Long Game 10: A Game of Shards
Sarcomere replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I'm retracting my vote on Meta. As I realize that I'm very suspicious and I think a tie would only continue suspicions on both myself and Winter (who I think just might be good. Course, I might be biased because she took her vote off from me.), if it looks like there's going to be a tie at 9:45, I'll be voting for myself in the interests of avoiding further time and votes wasted on lynching me.- 929 replies

Long Game 10: A Game of Shards
Sarcomere replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Funny, that. Isn't that what's happening with poke votes? There is no solid evidence for lynching anyone. Everything that we know right now, or suspect right now, is based on what other people have said. I'll admit my reasoning is a bit weak (okay, fine--incredibly weak) but I figured it's better to put thoughts out in the open and see what happens than to keep them secret. If people react strangely, or suspiciously, then it would have been a good move. If not, at least I tried. I found Meta to be derisive of my reasoning, which I can understand. But Meta has always come across to me as level-headed and considerate. There was definitely an amount of sarcasm in Meta's post that I didn't think was very characteristic. Of course, I might be overanalyzing this. And if so, I'll apologize in advance to Meta. I honestly didn't think that my post was such a terrible idea to merit...this. (I do realize this was a joke, but was I the only one who took a second look at Joe's "don't trust meta" tag?)- 929 replies

Long Game 10: A Game of Shards
Sarcomere replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Well, I'll vote for Meta. Meta would be a dangerous foe as an eliminator, since he's had experience running the game. He probably knows very well now how eliminators stay out of suspicion. Even if he's innocent, I feel that Meta still has a lot of influence and that could end up being extremely bad if Meta trusted the wrong person. I wouldn't want a repeat of what happened last game, where the extremely influential Wilson fully trusted an eliminator. And for what it's worth, I trust Aonar.- 929 replies

I'm joining! Scree is a dignified collector of shiny objects. Like the ring on that portly gentleman's finger, for instance. Or the golden tapestries that- ahem- used to hang in the market square. Scree likes to brag about her accomplishments- The Mysterious Doorknob Disappearance was her doing, she can unlock (most) locks (as long as she has the keys to match), and she's never died even once, which is more than can be said for the pile of corpses in that dark alleyway.- 929 replies

Anniversary Game: In the Re-Wake of the Koloss
Sarcomere replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
This may be another of my brilliantly "bad" ideas, but I'm going to post my top suspicion right now. It shouldn't affect who gets killed by the Spiked, because I'm fairly certain he was in league with Riew at one point and therefore is Spiked. I want to get my ideas out in the open in case I die. Unodus's vote not being counted is a fairly recent development, and it's possible that the Spiked are trying to throw us off with this move. Or they really could have just revealed one of their own. Doubtful, but possible. But I think it's much more likely that dowanx is Spiked, so I'm preemptively voting again... dowanx. I'd appreciate it if all Villagers could all pile our votes on him tomorrow to ensure a lynch like we did last cycle. -

Well, I don't think there's much else for it but to try and do what I suggested in the last Night Cycle. If anyone has any other ideas or objections, post it or PM me. Or both. Riew. -
Anniversary Game: In the Re-Wake of the Koloss

And there it is again. Responses were spaced out this time, perhaps, but this bothers me. This feels staged. I'm sorry, but I'm not inclined to believe in coincidences. Perhaps I'm grasping at straws, but straws are all we have now. I'd like all active Villagers to vote for and lynch Weiry tomorrow. I say this now because I might be dead tomorrow and what I say now will almost certainly kill me. I am the Village Soother who was Seeked by Aralis. I Soothed Riew yesterday, and received a confirmation that my Soothing was indeed recorded. Yet Riew's vote didn't change at all. Riew had been Smoked. And I have it on good authority that Newan's coppercloud was off last night. I trust Newan that he is a Village Smoker as he says. Three innocent Village Smokers accounted for. So Riew was Smoked last night, and Newan didn't smoke him. There is a fourth Smoker. And according to probability, the fourth Smoker is likely Spiked. Riew may either be the Spiked Smoker, or have been protected by this Smoker. Either way, I find that Riew is the likeliest Spiked right now. Please lynch Riew. Make a bandwagon. Blame me if that's what it takes. I want inevitability. I want to put something in motion that the Spiked will have no way of stopping or influencing even if they know exactly what our plans are. So I'm going to preemptively vote: Riew. I hope you can and will do the same. -

