  1. Welp, some things were glossed over/left to be explored in the next book: What did Kaladin say to Bridge Four about Moash? How much of his involvement with the assasination cabal did he confess to Dalinar? Did Shallan and Kal have any conversation after discovering they were both radiants? How is dear old Elohkar dealing with an actual, not-at-all paranoid delusion assasination attempt? (involving a member of his honor guard too). A lot of threads were left hanging. I got the impression that Mr. Sanderson didn't want to clutter up the denumont (how do you spell that? Help me O French person!) of the book, and will further explore some of the things that happened that first week in Urithiru in the next book (yes Adolin, I'm looking at you).
  2. A person can have more than one cousin. I for one, am not so sure Dalinar was talking about Amaram when he obliquely mentioned Roshone's powerful connection. We will probably learn a lot more about all this when Kaladin heads to Kholinar (his next destination, after Hearthstone).
  3. Tien's was the last name on the list. Roshone specifically tells his clerk to read the first two names and the very last one. The law is not made %100 percent clear, but Amaram manages to appear like an honorable noble who does not have the specific local authority to override his cousin's petty whims, despite his disgust with him. That's how Kal sees him until, well, you know. I wonder if Lirin saw through Amaram's "ideal light-eyes" facade.
  4. Do you have a source for that 200 years figure? I'm just curious. ^Thanks Aleskiel!
  5. Nnnnnno, he said flute jazz-off not lute *bu-dum tish* I'll... let myself out. Well, since I'm already here, can I mention Laral in the context of Kaladin relationships? That scene in WoK where she coyly leads Kal to where the boys are practicing with their spears - something about it makes me thing she is going to get him into some real trouble further down the line.
  6. Hopefully Ax will run into Kaladin at somepoint and then he could record a second-hand account of encountering death spren. In return, he maybe can teach K how to alter his forehead glyphs to spell "I am awesome" or "Syl is intelligent and articulate".
  7. Oh they'll hug. Or at least Shallan will glomp-tackle the princess. And Jasnah will be even more flabbergasted that Wit was.
  8. I really like this theory. It works nicely with the way the Parshendi forms somewhat parallel the Radiant's spren bonds. When the Parshendi bond to the right spren for war-form (which is?) they grow carapace armor. So, when the Radiant perfect their nahel bond, they "grow" shard plate. Kaladin makes himself armor from dead Parshendi carapace bits, and even he finds that disturbing. Now (assuming Tersien is right) imagine everyone's reaction when they realise what the shardplate is...
  9. I will not post in this thread. I will never eat chocolate. I will not buy this tobacconist it is scratched. I will also never quote Monty Python randomly on the internet I will adopt another cat :-(
  10. These are fantastic. Love your take on Jasnah.
  11. A thought just occured - at the end of WOR, Adolin clearly broke alethi law. The moment he injests so much as a photon of stormlight, Nale and his cohorts would decend on him like the murderous harpies they are. And they'll bring along the new member and his puppy... oh yeah, methinks ol' Adolin is in for some fun in book 3.
  12. I thought he was just hanging out om Roshar because stormlight is a sufficient breath substitute that doesn't involve (as far as we know) hurting anybody. Maybe he'll hop back to his homeworld in a century or two, y'know, next time major war be brewing.
  13. Sorry to muscle in your idea Feather but I can't help but love such a scene Renarin: ...now this violet from the Kasitor region of Iri has a robust fruity ripeness overlaid with a complex bouquet of quickweed and quivervine root. Note the nutty undertones from the stumptree barrels used for the aging process... Kaladin *eyes him in utter bewilderment*
  14. Dangit, looks like I posted without intending to. suppose I better say something. I have developed my corny headcanon about Terra, which I will cling fastly too until the inevitable moment when further book shutter it. In my head she was a camp prostitute that got involved with Kaladin, but eventually left him to join the ardentia. Why do I think this? Not much really Mainly, symmetry between Shallan and Kaladin. She had a sort-of love interest that offered to leave the ardentia to be with her (he was lying but nevermind). He should have the opposite experience.
  15. The city of bells has a theater district. (Don't take the shortcut to it unless you're packing a soulcaster)
  16. First of, yes I do realise that if they could, it would look very much like waterbending. Secondly, sorry if this is a silly question, but I was just idly wandering about how infusing something with stormlight to alter its gravity works. Does it have to be a solid, clearly defined object like a rock (or a person)? If Kaladin tried to infuse liquid, would the stormlight just, well, spill through it, or would the lashing work? In other words, if he was trying to put out a fire, could he move just the water out of the water barrel, or would he have to take the barrel as well? Has Mr. Sanderson answered this somewhere?
  17. Thanks for the welcome! About the leopard - what Aleksiel said. Also, if you read the Discworld book, it's also not true that the leopard doesn't change its shorts. Anyways, are there any theories going around about the identity of shshssh? Is it all all possible that she could have been the older princess from Warbreaker (I forget how to spell her name)?
  18. IN WOK, when Dalinar first sees Navani at the kings feast he contemplates something like "... besides, what of his own wife, dead these ten years" (going by audio version, so wording maybe imprecise). So, she died ten years ago. Interestingly, later in the book, Navani tells Dallinar that she had always been faithful to Gavillar, while implying Gavillar was mayhaps not always faithful to her. So maybe there are some royal alethi bastards running around. Also, first post, so. hello.
