"Chicago Joe? Will you stand here for a minute?" * grunts * "In that caterpult-whatsit of yours? Sure." * grins wickedly * "Oh, you'll work perfectly."

He's asleep right now, but I'll be sure to pose the question to him. I'm totally going to throw dumb people at Altermind next time Lightwards comes across him...
-
Mwahaha! I also have a ten year-old brother, and once CorpseMaker's plan is set into action, I will use his infantile intellect to find its weak point! Your brother's Lightwards suggestion may also warrant further looking into... I have a thirteen year-old brother whom I've explained the RP to. He's obsessed with the idea that Altermind's weakness is being confronted with people dumber than he is, which is why he established Thoughttown. I've tried arguing against the hypothesis, but his logic is quite unassailable.

Eh. That ship was kind of... old hat. (That was actually one of the most hilariously crack-filled ships yet devised--though I still think Aldo/Wes outcracks it. )

I think I need to do a Lightwards/Sam reaction in Portland, and I need to introduce Glamour/make Backtrack cry in The Dalles.

Naelus, World of Wandering Cities (Edit - New Content Added)
Kobold King replied to Lindel's topic in Creator's Corner
Wow--upvote for a fascinating introduction to this magical world! I'd don't have much to say by way of critique. Naelus definitely sounds like an interesting--if not altogether pleasant--place to live, and I'm incredibly intrigued by the Wanderers. There were similar humanoid cities in a Wayne Barlowe book, but the Blazehearts and the Skyfire are beautifully inventive details that more than set them apart from Barlowe's "Villars." A few questions: What do the people of Naelus' cities eat? Is it possible to maintain farms on the backs of Wanderers? Are recognizable plants and animals from Earth common on Naelus? How intelligent are the Wanderers? Is it possible to communicate with them? When they fight, do they deliberately attempt to cause human fatalities, to weaken the opponent's Blazehearts?- 23 replies

As a weapon, Nightblood does share some similarities with the atomic bomb. He was created in secret during a world-wide war. Nuclear bombs were used twice with devastating results; Nightblood was used once, leaving a trail of destruction unlike anything seen on Nalthis before. The devastation wrought by Nightblood was so terrible that Vasher was willing to do anything to keep more of him from coming to existence. In many ways, Vasher's insistence on preventing Nightblood from being wielded in battle again is quite similar to the anti-nuclear movement. On the other hand, Nightblood is far cuter than any nuclear bomb that I know of.

No, Cthulhu filed an eldritch restraining order against Nighthound ages ago.
-
Mankind, womankind, childkind... there's really nothing in the observable universe that should know about this.
-
As long as Intervention isn't one of the assassins. I am blissfully unaware of what Nighthound might do while drunk.
-
I don't know if I'll get a chance to do this today, since I'll have company and may not have much Internet access... But the Mad Ballooner needs a pony desperately.
-
I find myself laughing at the Mad Balloonist way more than I should. I picture Sam and Revolution staring at him in blank confusion, unsure which of his many ludicrous qualities to make fun of first.

Help me make my magic system not Allomancy.

Thanks! They're both awesome. Oh, good. I thought it was another one of the Hemalurgy references the forum's drowning in. And I for one do not want to know what an Inquisitor-Nighthound would be like.
-
I can't remember what you're referencing, so I'm naturally a bit on the disturbed side. TwiLyght, do you still happen to have the Prof and Quota create codes?

We'll have a cycling rotation--first Ray gets to beat him, then Voidgaze, then the momentum twins, then Sam, then Backtrack, then Nathan, then Lightwards, then Funtimes... Whew. This is gonna be a long list.
-
New plan: Nighthound's weakness gets set off, and Sam gets to beat him to death with a rolling pin. Agreed--welcome Pir2h, and welcome to the Insanity Question.

0.o I think we can all agree that a world where Funtimes is dead and Lightwards controls Nighthound would be an incredibly dark and horrifying place. I'm going to comfort myself with our official mantra for a little while. And then Nighthound died. And then Nighthound died. And then Nighthound died...
-
Funtimes is too adorable to die, which will be Lightwards' downfall. Lightwards actually wouldn't treat him that badly--he wouldn't want to provoke him any more than necessary. He would, however, keep his weakness on hand at all times and constantly remind him of the fact. As for Ray... Lightwards isn't pleased with Ray's treatment. Not out of any kind of sympathetic consideration, of course, but because he fears what Ray might do if she ever successfully killed Nighthound. He'd probably insist on either beating the woman's weakness out of her, or killing her and finding a spunky vanilla girl for Nighthound to keep.
-
Folks, you heard the lady. #and-then-nighthound-died EDIT: Lightwards is mentally ready to attack Funtimes at any time. He's terrified of her, but he deeply desires her death. It's not a matter of summoning up the backbone to stand up to her; it's a matter of formulating a plan to render her powerless. While it's doubtful that Nighthound would allow himself to be controlled in such a way, I simply think the karma would be incredible. Having him firmly under an abusive Epic's thumb would echo his treatment of poor Ray in an immensely satisfying way.
-
Lightwards would be rather irritated if someone took out Nighthound right when he was starting to be useful. But he'd much rather gain the allegiance of whoever killed him than try to retaliate. On the other hand... well, Lightwards is looking for a way to control Nighthound. If he ever found himself with the opportunity, he would try to force Nighthound into revealing his weakness (like Lucentia with the Metal.) Count me in.

I know, right? I can't say I'm looking forward to having Revolution's commune destroyed.

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Kobold King replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Fun fact: all history is ten times more exciting when you imagine all the tyrants through history as High Epics. No exceptions.
