It's possible that the trappers just got its gender wrong. Patji doesn't seem like a particularly gendered name to me, so it could be interpreted either way. Maybe the Eelakin (?) just got it wrong.

It's important to note that the events of Sixth of the Dusk take place the latest of any book in the Cosmere thus far. I like this theory though. I think Brandon's wording when he says that fits this theory well, given that the group of islands worshiped by the Eelakin on First of the Sun are called "The Pantheon".

Didn't see anything about this with a very cursory search, but I was having a look through some WoB and found this, which appears to be saying that "Ingenuity" is the name of one of the as of yet unknown Shards. To me that fits very well, and could potentially become a very interesting, invention based magic system in the future.

As seen in this thread, Brandon said in 2014 that there was a "shard that isn't on a planet". Has this been resolved since then, and the identity of the Shard determined? Because I hear a lot about the Survival Shard, and it even has it's own Coppermind page, but I've never seen this one mentioned before.

Just for clarification, I mean this in a discussion sense, not a question sense. Sorry if this is the wrong area to post this, I couldn't see a forum headed "Cosmere discussion" which is where I think this would fit best. Basically, we know that the Intent of a Shard is influenced, at least somewhat, by its Vessel. For example, Ati (Ruin's Vessel) was apparently kind and generous as a person, and so was probably one of the least destructive possible manifestations of Ruin. Similarly for Odium, Rayse was "loathsome, crafty and dangerous" even before Ascending, and so his interpretation of the Shard Odium is just about the worst possible. So, how do you think people with different personalities would affect the Shards we know about? For example, if Ati had taken up Odium's Shard, would he have focused more on the general "passion" part of the Shard (which Rayse says is the true Intent of the Shard), and less on the "hate" part.

I too agree that he's probably head of his family now. But regarding the two "well" brothers, I don't think so. The only way he would know that they are well is if they came with him on his journey to the Plains. If, however, they are still alive, I don't see how we haven't been introduced to them yet. Surely Rock would have brought him with him to Urithiru, and they at least would be known to us. Given that is not the case, I think they challenged Sadeas in retribution and were killed, as was previously mentioned in the thread. That said, I don't see why Rock would lie about that, so maybe not.

That seems like quite the stretch to me. The only one I would really agree with is the parallel between Delious and Sebarial, the rest share one or two similarities with their "counterparts" but realistically most characters do; Harry Potter shares some personality traits with Kaladin, it doesn't mean they're similar.

If that's true then it's likely we'll be seeing a few windrunners coming from Shinovar soon. Though that actually raises an interesting quandary - on the one hand keeping millenia old oaths is pretty honourable, on the other as windrunners they would likely be fighting against the Parshendi, which would be a violation of those oaths.

Just putting in my 2 cents, but I think it might be either the Stonewards or Bondsmiths, with the surge of Tension. Sanderson has already said that Tension is used to make something soft hard, so could Shardplate just be normal armour influenced by Tension and possibly another surge or two? We don't know a lot about some of the surges, so maybe one of them? Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Hey, I'm new here, so tell me if I'm breaking any rules. Anyway, I was looking through a thread full of Sandersons Q&A sort of thing, and for one of the answers he said the part of the epilogue of book ten was in the little things at the start of each chapter. I'm afraid I can't get a quote, since I kinda lost it, and can no longer find it. But just looking through the epigraphs, I saw the death rattle for chapter 3 of book 1, and thought that that looked sort of like something said at the end of a series of books. Three “A man stood on a cliffside and watched his homeland fall into dust. The waters surged beneath, so far beneath. And he heard a child crying. They were his own tears.” Collected on the 4th of Tanates, year 1171, thirty seconds before death. Subject was a cobbler of some renown. Sorry, I have no idea how to put that in quotes. Any other suggestions?
