Welcome to a brand-new year, and a brand-new Shardcast! Many of you have requested this Sixth of the Dusk 2 reading that Brandon read at the Rhythm of War release party, which you can find here. So it's time to get that done now that we finished our initial set of Rhythm of War topics, and oh boy, this one is exciting! Please be warned there are Rhythm of War things in this episode, and if you don't want spoilers for the space age cosmere, pass on this episode!

We have Eric (Chaos), Ian (Weiry), David (Windrunner), and Joshua (jofwu) this week.

1. Brass stores warmth, couldn't you use that to create an instant incinerator?

2. What if the "shardbullets" are made from the spren that make up the shardplate?

3. Unlike Joshua I did not see the Scadrians and the Radiant as morally equivalent. The Scadrians ridiculed the homeisler's beliefs, assumed their consent, had been manipulative with their aid in the past and were deceitful about the true nature of the relationship. The Radiant on the other hand was very clear and direct, he also promised a path to advancement within the Rosharan social order for any homeisler who wished to join.

4. I took the violet-blue color to mean that Honor and Odium will merge at the end of Stormlight books. Other than that I don't see any "MASSIVE FUTURE OF THE COSMERE SPOILERS".

The Skybreaker radiant kind of sounded like he was pitching a protection racket. I guess that works within his legal framework?

I can't wrap my mind around shardbullets. Gotta be some kind of mix of investiture to make that work. The only bullet like force on roshar seems to be a reverse lashing, but only the windrunners can do that. I don't think it can be a shardplate spren, it just seems from the scene that the gun is made out of the same material as a classic shardblade. Assuming it's a singer though, we really have no idea how surges will effect them in combination with their already existing forms, so it's really up in the air.

Maybe the bullets could be the Plate spren, individually? I don’t think that’s what’s going on here, really, but maybe that would work

The radiant could also be a sleepless. “Something Frightful” sounds like a pile of bugs to me. I still think a singer is more likely, but just a possibility to consider.

ROW Spoilers:

Spoiler

The shardgun could be a spren fabrial that used spren manifested into the physical realm, like soulcasters, but using radiant spren. Then, the box the radiant loaded into it would be the gemstone part of the fabrial.

The radiant loads a gun with a little box. Perhaps it converts Investiture (Stormlight) into a solid form?
