  1. besides what the others have said navani didnt actually make or conceive the idea of the fabrials, she is a finacial backer to the people who do, she says as much in the scene where adolin goes to talk to her on the balcony when they are testing the lift thing, cant remember the proper name for it,

if what ye are suggesting was true would it not be alot stronger than disapproval tho? and was that not because she thought he was using shallan more than anythin else? I thought dalinar made it seen that gavilar was loved and that he felt inadequete in comparison? must look for that section in the book

if that was the case wouldnt she try stop shallan spending so much time with kabsal(spelling wrong I think) in the way of kings? because what ye are is suggesting is a mirror of that really? even tho he wasnt really an ardent. think what broke her has something to do with why she was organising assassins to protect her family, supposedly everyone loved/ got on with her father so strange was going to those lengths to protect her family dont ye think?

@ delightful when I read he snapped I took it as a burst of anger and just that, not snap as in he broke, I would be on board with him dealing with how he killed sadeas the way he did breaking him, but not the act of him killing him, I dont no am I explaining this well, I still think we have/will have to many kholin radiants tho so I hope he doesnt become one. I would like to see renarin come into his own and show his strong points like u said, actually liked him as a character before his reveal, forgettable as he was,but as a side kick type character so maybe my main problem is his reveal as a proto kr and how was done handled, seems like was to soon, to abrupt, to rushed, and that led to me thinkin how I do. @ maxal said something similar to myself above so mostly agree with you on adolin but I always thought dalinar only changed when he got the visions or at least long after his brother died

@ aleksiel fair point with shallan but I kinda inferred that the scene with her mother was the end of a much longer series of events we didnt see, and not just a sudden once off reaction, seemed premeditated by her mother, so I inferred her brokeness was because of her mother, I might be wrong. I dont agree with what u said bout dalinar, dont think that is enough to break him, Same with renarin As for adolin I think you are taking snap to mean more than it does, to me it implied enough is enough have to end this type thing not snap as in broken. Maxal you summed up my feelings on renarin better than I did myself bar I dont think he should of been a radiant full stop, it just makes no sense to me, and if hes bein a truth watcher means he just screams we are all going to die or some such nonsence during every fight I could do without it, just seems totally inept, unless we see massive growth from him, and he becomes a more central character I dont see my feelings changing.

@ aleksiel I think my problem with so many kholins bein proto radiants is this, how is dalinar broken? before his visions he was the ' blackthorn' brilliant warrior and general, and he loved it, so not like he has PTSD, his wife died? but he erased her memory so if that broke him the fact he wipes her from memory means can no longer be broken from it. Jasnah? how is she broken? cos a child prodigy who smarter than most people? planning assassinations? dont see how she fits the broken. Renarin I have already said y dont think he fits elhokar just dont see it he is useless so unless self pity qualifys as broken.... Adolin doesnt seen anyway broken so how can he be? Compare them with shallan and kaladin and how can day be considered broken

sorry im using my phone so writing like its a txt. I get what ur sayin bout szeth, and to a degree I agree with you. But given szeths questionable morals as u pointed out shouldnt nightblood of just killed him? like he did so many in warbreaker? by himself? so doesnt the fact nightblood didnt kill him outright say alot? I no what you are sayin regards renarin but I see it differently, kaladin and dalinat both only grimanced when there blades screamed, so given that couldnt we assume if day kept holding them they would be able to? by pushing it to the side so to speak? given they both do with wounds they recieve, havin a hard time imagining the scream bein more debilitating than a wound.

@ greypilgrim, did anyone notice renarin was autistic til brandon said it? he always just struck me as socially awkward, with a kinda lack of self belief from feeling inadequate cos of his ' viewed' lack of fighting ability etc I didnt pick up on the authism, and assumed the box was just a nervous habit, and since wasnt in WOK as far as I remember how could it be seen as anythin other den a nervous habit

I take your point about the reading order, as since I new from this forum about vasher and nightblood already and given how excited ppl were on this maybe my expectations were a little off. But szeth doesnt strike me as mad in the traditional sense, at the start he seems guilt ridden about what he has to do but toward the middle hes just angry no one has the ability to stop him, an at the end I think its more the realisation that he was right and the stone shamans were wrong about the radiants and he tried clinging to his belief they were right to absolve his own guilt from what he has done and seemed more anger than deranged madness to me. I really hope adolin and elhokar arent proto radiants in waiting, there is too many kholins already and I find it a bit much being honest, I dont renarin should be one and if im honest even question dalinar being one, esp since he thinks hes commander of them which I just dont see, as for renarin I get that he is brave but its a foolish way and he ends up a liability rather then a help with the chasmfiend, and I get the screaming shardblade when he goes to try help his brother but its not like he did anythin with it, I dont consider standing there as amazing, if he did something useful while it was screaming than yes it would be but when he doesnt do anythin just holes it I dont think its all that great, maybe im just reading it wrong, I just dont see it with renarin, far better canidates for KR we see in the books in my opinion

