  1. On the basis that Syl needs Kaladin to be "alive", I'll vote for Adolin on the basis that vasher & nightblood were considered separate because they were both contestants.
  2. Nightblood vs Obliteration is going to be interesting... XD I'll vote Vasher, since I don't know too much about Dilaf. Not to mention, he did defeat one of the greatest swordmen of his time, he could try using that same trick again... :B
  3. If TLR compounded zinc, he could calculate Obliterations weakness within a fraction of a second, right? Just sayin... :B
  4. Guadium lowered the telescope. On nights like this, when the mist and the ash clouds were thinnest, it was possible to make out the faint glimmer of constellations with tin-enhanced eyes. They fascinated Guadium, the overarching lights- smothered by fog. His grandfather had told stories of strange people who worshiped the stars, believing they were a divinity who minded over them. Guadium could see the stars glow, but could the stars see like the stories said through the ash and mist? What would the stars say if they could see the world now? Would they be Impressed? Appalled? Pleased? Angry? Guadium couldn't say, but the stars weren't the true reason he was out on the balcony with his telescope. In truth, he had made a hobby of using the balcony as a vantage point for his telescope- just to watch people. His reputation meant people couldn't be themselves around him, but with his telescope he could see people for who they were- could see how they worked, how they felt. Ironically, it was when he was furthest away from anyone that he felt closest to people. The stars were blind, but Guadium could see. A Fallen Star for the Final Empire. Watching, silently. Action 3 Who? Guadium, in his capacity as House Lord What? Trying for an heir When? third action Why? Last generation, I didn't make use of the one public use of "Trying for an Heir" very efficiently. If I use it now, I won't have to put up with the pressure of whether to use it or not later x.x
  5. Wow! this game could bring new depth and meaning to my life! Sign me up! :3 Seriously though, I've been wanting to play MAG ever since I heard about it, but can't afford to buy it. I'd need to be shown the rules, but I'd be interested in giving the game a try. If you don't mind me asking, what are the boundarys for our characters backgrounds? Specifically, can we choose our stats- or is that decided via dice rolls? I've got a few character ideas, although I'm not entirely sure how much control I have. Do the players simply need to be in a group focused on a common goal, or do they all need to come from a similar background? :B
  6. I vote The Lord Ruler. Being able to compound every metal... Even an epic as strong as Obliteration would struggle against that. A brassmind would counter Obliterations heat manipulation, meaning Obliterations main asset is to teleport- which can only be used every few minutes, apparently, so I imagine he could only run so long. Even without his copperminds, TLR still has pewter to withstand the heat, and atium to checkmate Obliteration. I say it would definitely be an epic fight, though.
  7. Nightblood ftw!!
  8. I vote Szeth, srry Alcatraz :B
  9. I vote Vin. Allomancy is a lot more focused on combat than BioChroma, and Suesborn doesn't exactly have the amount of fighting experience that Vin has.
  10. Darn, I just missed voting for lopen too... XD Regardless, I'll vote for Hoid too- I'm not a big fan of Wax tbh, and Hoid has a lot of points going for him fightwise imo
  11. On another note, would it then be possible to freeze yourself Captain America style by compound storing heat? Could be useful in the space age Scadrial... :3
  12. I agree that since the Doctor is kind of a big deal, he shouldn't be limited to just one person. Perhaps we could implement a system where each perspective takes an equal degree of control of him, or something? Have we decided how the Cosmere exists in context with the Whoverse? Parallel Universe? Just another solar system? Center of the universe/ Significant cosmically (in reference to Roshar being a fractal)? In terms of companions, will Captain Jack be included? I'm curious what Returned would think of him/ what'd happen if got shardbladed/ what'd happen if he were spiked/ what'd happen if he wielded Nightblood/ etc. Plus, Vortex Manipulator. He'd be my first choice if given the option V:
  13. Scadrial seems a good a place to start as any. Have we considered space-age Scadrial? It'd be easy to draw distinctions between the two series, and we'd have a lot of freedom since nothing is defined yet.
  14. Sorry I'm late, but if this is still open for applications, I'd like to join .o. I've read through all cosmere related books, and watched the entire Doctor Who series- so I can fill any gaps in characters RPwise if there are any.
