Eshonai hears voices advising her. Is this Odium, or the stormspren?

 

Buried within those new rhythms, the names of which she had intuited somehow, she could almost hear voices speaking to her. Advising her. If her people had received such guidance over the centuries, they surely would not have fallen so far.

For some reason, Hoid is my least favorite Worldhopper. I have no idea why.

If Kaladin became Odium's Champion, that would be a wonderful twist.

I think it was implied that Gavilar wanted the return, by Amaram and Eshonai's POV.

Amaram says that Gavilar would be proud that the Voidbringers returned.

Eshonai says that they assassinated Gavilar so that the Unmade (connected to voidbringers) could not return.

Gavilar thinks Thaidakar (?) assassinated him, and Thai is a Ghostblood, and Ghostbloods oppose the sons of Honor.

Also, if Gavilar wasn't a Son of Honor, the Alethi would have ignored the Parshendi, and the War of Reckoning would have been prevented, and the Everstorm would not have occurred. So indirectly, Gavilar caused the Everstorm.

Hoid is a Lightweaver, it's just that he has Yolish lightweaving and not the Illumination Surge.

I wish Renarin and Adolin won't get a flashback, Dalinar's should cover them and that lives space for Mr T.

Did anybody else notice how horrible Gavilar Kholin is?

Gavilar apparently wanted to return the Heralds, which is forgivable (even though all the Heralds are psychopaths/drunks/vandals/insane). But he apparently wanted to achieve this miraculous feat by turning the Parshendi into Voidbringers.

This is highly immoral, as nobody wants to transform into orcs, and this just feels like Gavilar did not understand the simple fact that the Parshendi =/= parshmen. To him, the Parshendi were just parshmen that could be sacrificed in order to achieve a greater goal, and he completely disregarded the fact that the Parshendi are people too. In addition, he seems to have forgot the fact that the Parshendi would not just sit around and be monsterfied, my guess is that he just thought that the parshendi were simply docile animals.

Conclusion: Gavilar is a callous monster.

I thought that Kaladin saved Shallan, since Kaladin got a breath of stormlight as he fell and gravitation/adhesion is very effective for saving falling people. But I'm probably wrong

No, Ym is Jezrien and Lift is Nale. That's an easy mistake to make though.

On-topic, I really don't think Dalinar is one of the Heralds. I think the reference is just a bit of flavoring for the scene.

Just a simile. Dalinar had a brother and remembers his childhood. Unless a Herald has transformation powers (to turn into a child and stuff) and can plant false memories in both himself and in everyone else he knows, no, Dalinar is not a Herald.

Or alternately, Dalinar could be Ishar and Eshonai could be Jezrien.

I don't get it. Generally, inaction is worse than action. Kind of like writing anything on a test question is better than writing nothing.

Brandon said that the Parshendi are not of Honor, Cultivation or Odium, so they're probably native.

Also, if I was Rayse, I wouldn't make a species as intelligent as Parshendi, I would make a species obeys my commands completely, cannot think by itself, and wants to kill humans. The Last Legion escaped and Eshonai sought peace, so Rayse probably subverted the original process of Parshendi bonding to include voidspren.

I wonder how three livable planets fitted into a single star system. since they are all temperate, they must be all three in the same orbit, at lagrangian points to each other. It's certainly no happenstance, so the shards set those planets up there. Who knows why.

A planet could be heated by energy from geochemistry. But then only the oceans would be habitable, so I'm probably wrong.
