Answer to your "What If" question: we would none of us sleep again. That does make me wonder, though... what would happen if Lightwards hatched a chicken egg after resurrecting a dead embryo? Fade could explore the Museum a bit, I suppose. He wouldn't find much beyond a twisted jungle, scattered dinosaurs, and a ruined gift shop filled with ibuprofen.

...Double post because as it turns out, equine awesomeness had been fused with Steelheart long before the first Epic pony reared it's muzzle in the Question thread. Long ago in the distant era of July 2013, a member called "shelleythejonas" uploaded a most excellent image. I propose we hail Shelley the Jonas as the philosophical founder of our fair ponification efforts.

Good point. Anyone want to lead an aggressive faction against Slaughterhouse?

After the realization of her acclaimed "Cookie Proposal," Epics flocked to the Empire in droves. CorpseMaker and Altermind could only stare dumbly as their former employees rejected them in favor of freshly baked snickerdoodles.

He will be redeemed thirty-two deaths later, when he comes to believe the phone is real and begins contentedly issuing orders through it.

Can you name a single human activity not made better by "and then Nighthound died"? On an only slightly related note, it would be kind of neat if Backtrack and the twins stood up to Nighthound eventually. They'd probably get the tar beaten out of them, Backtrack in particular, but it would be a cool callback to show off their character development.

It won't stay secret for long with Reader in the room. (Poor Backtrack. Calamity plays a cruel joke on every Epic--it makes some think they're gods, some think they're emperors, and some believe that all women are attracted to him. ) And once all ships have been canonized, Chicago Joe can wreck all of them. I'll check those out. ... What is this I don't even.

Mailliw had a map on the first Question thread. Uh, somewhere. (What songs, if I may ask?)

New ship: Autumn Glass + Phil the Epic Shrink. Backtrack does give the impression of mental instability... which is odd, since he's one of the sanest Epics to work for the Empire of Light. It would be nice on our end to give Backtrack a break from the crazy whirlwind of a day he's had so far. All in one day, Backtrack...

Agreed. The song and the movie are both chillingly uplifting and brilliantly constructed pieces of art. That's certainly fine. Though she'd better have her slapping gloves on, because Backtrack might just kiss her when he hears the news.

Reader looked inexplicably familiar. Backtrack struggled to place him as he pulled out chairs for himself and the twins; the twins reacted with typical contempt towards his chivalry, while Reader stared at them with a quiet, uncomfortable gaze. His quiet, uncomfortable gaze dominated the office for what seemed like several minutes. Reader merely sat in his chair and watched them. His stare never wavered; even when the smartly dressed man took sips from his wine goblet, those steady eyes remained fixated on the three of them. Growing irritated by the silence, Backtrack filled in the boredom by peaking into the building's past again. Scenes from church history flickered around him, showing countless occasions in which Reader had thoroughly disgruntled the soldiers sent to attend him. Apparently Reader was able to get under their skin somehow, capable of angering and upsetting anyone who spoke with him for any length of time-- "So, Steven," Reader said amiably, breaking the silence. "What brings you to the Dalles? And what's going on with this Lightwards down in Portland?" Backtrack felt his jaw drop. Steven? His mother used to call him that, though he'd always preferred to go by Steve. How...? MV looked at him with great amusement. "Steven? Seriously? You look like more of a 'Phil' maybe a 'John' definitely not a Steven." Her previous policy of ignoring his existence was suddenly seeming far more appealing. MV went on to accuse Reader of misogyny before demanding to see the Epic in charge. Her spunk was very lovable. Her death threats were... also lovable, but made Backtrack want to huddle into a ball and scream more than kiss her. But they got him thinking. What Epic did rule here? Was it a new and relatively tame Epic like the Arsenal fellow? Or had the leadership remained unchanged since the church massacre? Was Koschei the Deathless going to come barging in here any minute, ready to slit each of their throats and demand servitude? Backtrack took a deep breath and peaked into the past again. He had to see... It was as it feared. Two years previously, Koschei the Deathless had stood in this office. Reader stood beside him, having some sort of conversation with the immortal Epic which Backtrack did not care to hear. Koschei hadn't been in here for two years now, which was comforting. If the Deathless did rule The Dalles, he probably wouldn't make a surprise visit through that open office door. Probably. Resisting the urge to open his mouth and scream, Backtrack leaned back in his chair and listened to Reader and the twins carry out their conversation.

There's been some discussion of steadily upping his limit as he suffers more deaths. (There might be a mental block that deaths could steadily get rid of.) Alternatively, he could wear Upgrade's severed hand as a necklace. Just as a random thought that I haven't been planning since the beginning.

It was. Beautiful, I mean. It really was. It... I could probably write a full essay called "Things I Love About WALL-E," given an hour and a mug of coffee. It's the tender story of loving, innocent creatures, built to serve a race that was slowly destroying itself. They come together to fight against an evil system that's steadily choking the life out of humanity, all with one of the sweetest romances I've ever seen playing in the background. By the time "Down to Earth" starts playing in the end credits, I'm usually trying to convince my fellow viewers that invisible ninjas are chopping onions. He knows. Because he killed about fifty people in a zombie-driven massacre once, and was infuriated to discover he could only raise twenty of the corpses. He's currently pushing his limit at all times, hoping to increase his maximum Warrior count.

Darn, I missed my opportunity. At around 4750 I became the God of Color.

I refresh forum pages a little more often than may be healthy. Soon the entire Reputation board will be ruled by Epic ponies, and I will rule the forum! Uh, I mean, Congratulations Mailliw! And TwiLyght, I agree on the WALL-E front. It's far from a depressing work of fiction--I find it be a beautiful and inspiring piece myself.

Guardians of the Galaxy was the only movie I was excited enough to see in the theater for years and years. And it was one of precious few films that made me laugh, cry, gasp, and want to sing all in the same couple of hours. It was a gem that, for me, surpassed any of Marvel's other efforts in recent memory. Finding Nemo is also amazing, though I rank Wall-E as my personal favorite of Pixar productions.

As soon as this movie comes out on DVD, I'm buying it and rewatching it until I can recite every word in the film flawlessly from memory.

Agreed on the work of beauty front.

Well, once the Empire of Light advances to the interstellar stage, Nighthound can begin creeping out the entire galaxy. 0.o 0.0 Somebody call the Guardians of the Galaxy now.

Nightwatcher Boon/Bane (Game)

The Nightwatcher cannot force friendship and tolerance upon the forum; but for your wish-granting pleasure, here is the Nightwatcher herself as a pony. I wish for a best friend. -
Frightening. (Though Lightwards dreams of turning every living thing on Earth into a Warrior and then taking over the rest of the universe using a fleet of Epic-powered starships, so... I win? )