  15. Srry, flying back to England tomorrow, don't have time to write RP (I'll put something in once I get back) Action 3 Who? Lucy, in her capacity as House Lady What? Arranging an appropriate marriage for my houses heir (Guadium) When? Third action
  16. Do spren return to the cognitive realm when their Radiant is killed? I mean, if believing in the ideals is what is keeping them conscious- then wouldn't dying be just as effective as straying from them? Just wanted to ask in case I was missing something x.x
  17. Um... incase you were unaware...
  18. "The dragons fled, they'd killed her." "do you wind wind? you do!" (an attempt to make a parallel sentence with 6 words x.x)
  19. I'm not saying that Surgebinding is some sort of game mechanic that rewards making specific actions with extra magic power (or whatever it is you meant by World of Warcraft principles, I've never played the game. Sorry x.x), rather I meant that all surgebinding is based on self-actualization/self-reflection/etc- which is why there are so many different Orders, as there are many ways to reflect on oneself (each one taking a different approach). If that is true, Shallan won't be able to continue her path of self-discovery until she confronts her conflicts (I believe that will apply to every order), it just happens that Shallans confliction comes from her suppressed past- so perhaps not every Lightweaver has suppressed memory, but since they must have all been broken at some point they will still have their own individual resolutions to conquer. Also, even if the rest of Shallans powers aren't connected to her past, there are still unexplained mysteries in her story. If those are not explained by Shallan herself, perhaps they'll be explained by another character (for example, Helaran was a key character in both Kaladin and Shallans past- it's not unreasonable to suggest the mystery of her mother (for example) will crop up again in the same manner)
  20. Touche, let me expand/amend my statement. The mountains are primarily granite, enough so that they can withstand highstorms (or atleast, withstand highstorms long enough to be regarded on maps)- and cobweed forests use their roots to anchor themselves to the mountain, since due to their density I doubt they recoil when the storm peaks. Every time a highstorm comes, sand (if it exists) is blown up the mountain & acts as fertilizer for the cobweed- allowing it to grow in abundance. As the highstorm is slowed when it collides with the mountain range, it leaves behind traces of sand in it's wake- to be picked up by the next highstorm and used in the crem process I've already described. Why can't there be sand? If the Highstorms circle the earth- them presumably the sand can too since it is being pushed with the highstorm (not saying that's what actually happens, since the ocean is probably too deep for that to happen at a particularly fast pace x.x). Also consider that the storms likely churn rocks caught in the cycle to sand very quickly throughout the cycles. There is also the point that if the storms only blow one way, the ocean would build up momentum in that direction and (slowly) have sand travel east underneath the surface. Does that cover everything? .3.;
  21. For soundweaving, Pattern says they had done it once before- but she had forgotten how to (due to memory suppression). Since she still has memorys suppressed, it is only logical to conclude that she has more powers to uncover by undoing that suppression. Also consider that Shallan was also able to summon Pattern as a blade in a pinch, but didn't recognize that the shardblade was him until later in the book when she realized the truth- I believe this mechanic also applies to her ability to soulcast, so she won't be able to realize how to use the surge until she uncovers the truth. This lead me to believe Shallan has more truths to speak before she masters her surges.
  22. Ok, lots of possibilities here- I'll try counter them individually, point for point. While the mountains are primarily granite, they are not entirely granite (otherwise, nothing would grow). Since the storm should wash away most of the soil, that is why I suggested that the storm must carry sand from the coast up the mountain side. The sand of which I speak are in themselves fertile, which allows plants to grow along the mountain- and it is that sand which is carried within the storm, which filters out any other heavier composites of the sand leaving only the clay-like crem to dissolve in the rain. The granite is not the source of the crem, the coast is- the mountain merely acts as a high vantage point which allows the crem to be carried to far inland continents. In case you were unaware, the hill is abundant in life- contrary to what you suggest. I refer to Cobweed, a type of tree that is native to the Unclaimed Hills. The hills must be fertile to support these dense trees. I propose that the trees anchor themselves to the granite beneath the hard soil/sand, which is how they are able to survive the highstorm- then absorb the nutrients from the sand that is thrown up onto the mountain. My concept revolves around the fact that the crem we know comes from the sand in the coast thrown into the storm. Therefore, anywhere due east of any coast will have sand flung from its shores- to settle in the form of crem. This differs for the unclaimed hills, though. The mountains at as a ramp that launches the crem to all inland continents behind the mountains. This means that the quantity and quality of crem must differ from region to region, if I am correct.
  23. Why make a new discussion if it's about the same topic you made earlier? Just put them all in one place :V (That being said, wasn't Hoid referred to as a lightweaver in the liar of partinel?)
  24. I'm fairly sure there is more to Shallans story (after all, she hasn't figured out how to soulcast and soundweave- meaning she has more truths to speak.)- after all, we still don't know why her mother tried to kill her. Sure, there are people trying to prevent the return of the radiants since hypothetically they bring the apocalypse in their wake- but who could the mother have learned that from? I'd say there is more to the Nahel bond that we don't know about- but we can guess, I guess.
