I can relate to both sides, but since its so unclear on what he actually did, You can build very solid cases for both sides. 1. Adolin is emotionally wrecked, acted on impulse, clearly dazed & overwhelmed. Trevors outline describes this well 2. Adolin is a trained soldier since the age of 10(?), he had the presence of mind to hide 3 things: shardblade, cuffs & chalk on the wall, using a shardblade or even a short sword to cut off the cuffs doesnt seem like something a soldier would do. They tend to use the right tool for the right task, its how they are trained. Likewise, soldiers are trained to never let go of their weapons and always be ready for the next attack. But... Well, we dont know whether it was actually bloody or not since there's no mention. But considering he is cutting off the cuffs to hide blood stains, it's quite likely he would had wiped the blade before cutting. He is a soldier and Kholin soldiers are always taking good care of their equipment as stated several times in the book. But, there's no mention so we dont know for sure.

In terms of the knife, i dont think it's left in Sadeas corpse based on this Two reasons he was using his knife and not his shardblade 1. His shardblade is waaaaay to big to be used for the task and the risk cutting of his hand is quite high 2. When he carves out the chalk markings from the wall, the weapon used is described with a captial B (Blade), which for me indicates the shardblade. I'd say he's got a decent chance for getting away with it... Unless Nalan starts to smell something. He had an uncanny ability of sniffing out murder. Remember the proto radiant cobbler? How could he ever find out that it was the cobbler that delivered the wine? Doesnt make sense....

If Hoid has biochroma, wouldnt that mean that when he get cut by a shardbladec that one soul is expended? Since he got perfect pitch, he should have a couple of hundred at least. So technically he can get 'killed' a few hundred times by a shardblade to no effect right?
