  1. I liked WoK more. Roshar just felt more dangerous in it. Words of Radiance had too much of the characters not talking to each other driving the plot. For example, in the prison, all Dalinar had to do was say "Hey Kaladin, I believe you about Amaram. I'm working on getting hard proof, and can't pursue legal action until I get some" rather than "You need proof for me to believe you". If he just did that, Moash wouldn't be hooking up with Taravangian right now. Stuff like that.
  2. Nah, they only do that during duck season. Or was it rabbit season? Or ugly crustacean-arachnid-thingy season? I keep getting them confused
  3. IMO, the largest Willshaper candidate right now is Eshonai. It can't be a coincidence that Brandon is playing up Eshonai's desire to travel the world (remember her love of maps?), and she did have that weird spren bothering her at Narak (or was that just the stormspren? I forget).
  4. Here's what I think a Willshaper in action looks like, approximately (I think I've posted this a few times now):
  5. They make sure to alternate. They cycle through rye, sourdough, wheat, white, wonder, cinnamon raisin, oat, and multigrain breads to ensure a wide variety.
  6. Thank you! I'm not sure if Nalan will continue hunting surgebinders in the next book, I think he may move on to bigger targets (like the Stone Shamans). Previously, he was killing surgebinders to prevent a desolation from occuring (or at least that's what he SAYS he's doing). Now that the desolation has started, he may move to a Plan B. Possibly taking the Honorblades from the Stone Shamans to build up his power?
  7. He's going around slaughtering surgebinders and (I'm pretty sure, it's my pet theory) ordered Helaran to assassinate Amaram. That's definitely NOT what he was before. And all the heralds have been corrupted. Kalak's a whimpering mess, Shallash is destroying all of the art that depicts her, Vedel (I think it was Vedel) is though to be working in Taravangian's hospitals/evil murder barns, and so on.
  8. Nalan's been corrupted. He no longer works to uphold the law. He follows his own agenda, but is constrained by the law. Two different things.
  9. Personally, I considered WoK to be like a fine prime rib. WoR came off more as a filet mignon. Very good, but a little lighter and not quite as thick and flavorful. On the topic of Szeth, remember that his current arc of actions was explained by Hoid in "Wandersail". In the next book, he's going to do something really, really, really bad. Absolutely awful. I'm scared to see what'll happen.
  10. If the desolation doesn't go well, humanity will have to develop neon pink spheres in a hurry. Those weapons of mass destruction would blind the voidbringers just long enough for a special unit of radiants with anti-pink filters to flood in and finish them off. I'll lead them.
  11. It's because of the Sixth House from Morrowind. Odium is actually Dagoth Ur. The Dawnshards are Keening, Wraithguard, and Sunder. The Dwemer are the Dawnsingers, as they utilize tones to work their magic. Kagrenac is known as the Tonal Architect, the Heart of Lorkhan is called the "Doom Drum", and many Dwemer technologies utilize sounds and beats to function. Anyways, I'm not quite sure why the number 6. It just has a negative connotation. 666, and all that stuff.
  12. Progression is the surge of GROWTH and HEALING. Division is the surge of DESTRUCTION and DECAY. Decay only occurs due to entropy, as the infused object becomes an inert cloud of dust. Or in other words, it would effectively accelerate time for the infused object, causing it to lose energy and integrity. That is the exact opposite of what progression does.
  13. I found a video. I don't think anyone in their right mind would call this progression.
  14. Rosharian Hancock time! Remember kids, don't drink and fly!
  15. I don't think it was left open at all. I thought it was pretty clear by the end. Renarin didn't need illumination to hide himself. He just scribbled it while everyone else was focused on Szeth coming in and trying to murder-lash everyone in the room.
  16. Renarin did it. He said he had been doing it. Dalinar thought that he was doing it and that he was going insane, but it was actually Renarin.
  17. The Onion appears quite different when you don't get the joke. Vorinism is like reading The Onion and not realizing that it's satire.
  18. It's an actual easter egg with an emerald sphere in it. Why do I keep having to repeat myself? Edit: I think it might be in Shinovar. They have chickens. Probably a good place to start looking for eggs.
  19. I know that I overgeneralized, Moogle. Just couldn't resist that awesome alliteration (see what I did there?). Perhaps a better comparison would be to The Onion. At face value, it's mostly incorrect. However, there is a foundation of truth that's present. You just generally have to read into it and discard some of the surface level information, which is often wrong.
  20. I think it's been fairly well established that Vorinism is full of Chasmfiend Crap. Kalak's sent back to Braize to get tortured by Odium. We're not sure what the Tranquiline halls are, but don't trust what Vorinism considers them to be.
  21. I'm not sure about this. I feel like the leader of the opposing side would have been mentioned by now. It's possible that it was indeed the ghostbloods, but I feel like it's unlikely. First off, Amaram identifies the ghostbloods as the culprits immediately, and I'm not sure if that actually being the case makes the most narrative sense. The main reason that I don't think that the ghostbloods did it was because they want to capture Amaram, or at least they do in WoR. Mraize specifically says that Amaram's life belongs to another (perhaps they were going to hand him off to Nalan?). Helaran's actions do not indicate an intention for capturing him. As I tacked on to my response, Amaram's leg got pinned and completely messed up. Any number of factors could have led to a major artery in his leg being severed, causing him to bleed out. Too risky for a capture mission. Now, it is definitely possible that the Ghostbloods changed their mind after Kaladin killed Helaran (with Kaladin being the "another"), but I'm not really on board with that idea. They would have to know about Kaladin being enslaved. And if they knew about that, I get the feeling that the Ghostbloods would have heavily recruited Kaladin by playing off of his thirst for vengeance. And the Ghostbloods aren't bound by the legality of their actions, so it should have been super easy for them to finish Amaram off while his leg was healing (which the Skybreakers couldn't do). Now, it's definitely possible that Amaram identified Helaran as a Davar, and used the family's connection to make the ghostblood assumption. That would be a logical chain of events.
  22. Awful puns incoming! I don't see what Gaz is so worried about. Maybe I can eyeball the problem with closer examination. I'm sure we can patch up the issue. I'm sure he must have been blindsided when he saw Kaladin in Kholinar. We should buy him a new iphone with retina display. Maybe he was scared of breaking the rules? After all, minimum punishment is 10 eyelashes per offense. I'm an awful human being/starfish, and should show myself out now. But yeah, he's nervous because of his limited vision.
  23. Well, take a Stoneward. If their powers work like I think they do, they'll have the ability to build it. The only problem is them finding out that they can, and a worldhopper could fix it. Not saying it'll happen, just that it sort of could. Which would be awesome.
  24. Kaladin would fly to braize. Or a stoneward would build a rocket ship. Or both.
