  1. THANK YOU. Have Rep. WoR SPOILERS
  2. OOOOOOH. So it's almost definitely in one of the other Diagram excerpts...
  3. I am becoming increasingly confident in Hoid's innate ability to absolutely curbstomp basically anyone he cares to, but a demonstration would have been nice.
  4. This whole thread is Warbreaker Spoilers, in case anyone didn't get that. While I'm amused that you think me all-knowing as well as all-linking, I am in fact limited. I'm happy to help people find links, but it helps if you guys can send me PM's or something instead of assuming I read every post in every thread. I'm missing quite a bit of content these days with the sheer volume that's being pushed through. Vasher consuming stormlight is not, to my knowledge, explicitly confirmed. It's just fairly obvious in that he has to be able to. Nightblood can be fueled by stormlight: we both have WoB on this and know it as a matter of deduction because otherwise he wouldn't have been given to Szeth; and NIghtblood feeds on Breath. That same WoB tells us that everything can fuel everything, essentially, and in this case we know for sure that stormlight can be a substitute for Breath-eating entities. Vasher's a Returned who has to eat a Breath every 7 days to stay alive, and he's been on Roshar (at least on and off) for years. The simple conclusion is that he's been substituting some Stormlight into his diet. Now, to counter, we do have this: (Incidentally, I like how in that chapter Kaladin essentially acknowledges that he has a habit of seeking out the nearest worldhopper for sage advice when he needs a kick in the pants ) The exchange is likely a reference to the "distasteful choice" of eating Breath, and, since its in the present tense, could indicate that Vasher is still using Breath. I doubt it, though, as the reserve he'd need to stay alive without any readily-accessible sources would be astounding, and I doubt he can casually worldhop back to Nalthis and grab some more every other Tuesday like he's getting milk.
  5. You should mark those Warbreaker Spoilers, Argent. EDIT: Ninja'd. The Spoiler warning goes for you too, Galvantes.
  6. A good point, Galvantes. He was also able to sense Syl during his other interactions with Kaladin, and so likely walks around with a lot of life-sensing ability.
  7. Ah, thank you for making that clear.
  8. Interesting. Thank you. Perhaps "in the right direction" means "guided by Realmatics", at the very least?
  9. I was mostly meta-happy thinking of all the other Sharders who'd be going "SHARDSPEAAAAAAR!!!" upon seeing that.
  10. Interesting interpretation, Argent. I interpret that WoB to be saying that the Seventeenth Shard fancies itself to have an "Intent". So it's the 17th powerful entity in the cosmere with a singular purpose.
  11. @Argent I think the vision is fairly clearly referencing Shallash. So Shallash getting ready to face-smash another one of her depictions is the rather likely interpretation, I think. As to Lopen, I suppose we're just assuming that squires are of the same type as their associated Radiant. Kaladin is Lopen's leader, so seems intuitively odd that Lopen would somehow get another Order's powers. The underlying assumption is that all of Bridge Four's "glowiness" is ultimately because of Syl, not some additional spren. EDIT: NINJAAAAAA!
  12. Ah, my apologies: I wasn't clear. I wasn't suggesting that Hoid had Nightblood, but rather that he got his hands on another Awakened sword during/after the course of the Warbreaker sequel, as suggested here (finally found the thread ).
  13. I'd be surprised if you did know about Allomantic bronze, actually, Ranstang. A lot of this info is squirreled away in weird places such that you either had to be active when it came out or have someone else link to it for you if you're ever to know of it. That's why I'm a linkaholic.
  14. We actually have a fair amount of it. Source: EDIT: @Dyring Nope, not a dream.
  15. Hoid also has Lightweaving of his own, so he could be suppressing his aura that way. Warebreaker Spoilers:
  16. @Gaz No problem. I did say "likely", so no confirmation (much like with the Honorblade), but we do have some evidence to look at for him having an Awakened sword. In retrospect the "you're on the right track" might have been about Nightblood being on Roshar, but I still think there's a fair case to be made for the theory. There is Brandon's "you might be onto something...". There's also a theory floating around (though I can't find it) that lays out some in-text evidence about the appearance of Wit's sword in WoK that lead to all these questions.
  17. I honestly just can't see that being how it is. Being able to instantaneously summon your Shardblade all the sudden is the kind of thing that you'd notice, while it working as it usually does (10 heartbeats) is not really worthy of comment.
  18. A worldhopper we know showed up in at least Warbreaker, but who we have yet to locate definitively in any of the books.
  19. That'd be a poor deal on Hoid's part. Shardblades were being passed out like candy in WoR while Nightblood is singular, not to mention the whole "orders of magnitude" concern.
  20. It was Hoid talking to young!Shallan. That's the only one, though.
  21. All hope is not lost! If she managed to get ~2,000 Breaths, she'd reach the Fifth Heightening and not age.
  22. Drabs don't have any innative investiture? At all? That's rather surprising, since a Breath is only "part" of the soul.
  23. Perhaps. Or the impossibility is Hoid: KING OF EVERY MAGIC!!! Let's list, shall we? Hoid is either confirmed or highly likely to have: Various-book spoilers: This on top of being so old that only Shards are in his dating range.
  24. I'd chalk that up to selective narration on Brandon's part. Recall that Shallan hears the screams when she touches his blade only a short time after this.
  25. The problem with that, Argent, is that several Rosharan magics don't rely upon Stormlight, at least in the day-to-day. Shardblades are fine and dandy without, and Shallan's Memories (confirmed by one of the WoR epigraphs in WoR (wow that could grow confusing)) are also a part of her Bond. Anything relating to spren, it seems, doesn't need to actively feed on Stormlight—I'd bet that, because they're Splinters, they're self-sustaining, but that's a discussion for another day.
