It's logical but it's hard to visualize for some things. Meters are too big to measure a human, centimeters are too small.
Honestly, I think that if we switched to Celsius and I saw the thermometer dip into the negatives so many days in the winter I'd start having panic attacks. Negative temperature numbers are scary.
See, even decimeters are too small for good height visualization. They're only about 4 inches long, and a foot is 12.
See, that doesn't help, either. Tell me someone is 1.7 meters tall, and I just don't know how tall that is. Though again, that's more culturalization than cognitive capacity. I could tell you that I'm 5'6" tall, and you probably can't visualize that any more than I can visualize decimal places of meters.
