, and I'll try to keep from repeating it.
  20. Really? I had no idea! I thought the handy-dandy color coding would handle everything. Here, let me fix that. Hushlander. Problem solved! Edit: Freelander, sorry.
  21. I would like to start this off by saying that I am a Hushlander, and am not evil. Sure, maybe I have a taste for the occasional soul of a walnut, but nothing exactly nefarious. Just squirrelly. Also that I love all of you and will trust you with few reserves. Who needs to obey the GM, right?
