  1. But first, some things have to happen. First, Funtimes must learn that Sam's mother is in danger. Second, she must learn that Mrs. Trattner is likable. Third, Mrs. Trattner must accept, however briefly, that Funtimes almost always fills up on sugar and so does not have any sort of desire to see if people are delicious. Finally, Funtimes must realize that Mrs. Trattner is a baker, and that baking produces cupcakes, and that cupcakes can be made into explosives. (She knew all of this already, but a refresher couldn't hurt.) And before all that happens, we need to get through the meeting. How long were we planning on having it go for? Until Altermind gets word of the MEE attack?
  2. Did you just peek ahead to page 60?
  3. Speaking of, do you remember back in Ye Olden Days of the first Question thread, when it was unanimously decided that one of Lightwards' in-game deaths must come after he bites into an exploding cupcake? That hypothetical death would now be frosted with an extra-thick layer of karma.
  4. You are not obligated to be anything except committed to giving that Epic the most karmic death you can devise.
  5. I was afraid of making the list too long. If I were to accurately represent his crimes on this list, it would be at least ten pages.
  6. And Then They Died Revised and Updated Criteria: To be placed on this list, an Epic must exhibit not only callousness, but a longstanding commitment to atrocities. The Epic in Question must be not only consistently portrayed as ruthless, but as enjoying their ruthlessness. Said Epic must glory in things decent societies deem reprehensible, including (but by no means limited to): torture, murder, sexual harassment, psychological manipulation (including subjecting a family member to reprehensible acts in order to gain control of someone), stalking, etc. Epics on this list must have demonstrably crossed the Moral Event Horizon, preferably with an evil laugh and/or creepy remark as they plummeted into the abyss. Members: Oregon Chapter Nighthound Lightwards Electro CorpseMaker Lucentia Nighthound Koschei Quota Bloody Mary Neverthere Nighthound Blackwave Nighthound Miner Ironmonger Nighthound And there you have it. Miner, Ironmonger, you have been added to the list. One more child-centered atrocity, and I will be forced to create the "Won't Somebody Please Think of the Children?" list. Yes, it will be rather lonely with only the two of you and Koschei on it, but if one more child dies, it must be done.
  7. Dang. Between Koschei and Miner…..
  8. Good. Done with finals. (AT LAST!) I managed to get A's in everything, which surprised me a bit, but I'm not going to complain. How have you been? How's Newcago? Sorry I didn't attend the last ball; like I said, I was in the middle of finals. Maybe I'll have Funtimes show up to the next one. What I love about "Let it Go" is that it can mean so many different things to so many different people—and it manages to be empowering to nearly everyone. For me, it speaks to my having Aspergers as something to be embraced, not shunned. (That's part of why I identified so deeply with Elsa, especially during the "Snowman" montage—"Conceal, don't feel, don't let it show" is the most common advice I've received regarding my many quirks.)
  9. Hello, Newcago. We haven't spoken in a while. How are you?
  10. I mostly finished the series out of obligation to my siblings—they both loved BOO, and I figured, if they liked it, Riordan must have done something right. How wrong I was.
  11. Gender and religious duty in Warbreaker.
  12. I have about 1000 words so far.
  13. Winter, is there any way you could combine all of your Epic posts in the Epics of Oregon thread into one post and hide the rest?
  14. Should be fine. Echoing Edgedancer's question, which faction will she be joining? That is the best representation of Nighthound I have ever seen. Oh, good philosophy. I always say that if you keep your expectations low enough, they'll always be exceeded.
  15. Oh no. Nighthound's is gone now. Looks like we'll have to replace him with a pretty pink pony princess. I'm not sure what you guys are expecting, so I don't know if it's what you're expecting or not.
  16. Yay? If it led to the destruction of ponies, though, it's kind of a hollow victory. Almost done with the first Funtiimes flashback.
  17. I'm not entirely sure if Funtimes could transform Nightblood. Her powers don't allow her to transform living things into something else. From the descriptions in Warbreaker, it seemed as though Sentient Awakened Objects like Nightblood were living; he had a personality, a will, and a consciousness, so I would classify him as a living being. As for Shiny Sparkle, I'll edit my post. I couldn't find a description of her clothes in the Epics of Oregon thread.
  18. As do I. Beige, with brief flashes of glitter. Kind of like a sofa in Middle America when a four-year-old girl does an art project nearby. I added in Autumn seeing Shiny Sparkle. Thanks! I agree on Nighthound being well-written. He's a very well-written nightmare.
  19. Epics like themes and motifs. For Funtimes, those words translate to "glitter" and "more glitter." Edit: I'll add in her seeing Shiny Sparkle nearby.
  20. Not a requirement, but at least skimming it is definitely recommended. (I'm still impressed, though. We tend to be pretty wordy.)
  21. In-game, it's only been a few days. Four, I believe. A lot happened in those days, but it hasn't been that long, by the game's timeline. Nighthound will probably save his betrayal for day five or six.
  22. Thanks. (Unless that's at the word count, in which case….thanks? )
  23. Is there a difference in intensity? I wrote it as if the explosions were caused by the baskets, following shortly on the heels of her teleportation, but if the ones from the baskets were much smaller, I'll change it.