Well, Newan's convinced me. And if he truly is the Village Smoker he claims to be and Peng is also the Villager that I believe he is, then we're incredibly lucky that Pifferdoo's vote didn't go through and that this was a tie. I'm amending my first statement of the cycle: This could be good. As good as a game can be with zero Spiked deaths by the sixth cycle, at least. Which isn't very good, but still. -

Newan, Weiry, dowanx. We put people we suspect are Spiked in bold, right? Yes, Newan, I bandwagoned. I was looking for a person with more votes on them to suspect, because I did not want to deal with voting manipulation. But other suspicions cropped up as a result of my unexplained vote, so I'm calling it justified in a "the end justifies the means" kind of way. I believe that Weiry and dowanx are Spiked as well. Weiry posted a vote for Peng at 4:28, and dowanx did the same just two minutes later, at 4:30. Coincidence, perhaps. But if they were Spiked, it would make sense. They could be talking to each other in their Spiked group, and taking action based on what they said, as soon as they decided on a course of action. And Newan being Spiked makes even more sense. Weiry's and dowanx's votes would not only implicate Peng, whom I believe to be innocent, but they would also spare one of their own Spiked (Newan) from being lynched. From what I've gathered, this is the first Sanderson Elimination game both Weiry and dowanx have been involved in. This mistake of theirs makes sense, especially since they're new players. Of course, you might think that there's just no way that the Spiked would even accidentally implicate themselves in this way. However, my judgement is that the Spiked have a HUGE lead right now. If you need proof that the Spiked are in the lead, take a look at the player list. I believe the Spiked are more likely to make slip-ups based on overconfidence. I'm reiterating my vote. Newan. -

...Sorry for suspecting you so much, Ostrich. Rest in peace. Losing the Mistborn is bad. Unless we have another one somewhere, which I doubt. It looks like a Tineye listed some people--suspects? I'm going to assume that the Tineye is in league with the Coinshot, because of the mention that "dead men tell no tales." Since any Coinshot is likely a Villager since the Spiked probably would have been using their coinshot EVERY night if they had one, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that I believe this Tineye is a Villager too, and should therefore be accorded some measure of trust. This list of people is probably a good place as any to start, then. Wyrm. I find all the vote manipulation last cycle suspicious, especially the mainpulations that didn't seem to do so much... I remember that your vote got Soothed, to apparently zero overall effect. I feel like this could be a Spiked strategy- to make it seem like their own people are victims. -

Sarcomere replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I vote for Ostrich (for the third time). Third time's the charm, right? I'll admit that I really do want to see him lynched. I feel like he just hasn't given satisfactory reasons for some of his actions. On Day 2, I retracted my vote for Ostrich because Ash said that Eliminators don't kill a player just because that player suspected one of their own. Ash's words: "@ spiked killing Kas b/c he was suspicious of ostrich: No. No and no. That's exactly what eliminators don't do. Public suspicions of spiked don't lead to killings like that. It puts too much suspicion on those listed." (I should probably figure out how to quote things.) I thought about that. My conclusion is that we can't assume everyone on the dead people's suspect lists are innocent, either. If we are so willing and set in our ways to assign innocence to dead people's suspects, maybe the spiked found that a good strategy--killing players who suspected their own. -

Well, for now I'll retract my vote against Ostrich (I'm not sure how to go back to old posts and edit for color). Ash made good sense. I'll refrain from voting this cycle, and see how things turn out before I make any further, possibly misguided, decisions. -
Anniversary Game: In the Re-Wake of the Koloss

