Im just on a reread right now, and after just reading the scene where he talks to his sword...im subscriibing to the idea he gets his spren via the sword...

For Sanderson TWOK, when kaladin takes bridge four back and rescues dalinar and adolin - this will sound pathetic, but i remember getting quite excited and wanting to punch the air ... i didnt because my GF would have given me grief for weeks, but still i wanted to lol Too many none sanderson to mention. When Pug (feist) reveals his power in the arena sticks to my mind too.

Gosh i am quite surprised people think he will go bad, i figured he would definitely stay a good guy, and the sadeas incident was a moment of madness, yes he would feel guilt, but not turn evil. He does treat kaladin badly at first... i put that down to a personality clash really, kaladin does not act how you would expect a darkeye to act. But, when kaladin was put into prison, adolin showed his true colours by insisting on being in prison himself. He also shows distaste when killing the parshendi singers, and is relieved to be fighting someone who can fight back (eshoni) When you look at how he treats other darkeyes, letting the young lad try on his helm, rescuing the prostitute, i always viewed him as a completely good guy, down to earth within the culture that exists. I recall syl saying not all spren have her standards, so it wouldnt stop him becoming a KR, and i expect him to become one. Perhaps being the only none KR amongst his peers would engender jealousy, but i think it would be out of character personally

I fully expected jasnah to reappear, although it took a lot longer than expected I also expected to see something like a shard spear for kaladin, loved that seen though

It certainly could destroy narrative i think... Imagine the scene Szeth, slowly masters nightblood, and turns to evil- driven by guilt and corruptive influences of those around him. He gains an odium spren, and even more lethal abilities. He flies in, determined to strike down the fledgling radiants... And 'poof' he disappears into smoke, as jasnah soulcasts him..

This is a hard question for me! ive loved a lot of books for fantasy i think it is TWOK and for none fantasy, its a tie between 'The sunbird' and 'River god'..both by wilbur smith But i think the 'codex alera' series by jim butcher needs an honourable, as does Rothfuss, and the original 'magician' by feist

I did wonder, that as mentioned perhaps the stronger the sense of 'self' the harder it is to soulcast a person? So it worked on the thieves well because of that Having said that, i dont recall any gems etc breaking when shallan had her blood soulcast? It reminds me a bit of WOT really, where i always felt the 'smart' channelers would kill by stopping a heart etc.

It was simple for me I wasnt much into fantasy, APART from WOT and tolkien (which id read as a child) I had followed WOT for 20 years, i hadn't actually enjoyed the last few books if im totally honest. Then i read that a new author was finishing the series and decided to buy it. It was brilliant and i devoured it VERY quickly Thats when i decided to try his other books, and i loved those too, and was hooked Now i would name him my favorite author

Ive read warbreaker, but only once and some time ago- i didnt catch on either, heck i had forgotten about nightblood altogether Must reread warbreaker i think I had hoped in TOK that szeth would find redemption, after WOR though i think he is being set up to be a bad guy.

Hey all For a long long time the only sci fi for fantasy i had read was WOT, then i tried mistborn and got hooked. But i seem to have devoured a lot of fantasy in the last few years and am struggling to find good books to read now. I was hoping someone can suggest authors to try? Ive read and loved Brandon Sanderson (obviously) David Gemmel MOST of Raymond Feist (didnt like his last couple of books as much) Jim Butcher (loved the furies series) Peter V Brett Brent Weeks Tolkein Patrick Rothfuss Joe Abercrombie But ive also had a few ive not enjoyed, i cant say i loved Hobbs and i must be the only person on the planet to get bored with a song of ice and fire about 4 or 5 books in..i just didnt care what happened as i didnt like any of the characters Can anyone recommend some good adult fantasy authors? Thanks

I stupidly spoilt this for myself I was totally gripped from about 50% of the way through and i read until about 2am Eventually, with literally 20 minutes of book left i went to bed, i had work in 4 hours! Once at work i lurked here because the book was on my mind, and read about it before reading the scene, so i guess for me the shock factor was gone.

Hey all I got into Brandon Sanderson through the wheel of time. But as i enjoyed his work so much i started buying his other stuff too. He is now my fave sci fi author Ive read Mistborn series (loved it) TWOK and WOR- Loved them Warbreaker (liked it but not as much as some others) Is there any other Adult work of Sandersons that i have missed?. Im reluctant to shell out on 'young adult' stuff really. Cheers

Hmm every time there was a new WOT book i would do a reread of the entire series in the months leading up to it. And i admit i skipped or skimmed 7-10 i just didnt enjoy them as much. But id personally read the entire series at least once.

I thought the most important words where the oaths as well On the topic of dalinar.. what do you think a bondsmith actually is?.

I dont really mind, i dont want lots of dialogue about adolin and kaladin fighting for her affections though i must admit.

Hey all Ive read TWOK about 3 or 4 times since it came out- but not in the last 5 or 6 months, so if i remember wrongly please correct me! I recall a scene where jasnah lured some thieves into an alley and then soulcasted them from a distance to kill them. I was thinking, unless there is some limitation to this ability it would make it the single most powerful ability there is for combat?. Im curious do you think, voidbringers can be soulcast?. Shardbearers?, people such as kaladin even?

First post, so go easy please ;-) (do i need to put spoilers tag in btw?) Im conflicted about sadeas. He was one of the characters i hated, as i was supposed to- so in a way im glad he was gone. But i had hoped for it to be a spectacular ending, a duel with dalinar, or kaladin taking him out. Also, with the way jasnah suddenly reappeared, and szeth didnt actually die, and the way syl came back- part of me wonders if he is actually gone for good?
