Don't pout, Bridgeboy! She'll give us clothes eventually!

Kaladin, Adolin, and Renarin, with factory paint and original hair removed. (Sorry for doll nudity!) Doll modifying technobabble below the cut.

Spoiler

Kaladin is being made from a Hunter Huntsman doll from Ever After High. Adolin has a head from Prince Daring Charming and a body from Alistair Wonderland, both from EAH. Renarin got Alistair's head and the body of a Deuce Gorgon from Monster High, to make him slimmer and more spindly than the warriors. (His hand has seen better days and is patched with Apoxie Sculpt, which I'll paint to match later). I plan to darken all of their skin tones a bit with a combination of soft pastels and spray sealant, give them wigs made with brushed yarn wefts, and probably paint their faces on with acrylics rather than mess around too much with Mr Super Clear, of which I am terrified.

I'm still hemming and hawing about the details of their uniforms, which I want to keep from looking particularly European while staying accurate to the books. If you have any suggestions, please let me know!

That's the danger of doll modding lol. Making a doll's wig cap, for instance, requires wrapping their head in plastic, covering that with a piece of scrap cloth fastened around the neck and face with rubber bands, and painting it with layers of glue to make it stiff. I don't put any clothes on them while I do it because I don't want the clothes getting glue on them, which is harder to clean up than hard plastic, and my husband generally complains...

I can see where he's coming from. Make sure to let us know when they are all the way finished! I can't wait.

I'm kind of using this gallery to post process pictures, partly because there are a lot of small decisions along the way and I'm looking for other people's opinions to help me make up my mind!
