Pugs improve everything.
-
Um….maybe? Actually, no. I've had it on my phone for a week or so, but I just now got the chance to use it.
-
Mollie sure thinks so.
-
I don't know if I'd call it materialistic so much as practical. Money buys pugs, and the internet, which allows access to pug pictures and ponies.
-
Is the first ponies?
-
Perhaps it's time for bribery? I have a few pug pictures I've been saving for an emergency….

It has been pretty slow in all of the threads. (And I'm not just saying that because The Dalles' shipping can only begin on the next game day. )
-
Here, or in-game?
-
This is completely relevant to everything.

Ugh. That sucks. My parents still give me funny looks when I watch cartoons, and my mom once gave me a long lecture about how worried she was that I'm "clinging to childhood with a death grip" because I'd rather watch kid's movies than adult ones. I think what your parents, and mine, fail to account for is that, by and large, the kids' things we like are more upbeat and in many ways of higher quality than the more adult-marketed shows they want us to watch. MLP is colorful and optimistic, with characters who are developed better and treated more sympathetically than many protagonists of adult shows. The worldbuilding is innovative and deep, far more so than that of adult-oriented science fiction shows like Revolution. I was introduced to MLP during my junior year of college, by a guy in my Classic Lit class. He wasn't embarrassed. He wasn't ashamed to like the show. No, he walked with me until we had to part ways, telling me his theory about how Celestia was actually a tyrant who exiled her own sister for beginning the Great Lunar Rebellion. I had no idea how he could get that from a kid's show….so I watched it. And then I knew. It's hard, living in a family where people don't want to break out of their own boxes, but it's their loss. They're the ones missing out on an awesome show, and countless others, if they'd broaden their horizons. I wouldn't suggest watching it in front of them—I've received more than one lecture for sharing my love of "kids' shows" with my parents—but if you have consistent and somewhat private computer access, watching it online might be a good alternative. All episodes are free on YouTube; I don't think I've ever watched it on TV. -
Is Yak Smasher the less-powerful, less-terrifying, equally destructive cousin of War Smasher?

Oh, I caught it. I'm still afraid.

Of course. Everything on the internet is true!

….I was going to google "party cave," but I'm afraid of the internet. I like to think the tattoo, if she gave him one, said "awesome," so her dog would automatically be the most awesome thing in the room. That, or "Deathwish allergy," meaning Deathwish immediately dissolves into a puddle of sneezing and sniffling when he comes within thirty feet of the dog.

One of these, perhaps?

Update on the Spokane situation: Abbie won't get to see her friend at all this trip, and she's really disappointed. Mom and Dad promised to make it up to her, but neither of us are sure whether or not they'll follow through. Not that this stopped Dad from verbally patting himself on the back, saying "We're good about [making things up to you]. Most parents just say 'Eh, suck it up.'" I don't even want to be in the same room with them right now. -
Rose wasn't my favorite, but I did like her. Partially because she was perfect for the Doctor at the time they met—he was still reeling from the Time War; she was sweet and curious with a strong compassionate streak. Donna is one of my favorites—about tied with Amy and Rory—but I did like Rose.

I won't pick on you for liking a companion I don't. I may be the only one in my family who likes Donna more than Martha. For me, it's just that she doesn't seem to have much of a personality. And if she does, it doesn't come across well. Who is your least favorite companion?
-
I mostly want to see Jethro traveling alongside Sally Sparrow so he can sass her while she rolls her eyes. I wouldn't even mind if he picked up a modern companion from a different country. An American or an Australian would be different, yes, but why not pick someone from, say, China? Japan? Russia, India, Pakistan, Belize, Guatemala, Egypt, Sudan? I know they'd run the risk of accidentally commenting on political issues pertinent to those nations, but they've avoided hugely overt political statements when taking companions from modern-day London, so I don't doubt they could do it again. Or, combine our two approaches and take a companion from twenty-eighth century China and delve into hardcore speculative fiction with their backstory. Point is, the Doctor is a time-traveling alien with the universe at his fingertips….and he only travels with modern-day Londoners?
-
No freaking kidding. And it's not like she'd be the first historical companion—Jamie McCrimmon was from 18th century Scotland and had the kilt to prove it. I for one would be thrilled to see more historical or far-future companions—maybe take the two children from The Doctor, the Widow, and the Wardrobe along on a few adventures before picking up Jethro Kane from Midnight? Or, if they're going to insist on a modern companion, bring back Sally Sparrow from Blink. She would make a fantastic companion.

Sergeant Zimmykins thinks you must have stared at a picture of the sun too long.