Hi all im relatively new to this site had about 4 or 5 posts, and this is just a query more den anythin, Why is every one so excited bout vasher and nightblood being in the SA? I read warbreaker after WOR after I saw everyone on here going nuts that vasher and nightblood were in it and how excited every one was about it, and I just dont get it, vasher wasnt even the best character in warbreaker and nightblood wasnt exactly good in it in my opinion,ya its a sword that talks, so what? its not like the interaction between them was even interesting, so is it just the fact of a cosmere character or what? because otherwise I dont see the big deal,or am I missing something big? Secondly, why is renarin a proto KR? firstly too many kholins are already and secondly makes no sense for him to be one, was it only done because of the two brothers adolin was the likely one?so was it only done cos ppl wouldnt of guessed it? Renarin is a highly forgettable character does nothing in either book to grab the readers attention, so again why a proto KR? makes no sense?
  12. alrite people I have a crackpot theory which has pretty much no evidence and is prob totally wrong, What if taln is nalan and nalan is taln? and taln is controlling nalan? it says taln has a scar aswel, using skybreakers how he is as a way of gettin bk at nalan for leaving him in damnation, while killing possible kr from other hearlds orders to punish all of them? he is "after" the stone shaman (stonewards) because they havent fulfilled there ideals being "resolve, strength and realibility" have no proof and what I said is flimsy at best but struck me as possible,
  13. should try the red knight by miles cameron, malice by john gwynne, both first books in there series and second books are out now both also very good, also hearld of the storm by richard ford and a dance of cloaks by david dalglish 1st book in series of 6 ,
  14. @ spark, I no it comes down to personal taste like u said just dont see how could put sanderson on a level where he ruins other ppls work and say eragon is a favourite in the same post as like necromancer said he robbed the story from star wars and lotr and den say sanderson will make ppl forget tolkien? just taut it was a mind blowing comment,
  15. @ radiant knights, how u can say sandersons work has ruined other authors for u and then mention eragon series as one of ur favourites is mind blowing, eragon series was one the most childishly written and most predictable series I have read, authors like brent weeks lightbringer series, rothfuss kingkiller chronical, mark lawerence broken empire, miles cameron the red knight and the fell sword, steven erikson malazan book of the fallen, john gwynn the faithful and the fallen series and anthony ryan blood song, scott lynch gentleman bastards series and a few I missed are right up there with him and far surpass paolini, sanderson is a great author but one of many, and the ones I mentioned are on the same level, mite not be a popular comment sense on a sanderson fan site but its the truth, there books are just as good, stormlight archive has massive promise but to say wont no tolkien after it is.......no words for it
  16. the time skips in the main story of malazan was negliable tho, yes there was jumps back to flush out the story some characters like the ones u mentioned but it didnt jump years into the future and all the stories came together to form one time line den, think that is very different to where jumpin decade or 2 in to the future to where the protagonists we know are that much older and intoducing new ones awell, and if memory serves sanderson said they were two different story arcs, with sum cross over of characters from the first story arc, given the slow pace of the books(which I like ) and given the size of roshar and the different factions etc y jump 10 or 20 tears plus when so much can do without it? thats all im sayin and just my opinion
  17. i seen an interview where he said there would be a big gap between books 5-6 which is disappointing in my opinion, was hopin for one story arc across all ten books like true epic fantasy,"there's nothing better than time passing to see your favorite characters evolve." you can do this with out a time gap and its far better without one, steven erikson showed every one how it should be done with the malazan book of the fallen series was hoping this was gonna be sandersons version/answer of/to that in a way so kinda disappointed its not,the two books so far have bin great, but just disappointed not one story arc, potential for it to be best epic fantasy ever was there but with a split time line its gone i think
  18. what do ye think the end game of the ghoustbloods is? if I remember all that is said is they seek the truth, and given the fact are obviously seperate from other factions in the books ie diagram and amarans faction and the faction shallens brothet was in? sorry if this already a topic