Reeco was growing weary of these ridiculous townspeople mispronouncing his name. "IT'S NOT RECCO!" he wanted to scream. "IT'S REECO." But screaming would be bad for business, Reeco reflected, as he took another order and started mechanically kneading dough. Perhaps he was judging the townspeople a bit too harshly. After all, he couldn't expect their thick tongues to be able to do justice to the melodic vowels of his homeland. I'm voting for Ostrich again. I strongly suspect that Ostrich is Spiked. I questioned Ostrich's post early on Day 1 that suggested people who were falsely accused contact him and Winter Cloud. I'm also suspecting Winter Cloud, because Ostrich implied in his post that both of them were accused of being the same role. Why did they trust each other enough to share this information in the first place? They may both be Spiked. Later, Kas posted that my accusation had merit and that Wilson perhaps overlooked it. Ostrich never responded to our accusations and instead shifted attention away from himself when he voted for Eoldren. This leads me to believe that Ostrich is hiding something. Furthermore, last night, Kas put Ostrich on a list of people he suspected. As you all know, Kas was killed by the Spiked. I think that, for the Spiked, killing an experienced player and someone who suspected one of their members would be killing two birds with one stone. As to Araris's accusations against me: Why would I associate myself with Hero, already strongly suspected, if I didn't think that he was innocent? I also still feel that one of the main reasons Hero was targeted was because he chose not to vote early on. Well, Hero didn't vote on Day 1, yes. But a lot of people didn't vote on Day 1. I was convinced that Hero was just being voted for because he was the only one who was very vocal about not voting. Araris, you're putting me under suspicion for trusting somebody. As I seem to recall, Araris retracted his vote for Hero shortly after I posted reasons why I thought Hero was innocent. Why the sudden turnaround? -
Anniversary Game: In the Re-Wake of the Koloss
Sarcomere replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Well, I'm new to this all, and as a foreigner, Reeco's not used to the ways of 17thshardsfolk. I wanted to wait and get a clear idea about how this all worked. From what I've gathered, I believe Hero is innocent. Hero, in the beginning, chose not to vote for anybody. At the time, there truly was very little information to go off of. Also, casting any solid suspicion without much evidence to back you up at the very start of the game is almost a sure way to get yourself suspected as well. In fact, I did suspect Kas, if only because he was so quick to accuse. I don't see why Hero should be targeted any more than anyone else who hasn't voted. Also, Hero has adamantly stated again and again that he is not a Spiked without being prompted. I don't think the Spiked would be so quick to say they aren't spiked when they aren't even being suspected, especially this early in the game. They might say so if they were confronted, but not on their own volition. That being said, I'll be extremely wary of anyone who directly claims not to be a Spiked from now on. On that note, I vote for Ostrich. I'm wondering why he wanted people who were "falsely accused" to contact him- almost as if he wanted to narrow down roles himself? -

Reeco regarded the obnoxious old man- his name was apparently Aralis -from behind the counter he had fashioned into a makeshift pizza station. Satrams had been nervous about letting Reeco take up residence in his tavern as a pizza-monger, at first. That was until Reeco suggested that Satrams should try giving the strange new food a taste test. Maybe Satrams wouldn't have looked quite so nervous if Reeco hadn't brought out his pizza cutter. Even now, everyone seemed to suspect that the pizza cutter had a deeper, darker, bloodier purpose and instinctively shied away from it. Reeco still wasn't sure if his gratuitous room and board was a result of his culinary prowess or of the threat Satrams perceived to his life. No one in Tyrian Falls seemed to be familiar with pizza, but it had quickly become a well-liked novelty in the area despite the flinching whenever Reeco brought out his pizza cutter. Yet there was someone who dared call it "disgusting." A direct challenge to Reeco's pride. Was that a smirk he saw? Reeco rolled up his sleeves. Time to bring out the very best in his repertoire. The Great Saucy Extravaganza should do it, he thought. There was no way Aralis could fail to acknowledge the brilliance of this masterpiece. -
Definitely the Way of Kings. There's just something about being introduced into a brand-new world that has such a great story and so much potential that gets to me.

If it's not too late, I'll be Reeco. He made pizza for a living before his old town got conquered by mysterious hooded figures, so he decided to move over to Tyrian Falls to try and build up a new life. A foreigner from a faraway place as he was, however, he was rather unaware of the danger... -
Ooh. That's a difficult question. I like all of them, but in the end I'd have to say Aon Dor. Is that what it's called? Elantris was one of the first books from Sanderson that I've ever read, so I have to give it some credit for drawing me into all his other books. I should also give credit to the person who introduced me to his books in the first place. Oh, and thanks for the cookie. I like cookies.

. So I see you've caught on to my nefarious plan to shroud myself in vagueness and mystery! Props to you.

Cool header design? Everything I'll ever need to know about the Cosmere? I'm liking this place already. But where are my manners? Allow me introduce myself. I've read just about everything Brandon Sanderson's written- the Rithmatist, Elantris, Mistborn, WoK, WoR, you get the idea. I am relatively young by old people's standards, and my crowning achievement is an EXACTLY eight-minute mile time: 8:00:03. I attribute the extra :03 to stopwatch clicking delay. Also, I like to begin paragraphs with questions and exclamations. So hi! Nice to meetcha.
