He might find out though won't he? I'm pretty sure Dalinar must know since the Stormfather refused to be his Shardblade - easy enough to draw the conclusions from there that all Shardblades were once spren.

For Jasnah, wasn't there something in WoK that implied she had been attacked by men before (i vaguely remember some dialog between her and Shallan after Jasnah killed the men in the alley). Don't have the book here with me or i would check.

What was done to you? Shallan wondered with horror. And who did it?

 

It seems to imply that Jasnah was attacked, so that, together with her discovery about the nature of her parents' relationship that maxal mentioned might be what broke her. 

And reviving Syl was doable. Kaladin was still alive and could take his oaths up again to bring her back. The lost Radiants that created these shardblades died like 4000+ years ago. The blades are largely screwed.

Yeah, that's what I thought too -  the dead spren could only be revived by the Radiant that they had the Nahel bond with? Correct me if I'm wrong though. Also remember how the spren react near the Shardblades - they scream to the point where the Radiants can no longer fight.

Basically, I think the Shardblades will be largely useless in the fight against Odium.

What about Eshonai though? For some reason, I thought that her being the first to take up the Stormform meant that she was Odium's champion? Or am I just speculating total nonsense oops 

Possibly a Tin Savant could do this but even then I'm not sure they could, a tin ferring could probably do it since they can store and tap smell. But I can't really see this ability coming in handy since by the time you've gotten close enough to determine what kind of metal they're burning they've already had ample opportunity to demonstrate. it's kind of a moot point if you can smell the steel on the coinshots breath after they've just sprayed you with coins.

Maybe it might not come in handy with the Coinshots and Lurchers, but I bet it could be pretty useful to know when someone's burning zinc or brass or copper... Especially since normal Seekers wouldn't be able to detect someone burning copper. 

Well, I'm going to add my own two cents even though this thread's been inactive awhile  

I personally really love the idea of casting Zoey Deutch as Vin - her action sequences in Vampire Academy were realllly good AND she's the right age. And I also support Robert Downey Junior as Kelsier and Hugh Laurie as Clubs!

As to the others, I have absolutely no clue. I just really really want Lana Parilla to play Tindwyl in Well of Ascension though ))
